Paris Hilton Pops A Squat

Paris Hilton rounded up some of her dogs (the names of which I’ve lost track of, to be honest) so that she could look the part of the happy pet owner for a gaggle of paparazzi and was snapped in a fairly unflattering squat position.


Now, I’m not sure if she as trying to teach the dogs … something … but this position is not a good one for dear sweet Paris. I think the last time I saw Paris Hilton in this position she was doing really unseemly things to a gentleman in a night-vision lit bedroom. Yeah, not a good memory. Ick.

Justin Beiber Does ‘Love’ Magazine

When Love magazine needed a covermodel to grace the cover of their new issue — devoted to androgyny — they looked no further than Justin Bieber (who often gets mistaken for lesbian women, and vice versa). Here is our first look at the Biebs on the cover of this new Androgynous Issue of Love magazine.

We normally rag on fashion magazines for making people look too naked or too thin or too cartoonish. But Justin Bieber's cover for LOVE magazine is so refreshingly real that we can't help but laud it. Terry Richardson's straight-on portrait of the teenage pop sensation is just so simple and direct — and its simplicity and directness invites a ton of contemplation. Look. This is Justin Bieber. He is the world's most famous teenager. Is he starting to get bags under his eyes? Does he know he looks like a girl? He is on the cover of the Androgyny issue, after all. Does he want us to send him a tube of Chapstick? What DOES he want? We don't know. But we do know that this cover is one of the best we've seen so far this year.

While it’s true that Justin Bieber has a bit of an androgynous look I think it has more to do with his age than anything else. Once the boy goes thru puberty, he’s bound to look less lesbianish and more manly. I mean, it took a while for wee Zac Efron to grow up and start lookin’ like a man. The same is bound to happen for Bieber … I’m sure.

Christina Aguilera Will Sing The National Anthem At Super Bowl XLV

With just under 2 weeks to go to Super Bowl XLV we learn today that popstar turned actress Christina Aguilera has been tapped to sing the national anthem at the start of the big game next month.

We told you a few weeks ago that Christina Aguilera will be part of the Super Bowl XLV pregame festivities. But now Fox and the NFL have officially announced it. She’ll belt out the national anthem at Cowboys Stadium in North Texas on Feb.6. The performance will be televised live on Fox prior to kickoff. Don’t be nervous, Christina, but more than 153 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year’s Super Bowl, the most-watched television program in history. The pregame show and Super Bowl XLV will be broadcast worldwide. “I have been performing the Anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true,” Aguilera said in a statement. “I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event.”

On the plus side, Xtina has a very big voice and I’m sure she will do The Star-Spangled Banner justice. On the down side, Xtina tends to overdo things a bit when she belts out big songs. So … now you have all the information you need to determine if you want to tune in for the Super Bowl XLV pre-game show or not ;)

Photos Of Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nashville Dinner With Taylor Swift Hit The Internets

Last Friday we learned that Jake Gyllenhaal flew to Nashville, TN to have a semi-quiet dinner with ex-whatever Taylor Swift at a place called Bound'ry. Today, we get to see clandestinely snapped photos of the pair as they made their way into the eatery.


It’s interesting … even when the couple tries to meet in secret they *still* manage to get photographed … isn’t that so weird? To be honest, I really hope this is the last time we’ll see these two out and about together. This little whatever it is that they are doing is just silly.

Keanu Reeves Reveals That New ‘Matrix’ Sequel Films Are On The Way [UPDATE]

Brace yourselves, folks … according to new comments made by Kenau Reeves, plans are in the works to bring a 4th and 5th Matrix film to the big screen … in 3D! As you may recall, in recent months, we learned that Keanu was teaming back up with his former co-star Alex Winter to make a new sequel to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and NOW we learn that he is also in talks to star in a new Matrix film. Should we be worried?

Keanu Reeves, in a guest of honor speech at the London School of Performing Arts University, has finally clarified that there are indeed plans for more Matrix films. It should come as no surprise that there are plans for a fourth and fifth Matrix movie. Besides the fact that combined with merchandising and home media sales the movies are money-makers, the development of the 3D filming tech adopted by James Cameron and the recent release of Tron: Legacy (sequel to a movie that was one of many influences on The Matrix) make it a prime time for the Wachowski Brothers to reignite their Matrix saga. In short, it's good timing. Keanu Reeves confirmed the development during a Q&A session in London when he stated that the Wachowski Brothers have finished work on a two-film script treatment for The Matrix sequels. AICN posted the details of Keanu's speech, in which they went on to say:

Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pros and cons of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. Keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first movie.

The news and confirmation that new Matrix movies are in development is going to fuel a lot of mixed reactions from fans. For every fan that loves all three current films, there's another who hates the sequels. It's going to be interesting seeing the reactions as more news develops on the Matrix series.

Grrr. I’m worried y’all. The Matrix sequels that we already got weren’t that great … and now they’re planning a couple more? I’ll admit that the notion of a new Matrix film in 3D is intriguing but … the last Matrix film left such a bad taste in my mouth, I still pretend it doesn’t exist. What do y’all think … is this good news or the Worst. News. Ever?

UPDATE: OK, so now it is being reported that Keanu did NOT make these comments about Matrix 4 and 5 … but the “Wachowskis told him over holidays that they finished script treatments for Matrix 4 and 5 which would bring Neo back.” So, I guess even tho the news comes not directly from Keanu, that plans are still in the works for the sequels.

Willow Smith Films A New Music Video For ’21st Century Girl’

Earlier today we got our first listen at a snippet from Willow Smith‘s new song 21st Century Girl and right now we get to check out a few photos of Willow and her crew on the SoCal set of the song’s music video.


I understand that martial arts superstar Jackie Chan makes an appearance in the video and some of the scenes are being filmed by Willow‘s older brother Jaden Smith. Sounds like this vid is going to be a family affair. Judging by the clip alone, my guess is that 21st Century Girl will be a pretty big hit … I can’t wait to see how the video turns out. What do y’all think of the video based on these on-set photos? Does it look cool or … not?

You Spin Me Around

I kept things pretty low key yesterday. After 5 straight nights out on the town last week and into the weekend, I decided I needed a day off. Waking up with a sore throat was not fun but I did manage to fend it off for the rest of the day (God Bless, Luden’s). Because I stayed home all day, I got caught up on some TV, watched a few movies and — of course — spun a few records.


I spent my afternoon/evening listening to Parade by Prince & the Revolution, Spring Session M by Missing Persons and Can’t Hold Back by Eddie Money. I am very happy to report that my vinyl collection has grown pretty significantly in the past few weeks, so much so that I had to invest in a third milk crate to store them (along with future vinyl additions to my collection):


The smaller red crate is for 10″ and 45 records. As I’ve said repeatedly since I got my record player for Xmas, music is fun for me again! I love laying out on the floor in front of my player listening to albums in full that I haven’t heard in years:


Good times, y’all … Good times.

I don’t have any plans for tonight … so I may stay in again. It’s been beautiful out so mebbe I’ll find a nice outdoor cafe to read for a bit. I really miss David (he won’t be back from Florida for a few more days) so I’m just trying to make the most out of my alonetime. Happy Monday.

Once upon a time, the sight of Matthew McConaughey wearing very little clothing was a semi-daily occurrence. Then, he started having babies with Camila Alves … the clothes got put on … and stayed on. But every once in a while, Matthew strips down again to remind us all of the bounty we used to enjoy. This weekend, Matthew went for a shirtless jog along the beach here in SoCal … and he was lookin’ pretty damn good.


Blame it on the warm weather, blame on his nostalgic need to strip down again … who cares? All that matters is that we get to see new photos of Matty boy in all his shirtless glory. And all is right with the world again.

Jake Gyllenhaal Hides His Newly Clean-Shaven Face

When last we saw Jake Gyllenhaal here on the blog he was sneaking back to LA after he reportedly flew to Nashville, TN to see his ex-girlfriend or whatever Taylor Swift last week. Today, we get to see new photos of Jake … who apparently decided to shave off all of his facial hair, not that he wants YOU to see his newly clean-shaven face.


HMMM … I wonder why Jakey was being so secretive. It’s not like we haven’t seen him sans beard before … I wonder what gives? Do you think he was horribly embarrassed by the fact that word got out that he went back to visit Taylor Swift AGAIN after he reportedly dumped her over the phone last month? It’s alright Jake, we’re all human. To be honest, I like Jake with a beard, without a beard … with his clothes on, without his clothes on (OK, I really like him without his clothes on) so I’ll take him in any way, shape or form. Don’t hide your face, Jake … it’s so not fair to the rest of us.

Orlando Bloom Takes His Newborn Son To The Park

Last week we got our first look at Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom‘s newborn baby son Flynn in a photo released to the world in Miranda‘s official skincare line website (not to mention a look at new daddy Orlando toasting the birth of his son at a local bar). Today we get another look at little Flynn, this time with his daddy, on his first visit to the park here in SoCal.


ZOMG! How CUTE are these photos? Not for nothing, that first photo of Flynn nursing from his mother’s breast was really freakin’ cute … but these photos are just … adorable in a whole new way. Look at those little footsies! He’s so tiny … and pink. This father and son combo is just killin’ me.

Damn, now I want a baby.

The 2011 Golden Raspberry Award Nominations Have Been Announced

The 2011 Academy Awards won’t be announced until early tomorrow but today we learn which actors and films garnered nominations for the dubious anti-Oscars awards ceremony The Golden Raspberry Awards. As you may know, the Razzies “honor” the worst of the worst in film for the previous year … and leading the pack in nominations this time around are the films The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Last Airbender as well as actress Jennifer Aniston.

M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender” and the vampire cast of the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” own the dubious distinction of garnering the most Razzie Award nominations for 2010. Each film received nine nominations Monday morning for the award program that proudly “dishonors Worst Achievements in Film.” Razzie repeat offender Shyamalan was nominated as worst director for “Airbender.” The film is also up for worst picture, worst remake, worst screenplay, worst screen couple/ensemble (the entire cast). The movie is also up for a brand new award, Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D. That critically dissed film is up against “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” for top dishonors. That saga took nominations for all three of its main actors — Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. The entire cast is up for worst screen ensemble. The movie itself is up for worst picture. Rounding out the worst picture list is the “Twilight” parody “Vampires Suck,” “Sex & The City 2″ and Jennifer Aniston’s “The Bounty Hunter.” Three Oscar-winning divas are among nominees for worst supporting actress — Cher for “Burlesque,” Liza Minelli for “Sex and the City 2″ and Barbra Streisand for “Little Fockers.” The “winners” of the 31st annual Razzie Awards will be announced at Hollywood’s Barnsdall Gallery Theatre on February 26 — the night before the Oscars.

I have to say — with all due respect to the shittyness of The Last Airbender et al. — the worst movie of the year, IMHO, was deffo Sex and the City 2. Each and every person involved with SaTC2 deserves to be honored with their own Golden Raspberry Award … and then severely pummeled with them. But … there were a lot of crappy films in 2010 so I guess there is a lot of Razzies love to go around. Here is a full list of 2011 Golden Raspberry Award nominations:

Altho we don’t know for sure when little Willow Smith, featured this month in the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine, will be dropping her debut album, today we do get to hear a short clip from a new song of hers titled 21st Century Girl.


Altho the snippet is only 20 seconds long, we do get a surprisingly good feel for what the track will sound like:



I don’t know about you but 21st Century Girl sounds like a great album title, don’t it? I’m sure it won’t be long until this full song makes its way to the Internets … I can’t wait to hear more.

Oprah Winfrey Reveals A BIG FAMILY SECRET

On Saturday we learned that Oprah Winfrey would be revealing a SHOCKING family secret on today’s episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show and right now we learn what that secret is. There was much speculation over the weekend as to what Oprah‘s secret could be and now the cat is out of the bag. The reveal was/will be made on today’s ep of The Oprah Winfrey Show (which may not yet have aired in your part of the country) so avert your eyes if you’d like to be surprised while watching the show itself.

Ta Da! It turns out that Oprah discovered that she has a half-sister that she never knew she had! And, in celebration of her finding a new sister, Oprah decided to give away sisters to EVERYONE IN HER AUDIENCE TODAY!

Oprah Winfrey says she’s learned she has a half-sister she never knew about. Winfrey announced on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that aired on Monday that a Milwaukee woman named Patricia discovered that the two were half-sisters. The woman says she had been searching for years for the identity of the mother who gave her up for adoption in 1963. She says she learned in 2007 that Winfrey was her half-sister. On her program, Winfrey says she learned about Patricia last November. Winfrey says she was 9 years old and living with her father when her mother had the daughter and gave her up for adoption. She says she never even knew her mother was pregnant. Winfrey says the two met on Thanksgiving day.

OK … so Oprah didn’t really give away sisters on her show today … but she did find a new sister for herself and I couldn’t be happier. I bet it’s strange to meet a person after so many years and discover that you are family … especially for single mom from Milwaukee, WI Patricia — Oprah‘s new sister:


IMHO, finding a sister is way more significant than finding a new cousin, siblings share a bond that is unmatched among family members. I suspect it’s been quite a happy couple of months for Oprah‘s sister as well … especially since she learned that her sister is one of the richest people in the world. It’s a Happy Day for the Oprah Winfrey family … this is really great news, yeah?

Aaron Carter Checks In To Rehab

Oh, Aaron … again? Aaron Carter, the younger former pop-star brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, checked himself in to rehab this month in order to deal with his ongoing addiction problems. As you may recall, Carter announced his engagement to his girlfriend Maile Hochuli last April and then in May went on the record about Lindsay Lohan‘s problems with the law (he was all for her harsh punishment). Today, the focus is back on Aaron … and his new stint in rehab.

Singer Aaron Carter has entered a rehab center to treat addiction issues, a source tells E! exclusively. The 23-year-old former Dancing With the Stars contestant checked into a private Southern California facility earlier this month, says the source. The source reveals that Carter’s choice to go to rehab was his move to “finally get help” and not a court-mandated decision. “He was struggling recently and needed this,” adds a source. Once a teen star (and reported romantically linked to both Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff), Carter has most recently been in Orlando working on his new album. But friends and family are said to have urged that he stop working and fly to LA to seek treatment … Carter hasn’t let his reported rehab stint stifle his tweeting habits, posting positive and inspirational messages on Twitter over the past couple weeks, including “I had a great day with my brother @NickCarter he always comes to bat for me when others believe someone else over me!” and “Life Has Its up’s & Downs, You Can Only Live & Learn. Never Lose Faith!! & Always Believe In Yourself! As I Am learning To Do Every day.” The last time Carter was in the news was December 24, when rumor of his overdose took over Twitter. Johnny Wright, Carter’s manager, shot down the claim, telling E!, “Aaron Carter is alive and well at my compound in Orlando…” A rep for Carter could not be reached for comment.

Ugh … this poor kid is such a mess :( Poor thing. Once upon a time Aaron Carter had the world in the palm of hands, a la Justin Bieber, but temptation and addiction clearly got their firm claws dug way into him and he’s been living a messy, somewhat failed life ever since. I am not sure if he actually went thru with his proposed marriage to Maile Hochuli which is prolly a good thing. Clearly the poor guy needs to get his own life in order before he commits himself to being married to anyone.

Let’s wish Aaron Carter the best of luck … it sounds like he’s gonna need it.
