Project Runway’s Gretchen Jones: “I know in my heart I’m a good person” Posted: 31 Oct 2010 08:49 AM PDT *This post contains spoilers for last week's finale of Project Runway* I am still really angry over the Project Runway finale, and I'm still of the opinion that Gretchen is a horrible person, in addition to being a horrible designer. I'm still of the opinion that Project Runway has jumped the shark too, with Gretchen's anointment as the winner being the final nail in whatever credibility Project Runway might have had (go here for my rant). Now, it is perfectly normal for the PR winner to give a high-profile exit-interview, as it were, once the winner has been announced. Gretchen gave her interview to People Magazine, and it pissed me off so much, I can barely see straight. Instead of basically taking the tact of "I stand by my collection, haters gonna hate" Gretchen seemed to go off in her usual passive-aggressive, narcissistic, C-U-Next Tuesday way. Because all that she's learned from this experience is that if she acts like a nasty bitch, she'll win a huge fashion competition:
[From People] Let's go point by point: “I knew there was a risk . . . you can be portrayed however the producers care to do it. It’s TV – we all need an antagonist, an underdog, in order to fulfill our desire to watch.” No, honey. It wasn't the editing, and you're not a fashion martyr. You're a bad designer, you have no taste, and you're a two-faced, unprofessional bitch. Next: “It hurt my feelings… I know in my heart I’m a good person.” No, you're not. Tim Gunn is an excellent judge of character, and when he calls you out on your bullsh-t, you've got issues. Next, on Mondo's collection: "It really showed his potential as a designer, and I’m proud of him for staying true to himself, because that is more important than anything else. He’s going to go far.” Why do her compliments always sound like they're coming from the nastiest place? I read this as very sanctimonious and patronizing. Like she thinks that because she won, she can anoint him as being almost as good as her sh-t? Ugh. Last: "Having a true ‘phoenix rising from the ashes’ moment is not something many people get…" Because in her mind, she's Jesus. Ugh. God, I hate her. |
Brandi Glanville apologizes, loses credibility to Stepmother Superior LeAnn Rimes Posted: 31 Oct 2010 08:24 AM PDT As you can imagine, Brandi Glanville's arrest for suspicion of DUI early Friday morning was possibly one of the best things that's even happened to LeAnn Rimes. Brandi has been LeAnn's nemesis for more than a year - personally, I think LeAnn decided to designate Brandi as her nemesis when LeAnn first realized that the married Eddie Cibrian was totally up for an affair, and LeAnn set out to systematically win Eddie over to The Dark Side (Team LeAnn). Sidenote: I have the strongest urge to refer to LeAnn's "lair". Anyway, Brandi was arrested, and released hours later, after which she tweeted her apology:
[From People] Do you accept Brandi's apology? I don't, although I do think she's probably honestly sorry, and honestly ashamed with being a drunk driver. It takes more than an apology on Twitter to make me forgive drunk driving. Brandi has lost a lot of credibility as "The Victim" and now LeAnn's apologists can smear Brandi with nearly anything, and it will stick. Just for fun, I checked out LeAnn's Twitter to see her reaction to Brandi's arrest. It's always difficult for me to sort through LeAnn's Twitter feed, just because she tweets non-stop for like 15 hours a day. There's tons of nonsense that makes little to no sense to me, but I was able to find a couple of choice tweets. Responding (I think) to one of her follower's questions about Brandi, LeAnn tweeted: "the boys were safe and with Eddie’s parents at our house." And then later, "I didn’t take it that way at all. They were safe and with their grandparents. Let people judge all they want. They don’t know our lives. I understood what you were asking :)" Oooh! LeAnn is Step-Mother Superior now! Let's see… she also tweeted "honestly, I’ve had no anger, just disappointment in people’s lack of better judgement [sic]." Yes, because LeAnn's judgment is so wonderful. I tried to find Brandi's Twitter feed, but I never know which one it is. Does she have multiples? Do her supporters name their feeds after her? Because if this one is Brandi's, she really needs to get a grip too. They're both pieces of work. Ugh. |
Heidi Montag’s Halloween face: new tweaking or old settling? Posted: 31 Oct 2010 07:56 AM PDT These Heidi Montag photos are bothering me. First of all, her face once again looks different to me, although… it's different in an old way. Has her plastic surgery "settled"? Is this as natural as she's going to look these days? Remember how horrible and plastic-Barbie-doll she looked before? Heidi's face makes me think that no matter how much work you get, eventually you'll go back to your original face in some way. And then there's the Curious Case of Tara Reid. Tara has been back on the sauce (amongst other things) for months now, and it seems that she's also gotten some major work done recently. These are photos of Tara at a Halloween party on Friday night, and yes, that wig is doing her no favors (she went as Barbie). But still - if these photos weren't labeled "Tara Reid" I would have run out of guesses. Basically, Halloween is extra scary this year. |
Demi Moore shows off her dutiful husband, tweaked face & Vicky Beckham dress Posted: 31 Oct 2010 07:38 AM PDT I was greeted this fine Halloween morning by the sight of so many photos of plastic surgery faces. True, not all plastic faces are created equal, and not every person with a completely new face admits that they got the work done. Take Demi Moore - these are photos of Demi and Ashton Kutcher at an Austrian charity event. I've already said that I think Demi had gotten some new "tweaking" done over the past month, probably when she and Ashton were "working on their marriage" in Israel. To me, Demi's face is really starting to show signs of all of the work she's had done, and you can see it especially when photographers catch her face at an odd angle, anything other than straight-on. Beyond Demi's face, I suppose the photo op worked it's magic, considering we're talking about plastic surgery rather than a marriage in turmoil. Ashton was dutiful, and he stayed by Demi's side for many, many photos. This is the third big photo op he's done with Demi since the cheating scandal, and he even looked less desperate to prove they are anything other than a magnificently happy couple. Demi's dress is Victoria Beckham, by the way. And I don't hate the dress - it's actually rather pretty, although I'm not sure if it's the best color for Demi. And yes, her hair looked great. Don't you want her life?!? Shiny hair, Vicky Beckham dresses, and a young husband who will dote on you after he gets caught boning club chicks. It's like something out a storybook. |
