Charlie Sheen was in New York yesterday with his ex-wife Denise Richards and their daughters. There were lots of photos of the family and the signal we were supposed to get was "See? Charlie isn't a coked-out drunk incapable of healthy relations with a woman." Charlie has a way of ruining the careful planning of his media team though. The NY Post reports that just hours after his photo-op with Denise and the girls, Charlie was found Charlie drunk and naked, trashing his hotel room. Ah, Charlie. You just couldn't let Mel Gibson have the headlines, could you?
Police were called to The Plaza Hotel just after 2 a.m. where they found a highly intoxicated and naked Charlie Sheen amid a trashed hotel suite, sources said.
Tables and chairs had been thrown around the room, causing hotel security to call 911, sources said. A chandelier was also damaged.
Sheen was taken to the hospital for unspecified reasons. His ex-wife Denise Richards, who was staying in a separate room, accompanied him.
Sheen told police he had been “out partying,” sources said. After he returned to his room with an unidentified woman, he noticed his wallet was missing, causing him to fly into a rage, sources said.
Sheen was apparently in town with Richards and their children. Sheen currently stars on the CBS sitcom “Two and Half Men.”
What would you do if you found a naked, drunk and violent Charlie Sheen? Oh, that reminds me. I wanted to buy a Taser. That's what I would do - I would tase the Sheen dong. Just for the hell of it. Well, to get him to calm down.
By the way, do you think the "unidentified woman" was a hooker? You know she was.
UPDATE:TMZ is reporting that Charlie is being hospitalized. I like the suggestion of alcohol poisoning. Perhaps. I also think it’s a possibility that Charlie’s team is going to play this incident for sympathy - like, oh, poor Charlie, he got robbed! The hooker hit him on the head! She tasered his dong!
UPDATE: HAHAHAHA!!! Life & Style is reporting the incident is much worse than previously reported. Here’s their story:
Life & Style has learned that police were called to The Plaza Hotel in New York City to find an incoherent Charlie Sheen in bed with an escort at 2 a.m. this morning. The police found a half-naked Charlie passed out on the bed and a woman, who was identified as an escort, screaming from inside the closet. “She was fearing for her life and was naked,” a source tells Life & Style. “Charlie was incoherent but started screaming slurs at the cops. They recognized him immediately and gave him two options: they could take him to the hospital or take him down to the station. Charlie chose the hospital.”
The source says his hotel room at The Plaza Hotel was trashed, leaving $7,000 in hotel damages. The Two and Half Men star made a scene for neighboring guests, which included his ex-wife Denise Richards and their two daughters, Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, as the family had arrived to town days earlier for a family vacation and were all staying in separate rooms in the Plaza.
“His two daughters were sleeping in the next room,” says the source. “Denise had to go with the cops and leave the girls with a nanny. She looked distraught.”
Guests saw Charlie, clad only in shorts and a bathrobe, exiting the hotel into an ambulance at 2:30 a.m. “The paramedics were heard calling it an overdose,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “But he was definitely awake before leaving the hotel as he made the choice to go there and not the jail.”
So we were correct - the woman was an escort. But the hooker didn’t rob him - she was too busy screaming for help, having been locked in the closet by this drunken buffoon. Oh, Charlie. You crazy f-cking bastard.
I completely missed these new photos of Demi Moore at last night's event for Glamour Magazine's "Reel Moments". Glamour gets a series of female celebrities to direct short films based on stories submitted to the magazine - and Demi, Eva Mendes and Jessica Biel were in attendance last night. Biel continued her theme of not being allowed to walk any red carpet with Justin Timberlake - JT didn't even show up for the event, but allegedly he checked in for the after-party. Biel was in Oscar de la Renta, by the way. Too fussy for her features, right? And that hair is wrong for the dress. It looks like a horse swathed in lace.
Demi was flying solo as well. No Ashton! Wonder where he was, hm? But Demi did make sure that she showed the world how HOT she is. Because everyone loves to see a 48 year old woman who thinks showing her bra is "cool". Demi is SO HIP! So stylish. The blouse is Balmain, by the way. And don't even get me started on the pleather leggings. Ugh. As Lainey points out, Demi is trying to send the message: I'm so hot, so of course my marriage is fine. Meanwhile, Star Magazine is just sitting around, still not getting sued for their three covers calling Ashton a cheater. Interesting.
Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon are the cover "boys" for the November issue of Men's Journal, to promote their film Hereafter (Matt stars, Clint directs). The article and Q&A is affectionate, and you can tell that the two men like each other a great deal. The writer even goes so far as to say that Matt's the "favorite son" of tough-guy Clint. Here are some excerpts:
Clint Eastwood, tall and silvery and calm, with thinning hair that's grown flyaway, is dressed in a pair of securely belted dark slacks and an immaculate white golf shirt. He crosses the lobby of a Toronto hotel, headed toward a table near the bar. At 80 and past concealing that fact, he looks like the wise old blue-eyed patriarch of an alternative-history America that has never lost a war or run a deficit. He comes off like a man with few worries and few regrets who lives by the Spartan motto "Get on with it" and has learned to dismiss his animal needs. When a nervous waiter sidles up to ask him what he'd like to drink, he answers gently, "Nothing, thank you." Is there something he'd like to eat, perhaps? There isn't.
Across the table from Eastwood, drinking coffee, sits his friend Matt Damon. He's half Eastwood's age and perhaps two-thirds his height, but he shares some of the old master's famed tenacity. He's also, as Eastwood used to be, an action hero with a brain who harbors long-term plans to use it by making movies of substance and integrity. In a show of affection rare in nature between alpha males, the two men greet each other with broad, sweet grins that even trained actors would have trouble faking.
They're cute together.
Damon on how they met: “We met in a bar, a gay bar. I saw something in him through the eye slits of the Hannibal Lecter mask that he was wearing.”
Damon on The Departed, and on tough guys: "I went up to Marty [Scorsese] and said, 'I want to lose every fight I'm in and I don't want my dick to work.' Anybody I've met in my life who really is tough, there's no swagger, there's no raising your voice. You sit down and talk to a guy from the Delta Force, it's very pleasant and calm."
Eastwood on Damon: “You get a feeling about somebody that they’re the kind of person who just likes to stand and deliver. And he is. He knows – he instinctively knows [what it takes to be a good director]. When he directs he’s going to be great at it because he understands actors.”
Although it seems like a strange pairing, I can totally see how Clint and Matt are tight now, although I think writers are stretching the father-son likeness a bit. Matt has done some great action work, notably in the Bourne series, but he'll never be quite as badass and lovely as Clint. That's not a bad thing, though - because I can't think of anyone who will ever be as badass as Clint.
Last night was the premiere of For Colored Girls, the Tyler Perry film based on the ground-breaking play. This is how Ms. Janet Jackson showed up - in this strange red and black pantsuit number that I have mixed feelings about. If I could see this as just the pants and the weird wrap top, I think I would have loved it. But with the added jacket and the strange skirt… it's just too much. BUT - Janet still kind of rocks it. Hmpf. Anyway, Janet's date last night was not her Qatari boyfriend Wissam al Mana! She took her nephew instead, although Janet did confirm that she and Wissam are still together, though not engaged:

Asked Monday at the NYC premiere of her new drama, For Colored Girls, if her billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana popped the question, she laughed.
“No, no, no,” she told Us. “I’m not engaged.”
The two are heating up, however.
Since meeting last December at an event in the Middle East, they’ve been spotted a lot together lately.
The New York Post reports he even “whisked Janet off for a romantic break in Sardinia this summer and friends credit him with helping her cope with the death of her brother Michael.”
Even if they were engaged, I doubt we would know about it. Janet plays everything so tight, bless her heart. And while I don't love the outfit, I will say that Janet is looking really good lately - I like her transition to dramatic actress, and her association with Tyler Perry. They seem to be genuinely tight, and this may be Janet's year for an Oscar nomination. You never know.
I have to admit to only having the vaguest idea of who actress Rachael Leigh Cook was prior to reading these recent comments. She’s just not on my radar, so I asked Kaiser if she knew of her. She remembers her from 1999’s She’s All That, and says the film “was so horrible, it was actually charming.” Rachael seems to be doing TV work now and I guess she’s on USA’s Psych. Anyway Rachael was a guest at a conference on media impact on youth, and she was very outspoken in her opposition to the rampant Photoshopping that goes on in the industry. I really like what she had to say, although I find her stance a little severe.
Actress Rachael Leigh Cook has joined forces with Academy Award winner Geena Davis, The Creative Coalition, and Girl Scouts of the USA for a Summit in Washington, D.C to address the impact of media images on youth. The group addressed particularly the struggle girls go through reconciling media’s idealized portrayal of women with their own bodies and self-worth.
"I did not grow up getting told about how manipulated the images we see of women and girls out there are, and I think it’s an absolute travesty that young women are seeing what the media is feeding them,” Cook told Pop Tarts. “It breaks my heart to be part of an industry and part of a machine that really pushes out these images and propagates these really terrible standards that are false."
This is something Cook, 31, can relate to first-hand. After completing her first film "The Babysitter's Club" at age 15 in 1995, the actress battled her own body image-related demons.
"I remember gaining quite a bit of weight on the first movie that I worked on because, 'hey, free food!'. You’re at that stage where your body is just changing so actively, so it was a natural change, but I remember finishing that film and realizing that I had gained probably 10 pounds over the course of filming which is a lot when you’re only 5′2,” Cook said. “I knew then that I needed to go and really try and get healthy. I went too far in the other direction and I worried my parents for a while, I think it’s fair to say. I think that it’s something that many, many teenage girls go through, especially ones that are achievers and ambitious. You’re looking for a sense of control, and when you’re in a really transitional phase in your teenage years, I think it’s a pretty normal reaction to develop food issues."
The "She's All That" star is now not only urging youth to go online and Google "Photoshop Tutorial" to learn exactly what experts do to the images of all the celebrities and models out there, but she also wants the American public to know that even papparazi snaps aren't all they're purported to be.
"Nothing that you see is real, even if you look at what looks like a candid photo of someone, anything can be done. It is false advertising and false advertising is a crime so why isn’t this a crime? I’m just up in arms about it," Cook added. "People need to know that there are actual lenses that are put on cameras that make people stretched out. If you saw these actors in person, you wouldn’t even recognize them as the people you see on TV. It’s just all a complete illusion and maybe it should be viewed as art, the way that art isn’t real. The way that a picture of a rose can be beautiful, but it’s not a real rose."
I don’t think we should criminalize Photoshop at all, but some kind of small print disclaimer might be called for, i.e. “image has been digitally altered.” This will probably never happen, is too difficult to execute and I’m not really arguing for it, but wouldn’t it be interesting if all advertisements and magazines were required to include a link where people could view the original image prior to editing? Like just to show the reality of the original image even with lighting, makeup and hair? They’d come up with new ways to make the original photos more flattering, but it might cut down on the massive Photoshopping that goes on.
A commenter on one of our Kirstie Alley “weight loss” posts once pointed me to this Exif viewer which allows you to see how much a photo is edited based on file data. I don’t really understand how it works, but it tells you how many times the photo was edited and saved, which in the case of the Kirstie Alley legless weightless photo was something like 16 times. When we saw Kirstie again after she supposedly lost 50 pounds she definitely didn’t look as thin as she did in that photo.
So does Photoshopping give impressionable young people unrealistic body ideals? Definitely. Maybe with more awareness of how easy it is to digitally alter photos we’ll help protect our kids from the negative impact of those images. Even if you realize that the models really aren’t as thin and gorgeous as they look in the ads, they still have the power to make you feel unattractive, though. They also have the power to sell you crap you don’t need, and that’s what this is really all about.

Willow Smith continues to give interviews in support of her hit single, "Whip My Hair". I just watched the video again this morning (on VH1), and I currently have it stuck in my head, which is really annoying and I know, totally random. Anyway, Willow seems to think that she's super-successful these days because of her own hard work, and how she always dreamt of "being famous like mommy and daddy." That's a pet peeve of mine for the younger generation. All too often, they don't say they want to be "successful" or "be a really great —". They say they want to be "famous". Ugh. Anyway, here's more:
Willow Smith has confessed that she is proud of herself for having secured a record deal at such a young age. The 9-year-old - who signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label last month - released the video for her first single ‘Whip My Hair’ on Monday.
“It felt like all the hard work paid off, mostly that,” she told MTV News about the signing. “Like all the hard work that I’ve done, like recording ‘Whip My Hair’ - it’s paid off.”
Recalling the day of her big meeting with the label, she said: “We went to this building, I don’t remember what it was, but we had a meeting and I got to hang out with [Jay-Z] and meet him, and it was fun.”
When Willow Smith explains why she entered the music business, she talks about expressing her individuality, and wanting to help people with her message. But she also acknowledges that she wanted to be famous like her “mommy and daddy.”
She’s well on her way now. The 9-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has become a viral sensation with her first single, “Whip My Hair.” The official version of the video has gotten more than 7 million views on YouTube; there was even a popular video that mashed the song with the Sesame Street “I Love My Hair” video (which she laughed and called “very funny”).
Willow’s funky song, which makes its debut on iTunes on Tuesday, is even being played in the clubs, and she’s due to release her first album on Jay-Z’s Roc Nation sometime next year.
In a phone interview Monday, Willow said she was “very surprised” about the success of the song, but said she thought the song’s message was resonating with listeners: “I just think that it’s like, individuality that they’re excited about.”
Willow first entered the limelight three years ago, playing the daughter of her father’s character in the blockbuster movie “I Am Legend.” At that time, it seemed as if she would follow in the acting footsteps of her parents, much like her brother, Jaden, who earlier this year had his own smash movie with the remake of “The Karate Kid.”
But Willow was more influenced by her parents’ musical careers: Will Smith is a Grammy winner who got his start rapping, and Jada Pinkett Smith has toured the country as part of a metal band.
“I would go on tour with them and watch them and I’d be like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s what I wanna do,’” she said. Willow said she decided not to wait to pursue her musical career until she got older – say, as a teenager.
“I wanted to make a difference now, (and) because I wanted to be big and famous like my mommy and daddy and help people,” she said.
Well, at least she added "help people" at the end. It's strange to think of someone being helped by a 9-year-old's largesse, but stranger things have happened, and I do think/hope that Will and Jada have stressed the importance of charity and "giving back." Will is known as a nice guy who treats everyone with respect, so hopefully Willow will follow in his footsteps.
Over the weekend, I read this bitchy report from The Daily Mail - they claimed that after Carey Mulligan and Shia LaBeouf split, Carey had moved out of Shia's mansion and was "slumming it" at a cheap Best Western in LA while she completed work on Drive, the film that she's doing with Ryan Gosling. The point of The Mail's piece was "Isn't it pathetic that an Oscar-nominated actress would choose budget lodgings?" Well, anyway, last night Carey attended the Hollywood Film Awards, and she confirmed the Best Western report in her standard adorable way, and she also pretty much confirmed that she and Shia are over:
Carey Mulligan and Shia LaBeouf have said goodbye to their romance, PEOPLE has confirmed. The Transformers star and the Never Let Me Go actress, who were first linked in August 2009 after being spotted kissing at a New York restaurant, called it quits “some time ago,” according to sources.
Since the split, Mulligan has been in Los Angeles shooting the indie film Drive, opposite Ryan Gosling. She checked in to the Best Western Hollywood Hills Hotel for a few days while the film shot nearby.
“I don’t know why people are so down on the Best Western,” Mulligan joked to PEOPLE at Monday’s Hollywood Film Awards in L.A., where she presented her Never Let Me Go costar Andrew Garfield with an award. “They have the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had.”
The hotel is known for its 101 Coffee Shop, which was featured in 1996’s Swingers and is a popular late night diner for young Hollywood.
“I don’t know why people are so down on the Best Western." I love that. And hey, it could totally be worse: she could be staying at the Chateau Marmont, you know? She's young, she's cool, she's working hard - why not spend your time in comfortable accommodations on a budget? Sidenote: did anyone read her profile in the October Vogue? She also proudly takes public transport in whatever city she's in. When Warren Beatty found out she was taking the bus to meetings, he offered to chauffeur her around town too. How could you not? I would offer her a ride too.
Immediately after Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced their split, David went on the Howard Stern show and got extremely candid. We focused on the aspect of their trial separation, and how Courteney was likely screwing around with Brian Van Holt, while David found comfort with a one night stand (allegedly). At one point, David did claim that he was "begging" Courteney to come back to him, and that he had high hopes for a reconciliation. I believed it at the time - I believed that in David's mind, he did want to get back with his wife, and I believed that Courteney had no interest in any kind of reconciliation. Well, I'm going to have to eat sh-t a little bit. Because while David might have been angling for reconciliation then, I don't think he is now. I think he's a man about town, and I think he's going out and trying to nail every young(er) girl he find:

He dropped by the joint birthday party for Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup of “90210″ on Saturday at Beacher’s Madhouse in LA, a new venue at the Roosevelt Hotel that he co-owns with David Beacher. Arquette led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” while the girls were presented with a giant cake. Guests included Brittany Snow, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Brandon Davis and “90210″ co-stars AnnaLynne McCord, Ryan Eggold and Trevor Donovan.
Why, David? Why are you hanging out at parties for the 90210 girls? Why did you throw a birthday party for Hayden Panettiere? Why are you only hanging around girls in their early twenties? Why are you hanging out at the Chateau Marmont? You're 39 years old, for the love of God. Go home and get some sleep.
Is this The New David? The New David who looks pretty sexy and has good hair and wears nice clothes and yes, spends his time hanging out with younger women? Or is David just spiraling?
Jessica Simpson is taking part in a women's conference in California this week. Sure. Why not? As much as I mock Jess, I guess she does stand for a successful female entrepreneur - her clothing line makes a ton of money, and apparently the clothes aren't bad quality or anything. Beyond that, though, would you want Jess speaking at your conference for and about women? Eh. Anyway, USA Today got an interview with Jess during the conference, and she talked about her lover Eric Johnson, as well as her ex-husband Nick Lachey, and how they ran into each other last week.
Jessica Simpson seems really happy these days.
“I am,” she told USA TODAY’s Ann Oldenburg Monday night in an interview at the Women’s Conference in Long Beach, Calif.
Should we thank her football player boyfriend Eric Johnson for that? “He definitely makes me very happy. He brings out a lot of light in me and makes me very comfortable being who I am. It’s nice to be with somebody who praises you for the right reasons.”
A turning point was her celebrating her 30th birthday in July. “I love being 30. The moment I turned 30, I really did feel a switch in my life. I was in Capri and I was with my boyfriend and my family and my friends, and I just felt this coming of age moment, this moment where I really just felt the happiest I’ve ever been and I love the woman inside of me.”
But she doesn’t seem to be feeling the clock ticking and isn’t thinking about a wedding. “Wedding? Right now I’m focused on my precious nephew and godson.” However, she adds, “I am from the south so I’ve definitely dreamed of being married my whole life and having children, so hopefully that’s in my future.”
Not even bumping into her ex, Nick Lachey last week in Hollywood could dampen her good mood. “He was at the same restaurant,” she confirms. “I didn’t speak to him.”
What she wants to speak about is self-esteem. She will appear at a Dove-sponsored session on Tuesday that includes Gayle King and Katherine Schwarzenegger talking about building self-esteem in young women.
“I went through a really hard time, a couple years back with people just harping on the pressure of how to look perfect - obviously using me and my weight. It was a tabloid frenzy,” says Simpson. And she’s still scrutinized. “I feel like people are constantly curious as to how much I weigh or what I look like or what I wear.”
It would be impossible not to notice it, she says. “There’s no way you’re not going to be affected by the ugly things people say about you. It’s very hurtful. It definitely brings up a lot of your own insecurities. It takes a great family and wonderful friends - and love definitely helps, too - to get through it.”
Her response was to do The Price of Beauty TV show for VH1, which explored beauty around the world. And now she’s working on a new incarnation of that focusing on facing your fears. “It is a lot about self esteem, about finding yourself in a different way. A lot of it has to deal with fear — facing your fears and knowing if you face that fear it will make you better as a person. It will be a challenge for women around the world. I will face the fear with them.”
She says she’s “pulling it together” now, and while she isn’t ready to announce a network or air date, she says, “We already have offers from all around.”
Ask her what she’s afraid of and she says, “There’s a lot of things I’m afraid of.” Such as sky diving and stand-up comedy, she says, too thing she’ll attempt on the show. But before that, Simpson says she has just recorded her second holiday album, Happy Christmas, which will be carried exclusively by Macy’s and will be out Nov. 23. So for Thanksgiving, we should look for her on a float at the Macy’s Day Parade.
“It’ll be my first Thanksgiving in New York,” she says. And she plans to have a nice traditional dinner. “We’re getting a stove and an oven put in our hotel room. I will be cooking. After riding on the float for hours.”
After our chat, Simpson sat with Maria Shriver and Oprah Winfrey Show contributor Ali Wentworth for a similar discussion on the main stage. She brought up the fear show and mentioned sky diving to them, too, to which Wentworth replied: “I’ve gone sky diving!”
“Did you pee?” asked Simpson, stunning Wentworth for a second. “I’m afraid I’m going to pee my pants.” Said Wentworth: “I’m not going with you, then.”
In that discussion, Wentworth asked what a day of pampering is like for Simpson. “A good pampering day for me would be vegging out on the couch, eating whatever the heck I want to eat and watching all my TV shows.”
Normally, a pet might be snuggled up with her, but, she says, “Unfortunately, my little Daisy was taken by a coyote earlier this year. I’m not ready to get another dog yet.”
Given all the discussion of weight and body image, Shriver asked Simpson about the role of food in her life. “When I’m hungry, I’ll eat,” said Simpson. “When I’m not hungry, I won’t. I’m not really that much of a calorie counter, but I do think about it. I make sure I’m working out to make sure I feel good about myself.”
She then admitted, “I’m from Texas, I like everything fried, which is the really unfortunate thing. My relationship with food? I want it when I’m sad. When I’m happy, I don’t think much about it. But I do like to go out on a date for a good dining experience. It’s important not to say, ‘I can’t have this’ because then I obsess about it.”
Did she ever think about just packing it up and going home to Texas during moments of pain in the spotlight? “Heck, yeah!” said Simpson. “Many times I wanted to surrender and give up. But I have a calling in my life. And if I have to go throught that scrutiny, I will.” Calling? “I just want to be a part of changing the world. Is that too much to ask?”
My favorite part is when Jessica saying that she doesn't want to sky dive because she's afraid she'll pee. Classic Jessica! At least she knows herself well enough to know that she's not always in control over her body's farting, burping, barfing and pissing. I imagine she goes through every day thinking "Will this be the day that I shart on myself?"
My second favorite part is where she's trying to act like she's not thinking about marriage at all, and then she backtracks and admits that it's what she really wants because she's a Southern girl. Oh, Jess. We know you want to get married. There's no shame in it!
Other sites have carried these photos, but since we have access to them and they're really hot, I thought "why not?" David Beckham was playing a friendly game of soccer over the weekend and he accidentally got… blood (?) on his shorts, so he had to change clothes halfway through the game. He changed on the sidelines. So photographers got lots of photos of Beckham in his man-panties. You can see a preview of his “tractor exhaust pipe” dong (Posh’s words).
Can I just say… hot damn! I'm not usually into Beckham for the most part, although I will acknowledge that he has a nice body. But there's something very erotic about this to me. I guess it's just… knowing that his tight ass wears briefs to play, or maybe it's the memory/gossip that Beckham loves to kiss passionately when he makes love to hookers. Damn, these photos are good. Enjoy the man-candy.
