Tyler Perry Launching New TV Show + Soulja Boy To Play Tupac In "Juice" Remake?!

Media mogul Tyler Perry has announced plans for a new television show, while Soulja Boy plans to remake Juice and cast himself in Tupac's legendary role.  Get the deets inside....

 

Fans of Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? will be excited to learn that his new big television show, "For Better or Worse" will be based on characters from that movie. 

According to reports, the show will revolve around: 

"....a group of college best friends as they deal with life’s issues: Carl and Leslie, a beautiful, happily married couple who want their friends to be as happy as they are; Brian, a TV sportscaster who has a volatile yet comedic relationship with his wife, Michelle, a hair salon owner; and Janice, a therapist married to a sharp, ambitious lawyer, Jordan, who’s trying to keep his secrets secret."

Sources also confirm that Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart, has signed on for the series, but it is not known what role she will play.   

 

 

And coming to a movie theatre/NetFlix/straight-to-dvd box near you.......

 

Fresh on the heels of the release of his "Juice" mixtape, Soulja Boy has announced that he will play Tupac's iconic role "Bishop" in a remake of the movie Juice.

“Basically, it’s your boy Soulja and I’m Bishop in 2011, running around in the streets, man. You know how the movie goes, but we’re flipping it and shooting in Atlanta. I want to show these people my acting side and me being creative—always giving them something new; that’s all. I got same video director that shot ‘Crank That,’ ‘Kiss Me Through The Phone,’ ‘Turn My Swag On’ —my most successful videos. The whole mixtape is the soundtrack for the movie.”

Sigh........will you rent this? I can't imagine a nationwide theatre release, but whatevs.  And when will the remakes stop?!  Can we PLEASE leave Juice where we left it?

Academy Awards winners Jennifer Hudson and Halle Berry were spotted out and about yesterday with friends and doing a little shopping.  Check out pics of Jennifer in London and Halle shopping in LA when you read on...

 

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has been in London for the past few days promoting her latest album I Remember Me. 

She had just grabbed lunch at Nobu with some friends .

 

Chick loves her leggings!  And I do too so I feel ya Jenny.  She looks so happy these days.

 

 

And over in LA.....

Oscar winner Halle Berry got some retail therapy at Barneys following her not so fab week in court.  And she was looking not so happy with the paps either.

She paid for her meter and avoided valet parking.

She looked fab in her casual pantssuit...and even posed with a little fan.  Cute!

"106 & Park" host Terrence J celebrated his 28th birthday last night at Covet in NYC and we have pics of the chic party inside...

Terrence J's party was sponsored by Crown Royal Black and held at Covet in Mid-town.

The birthday boy looked very dapper.


 

Mashonda was a guest at the party.

Lauren London tapped into her chic 70's side for a sexy photoshoot for Rolling Out Magazine.  Since she has always admired the style of Marvin Gaye's wife, Janis Gaye, the star of Madea's Big Happy Family rocked a Janis-inspired look for the shoot.

On her controversial pregnancy and being a good mother:

“I had a pregnancy that wasn’t private … A lot of people had their opinions about it. They were surprised that I came up pregnant, which was a surprise to me, because I’m a woman and women get pregnant and Lauren comes first before the actress, so having my son was the best thing that ever happened to me,” she said.

On how she stays so gorgeous:

“I don’t even think I’m all that cute,” she said when asked about her beauty secrets. “But I maintain a clean face and make sure I have a mani and pedi once a week. I think it’s important for women to take care of their nails, hair, skin and feet. That’s it. I keep it natural and simple … but when I get some sun, I’m all ready. That [tan] would be a beauty secret if I had one.”

“I’m a great mother because of my intentions on being a great mother, I’m a good friend because I’m loyal, I’m a good daughter because I’ve hopefully made my mother proud, I’m a great human being because I accept that there’s a spiritual being underneath it all,” she said. “I’ve always been a woman of faith.”

On evolving for her comeback:

“I think evolution is a natural thing. I was 21 when I came into the industry and now, I’m 26. So, my style is gonna change. My hair hasn’t changed, but my outlook on clothes, movies [and] interviews that I do are gonna be different from when I first came out. I didn’t put too much thought into [makes air quotes with her fingers] coming back. I just love what I do,” she said.

Admit it...whenever you fill out those online surveys about the "person you'd most like to meet" you always put Oprah Winfrey.  Well now it's time to put your money where your mouth is.  Lady O giving you the chance to make that dream come true....it's just gonna cost you at least $50,000.  Deets inside....

 

The talk show icon, and recent pick for TIME Magazine's "TIME 100" list of the most influential people in the world, has teamed with luxury charity auction site charitybuzz to raise funds for human rights. The big "O" is auctioning four VIP tickets to "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in Chicago and the chance to meet her backstage with a photo opportunity during the show's last season to benefit the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice.

But it's gonna cost you.  The auction is open through Thursday, April 28th here and is currently up to $26,000 with just a week left to go. The estimated value on the experience is $50,000 but with this being Oprah's LAST season, it'll go for far more.  Some of the causes The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights supports are reconciliation in Darfur, advocating for children in Haiti and bringing an end to brutal oppression in Zimbabwe.

Fabulous news for one of our fave YBF chicks!  Keke Palmer, star of "True Jackson, VP," has announced that she will be starring and producing in a new musical film produced by TeenNick Chairman, Nick Cannon which is scheduled to start filming next month in Vancouver. In addition to starring in Ragz, Keke will also have Nick as a producer, Rodney Jerkins as music supervisor, and director Bille Woodruff.

Keke said....

I am so excited to announce my next Big project it’s a movie called Ragz, the script is fun and full of great music. I loved the project so much that I wanted to be a producer on it as well, I even got to make suggestions on the script which influenced the music.

I love this.  Good luck with the project Ke!

Oh Mama Jones.  Oh how we love thee.  Especially when you cut the hell up and it's all caught on video.  Rapper Jim Jones' mama, Nancy Jones, who has quickly become the TRUE star of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop," was caught on video popping off on a gas station attendant.  And she also said she was ready to smack the sh*t out of cast member Olivia.  Uh oh!

Beyonce & Her Stilettos Get Playful At Disneyland

Beyonce and her stilettos trekked it to Euro Disney today in Paris. And she probably brought her nephew along as her ex-brother-in-law and Julez's father, Daniel Sr., was spotted with her.

 

P.S.  The video for her new song "Run The World (Girls)" will reportedly hit the net tomorrow.  Pics of the Goofy-loving Beyonce when you read on....

CONCERT FAB: Jill Scott Has No "SHAME" In NYC, Promotes Light Of The Sun LP

Last night, Jill Scott shined for a few lucky industry insiders and music lovers as she rocked new material from her upcoming album The Light Of The Sun.  TheYBF.com was on the scene for the secret concert and we have pics and video for you inside.....

Yesterday, Jill Scott's sang songs from her new album, The Light Of The Sun, at Dominion NYC.

Ms. Scott worked the audience wearing shiny black leggings, a lace top, metallic gold feathered earrings and a hot new edgy Mohawk.  

Her late night set was powerpacked with six tracks.  First, she started the evening singing "Quick," which is a song that she revealed is about her ex-husband.  During the song, she says "I really did love you and I can't believe it is over so "Quick." 

Her second song was called "Boom" and is the story of a girl who falls for a man who is just not that into her.  She waits for him, but he never comes around and she is forced to move on.  

She continued with her lead single "Shame," and got a little sexual on her song "Rolling Hills," which is about the power of the P. Jilly told the females in the audience that their rolling hills are gifts to the world and not everyone is deserving of them.  Yaasss.....Jill was getting deep.

Then for her "So in Love" track, her special guest Anthony Hamilton joined her on stage and the crowd went wild.  The song is about love and how blessed Jill feels as this point in her life. 

The concert was amazing and Jill always stays uber connected to the audience.  Loves her.
