Style Gallery: 'Tis The Season For Red Dresses And Green Dresses

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 10:03 AM PST

Growing up in my family, the rule was always that after we saw Santa Claus at the Thanksgiving Day Parade we were officially allowed to sing Christmas carols. I see no reason why this shouldn’t apply to Xmas-colored clothing as well, so I keep all of my red and green clothes packed up in a box labeled “Do Not Open Until Matt Lauer Says Goodbye.”  (Juust kidding, I pretty much only wear black.). To get the season started right, here’s a roundup of celebs rocking red and rocking green.

  • Rihanna in a maroon ensemble.
  • Kristin Cavallari was looking elvin in green.
  • Jennifer Hudson in burgundy.
  • Cobie Smulders wore olive.
  • Kat De Luna smolders in bright red.
  • While Christina Aguilera looked stunning in bright green.
  • Kristin Davis was so very red.
  • Olivia Munn went muted with her green.

How Romantic: Jessica Simpson Got Engaged While Watching TV

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 09:51 AM PST

Jessica Simpson is now engaged to former NFL star Eric Johnson. And in addition to learning that Jessica may have bought her own ring, we just found out that she got engaged while watching TV. This keeps getting worse.

Maybe there’s something romantic about getting engaged while doing your favorite thing. But isn’t it sad when your favorite thing is NBC’s Parenthood?

According to Us:

“I was watching Parenthood at the time,” Simpson, 30, said of Johnson’s proposal during a SIRIUS XM radio interview for The Morning Mash Up.

Her ex-NFLer beau, 31, “made me pause it,” the singer explains. “I was like, ‘It’s a really good part in Parenthood…it’s an emotional fight right now.’”

“[Eric's] like, ‘I know, but I just got to show you something.’”

Interestingly, the story is that Eric told Jessica’s family he was planning to propose weeks before. (Which means it was less of a revenge proposal for Nick Lachey and Venessa Minnillo’s engagement a few weeks earlier.) Ok, maybe. Here’s how Jessica tells it:

“It was definitely one of those moments where I've never felt that way before, ever,” the star said in her Morning Mashup chat. “I can’t believe all the Simpsons kept a secret.”

Crushable Quotable: Emma Watson Doesn't Want To Smell Like Someone Else

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 08:11 AM PST

Oh little British Emma Watson. The Harry Potter star only just learned about bagels when she started attending Brown University in Providence. And now she’s perplexed by another American tradition: celebrity fragrances. Famous people may be making a killing by selling scents to their fans, but Emma doesn’t get it. She tells the British Press Association:

"I can't understand this fragrance thing. Why would you want to smell like somebody else? Don't you want to smell like yourself?"

Actually, she makes a good point.

But that’s not going to stop celebs from selling perfume or fans from buying it.
