… yeah. Well, maybe the writing on the episode will be better? You think? HMMM. Surely Nicki Minaj‘s performance will be worth tuning in for … I’m sure.

New Details About Sarah Michelle Gellar’s New TV Series Come To Light

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 05:30 PM PST

A couple of weeks ago we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar will be making her long-awaited return to TV this Fall in a new CBS series called The Ringer. Today we learn from Ringer producer Peter Traugott just what exactly the TV series will be about.

WHAT IS RINGER EXACTLY? "It's a thriller, for sure," Traugott explains. "It's an edgy thriller about redemption and about revenge. There's a point of view of two twin sisters who grew apart over a tragedy in their past. And one now seeks redemption and the other one seeks revenge. The sister who is seeking redemption has had a much more troubled life. When her fancy pants sister disappears, she takes over her life. She's living the life of her more successful sister only to come to find out that her life is equally as fraught with danger and complication. Her sister dies in a boating accident. The other sister takes on her persona, only to come to find out that they have a hit out on her."

WHY CAST SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR? HOW'D YOU GET HER TO COME BACK TO NETWORK TV? "Sarah had started thinking about coming back to TV a couple of years ago and she really wanted it to be something in cable," Traugott explains. "In part just because of the subject matter you're able to do in cable. But network television now has cracked that door a little bit and they've obviously been doing great stuff in network—and great stuff in cable. Both places are great. And this was a spec script that we had found and my colleague, Rachel Kaplan, had found by these young writers [Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder of The CW's Supernatural] and we flipped for it. Sarah's manager got it to her, and she fell in love with the piece, too. We had been talking about this group for over a year trying to figure this out. For Sarah, she wasn't really sure about network just because she wasn't sure she would get what she wanted. When CBS read this thing and flipped for it and loved Sarah for it, that kind of started her thinking about being more open-minded to doing network because of the subject matter and this piece that she was so excited about."

DOES GELLAR PLAY BOTH SISTERS ROLES? Yes! "She plays two characters: One is Bridget, the sister who takes over Siobhan's life—Siobhan's the other sister. The sisters reunite after having been estranged for a long time, and when they reunite, Siobhan dies. She falls…you know, in a boating accident." So it's like Hayley Mills of Lindsay Lohan in The Parent Trap and its more modern remake? "Yeah," Traugott admit, with a laugh. "That's kind of a comedic reference, and a reference old old Westerns—yeah, Sarah's playing both roles."

IF SIOBHAN DIES EARLY, DO WE SEE HER IN FLASHBACKS—OR WHAT? Yes, exactly. "You'll see her that way. Not necessarily tonally nor stylistically, but the show comparable to Damages. I love Damages—by the way, it's my favorite show—but in the same way that Damages tells part of the story in the present, through the past. Not just flashbacks but through actual stories in the past. That's what's happening here. Hopefully if we go to series, the audience will come to understand what the fall out was between Siobhan and Bridget. Why Siobhan would never want to see her sister again, why Bridget was in a kind of dark place in her life—all that stuff will be told as we move forward in Bridget's stories through flashbacks with Siobhan.

OMG, this actually sounds fantastic! I can’t wait to see SMG in the roles described here. The full Q&A with Traugott continues on the Entertainment Weekly website HERE but I do want to share a couple of Buffy the Vampire Slayer-related questions below:

WILL BUFFY FANS BE PLEASED WITH THIS ROLE FOR GELLAR? Duh: yes! "For the Buffy fans, she wanted part of what she initiated. As a matter of fact, her and her manager know this, but I know one thing she wanted to guard against was making sure that she whatever she does in TV, she does something that her fans who had grown up loving Buffy will also be excited about. And we think this show has that quality to it.

HOW WILL THIS PLEASE BUFFY FANS EXACTLY? "It's a very different show. I mean, Buffy is so specific and a great, cool genre piece," Traugott says. "But in the same way with Sarah, I think what's remarkable about her as an actor—and very few people have this ability—she can play both sides well. If you remember Cruel Intentions, she was the villain, but you found yourself kind of rooting for her anyway. That's what we're looking for. How do we find something where her character has some edge, there's some darkness to her, she doesn't always do the right thing, but at the end of the day, you're also rooting for her? And that's what we were looking for in this. Obviously, Buffy was a hero, a kick-ass hero, and we wanted to be true to that with Sarah."

I really, REALLY love EW for asking the Buffy questions. They know that the first question that SMG fans would ask would be Buffy-related so I’m glad they got it out there. I’m telling you, you have to read the rest of this interview. The Ringer really does sound like a fresh, cool series. SMG back in TV is a dream come true … and who knows, this new role may give her exciting new long-lasting life outside of the Buffyverse.

Will McG Direct The New Wonder Woman Pilot Episode?

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 04:30 PM PST

Now that we know that Wonder Woman WILL return to TV in the Fall, it’s time to turn our attention to figuring out how the show will be made. As far as I know, the lead role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman has NOT yet been cast … but according to a new report, producers are thinking about hiring director McG (the man responsible for the Charlie’s Angels movies) to film the pilot episode.

Charlie Angels helmer McG is being called upon to help revive another female superhero franchise. Sources confirm to me exclusively that McG has emerged as the odds-on favorite to direct the pilot for NBC's much-hyped Wonder Woman remake. The news comes four days after the Peacock gave the David E. Kelley-produced reboot an 11th hour green light. On the surface, McG is an obvious choice to shepherd Wonder Woman. In addition to his ties to the Charlie's Angels movies and ABC's in-the-works remake, the multi-hyphenate has deep roots in the TV biz. He currently serves as an executive producer on Nikita, Human Target, Supernatural and Chuck. (He also directed the Chuck pilot back in 2007.) It also helps that McG's production company is based at Warner Bros.

Based solely on his work directing the Charlie’s Angels films, I think he will be the perfect director for Wonder Woman. Those films are really fun to watch, primarily because of McG‘s directing style. I am on board if he gets the job. What will be MOST integral to the project, tho, is the casting of Wonder Woman. There will never be another Lynda Carter … but I do hope they are able to find a woman who comes close having all of the wonderful qualities that Lynda Carter has. I can’t wait to find out who will get the role … that way I can either celebrate or commiserate publicly ;)

Any McG fans out there? What do y’all think? Would he be a great director for Wonder Woman?

First Look: ‘The Real Housewives Of Orange County’ Season 6

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 03:15 PM PST

Bravo TV‘s first ladies of The Real Housewives franchise return in March with the 6th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Considering all of the drama that we’ve been getting from there other and, IMHO, superior versions of the series, the OC Housewives have a lot to make up for … and judging by the just-released preview video for season 6, they’re gonna bring as much drama as they possibly can.

Sundays continue to sizzle on Bravo with the return of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" on March 6 at 10pm ET/PT. In the sixth season of the original series that started the hit franchise, Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Barney, Gretchen Rossi, and Alexis Bellino welcome new beautiful blonde, Peggy Tanous, a 41-year old former model and now stay-at-home mom with poster girl good looks. After a tough financial year, the OC ladies are bouncing back and living lavishly once more as the series goes behind the gates for a voyeuristic look at the scandalous truths, mending friendships, rocky marriages, sizzling romances and ever-changing loyalties inside the wealthy Southern California suburb. Tamra also introduces the group to new gal-pal Fernanda Rocha, a 34-year old, hot Brazilian lesbian fitness instructor.

With Simon in her rear view mirror, Tamra is moving forward with her divorce and has a younger, more attractive boyfriend. Former housewife, Jeana Keough, comes to the defense of Simon by disparaging Tamra in the tabloids, which leads to a big confrontation. Adding more stress, Tamra's feud with Gretchen has gotten worse and her oldest son, Ryan, reveals a shocking secret.

Gretchen continues to build financial independence through her make-up line and is now expanding the business with a handbag collection. Feeling pressure from her girlfriends to take the next step with boyfriend, Slade, Gretchen doesn't know if she is ready for marriage again. She knows all the gossip about him being a deadbeat dad, serial-housewife-dater and freeloader, and has to weigh this into her decision about their future together.

Alexis still believes that husband Jim is her king and savior and runs the show, but also confesses she wants more freedom and independence as a wife and mother. It's a new chapter for Alexis as she decides to launch a line of sexy and revealing dresses. There is also rumor and speculation that the Bellino's may be suffering the after effects of the economic downturn with a home foreclosure.

Vicki has built an empire with her insurance business, but her constant drive is having negative results at home. Vicki and Donn are drifting apart and neither one knows how to change it. Will Vicki have to choose between her business and her marriage?

Peggy is an odd mix between a holistic, new age woman and a wealthy Orange County party girl. She believes in clean, natural living, but loves her bling, Bentley and plastic surgery. She sees her new OC gal-pals as another step towards being fabulous. During the season, she tries to reinvigorate her former modeling career, but there is more to Peggy than just good looks as she opens up about a dramatic secret.

Lord, the OC ladies do try hard don’t they? Don’t believe me, take a look at this preview trailer for the upcoming new season:

Where there is shoving, there is bound to be some serious drama. To be honest, The Real Housewives of Orange County are my least fave of the franchise … but, in their defense, they are more fun to watch than say the boring Real Housewives of DC. I’m not gonna lie, I’ll prolly tune in to watch this mess. Oh, who am I kidding … of course I’m gonna watch. But I’m really gonna hate myself because of it. Do you think YOU’LL be tuning in to watch?

First Look: The NEW Thundercats

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 02:31 PM PST

Back in June we learned that Warner Bros. was planning to make a whole new animated series based on the classic 80s cartoon Thundercats. Last summer, we got our first look at the concept art for the new show … today, we get our first official look at how the characters will look in this new series. I’d be lying if, based on this first look, I didn’t say that I am starting to get worried about this new show.

A reboot of “Thundercats,” the popular 1980s animated series that depicts cat-like humanoid aliens battling evil, is set to premiere later this year on the Cartoon Network and the first promotional image for the new show was recently released. The new show is a product of Warner Bros. and Japanese animation Studio4°C, which produced “The Animatrix,” and “Halo Legends.” Cartoon Network writer Todd Casey posted an image from the new “Thundercats” on his Twitter page, adding: “ThunderCats (officially) Ho!!,” a reference to Thundercats leader Lion-O’s battle call. Pictured are Lion-O, Cheetara, Tygra, and Panthro. Among those missing from the photo are younger Thundercats and twins WilyKit and WilyKat, as well as the team’s pet, Snarf. “Rest assured, he’ll be in the show!” Casey said. “We’ll try and make sure he’s in the next batch of artwork released.”

HMMMMMM. Here is another photo that features this new batch of Thundercats:

So …. what do you think? My initial reaction is … I don’t like the look of the new characters. I much prefer the way the characters look in the original series:

But, that’s not to say that I won’t A.) still watch the show and B.) grow to like the characters. The original characters are so dear to me that any changes would not be welcome … but I’ll wait to see the show to make a final determination. These new Thundercats look far too manga for me … they also look much younger than they should (er, you know, for humanoid cat people). My heart isn’t in love with these Thundercats just yet … but maybe that will change.

What do YOU think?

Jayden James Makes A Supercute Spider-Man

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 02:27 PM PST

While his mama Britney Spears is bizzy burnin’ up the music charts, little Jayden James stepped out for a frozen yogurt dessert treat with his nanny here in SoCal yesterday afternoon. Taking a page from the Cruz Beckham guide to style, JJ decided to wear a Spider-Man costume for the outing.

Now we’ve seen Spider-Man falling to his near death on Broadway and we’ve seen <strong>Spider-Man running around on the streets of SoCal but this version of Spider-Man is the CUTEST ever! Jayden looks so much like his mom, ain’t he just precious? I think it’s fab that he gets to wear fun costumes even when it’s not Hallowe’en. He is a doll, don’tcha think?

Armani Releases New Images Of Rafael Nadal & Megan Fox

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 01:40 PM PST

On Friday we got our first look at new photos of Megan Fox as the female spokesmodel for Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2011 as well as new photos of Rafael Nadal as the male spokesmodel for the line. Today we get to see two new images from that ad campaign … one of Megan and one of Rafael.

Wowie!! They both look hot … but I, personally, have to give the advantage to Rafael. I honestly have never even considered Giorgio Armani jeans before … but these ads deffo make me take notice. I hope we get to see new Armani Underwear ads next :)

Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Is An LA Lakers Fan

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 12:41 PM PST

Prince Michael Joseph Jackson, the eldest son of the late Michael Jackson, was spotted courtside at the Staples Center in downtown LA last night with his uncle Jackie Jackson. Before the game got underway, Prince was greeted with a handshake by Lakers star Ron Artest.

The Lakers took on and defeated the Utah Jazz by a score of 120-91 so mebbe Prince was a good luck charm. In any event, it’s nice to see the kid doing some nice and normal things. Sure, most kids don’t get to sit courtside at basketball games but for the Jackson family, this is nice and normal behavior … and it’s nice to see.

Can’t Speak

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 12:29 PM PST

So … the sore throat I’ve been nursing for the past couple of days has resulted in me losing my voice :( Because David isn’t here, I haven’t spoken to anyone since yesterday evening … but when I accepted a package today, I tried to tell the deliveryman Thank You and nothing came out. LOL! I was so embarrassed. Thankfully, I’m not in pain and I don’t feel ill at all … but this throat thing has been a consistent minor annoyance for longer than I would like.

Happilly, tho, David will be back home here in LA tonight so I will be able to pester him endlessly to take care of me … I bet he can’t *wait* to get home now ;) No big news at all to report … I’ve just been reading and listening to records. Hope your week has been going well … we’re halfway to the weekend already :)

First Listen: Britney Spears, ‘Hold It Against Me (Robots With Rayguns Mix)’

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 11:08 AM PST

Now that Britney Spears has topped the music charts in 19 countries around the world with her new single Hold It Against Me, it’s time for the release of the remixes. Today we get our FIRST LISTEN to the first official remix for the song, created by Robots with Rayguns. Additionally, there is a new press release going around that claims that Britney WILL perform at the Grammy Awards next week. HMMM … it must be Wednesday.

Cometh the Britney single, cometh the remix. You just knew once Britney Spears dropped “Hold It Against Me” it was only a matter of time before the remixes, reworks, mashups and edits started pouring in. A quick scan of ye olde Internet reveals dozens of dance-oriented remixes, from disco-flavored reworks to even more dubsteppy (dubsteppier?) versions. And there’s already talk of a remix featuring Atlanta MC and ice cream-cone enthusiast Gucci Mane. For our purposes, today, we’re going to be talking about this remix by Robots With Rayguns, the DJ/production name of electro producer Lucas Patrick Smith. Robots has done remixes for Lady Gaga and Chromeo, and with this version of “Hold It Against Me,” it sounds like they’ve hit another home run. With some slinky keyboards and minimal drum machine programming, Robots With Rayguns gives “Hold It Against Me” the feel of an ’80s Eurythmics or Pet Shop Boys track. It’s a fascinating listen, and it really shows how much you can do within the remix format.

Listen to the new remix below:

And now, for that Britney Grammy rumor. A new press release was issued today to get the word out that music producer Dr. Luke scored his 20th #1 Billboard song with Hold It Against Me. Here is the full text of that press release:

Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me” co-written and co-produced by Dr. Luke debuted at #1 in the United States as well as 19 other countries, becoming a global phenomenon and in its first week sold 411k, the most ever for any female artist. The hit single also shattered radio records by receiving 3,866 plays on its first day with the largest audience debut of 33,237,000.

Britney Spears will perform next month at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony where Dr. Luke is nominated for Producer of the Year.

Personally, I still don’t believe this rumor … just yet. We won’t know for sure if Britney will perform at the Grammys until Grammy Night so … hold on to your horses, y’all. Just jam out to the new remix and wait it out. So … what do you think of the remix? Do you like?

George Michael Is A Guy With iPhone

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 10:48 AM PST

Recently a new profile showed up on the Scruff iPhone app — which matches up gay men — that seemed to belong to new Aussie resident George Michael. The man in the photos clearly is Michael but it turns out that the profile is a fake. Still, for a short while, it was believed that openly gay Georgie was on the prowl for hot, hairy Aussie men … shocking, ain’t it?

A prankster posing as George Michael has posted a photo of the pop icon on a gay website in Australia. Michael, real name Georgios Panayiotou, has been painting Australia's largest city Sydney, pink for the past month. The former Wham! star has been splitting time between his rented cliff-top apartment in the city's Whale Beach and the trendy bars and restaurants of downtown sun-drenched Sydney which is coming to the end of its summer. Now a fan is using his profile on gay iPhone contact site 'Scruff' which describes itself as being for 'bears, furred, inked, uniformed, jocks, geeks and more.' It also promises users they will be able to 'meet hundreds of thousands of scruffy gay guys in your neighbourhood.' The profile posted by the iconic pop star on the iPhone site is under the name of 'Sydney rocks.' Last year he used the gay contact site 'Grindr' during his extended stay in Australia. It lists the contact name 'Back for Wood' on the site to make contacts. The new 'Scruff' iPhone link is location-based and uses the iPhone's built-in global satellite positioning system instantly ‘to connect’ with other users in the same area. A spokesperson for the singer said today: 'We hear about stories like this all the time and they always turn out to be pranks.' The troubled star, who has sold 100 million records and had 14 UK No 1 singles and albums and another nine chart number ones in the United States, has warmed to his new role as playing the adopted son of Australia's largest city.

To be honest, if I were George Michael I’d be mortifyingly pissed and embarrassed by this fake profile. If photos of me using an older generation iPhone were leaked to the Internets, I’d die! But … that’s just me. Here is another screenshot from George Michael‘s fake Scruff profile:

This silliness reminds me of the photos of openly gay R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe that ended up on the website Guys with iPhones back in 2009. I mean, it’s possible that these celebs might troll the Internets and iPhone apps for hook-ups but … isn’t there a better way to meet people?

Jason Statham Does ‘Men’s Journal’ Magazine

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 10:25 AM PST

Action movie star Jason Statham, who can be seen in The Mechanic in theaters this Friday, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Men’s Journal magazine. In his coverstory interview, Statham expresses his distaste for fake stunts in films & John Mayer‘s fake watch … and he offers no info at all about his relationship with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. But he does pose for a few fun pub photos so, there’s that.

In the February issue of Men's Journal, Jason Statham opens up about his past life selling fake watches and doing his own stunts. Green-screen work "makes my blood boil," Statham tells writer Erik Hedegaard. "In The Mechanic, did you see me jump off the bridge? That's a real stunt. Free fall! I love shit like that!" What's not real, Statham says, is John Mayer's watch – he wants to see paperwork. "It's like saying, 'This is the Mona Lisa, but it's not signed, because da Vinci did two, and this one — he just forgot to sign it — but it's him for sure,'" Statham says. As for his girlfriend, Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Statham refuses to give up any details. "I've got my girlie, and she's precious to me," he says. "If you say nothing, you can't get fucked over. So I'm saying nothing."

You can read an excerpt from this coverstory HERE and check out a few outtake photos from Jason‘s Men’s Journal shoot below:

Personally, I prefer Statham photoshoots that feature much less clothing … but I prefer any photoshoots over his interviews ;) The man is deffo a hottie who, IMHO, does a better job posing for photos than giving interviews.

Vince Neil Pleads Guilty To Drunk Driving

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 10:12 AM PST

Back in June of last year we learned the sad news that Vince Neil got busted for drunk driving and today we learn that Vince will pay for that crime with a 2 week stint in jail. As you may know, Vince Neil got busted for DUI back in the 80s … at that time, he was punished with 30 days in jail — and he killed a man! This time, he only gets 2 weeks. Now that’s celebrity justice.

Mötley Crüe front man Vince Neil just pled guilty to DUI in Las Vegas … and will most likely spend two weeks behind bars … TMZ has learned. Neil was busted back in June — and cops say his blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit. As we previously reported, Neil had worked out a plea deal with the Clark County District Attorney which includes spending 15 days in the slammer followed by 15 days under house arrest. Neil is expected to surrender on Feb. 15.

The lesson here, my good readers, seems to be … if you kill someone by driving drunk you will spend a month in jail. If your drunk driving doesn’t lead to death, you only get 2 weeks. OH, only if you’re a rockstar, that is. Got it?

An Arkansas Grocery Store Censors The Elton John ‘US Weekly’ Cover

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 09:11 AM PST

Remember that beautiful US Weekly magazine coverphoto that we got to see last week that introduced to the world Elton John and husband David Furnish‘s newborn baby boy Zachary Jackson Levon? Yeah, well a grocery store chain in Arkansas called Harps believes that coverphoto of the happy family should be censored so as to “protect young” shoppers from seeing it.

Harps – a grocery store chain in Arkansas – appears to have censored last week's Us Weekly Magazine cover featuring Elton John and David Furnish's new baby. The above photo was brought to CoverAwards by earsucker, which picked it up from this tweet. I've made numerous calls to the chains PR rep – who so far refuses to comment on the chain's ridiculous behavior. What I've been told is the company has received 50 calls this morning alone – and now the PR director is only accepting voice mails. I also spoke to an individual inside the actual Arkansas Harps' store – who did confirm that the cover was at one point covered – which confirms the actual above picture is real. Want to express your outrage? Call 870-425-6556.

As unsurprised by this kind of homophobia in this country, I am always saddened by it. It is completely dumbfounding to me how the sight of a happy family could be considered harmful to anyone:

While our country continues to make great strides in equal treatment of all, this is a sober reminder that we still have so far to go. We don’t have Harps stores here in SoCal but if I did live in a city where Harps operates, you can be assured that I would never spend a penny in their stores ever again. IMHO, young Harps shoppers do need to be protected, tho … protected from this sort of intolerance and ignorance.

‘Glee’ Creator Ryan Murphy To Kings Of Leon: ‘F*ck You . . . Assholes’

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 08:40 AM PST

Glee creator Ryan Murphy is getting a lot of attention today in the wake of comments that he made to The Hollywood Reporter about his personal feelings about the band Kings of Leon. In a coverstory article about the show Glee, Murphy sends a message to Kings of Leon voicing his displeasure at their decision NOT to let Glee use their songs on their show … and that message is, and I quote, “Fuck you, Kings of Leon. [You] are assholes.” Oh, and there’s more to be read.

Kings of Leon have had numerous offers to appear on hit television shows like Ugly Betty and to have their music featured on smashes like FOX’s Glee, but the band has rejected every one. “We could have sold out so much more,” bassist Jared Followill said back in August. “We turn down stuff constantly.” Turns out Glee creator Ryan Murphy doesn’t take rejection so well — and he’s got some harsh words for the Followill clan. “Fuck you, Kings of Leon,” Murphy says in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “They’re self-centered assholes.” FOX’s show has helped raise the profile of artists ranging from Cee Lo to Florence and the Machine, and covers of their’ music on the show have boosted sales and introduced them to younger audiences. Murphy says the Kings should be taking advantage of these opportunities, which he believes have an educational value for younger viewers, as well. “They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.” Frontman Caleb Followill has responded to Murphy’s stinging criticism, and he says the reason the Kings turned down the offer wasn’t because the band hates Glee — just that no one has watched the show in the first place. “This whole Glee thing is a shock to us,” he told the Reporter. “It's gotten out of hand. At the time of the request, we hadn’t even seen the show. It came at the end of that record cycle, and we were over promoting [the band's hit single "Use Somebody"]. This was never meant as a slap in the face to Glee or to music education or to fans of the show. We’re not sure where the anger is coming from.”

In my personal opinion, it is Ryan Murphy who looks like the asshole. I guess I can understand that he is pissed that his show can use any Kings of Leon music but to publicly issue a “Fuck You” to the band just because they said no to a music request is beyond outrageous. Does Murphy *seriously* think the band is “hating on arts education” merely because they won’t let their music be used on the show? SERIOUSLY? For a man who claims to be trying to positively change the world for children with his TV show, Ryan Murphy sure has a funny way of doing so. In retaliation to Murphy‘s comments, Kings of Leon guitarist Nathan Followill posted a semi-homophobic message on his official Twitter profile in response:

Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say fuck.

He does have a point about “educating 7yr olds how to say fuck” but his comments that Ryan should “get a manicure, buy a new bra” is seeming meant as a dig toward Murphy‘s homosexuality. You see because straight men think it’s an insult to feminize gay men. So in the end, Followill looks like an ass himself.

I’m actually very surprised at the level this back and forth bullshizz has gotten. Trust me, feuds like this (and worse) happen every single day in Hollywood but not usually in the press. I think Murphy‘s outrageous comments really do a disservice to all the good that seemingly comes from Glee. It seems hypocritical for the Glee creator to advocate anti-bullying in one breath and then turn around and hurl insults at a band just because they said no to a song request. Outrageous.

In case you still care, here are a few photos from the Hollywood Reporter‘s coverstory on the behind-the-scenes action on the set of Glee:

Is this all not the most insane thing you’ve ever heard? Whose side are you on … Ryan Murphy‘s or KoL‘s?

Vanessa Hudgens Is The New Face Of Candie’s

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 08:17 AM PST

In March of 2009, we learned that living legend Britney Spears was named the new global spokesmodel for Candie’s clothing and for the next 2 years, we got to see a whole slew of promo materials of our dear Britney for Candie’s. Today we learn that Brit Brit has passed on the mantle of spokesmodelship to a new Candie’s girl. Vanessa Hudgens has just been unveiled as the NEW face of Candie’s clothing, which is available for sale exclusively at Kohl’s.

Photographer Tony Duran shot this new Candie’s campaign featuring Vanessa Hudgens at the Pink Motel in Sun Valley, CA and the promo images will debut in March in various women’s magazines like Seventeen, Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Here are a few outtake photos from the shoot:

Britney posted a message on her official Twitter profile congratulating and welcoming Vanessa as the new Candie’s girl:

So fun being a Candie’s Girl! Look out for the @Candiesbrand pics of their new girl, Vanessa Hudgens! – Brit

You may remember that just last week we learned that Britney has teamed up with BCBG to create a line of clothing for Sears that will be called Spears for Sears. Now that Britney is no longer working with Candie’s, it appears her collaboration with Sears can move forward. But I digress … let’s get back to Vanessa. Here is video from Vanessa‘s Candie’s photoshoot, which looks like she was having a whole lotta fun:

Vanessa is the PERFECT girl to take over spokesmodel duties for Candie’s, I think the company chose very well. What do y’all think? Will Vanessa Hudgens make a good Candie’s girl? Are YOU more likely to shop at Kohl’s for Candie’s now that Baby V is the new face?

Penélope Cruz & Javier Bardem Welcome The Birth Of Their First Baby!

Posted: 26 Jan 2011 07:29 AM PST

Congratulations are in order for happily marrieds Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem because, according to new reports, the couple welcomed the birth of their first child this week. ¡Hola! magazine reports that Penélope and Javier gave birth to a baby boy!!

Congratulations are in order for Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, who welcomed their first child — a boy! — together over the weekend. According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, the infant was born at Cedars Sinai Hospital in L.A.; Spanish magazine Hola broke news of the baby’s gender. Hola also reports that members of the couple’s family flew in from Spain for the birth: Cruz’s mother, brother and sister, plus Bardem’s mother. Cruz, 36, first debuted her baby bump while shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in Puerto Rico last September — just two months after she secretly tied the knot with Bardem, her Vicky Cristina Barcelona costar. “He’s a friend and the best actor in the world,” Cruz has said of Bardem, 41.

Awww … and Yay!! When last we saw Penélope here in the blog, she and the baby bump were spotted on the streets of SoCal just after Xmas last month … now she is a new mom! I kinda love that it took a Spanish newspaper to report news that went down here in LA. ¡Hola! magazine managed to nab a photo of Javier gettin’ some love from a family member in celebration of the birth of his son:

It remains to be seen if the painfully private couple will immediately share photos of their new baby boy or if they’ll just, you know, not. In any event, let’s send all our love and congrats to the newly expanded family today ;D
