Leif Garrett Pleads No Contest Posted: 16 Oct 2010 01:00 PM PDT At least he won't go to jail. He should be happy about that. 70s idol, Leif Garrett pled no contest this morning to heroin possession charges. Now, he will be transferred to a court-ordered rehab program. Here's hoping he gets the help he needs. [Image via WENN.] |
The Dilemma Continues On The Dilemma's 'Gay' Joke Posted: 16 Oct 2010 12:40 PM PDT Vince Vaughn finally responded to the controversey surrounding the "gay" joke in his upcoming movie, The Dilemma, but according to GLAAD, his justfication for using the word isn't going to fly! GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios counters:
Unfortunately, we have to agree. We have to lead by example, and help our youth understand that there is nothing wrong with being gay, and that jokes like that have no place being perpetuated anymore - especially not as a means to market a film! Thoughts?? |
Tyra Sued By Mother Of Teen "Sex Addict!" Posted: 16 Oct 2010 12:20 PM PDT You know the drill - talk shows are about two things: medical issues, sex, and sexual medical issues. On Tyra Banks' show, an epsiode tackeled the shocking topic of teens being "sex addicts" and featured a young, 15-year-old who self-proclaimed herself to be one. Her momma ain't too happy about that. Beverly McClendon, the mother of this child, filed a complaint in an Atlanta federal court last week, suing Warner Bros. Entertainment, Tyra Banks and executive producers of her talk show for $3 million for featuring her child on television without consent. She alleges that having her child on the show was a dangerous and not gaining her permission to do so was "negligent." In her suit, Beverly charges that the show put out an open casting call for "sex addicts" on their website and chose her daughter due to her age. She was invited to be a guest in November, was flown out to New York and accommodated in hotel and then, paid for her appearance on the show. All of this, without ever consulting the mother. The complaint states that Beverly was appalled to see her child on a show that is "undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles alike." Likewise, she charges that none of what they did was legal, from inviting her on the show to having her appear on TV because they never had her written consent form her or the Commissioner of Labor in Georgia. Beverly is now asking for an injunction against "further distribution of her child's TV appearance", along with the $3 million dollars. It's hard to believe that these producers would be so naive to go through with hiring a child without going through the appropriate channels. Seems so unlikely! She has a great case though, if it's true. [Image via WENN.] |
Oprah Settles Lawsuit To Hush Up Former Employee Posted: 16 Oct 2010 12:00 PM PDT After The Enquirer posted some unsavory details of a federal lawsuit that Oprah was involved in, she rapidly settled the case out of court. Here are some of the allegations in the lawsuit:
The suit was filed by a flight attendant on Oprah's private jet, Corrine Gheris, who claimed that Oprah wrongfully fired her for "inappropriate intimate behavior" with the chief pilot of the jet. Gheris sought $75,000+ in damages from Oprah's production company, and it looks like she has been appeased. Here's what legal documents that were filed with the U.S. District Court in Chicago on Oct 5th said:
Here's what a source had to say about the settlement:
Good thing she settled that lawsuit. Sounds like this could have gotten really nasty really quickly! What do U think about the allegations against Oprah? [Image via WENN.] |
Vanessa Hudgens To Star In Journey To The Center Of The Earth Sequel (Most Likely) Posted: 16 Oct 2010 11:40 AM PDT We're not 100% sure how necessary this sequel is, but we're glad to hear you're up for a lead role, Vanessa! Vanessa Hudgens is in final negotiations for the female lead role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film's story is loosely based on Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island. The film also stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and will be produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of Contrafilm. Assuming the negotiations go according to plan, Hudgens will play a Pacific Islander who joins Josh Hutcherson's character on adventures…and develops a romance with him. Production is slated to begin late October in North Carolina and Hawaii. We suppose it'll be inneresting to see Vanessa Hudgens and The Rock share the big screen together. Will U see Journey 2? Do U think the original warranted a sequel? [Image via WENN.] |
John Gosselin Violated Court Order By Tweeting Posted: 16 Oct 2010 11:20 AM PDT We can't believe he's in trouble again! Although Jon Gosselin gave the deets on his legal battle with Kate to keep the kids off TV, he violated a court order when he posted his feelings on Twitter. Kate's lawyer, Mark Momjian, said:
Lots of luck with this one, Jon. P.S. CLICK HERE to "follow" Perez on Twitter! And CLICK HERE to "like" Perez on Facebook! |

Ashton Kutcher Turning Twitter Into TV! Again! Posted: 16 Oct 2010 10:40 AM PDT CBS just found another Twitter account to turn into a sitcom. David Arquette Fired Didn't Hire Rebound Posted: 16 Oct 2010 10:20 AM PDT David Arquette reportedly fired his rebound fling Jasmine Waltz from his yet-to-be-opened L.A. theater. Except he didn't since his partner has made it clear that no staff has even been hired! There were rumors that David had hired Jasmine to bring her cocktail expertise to his new theater gig at the Roosevelt Hotel. It was then rumored that he had fired her when their relationship had become public knowledge, just so it wasn't adding to the separation drama he is currently enduring with his wife, Courteney Cox. But Jeff Beacher, his partner, says all of this is untrue as they "haven't yet hired any staff, or any performers. We're still building the stage." However, Jeff would happily offer Jasmine a position "if she can build a rig that flies little people from one end of the theater to the other." Oh, ha ha. Clever! [Image via WENN.] |
America Ferrera And Julia Stiles Are Hitting The London Stage! Posted: 16 Oct 2010 10:00 AM PDT Amazing! We love them both, so we'd definitely want to see this! America Ferrera and Julia Stiles are set to star in Neil LaBute's Tony award-nominated play reasons to be pretty on the London stage! According to producer Howard Panter, the show is "about people being drawn to the superficial, and how we all get seduced by the surface - and how that can be a thorny path." LaBute's material is generally pretty dark and effed up, so we're curious to see how Stiles and Ferrera would tackle their roles! It would certainly be a change of pace for both of them. Well, not Stiles - she's on Dexter right now - but you get what we mean! What do U think?? Are these good casting choices?? [Image via WENN.] |
