Watch: ‘Little Project Runway’

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 01:53 PM PDT

The industrious folks who brought us those entertaining videos of little kids doing reenactments of Jersey Shore, The Hills and The Real Housewives of New Jersey now bring us those same cute kids putting their spin on Project Runway:

Project Runway is one of my favorite competitive reality TV shows … so just how does it hold up to the Little Kid treatment? Find out, after the jump …

There’s no question the kids in this video are adorable but … this particular video just doesn’t really do it for me. Yes, it’s cute … but … meh. What do y’all think?

Sean Penn Makes Wearing Drag Look Like A Drag

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 01:39 PM PDT

Sean Penn was spotted yesterday on the NYC set of his new film This Must Be the Place lookin’ like the saddest drag queen you ever did see:

Unfortch for Sean, he’s not playing a drag queen in this film. In Place, he will portray a retired and bored ex-rock star who finds out the ex-Nazi who executed his father in WWII is a refugee in the US. HMM … no wonder he looks so sad. This film sounds like some heady stuff … but I can’t get past the wig and make-up. I’m certain this film will appeal to some but, yeah, it ain’t grabbin’ me just yet.

Conan O’Brien‘s new late night talk show Conan will debut on TBS in just 3 weeks and today we learn who will be first guests to appear on the show. Conan announced in a press release today which celebs will grace his couch the first week that Conan is on the air:

Conan O’Brien starts a talk show, he gets Tom Hanks to come by; that’s just the tradition. TBS’s Conan announced it’s first week of guests today, and along with longtime O’Brien stalwart Hanks, he’ll have Seth Rogen, Jack McBrayer (take that, NBC!), Jon Hamm and Julie Bowen.

Read the full text of Conan‘s guest list announcement, after the jump …

Conan O’Brien will begin his run on TBS with some of the biggest names in entertainment and music beginning Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 p.m. (ET/PT). The premiere night of Conan from Stage 15 at Warner Bros. Studios will feature Seth Rogen and a musical performance from Jack White. The rest of Conan’s premiere week will feature a lineup of special guests, rare performances and longtime friends of O’Brien:

HMMM … this is a great list of guests, yes, but I’m bummed that Conan will only air 4 days out of the week. I don’t watch much late night TV on TBS so I’m not sure if this is the norm but I guess they save Friday night’s for movies? Dunno … but now we know what to expect from Conan‘s first week back on the air as a late-night talk show host. Are you excited?

Partying With Puck

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 12:39 PM PDT

Last night was a pretty quite night around the ol’ homestead … because it was cold and rainy, I decided to flip the switch on our fireplace and cozy up on the couch for the night. Plans for tonight are a bit more exciting. I’ve been invited to attend the CD release party for Glee star Mark Salling‘s debut album Pipe Dreams (due for release next Monday October 25):

I’m pretty sure Mark‘s Glee castmates will be in the hiz for his big night tonight so it should be a blast. I wonder what they’ll wear … or not wear ;) I’ll be sure to tweet as much as I can from the shindig and will have some fun photos to share tomorrow.

Happy Thursday!!

Watch: The NSFW Red Band Trailer For ‘I Love You Phillip Morris’

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 11:19 AM PDT

Here is our first look at the official poster artwork for the new film I Love You Phillip Morris which has been having a bit of trouble getting released here in the US. Based on a true story, I Love You Phillip Morris tells the tale of an ostentatious gay man named Steven Russell (played by Jim Carrey) who feels he must commit fraud in order to pay for his extravagant lifestyle … and ends up going to prison to meet the love of his life — Phillip Morris (played by Ewan McGregor):

Steven Russell (Jim Carrey) leads a seemingly average life – an organ player in the local church, happily married to Debbie (Leslie Mann), and a member of the local police force. That is until he has a severe car accident that leads him to the ultimate epiphany: he's gay and he's going to live life to the fullest – even if he has to break the law to do it. Taking on an extravagant lifestyle, Steven turns to cons and fraud to make ends meet and is eventually sent to the State Penitentiary where he meets the love of his life, a sensitive, soft-spoken man named Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). His devotion to freeing Phillip from jail and building the perfect life together prompts him to attempt (and often succeed at) one impossible con after another. Told with an uncanny sense of humor and a lot of heart, "I Love You Phillip Morris" is an oddball tale of what can happen when the legal system, a daredevil spirit and undying love collide.

I understand the film has been having trouble getting released here in the US due to the graphic way the homosexual relationship between the male lead characters is portrayed in the film (or some such nonsense). After the jump, you can check out the NSFW red band trailer and see what all the hub-bub is about. Be warned, the trailer features imagery and language that are not suitable for viewing at work …

I believe this film has already been released outside of the US without incident but, well, America is not yet totally comfortable with these sorts of things. BUT, at last, the film is being released here in the US … I Love You Phillip Morris will open in theaters on December 3. I guess we’ll have to see how well it does at the box office. Does this look like a film that you would like to see?

Courteney Cox & David Arquette Reunite For Daughter Coco Riley

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 11:04 AM PDT

It’s been a little over a week since we learned that Courteney Cox and David Arquette had split up and since that time David has been shoving his foot in his mouth and then apologizing for blabbing about the couple’s break-up. Over the weekend, tho, the estranged couple reunited here in SoCal in a show of unity for their daughter Coco Riley. Courteney and David played happy parents at Coco‘s horse show on Sunday:

Things looked anything but tense between Courteney Cox and David Arquette on Oct. 17, when they reunited at Malibu Equestrian Park for 6-year-old daughter Coco’s horse show. Just 6 days after announcing their shocking trial separation, the estranged spouses were affectionate, exchanging hugs and tender glances as they cheered on Coco’s event. “David would wrap his arm around her, and Courteney rubbed his back,” an onlooker says in the new Us Weekly, out Wednesday. Afterwards, the family celebrated at their $9.2 million Malibu home, where Cox, 46, lives with Coco (Arquette, 39, has been staying at their Beverly Hills property since the split). Does this bode well for the future of their 11 year union? “The thing they care most about is Coco,” an insider tells Us. “That’s what they’re saddest about. They don’t want to do anything to hurt her.”

I’m not confident at all that the couple plan to get back together in any romantic way. In fact, I can see how Courteney‘s relationship with David might evolve into something like the relationship her Cougar Town character enjoys with her ex-husband on the show. On Cougar Town, Courteney‘s character and her ex-husband are very good friends, united by their love for their son. It seems to me that that fictional relationship on the show is prolly very telling of the couple’s real life relationship. Both Courteney and David are co-executive producers on Cougar Town so, yeah, it makes sense. However the couple’s relationship evolves, I’m certain their daughter Coco will be their paramount concern.

Olivier Martinez Takes Halle Berry For A Ride On His Hog

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 10:27 AM PDT

Okay … things have just gotten seriously serious in the close personal relationship between Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez. All that kissing and hand-holding aside, the couple have been really ratcheting things up a notch here in SoCal together. A couple of weeks ago we learned that Halle took Olivier home to meet her mother … which is a pretty big step in and of itself. But today we get to see new photos of Olivier taking Halle for a ride on his motorcycle … which is PROOF that he is in lurve:

It’s pretty common knowledge that Olivier Martinez LOVES his motorcycle pretty much more than anything on Earth … the fact that he is letting Halle ride around with him on his baby says a lot about his feelings for her. Dang … maybe it is true lurve after all?

Jennifer Lopez’s Twin Children Make Their Modeling Debut

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 09:40 AM PDT

Jennifer Lopez‘s twin children Emme Marbiel and Maximilian David may only be 2 1/2 years old but that doesn’t mean they’re too young to model clothing … for Gucci. J. Lo‘s spawn are featured in a new ad campaign for Gucci in exchange for a massive donation to UNICEF and Lopez‘s own Maribel Foundation. Here is one of the 2 promo photos that feature Max & Emme in their modeling debut:

Jennifer Lopez’s two-year-old twins, MAX and EMME, have made their modelling debut in a campaign for fashion house Gucci. Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony welcomed the tots in 2008 and now the youngsters have appeared with their mother in a new photoshoot for the brand’s children’s line. The singer/actress is pictured walking on the beach with the twins in her arms in the shots and Lopez admits she is delighted with the results. She tells US Weekly, “It’s the first time I have worked with my kids in that way. It was a totally special experience… I did a photo shoot when they were three weeks old, but now that they are two and a half, it’s totally different!” And the star reveals she agreed to the campaign after hearing about Gucci’s work with good causes, which saw the company donate $1 million to UNICEF’s Schools for Africa initiative and $50,000 to Lopez’s own charity the Maribel Foundation. She adds, “I was particularly inspired when I first met (Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini) in 2008 at the fundraising event she hosted in New York to benefit UNICEF. When Frida told me about her trip to Malawi and her excitement about launching her new children’s collection, I was inspired by her idea to build upon Gucci’s long term support for UNICEF with a donation in honour of the launch of the collection. As a mother, I am proud to be a part of this campaign to benefit UNICEF’s Schools for Africa program.”

HMMM … I guess if Willow Smith can become a pop star at 9 then Max & Emme can become models at 2 1/2. Kids sure do grow up fast in Hollywood, don’t they? After the jump, check out the other Gucci for UNICEF photo that features J. Lo and her twins …

With their first print ad modeling gig behind them, how long until the Lopez-Anthony twins make their runway debut? They’re walking already, right?

Dianna Agron Blogs About Those Racy ‘Glee’ Photos In ‘GQ’ Magazine

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 09:02 AM PDT

On Tuesday we got our first look at the new issue of GQ magazine which features Glee castmates Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele on the cover and in the pages of the mag … all featured in a pretty racy photospread shot by photographer Terry Richardson (well not all of them were scantily clad, only the girls were stripped down … Cory was fully dressed, in layers). Since those photos came out, the Glee actors and GQ have come under fire for the heightened sexual tone of the photos. Dianna decided to speak out personally and blog about the photos so that she could have her say on the matter. Here is the full text of Dianna‘s blogpost regarding the controversial GQ photos:

I'd like to start by saying that these are solely my thoughts on the November issue of GQ and the controversy that has surrounded its release. I am not a representative of the three of us, the show, or Fox, only myself. In the land of Madonna, Britney, Miley, Gossip Girl, other public figures and shows that have pushed the envelope and challenged the levels of comfort in their viewers and fans…we are not the first. Now, in perpetuating the type of images that evoke these kind of emotions, I am sorry. If you are hurt or these photos make you uncomfortable, it was never our intention. And if your eight-year-old has a copy of our GQ cover in hand, again I am sorry. But I would have to ask, how on earth did it get there?

The full text of Dianna‘s blogpost continues behind the cut. It’s worth reading, particularly because she confesses that stripping down for the magazine was not her “favorite idea”. Read on …

I was a very sheltered child, and was not aware of anything provocative or risque in the media while I was navigating through my formative years. When I was finally allowed to watch a movie like Grease, I did not even understand what on earth Rizzo was talking about!? I understand that in today's world of advanced technology, the internet, our kids can be subject to very adult material at the click of a button. But there are parental locks, and ways to get around this. I am twenty-four years old. I have been a pretty tame and easy-going girl my whole life. Nobody is perfect, and these photos do not represent who I am. I am also not the girl who rolls out of bed with flawless makeup and couture clothing. I am most comfortable with my hair thrown on top of my head, in sweats, laughing with my friends. Glee is a show that represents the underdogs, which is a feeling I have embraced much of my own life, and to those viewers, the photos in GQ don't give them that same feeling. I understand completely.

For GQ, they asked us to play very heightened versions of our school characters. A 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' version. At the time, it wasn't my favorite idea, but I did not walk away. I must say, I am trying to live my life with a sharpie marker approach. You can't erase the strokes you've made, but each step is much bolder and more deliberate. I'm moving forward from this one, and after today, putting it to rest. I am only myself, I can only be me. These aren't photos I am going to frame and put on my desk, but hey, nor are any of the photos I take for magazines. Those are all characters we've played for this crazy job, one that I love and am so fortunate to have, each and every day. If you asked me for my dream photo shoot, I'd be in a treehouse, in a wild costume, war-paint and I'd be playing with my pet dragon. Until then…..

For the record, I don’t personally have any problem with the raciness of these photos. The thing that irks me is that the women in these photos were made to strip down to their bras and panties so that they could hang on the sole guy in the photos — who is not only fully dressed, but dressed in LAYERS of clothing. While I understand that GQ is a men’s magazine, it just seems skeevy (and sadly typical) that the women have to be stripped down and sexualized while the guy stands fully dressed in the middle with a big smile on his face. But, again, these are my personal opinions.

I find it interesting that Dianna says that these photos do not “represent” who she is and she understands that the tone of these photos do not represent the tone of Glee. She also confesses that she was not initially happy with the decision to pose in this way … all of this sounds like she was talked into posing in this “heightened version” of high school characters. She references the Britney Spears music video Baby One More Time and while I can see her point, Britney was never stripped down to her bra and panties in that music video. I’m really glad that Dianna felt strongly enough to blog her personal opinions on the photos … to me, it sounds like she’s not too happy with the way they turned out. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it sounds like she was forced to pose in this manner but her comments about the photos are very telling. “At the time, it wasn't my favorite idea, but I did not walk away.” — sounds to me like, Either I had to pose in this way or I wouldn’t be featured in the magazine. HMMMM. Hearing these comments from Dianna only makes the photos seem worse in my eyes.

What do y’all think?

Christina Aguilera Talks To ‘Redbook’ Magazine About Her Divorce From Jordan Bratman

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 08:28 AM PDT

It’s been a little over a week now since we first heard that Christina Aguilera has split from her husband Jordan Bratman and it is exactly one week since she officially filed for divorce. Today, for the first time, we are hearing from Xtina herself about the split in a new interview that she gave to Redbook magazine:

The day after news of her separation from husband Jordan Bratman broke last week, Christina Aguilera, who will appear on the December cover of REDBOOK, spoke exclusively to the magazine about how she was coping with the split. "It's not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness," she said. "It's impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward." When asked about the details, rumors (of infidelity on both sides), and whether she and Jordan, whom she married in November 2005, had tried couples therapy to resolve their issues, Christina answered, "Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to make it through each day. Her focus during this rough, emotional time, she said, was her son, who turns three in January. "Thankfully, I have Max to keep me on a sane path. His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe."

Now, you may recall that Xtina issued a public statement about the split early last week but that came from her publicist, these are Xtina‘s words on the matter. The December issue of Redbook magazine will feature Xtina on the cover and will go in more depth about her take on why her marriage fell apart. I wonder how long, if ever, it’ll take for us to hear from Jordy. My guess is that Xtina will run the show even as the couple’s divorce becomes final. Her side of the story may be the only one we get to hear for a very long time.

Tina Knowles Denies That Beyoncé Is Pregnant

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 07:54 AM PDT

Yesterday we learned of the latest report, this time by US Weekly magazine, that music superstar Beyoncé and her music superstar hubby Jay-Z are pregnant with their first child. Today we learn from Beyoncé‘s mother, who paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday to clear up the rumors, that Beyoncé is NOT pregs:

Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles just blew the lid off the story that her daughter is pregnant — telling Ellen DeGeneres, the rumors are simply “not true.”

Tina makes a little joke that it’s not Beyoncé who’s pregs, is she who is pregs … yeah, it wasn’t a very funny joke. This episode of Ellen airs today but you can check out video of Tina‘s denial (and lame joke) after the jump …

And there you have it. This latest round of rumors and denials should keep Beyoncé out of the “Pregnancy Rumor Mill” for at least a few weeks.
