The first week numbers on Decoded aren’t even in yet, but those ‘vampires and blood suckers’ Illuminati Hov was talking about on “Monster” are already on to the next.
Seeing the amount of shine Jay-Z’s stan handbook has been getting, Penguin Group has announce plans to drop their own Camel-ography.
One week after Jay-Z's book Decoded hit stores, the Penguin Group has announced that they will be releasing their own biography on the rap legend in March.
Penned by Forbes staff writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg, the book—titled Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner to Corner Office—will feature interviews with Damon Dash, DJ Clark Kent, ?uestlove, Fab 5 Freddy and MC Serch, among others.
The 206-page tome follows the hip-hop mogul from his early days as a drug dealer in Brooklyn's Marcy Projects to topping Forbes' hip-hop earners list. In addition it will also include Jay's "Ten Commandment for Business."
Empire State of Mind is set to hit stores on March 17, 2011.
We wouldn’t expect anything too crazy or new about Mr. Knowles-Carter in this jawn though. It probably wouldn’t have gotten the green light if it was scandalous.
Rihanna is on the cover of Interview and was interviewed by her big cousin… Kanye “The Louis Vuitton Don” West. Mr. West is always the one rapping about how when his friends show pics of their kids, he shows pics of his cribs… so, it’s very interesting to hear that he felt the need to ask Rihannna about her future plans when it comes to starting a family…
In the December issue of Interview, the 22-year-old “What’s My Name” singer hints that motherhood may soon be on the horizon.
“I don’t really plan on the age. It could be a year from now. It could be 10 years from now. Whenever is right,” Rihanna tells the mag. “I mean, I have a lot of other stuff to accomplish before I get to kids. Whenever the time is right, I’ll just know.”
This much is certain: the pop star, who began dating L.A. Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp in January, wants an all-male household.
“If I had a girl, she’d probably be really rebellious,” the singer laughs. “She would be like a bundle of karma.”
As for where she would raise her brood, Rihanna says she “would love to bring them up in Barbados,” though her job may prevent that from becoming a reality.
“I can’t live that far away from everything now, without kids,” she explains. “So I certainly couldn’t raise kids and [have a career] with the demanding schedule that I have.”
Wouldn’t be surprised if Rih Rih popped one out before Beyonce… Would You???
We never in a million years thought we would make this comparison but the more we looked at the pic… it was inevitable!!! Kat Stacks, the gutter groupie that likes to guzzle down the royal oats of celebrities and Taylor Swift the country singing chick who’s dream moment was interrupted by Mr. West at the 2009 MTV VMA’s are… Reunited And It Feels So Gooooooood!!!
This picture of Taylor Swift was taken over the weekend at the 2010 AMAs. These Two Look Just-A-Like…SMH! Even if Taylor Swift sported that bang ONLY for ONE NIGHT… she needs to fire her hairstylist for having her look like a rejected episode of Sister to Sister!
With the cold weather creeping up on everyone for the holidays, this is a great time for you and your significant other to start making body heat. Everyone will make their way to some kind of family/friend function full of food and drinks. Now, when the desserts start flowing make sure you grab your boy toy a piece of pumpkin pie because word is… Pumpkin Pie gets the blood and your man will be at “ATTENTION“!!!
The secret to better sex could be in a classic Thanksgiving dessert
“Throw away the perfume and go get some pumpkin pie,” said Dr. Alan Hirsch, Director of Chicago’s Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Center.
In a study of men ages 18 to 64, 40 aromas were tested to determine which arouses men the most. The smell of pumpkin pie topped ladies’ fragrances.
“The number one odor that enhanced penile blood flow was a combination of lavender and pumpkin pie,” said Hirsch.
Hirsch said tha combination increased penile blood flow by an average of 40 percent in participants.
Pumpkin pie was the single strongest stimulant.
“Maybe the odors acted to reduce anxiety. By reducing anxiety, it acted to remove inhibitions,” said Hirsch.
However, eating part of the pumpkin usually discarded when making pie could offer even greater sexual health benefits for men.
“The most important element of the pumpkin are the seeds themselves,” said Palm Beach Gardens Alternative medicine expert Dr. Ralph Monserrat. He often recommends patients with erectile dysfunction eat pumpkin seeds.
“Pumpkin seeds are very rich in zinc. That, in itself, is very valuable in individuals who have prostate enlargement…because they are very rich in zinc, there will be an increase in testosterone and that increase will also increase the sexual desire,” said Monserrat.
Pumpkin pie isn’t the only Thanksgiving favorite that arouses a man. The same study showed that older men showed a strong response to vanilla.
If your partner enjoys sex on a regular basis, allow him to pull the strawberry-rhubarb pie out of the oven. Men with the most satisfying sex lives responded strongly to strawberry.
“Every odor we tested aroused the participants,” said Hirsch.
However, not all of them created strong responses. Therefore, you may want to keep your man away from the cranberry sauce. The aroma of cranberry offered the smallest increase in blood flow, only two percent.
There is some good news, Hirsch said: “Nothing turns a man off.”
This Thanksgiving, if you want a little something extra to be thankful for, you may be able to create a big change in the bedroom by making a little change in the kitchen.
If pumpkin pie wasn’t on the menu… you might to get ur assets in the kitchen and start cooking
DMX is back in jail for violating his probation… AGAIN! Just last week before his concert in Scottsdale, AZ, he interviewed with Fox 10 news station stating that if he did something foolish, it would be all over the news and he would be back in jail. Now… DMX is back in front of FOX 10 with matching chrome bracelets giving his TI sob story:
DMX’s current stint in an Arizona jail — his sixth in the state in the past decade — is due to a swig of booze, he said from jail over the weekend. The MC was just three weeks away from finishing an 18-month substance-abuse program, but at a concert last week, he took a sip of alcohol that sent him back to jail.
“And I realize I shouldn’t have done it,” he told Fox10 in Phoenix on Saturday. “I wasn’t done with the program. They let me out. I should have protected myself better.”
The MC was arrested on multiple charges last week, including probation violation, failure to submit to drug testing and several drug charges.
“I’ve done everything they have asked me to do — complete programs, pay fines, community service,” he said. “It’s rare that I get fair treatment … It’s love or hate.”
A hearing this week will determine whether the rapper goes back into rehab or back to prison.
How Many Times Does It Take For You To Really Get It Right???!!? Maybe it was our post about his 10 coked out moments that made him fall off the wagon…
Miss Keri Baby has already remixed her new single “Pretty Girl Rock” and this time she brings in a lil backup via Mr. West. The Georgia peach’s sophomore album No Boys Allowed is due to hit stores December 21st, and although the title would imply that men aren’t welcome we’re almost positive that won’t stop some of you “gentlemen” from coppin that new new…how YOU doin??
It is readily acknowledged that Black Americans have some catching up to do when it comes to income and wealth.
Often, Black Americans focus much of their explanations for these circumstances on racism and discrimination. We, straightaway, argue that the solution is for Black Americans to start our own businesses. Any kind of business will do, we say. The key is to motivate Blacks to become entrepreneurs. Having achieved that, income and wealth inequality should diminish.
This is a simple minded and delusional hope. We all know that, "Hope is no strategy." There has to be a better strategy that will produce meaningful and sustainable results.
Thoughtful economists take a more comprehensive view to Black American economic development. We say that Black businesses should be initiated more selectively; beginning with small service firms, expanding to larger service firms and small scale manufacturing, then up to large-scale manufacturing where big-ticket items can be produced and sold.
Not all basketball players are living the Shaquille O’Neal lifestyle of fancy cars, multiple palatial homes and enough money to pay sidepieces to keep quiet. Brandon Jennings, for example, drives a Ford Edge.
The NBA Players Association is taking steps toward helping ballers better manage their money, especially with a potential lockout looming ahead after this season.
Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks, who earned about $2.2 million last year in his first NBA season, is the proud owner of a Ford Edge, which cost $26,000.
New York Knicks guard Roger Mason Jr. said he recently traded in his Bentley convertible for a used Cadillac Escalade.
And when he needed to work out and get therapy during the offseason, James Jones of the Miami Heat said he used the team’s facilities instead of paying for a private trainer. “We’ve got a lockout coming,” Mr. Jones said. “I’m not going to pay that much money to have somebody stretch me for an hour.”
As the NBA and its players union continue to steam toward a possible work stoppage after this season, the union is trying to see to it that if the paychecks dry up, its members won’t be forced to do what many of them had to do last time this happened: liquidate their posh possessions to pay the bills.
Jennings and Jones aren’t alone in their conservative stance towards spending:
Brandan Wright of the Golden State Warriors, who was a first-round draft pick and will have earned $11 million before his 24th birthday, is typical of a new attitude. He said he owns one BMW and a home in Nashville, Tenn., for his immediate family.
Mr. Wright said he likes to get “nice sandwiches” rather than lavish meals when he’s eating out on the road in order to save cash. And if his spending ever gets out of hand, he said, he has trained his financial advisers to call him to tell him to rein it in.
“Cheap is the best way to be,” he said.
For good reason too. A number of players were caught unprepared the last time a lockout kept the ball out of play for months…
The last time the NBA had a work stoppage, about a dozen years ago, the league shut down for almost half a season. In that case, owners exercised an early opt-out clause in the contract, taking the players by surprise. Union executive director Billy Hunter had been at his post for less than two years and veteran players and agents said many of their clients and teammates didn’t seem to realize their multiple mortgages and car payments wouldn’t stop coming after their paychecks did.
Because many NBA players come from families where living month-to-month is the norm, they said, few made contingency plans. Then-union president Patrick Ewing famously explained at the time that while NBA players make a lot of money, “we spend a lot, too.”
The current collective-bargaining agreement expires after this season. But this time, there has been plenty of fair warning. The argument about player pay has been simmering for years. NBA Commissioner David Stern, who thinks players are paid too much, has said that teams lost more than $300 million last year. The union has disputed that claim.
In the meantime, Mr. Hunter has been sending flyers to players’ homes for two years to make sure they know to cut expenses. Derek Fisher of the Los Angeles Lakers, who is the president of the players’ union, has been recording lockout-themed podcasts that are emailed out to players, and the union is issuing an instruction manual that explains tips for saving money, like renting houses instead of buying them and trying to keep a strict limit on fancy cars.
New Jersey Nets guard Jordan Farmar said every penny he spends is part of a long-term budget he prepares for himself to make sure he doesn’t end up like “the players who make millions of dollars and still somehow end up living paycheck to paycheck.”
One of the first things Mr. Farmar said he did with his money was purchase several rental properties in Los Angeles, so he could “make my money work for me.”
Mr. Jones of the Heat, who is the players union’s secretary-treasurer, was a finance major when he was at the University of Miami. He said he tried to keep himself on a 20/80 budget when he joined the league in 2003—spending 20% of his salary, saving 80%. When he played for the Suns from 2005 to 2007, he rented an apartment in Phoenix while paying off a mortgage and taxes on a home he bought in Miami. If he came into the league now, he said, he would have only had one property at a time.
Unfortunately not everybody has gotten the memo:
Mark Bartelstein, an agent whose firm represents more than 30 players, said that even though most players have financial advisers, “the key isn’t having one, it’s actually listening to one.”
When asked how the union is encouraging younger players to save money, J.J. Hickson, a 22-year-old first-round pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers, said: “I don’t know anything about that saving stuff.”
We all know Trey Songz has been gunning for R. Kelly’s R&B crown for a minute. Since they both dropped new music today, we figured today was as good a day as any to see who really runs it in 2010.
R. Kelly – Taxi Cab
Trey Songz – Don’t Forget Ya Ring
So: Old School or New School???
