You gotta admit, Amy Winehouse really cleans up well. I don’t really see how these designs are all that different from the usual Fred Perry fare but, to be honest, the clothes do have an Amy Winehouse-ness about them. The only thing that would make them even more Amy-like would be if they were ripped in some parts and blood-stained. After the jump, check out a few more photos …
Meh … the clothes ain’t half bad. I still don’t think associating with Amy Winehouse will generate more sales but … at least she looks good. If YOU would like to own any of these pieces form the Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry collection, you can get them HERE.
Rihanna, lookin’ so fresh and so clean, is featured on the cover and in the pages of British Marie Claire magazine. Ri Ri is featured on not one but two different covers for the mag … first up, here is Rihanna on the cover of the subscriber’s issue of British Marie Claire:
She looks great, don’t she? I mean … even with the horrid Ronald McDonald hair, Ri Ri looks great on the cover of MC mag. I’m a bit perturbed by the fact that they are already pimpin’ out Xmas but … ack, what’re ya gonna do? After the jump, check out Rihanna‘s other Marie Claire coverphoto which will be made available on newsstands when the magazine goes on sale …
Yeah, I don’t like this cover as much as the subscriber coverphoto … but she does look good overall. I’m not saying that the red hair is growing on me but … I guess I don’t hate it as much as I used to. What do you think, do y’all like these photos?
Nicki Minaj, who’s debut album Pink Friday will be released on Monday November 22, has just released the official music video for her new single Check It Out. The song, which features will.i.am on guest vocals, has been gettin’ lots of airplay in recent weeks … and now the video is upon us:
The song is really catchy, particularly because it samples the infectious music of Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles. The video isn’t as weird as some might expect from the adventurous Nicki Minaj … but I love it. After the jump, check out the music video for Check It Out …
Be warned, this version of the video features explicit language:
I love the track, love the video … I’m glad it’s not so over the top. I am so anxious to hear the rest of Nicki‘s album … if this song is any indication, I’m gonna love it entirely. What do YOU think of Nicki‘s new video?
Great news Nine Inch Nails fans … Trent Reznor has got a treat for all of us! 21 years after the release of NIN‘s debut album, TR is re-releasing Pretty Hate Machine in a remastered form, complete with new album artwork created by longtime NIN visual director Rob Sheridan. Here is our first look at the album artwork for Pretty Hate Machine – The Remaster and the full text of the press release announcement:
Fans can now revisit the conception of Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor’s Null Corporation has teamed with UMe/The Bicycle Music Company to release “Pretty Hate Machine: 2010 Remaster” on November 22, 2010. After completing the score for David Fincher’s The Social Network, Reznor oversaw the digital remastering of Pretty Hate Machine from the newly unearthed original tapes with engineer Tom Baker (whose NIN credits include “The Downward Spiral,” “Broken,” “The Fragile,” “With Teeth” and “Ghosts”). This remastered version includes an eleventh track, a cover of Queen’s “Get Down Make Love,” originally the B-side to the “Sin” single and produced by Al Jourgensen. Rob Sheridan, NIN’s longtime art director, has also re-imagined the packaging of “Pretty Hate Machine” under Reznor’s supervision. As a young musician in Cleveland, Ohio, Reznor took a job at a local recording studio and employed unused studio time to develop his own material. The nascent album was later recorded with his favorite producers including Flood/Mark Ellis (U2, Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey), John Fryer (Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil), Adrian Sherwood (Ministry, Cabaret Voltaire) and Keith LeBlanc (Tackhead). The result was the first Nine Inch Nails album, 1989′s “Pretty Hate Machine.” All songs were written, arranged, programmed and performed by Reznor. The album featured the breakthrough singles “Sin,” “Down In It” and “Head Like A Hole,” and ultimately sold over 3 million copies, reaching Triple Platinum sales status. In the wake of the album’s initial underground success, NIN soon developed a reputation as one of the best live acts in rock and joined the inaugural Lollapalooza tour in 1991. NIN have since sold more than 18 million albums, collected Grammy® Awards and headlined arenas, amphitheaters and festivals worldwide. The Bicycle Music Company acquired the rights to “Pretty Hate Machine” from a division of Prudential Securities in the spring of 2010. It was Bicycle’s intention from the onset to enable Reznor to regain some control of this lost piece of NIN’s legacy, resulting in this artist approved 2010 reissue of one of music’s most groundbreaking and influential albums. Note: The previous CD version was reissued in 2005 but was not overseen by Reznor and is now out of print.
This is FANTASTIC news! Pretty Hate Machine introduced the world to Nine Inch Nails and remains one of my all-time favorite albums. PHM had a huge impact on my life when it was released back in 1989, one that still resonates today. I am really excited that the album is finally being rereleased in remastered format. You have to wonder … what other NIN albums might be remastered and rereleased? I can’t wait to find out. In the meantime, I’ll be counting down the days to November 22 when Pretty Hate Machine – The Remaster gets released in stores. If you so desire, you can preorder the album from AmazonHERE. Who’s excited?
As I mentioned yesterday, David and I met up with our dear friends Emma and Josh for a 25th anniversary screening of the classic 80′s film Back to the Future:
To accommodate Em and J-Z, we decided to head down to Marina del Rey, CA for the screening … and we had a BLAST! Emma showed up with a case of mini Yellow Tail wine and, well, it made the movie’s awesomeness even awesomer. I couldn’t get over how perfectly BTTF captures the spirit of the 1980′s … in almost every scene (well, set in 1985) there is a pop culture icon featured in the film … from portable cassette players (in this case Aiwa not Sony), to jean jackets with buttons on them … to those famous Nike sneakers. OY! I just love the movie so much … it was really a dream come true seeing it on the big screen for the first time ;D
After the movie we went out for a quick sushi dinner and decided to call it a night:
Last night was so much fun … we’ll be hanging with Josh and Emma all Halloween weekend long, since October 31 is our Friendiversary.
No plans for tonight … just gonna lie low and enjoy my Tuesday.

It would seem that the rumors of Mariah Carey‘s “pregnancy” just won’t die down … because now instead of merely reporting that Mimi is pregs, some folks claim to know that she is not only pregs but pregs with a boy:
Congrats, Mariah! An insider tells HollyBaby.com that the diva and her husband, Nick Cannon, are expecting a son in March next year and are set to announce their happy news very soon! Mariah Carey is four months pregnant with her first child — a boy! — a source close to the star tells HollyBaby.com. The Grammy award-winning singer and her husband, Nick Cannon, have been tight-lipped about her pregnancy, but she is expected to make an official announcement in the next couple of weeks when she begins promoting her new holiday album, Merry Christmas II You (which is being released on Nov. 2). "She's having a boy, but the reason that Mariah didn't want to say anything is because she is 40, and she's superstitious," the insider says. "But she's going to appear on Oprah and The View, so she's planning on making the announcement soon" … Mariah took fertility drugs to get pregnant, according to the insider, who says, "the fertility drugs were the reason for her weight gain earlier this year." She has also given up drinking alcohol — "she stopped drinking back in March or April this year," the source says.
HMMM … considering how healthier Mariah has looked in recent months, it wouldn’t be too hard to believe that she has been doing fertility treatments but … I won’t believe Mariah is pregs until either she or hubby Nick Cannon confirm the news or she starts baby bumping out. So, yeah, let’s just toss this report onto the pile with the others. That being said, it is possible that some or all of this latest report is true so … we’ll just have to wait and see. What do y’all think … does this report of Mimi‘s pregnancy carry any more weight with you than the other reports do?
She had to deal with the same rumours about her last boyfriend. But Janet Jackson took it all in her stride this morning as she laughed her way through a simple denial – that she is not engaged to her boyfriend of several months Wissam Al Mana. The 44-year-old singer looked radiant as she chatted with the breakfast show host on ABC’s Good Morning America today. Janet was on the show to promote her upcoming film For Colored Girls – a movie based on Ntozake Shange’s play ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.’ Unlike the original play which featured only 7 women known by colours performing the collection of 20 poems, the movie has given each of the 20 characters names. Each of the poems deal with intense issues that particularly impact women in a thought-provoking commentary on what it means to be a female of colour in the world. The film is released on November 5 and has an all star cast including Thandie Newton, Kerry Washington, Whoopie Goldberg, Macy Gray and Michael Ealy. The interview inevitably turned to the singer’s personal life and when asked about her blossoming relationship she shot down any marriage rumours. ‘He is a very private man so i don’t talk about our relationship,’ she said of Al Mana, an Arab businessman she began dating in April after splitting from long-term boyfriend of seven years, music producer, Jermaine Dupri. During that relationship, the couple dodged continuous rumours about an engagement and even a secret wedding. ‘But it is really important that I just say this,’ continued Jackson to the host. ‘They (media) have been trying to marry me off for a very very long time.’ No I am not engaged, I will say that. I am in a really good place.’
Not at all surprising that Janet is not engaged … so I’m glad that’s been settled. I must say, the more I hear about For Colored Girls, the more I am dying to see the film! The trailers that I have seen look so powerful, I am really anxious to see this film. While we may not be congratulating Janet on any upcoming nuptials, we may be congratulating her on a few award nominations.
At the start of this month, Courtney Love “inadvertently” posted a semi-nekkid photo of herself on her official Twitter profile and was so “embarrassed” that she had done so she announced that she was quitting Twitter! Her retirement from Twitter lasted only a few days and then she was back to posting random/meaningless messages and photos as if nothing had happened in the first place. Today we get to see a new photo, shared by C. Love, that shows the trainwreck in bed with a scrubby-lookin’ dude … presumably her boyfriend. Check out the new man in Courtney Love‘s life:
With his long messy bleach blond hair and distinctly grunge look he’s a dead ringer for Kurt Cobain. And maybe that’s the reason that controversial rock chic Courtney Love has the hots for this mystery guy. The 46-year-old just loves to share all the intimate minutiae of her everyday life with her legion of Twitter fans – most recently posting a picture of her and the Kurt lookalike, seemingly naked in bed together. Appearing with her head on the man’s bare tattooed chest, her make-up running, Courtney looks somewhat worse for wear. The man in the photos looks dazed as he leans on the singer, his long bleach-blond hair tangling with hers. The overall look is a startling throwback to that of Courtney’s deceased husband Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain, who shot himself in 1994 aged just 27. And this is not the first time Courtney has shown the world all-too-intimate details of her life. Earlier this month she posted even more provocative shots for the world to see. The shocking photos showed Courtney posing in just her underwear with her hands covering her breasts. In another photo she wore tights and knickers but no skirt as she bends over near a mirror … Courtney, who has candidly spoken about her battle with drug addiction, was so embarrassed by the scandal she temporarily stopped using Twitter.
Courtney and her new man look like a perfect match, wouldn’t you agree?
After months of speculation, MTV officially announced on Monday that "The City" has been cancelled. "'The City' will not be returning to MTV for season three," an MTV spokesperson tells THR exclusively. "Whitney has been a part of our family for many years and we wish her and the cast the best, and hope to collaborate with them again." The show's star, Whitney Port, spoke on air with Ryan Seacrest Monday morning about the fate of the series. "As of right now it doesn't really look like we're doing it anymore," Port said on Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. The spin-off of the network's wildly popular series, "The Hills," developed a stable viewership in its two seasons, but failed to perform as well as its juggernaut predecessor. Port's "Hills" co-star Lauren Conrad announced earlier this month to THR her return to the network and has already begun taping her second MTV series.
And that, folks, is that. While I was marginally entertained by The City, it wasn’t a show that I thought would live very long … turns out, I was right. The last season was interesting only because Elle magazine editor Joe Zee made the show worth watching. I understand Joe managed to get a show of his own away from The City and my guess is that MTV decided to kill the show since they lost the only credible stylista on the series. While news of this cancellation isn’t at all surprising, I guess it is a bit sad. Now that both The Hills and The City are dunzo, it truly feels like that era of MTV programming is now completely over. Trust me, I get that the shows evolved into vapid meaningless over the years but there was a time when those shows, those characters were THE most fun thing to watch on TV. But, all things must come to an end … and it has come for The City.
It won’t be long until we’re mourning the death of Jersey Shore because as popular as the show is right now, it won’t last forever.
UPDATE: Whitney Port says her goodbyes to The City on her official blog HERE.
Harvey Edwards has been a professional photographer for over 40 years and is best known for his ballet pieces including his famous "Leg Warmers" portrait that has sold millions of copies worldwide. Most recently Edwards has been working on a project titled Celebrities and Their Motorcycles and believe it or not, his first celeb captured on a motorcycle is none other than paparazzi and media darling Miss Lindsay Lohan. While these pics were taken earlier in Lilo's career, Edwards recalls working with the starlet. Edwards said, "She was truly wonderful to work with, a true professional and an extremely talented artist." And while this Celebrities and their Motorcycles project is still a work in progress, Edwards explained, "I am always looking for celebrities who would like to be in the book. When creating an image I can either pose them or if they have a vision of themselves with their motorcycle." What inspired the concept of this particular project? Edwards told the Huffington Post, "There are many prints of motorcycles in the marketplace but they are static — no life, just a flat picture of a bike, certainly not what I would call art. Taking that a step further, I will capture the celebrities and their motorcycles as an art form rather than the typical paparazzi picture of just a celebrity with their bike. On a typical Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, a bystander might run into Jay Leno or Arnold Schwarzenegger hanging loose with other motorcyclists at one of the several popular motorcycle ‘hangouts.’” So when can we expect to see the finished project? Edwards said, "I hope to complete the book within a year. So if you are one of those celebrities who would like to be in the book please contact us at Harvey@HarveyEdwards.com."
Edwards has made available 3 photos of Lindsay on this motorcycle … and none of the photos show her face. Now, I have no reason to discount Edwards’s assertion that these photos feature Lindsay Lohan but something about them seem … suspect. After the jump, check out one more photo supposedly of a nude Lindsay Lohan reclining on this motorcycle with her face turned away and see what you think …
Because we don’t know when, exactly, these photos were taken (only that they were taken “earlier in her career”) it’s impossible to guess which ear of Lindsay this is (i.e. Mean Girls era, Herbie: Fully Loaded era, etc.). This photo looks like it could be Lindsay but, again, without seeing her face … I’m not 100% convinced. What do you think? Does this look like Lindsay Lohan to you?
Kevin Federline was on daddy duty yesterday as he took his two sons to the supermarket in Chatsworth, California. Currently sharing custody, it was Kevin’s turn to have Britney Spears’ boys Sean Preston, four and Jayden James, three. Looking very cute in Pokemon and Spiderman t-shirts, the children strolled hand-in-hand with their father. Britney’s ex-husband, 32, tried to conceal his tubbier figure in an oversized navy t-shirt and white shorts, keeping a low profile with a baseball cap pulled down over his face. The boys seemed to enjoy joining in on the errand as they hitched a ride in Kevin’s shopping trolley and were spotted happily pointing out things they wanted in store. At one point a delighted Jayden James was spotted clutching a new mini basketball toy he’d persuaded his dad to put in the trolley. Hopefully Kevin was choosing healthy foods as he’s definitely fuller-figured again following his dramatic weight loss on TV reality show, Celebrity Fit Club. The former dancer previously blamed his weight gain on depression following his split from Britney.
While I would MUCH rather see photos of mama Britney Spears and her beau Jason Trawick with the kiddies at the pumpkin patch, I don’t mind seeing any photos of her beautiful children … even if they include Mr. Federline. It looks like another member of the Federline family tagged along on this trip … thankfully he had the decency to cover up his mullet with that trucker cap, whew! Also, I don’t want to get K-Fed in trouble or anything but … I think he was trying to smuggle a pretty sizable pumpkin underneath his t-shirt at the pumpkin patch … do you think the authorities should be alerted?
Not content to let Mariah Carey have all of the holiday music fun this year, the producers of Glee have announced the upcoming release of a holiday album titled Glee: The Music – The Christmas Album. As you can imagine, this new collection of holiday music comes complete with many of your traditional faves plus a few unconventional songs all in that Glee style that every is crazy about. Here is our first look at the album artwork for Glee‘s first Xmas album along with text from the press release announcement for the album, which includes info about tonight’s Rocky Horror Picture Show episode:
Glee decks the halls and gets you in the holiday spirit early with the release of Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album, available Tuesday November 16, 2010. The Glee cast sprinkle a little Christmas cheer with their dazzling renditions of such holiday classics as "We Need A Little Christmas," "O Holy Night," "Jingle Bells" and a very special Dr. Seuss inspired "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" featuring Grammy Award winner k.d. lang (see full track listing below). This special Glee Christmas episode airs Tuesday, December 7, at 8:00 pm et/pt on FOX. The music from Glee continues to set sales records; recently Glee surpassed The Beatles 52 year record for the most Billboard Hot 100 chart appearances of a non-solo act in one year. Glee: The Music, The Rocky Horror Show was released last week and immediately soared to #1 on iTunes Top Albums chart. Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers recently received an American Music Award nomination for Best Soundtrack Album, the 38th annual ceremony will take place on November 21 at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. On tonight's Rocky Horror Glee Show episode (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Will (Matthew Morrison) decides to have the glee club perform “The Rocky Horror Show” for the annual school musical after learning of Emma’s (Jayma Mays) newfound love for the cult classic. Despite Sue’s (Jane Lynch) usual scheming, the members of New Directions inject their distinctive style to such timeless tracks as “The Time Warp” and “Damn It, Janet.”
I mean … you knew that Glee would tackle Xmas music sooner or later, it was bound to happen. The show is still incredibly popular and it’s important for them to tackle all the music they can while the demand is still rabidly high. I’m not a huge fan of Xmas music (except for the soundtrack of A Charlie Brown Christmas Special) so I’m not sure if I’ll need to own this album myself but I know that many folks love Xmas music and, well, this might be right up their alley. After the jump, check out a new promo image and the full tracklist of this Glee Xmas album due out on November 16 …
