Reggae Artist Vybz Kartel Bleaches His Skin, Says It's No Different Than Tanning!

Formerly brown-skinned reggae artist Vybz Kartel is walking around about five shades lighter to the shock and dismay of his fans.  Get the deets on how Vybz went from cocoa to butter pecan inside...

 

Vybz Kartel, a Jamaican Reggae and dancehall artist, recently lightened his skin and it's not going over well with his fans.  For his part, Vybz says his skin lightening is similar to tanning.  SMH.

When asked about the change Vybz replied,

"This is my new image.  You can expect the unexpected. I feel comfortable with black people lightening their skin. They want a different look. It's tantamount to white people getting a sun tan."

Although he won't reveal what he is using to change his complexion, some sources say that his newly endorsed brand of cake soap can lighten the skin.  But even that is up for debate since fellow artist, Bounty Killer, claims his own mother has used Vybz's cake soap and her skin has not changed. 

First Sammy Sosa....now this.  How do you feel about black folks going a few shades lighter?

Well damn.  After getting made fun of this week for some older not-so-flattering shirtless pics of him hitting the net, Drake decided to take matters into his own pants, er....hands.  But not everyone is convinced it is him.

 

Drake's been in London performing with J.Cole.  So Drizzy released this pic of himself working out shirtless and showing off his package.  Check out the pleasant surprise when you read on....

Some folks say this isn't Drake....and his Twitter timeline does not have this pic on it.  But could it have been removed?

Rumor has it that actor Hill Harper may be dating video vixen Dollicia Bryan. The pair have been spotted out at several places and Hill even talks about her on Twitter. Get the deets inside...

 

Seems as though actor and relationship expert Hill Harper may be in the midst of a brand new relationship. He's been spotted out and about with video vixen Dollicia Bryan, whom he met while shooting a movie with Meagan Good, which comes out at the end of the year.

Sources say sparks flew on the set and the two have been seen at dinners and out on dates together for the past four months in LA.

Hill recently raved about Dollicia on his Twitter page saying,

 

Just ate at my girl @DolliciaB 's house & She's just not a pretty face w/ the sexiest...She can throw down in the kitchen!!!

WIG OUT!  Nicki Minaj is now rocking a pink hi-top curly fade in Londontown, while Rihanna added tons of curly volume to her firey red hair for a wild and curly new look.

Nicki Minaj and all her alter egos were spotted leaving her central London Dorchester hotel yesterday ahead of her series of secret shows she just kicked off in the city.  And what better way to say wassup to your British fans than to rock an extra pink 80's look--complete with a  curly pink slanted hi-top fade and pink printed jumpsuit and huge earrings.

Interesting. She was on her way to BBC Radio 1 to do some press.

 

And Rihanna was spotted heading out for a night of Hollywood partying last night at Las Palmas Nightclub:

OUT & ABOUT: Jay-Z Hits The Nets Game+Jennifer Hudson Flaunts Her Figure For DISNEY & Dishes Wedding Details

Jennifer Hudson rocked a cute nude dress and flats for the kick off celebration of Disney's huge new Disney Dream cruise ship yesterday in Orlando.  We've got pics of her, her dishing about her upcoming wedding, and pics of Jay-Z chillin' at the Nets game, when you read on....

Lookin' uber cute Jenny.  She posed with Walt Disney Company president and CEO Robert A. Iger (middle), Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Thomas O. Staggs (right) and a ceremonial bottle of Champagne at the christening ceremony for the new "Disney Dream" cruise ship at Port Canaveral, Florida yesterday.

The Dream is the newest Disney Cruise Line ship and will have its maiden voyage January 26. And Jenny, who actually used to perform on a Disney cruise ship pre-"Idol"--has been named the "godmother" for the "Disney Dream" ship. Sweet!

A few weeks ago at the Gem awards, Jenny dished on her Neil Lane wedding jewels and pending nuptials to David Otunga.

On her wedding dress and wedding details:

“Everything is already set.  We already have our wedding bands and everything made, and Neil Lane made them.  I designed [my dress] myself. I did. It has its own show. It is a show, so it has to have its own moment with special lighting and everything, and theme music. Oh, I am so serious.  It’s white. That’s the color, in keeping with tradition. Baby came first, but hey.

Oh my God, [planning] is so hard, and then the bride has to make all the decisions, and that’s a lot of pressure. It’s like ‘I don’t know what I want!’

One minute I wanted this huge, grand wedding, and now I’m like ‘I don’t know that I want it so big.’ I have to make up my mind again. We’ll have to wait and see, but I know I’ll be wearing Neil Lane.”

David, Jr. will look just like his father in his tux. So cute. I’ll have both my Davids. Maybe he’ll walk Mommy down the aisle. That would be so cute!”

On her and David's "Punk and Punky's" adventuresome relationship

“We’re two big, giant kids, and we have the best time together.  We call it our Punk and Punky adventures. [laughs] That’s how we are. I think we complement each other well. He’s a genius, he’s super smart, and I think he’s the perfect man for me.

That’s the thing – you never know [what adventures]. We’ll just get up, and then there’s the day, and we’ll have no idea what’s going to happen, but we end up not like on this winding, never-ending journey, like ‘OK, what are we doing? Jay-Z laughed it up courtside with his good friend Steve Stoute at the Nets game.  He watched his team end a 6 game losing streak and beat the Utah Jazz.

By the way, Jay is supposedly teaming up with Will Smith for an "Annie" remake with Willow.  That'll be interesting...
 

SPOTTED: Tiny "Handles Some Business" In Santa Monica

Tameka "Tiny" Cottle was spotted grabbing some lunch and "handling some business" in Santa Monica, CA yesterday.

T.I.'s favorite red-head was spotted waiting for her driver at the Promenade in Santa Monica yesterday.  She had her girls--including Ray-J and Brandy's godsister Lil B--along with her.

When asked what she was up to, Tiny responded, "Me and Lil B just got finished taking care of some business."

Tiny's looking cute and content these days.  I wonder if she and TIP got their prison visitation back after Tiny handled his situation earlier this month.  Funny funny...

MARRIED! Shannon Brown Confirms He's Made Monica His WIFE! [VIDEO]

We now have confirmation straight from the horse's mouth.  L.A. Laker Shannon Brown is officially Monica's husband.  And he's proud to let the world know.

The rumors are true.  30-year-old Monica and 25-year-old Shannon Brown indeed tied the knot in a very private secret ceremony.  Shannon wouldn't confirm the details like date and place and so forth, but he did just confirm that Monica is now his wife, and "he really doesn't know what else to say about it."

It supposedly it happened November 22nd.  But the couple is reportedly planning another big wedding for friends and family and everyone else in between.

That was quick.  The two dated about 6 months and Mo has Shannon's name tattoo'd on her wrist and a gorgeous 10 carat diamond ring to show off her love in the meantime.  And, unlike many of these chicks who have several kids by these ballers and stay in umpteen year relationships without a ring, Monica can now call herself a NBA wife.  When you know...you just know.

RUMOR CONTROL: Gabrielle Union Denies Being Pregnant

Gabrielle Union has responded to pregnancy rumors that started yesterday after video footgae of her toasting her boyfriend D- Wade and sporting a suspicious rounded belly hit the net.  Find out her response inside...

 

Call off the Preggers Watch.  Gabby said she aint getting knocked up until she gets married.  Global Grind spoke to Ms. Union about the possible pregnancy, and she responded,

"No, I am not pregnant and please let the world know I will only be pregnant after I am married, and that will be years from now. I want to play roles that let me wear a bikini and run around like a badass! LOL It's kinda hard to do all that with a baby bump!"

She continued,

"When erroneous reports of pregnancy pop up for different actors or artists, that can stop us from getting work...it's hard enough in this recession trying to find a job without our own people putting up unnecessary roadbloacks for us to feed our families."

Kim Zolciak & Nene Leakes Say They Will Never Speak Again+Raz B Claims Yung Joc Beat His Brother's A$$

After Sunday's racially charged throw-down on Kim and Kandi's tour bus, 5-months-preggers Kim Zolciak and Nene Leakes claim they will never speak again.

 

The twosome's break-up details, plus Raz-B's latest accusations when you read on...

NeNe poppe doff on Sunday's episode after Kim called her "a stupid b*tch."  It was all after Nene called Kim's "assistant" Sweetie Kim's slave and called Kim a dumb blonde.  The fight wasn't pretty.

So Nene has been doing a bit of damage control telling media it was not her finest moment, it's far behind her, but she will never speak to Kim again.  Life & Style reports:

“Tardy for the Party” singer Kim invited on-again, off-again friend NeNe on her tour bus, but instead of the two Housewives catching up on the latest gossip, all hell broke loose when NeNe accused Kim of treating Kim’s assistant, Sweetie, like a “slave” — NeNe’s word, not Kim’s. When Kim yelled back at NeNe, “F---you, bitch,” NeNe erupted and lunged at Kim. 

“I’d never put my hands on somebody like that,” Kim, who’s currently five months pregnant, tells Life & Style. “NeNe just snapped.” Luckily, Kim’s entourage was able to restrain NeNe, who shockingly accused Kim of being a racist. But while no blood was shed, both women have suffered severe emotional scars that will stay with them forever. 

“I wish I had followed my heart and not gotten on the bus,” says NeNe to Life & Style. "I will never talk to Kim again. Never. I want nothing to do with her." The feeling is mutual, says Kim: "I don’t need to be in a position where I am fearful."

Maybe this ish is for the best.  Nene also offered her apologies to her fans for her foolish behavior:

"It's an embarrassing thing to see as a mother and as an adult," Leakes tells TVGuide.com. "I apologize to my viewers and fans, and to my children and family and friends who love and care about me. ...I apologize to them for them having to see me stoop to such a trashy level. When you fool with trash, it can get all over you."

"I got up out of my seat because I feel like Kim is a child," she says. "I feel like you need to get up, like you would do for your child, get down to their level, look them dead in the eye, and say, 'I'm not playing with you. I am dead serious. You need to shut your mouth now.' That's what I feel she needs. It's almost like you need to wake that b---- up. My intentions were to get in her face and let her know, 'Listen, don't play with me. I've had it.'"

Oh wells.  Looks like they're on the outs for good.  And when we say for good, we mean till next season.

 

In other news, Raz-B's ish talking instigating brother, Ricky Romance, got beat up...again.  He was on his way to perform (perform?  seriously?) at the the Salute the DJ's Award Show in ATL.  And he says rapper Yung Joc's people responsible for this.  TMZ reports:

According to Ricky, Joc's security team stopped Raz in his tracks and refused to let him perform -- all because Raz publicly dissed Yung Joc in a song a few months ago.

Ricky tells us he tried to help get his brother past the hired muscle ... but Joc's security wasn't having it -- and roughed him up pretty bad instead.

Ricky claims he suffered some nasty cuts to his head during the melee -- before he and Raz were both forcefully thrown out of the Atrium Event Center.
 

This type of foolery needs to end. Stat.

"Basketball Wife" Tami Roman Goes In On Her Deadbeat Cheating Ex-Husband & Her Castmates

If you thought you heard the last of Tami Roman going off about her deadbeat ass ex-husband Kenny Anderson, think again.  She went on Richmond's iPower Richmond to talk more ish.  And now she's revealing just how many kids Kenny had outside their marriage, his brokeness, and how she got back on good terms with castmate Jennifer Williams.

This ish is just geting worse and worse.  So now, Tami Roman has revealed that her ex-husband Kenny Anderson hasn't paid her child support in a long while, despite his professional basketball player salary he once had, and that he had a few kids outside of their marriage.  Here's some highlights straight from Ms. Torrez of Tami talking about all that drama, her new job, plus the drama with the other girls on the show:

  • Tami says she decided to do "Basketball Wives" because she wanted to share her story because after watching the first season, she didn't think her life/journey of being a basketball wife wasn't really represented.
  • Once divorced from Kenny Anderson, Tami said she had to go on government assistance to provide for her children.
  • Kenny Anderson had not seen his two daughters with her in 10 years. Since the show aired, she says her daughters have spent time with their father but there are still communication issues that need to be solved.
  • She said she's just like everybody else and has her "moments" on the show. She said she went off on the show because behind the scenes it was brought to her that people were making jokes about her being on food stamps.
  • Tami says she and Jennifer Williams have talked their differences out and they can now be cordial to one another.
  • She said she was never bitter about the prenup because she was in love with Kenny and never thought they would be divorced. But she IS bitter about the way their marriage played out and that he didn't do the right thing after their divorce.
  • She said during her 6 year marriage with Kenny Anderson he had TWO children while they were married with his mistress.
  • She said she doesn't reach out to the other baby mothers except for DJ Spinderella (from Salt-N-Pepa) because most of the other women came about while they were married. Spinderella was with Kenny before Tami and Kenny were married.
  • She says she doesn't know if Kenny Anderson is actually broke but she knows he doesn't pay her child support.
  • She works at a finance firm now and she can provide for her daughters. She also said she's in the process of writing a book.

COUPLES NIGHT: Vivica & Slimm Party With Monyetta & Ne-Yo

Slimm's company Plush Blue Entertainment held a private party in Atlanta for his new fiance' Vivica Fox and singer Ne-Yo at a private location last night.

It was also the after party for the grand opening of Ne-Yo and his girlfriend/new baby's mother Monyetta Shaw's Emerlyn & Ester Boutique.  Pics when you read on...

Well don't these two look so in love.  Viv and Slimm arrived to the party.

Lil Kim's Cousin & Salon Co-Owner ARRESTED For Fraudulent Business!!

Lil Kim's cousin and business partner is back at the fraudulent business practices!  YBF has learned that Katrise Jones has been ARRESTED for fraudulent business practices!

 

We've got the deets when you read on...

We posted the drama from one of Katrise Jones' former employees who exposed Katrise as a horrible employer who stole money and committed fraud, didn't pay employees, and partook in bad business practices a while back.  Kim went into business with Katrise recently with this new chain of Se Swa salons in Charlotte.

On January 14th, 37-year-old Katrise was arrested at her salon in Charlotte for Felony False Pretense and another felony resulting from failing to return "hired property" worth over $4000.

Apparently, Katrise's businesses failed years ago due to similar foolery and she was arrested and booked then as well.  But even though Kim went in as co-owner on the new Se Swa chain this past September, things haven't changed.  Reason #5490 why you shouldn't go into business with family.

 

We're told Katrise was arrested at the salon located in Carolina Place Mall, in front of her stylist employees.  Womp. 

Katrise has a court date on January 25th for another separate charge.  Kim...come get ya people.
