Michael Lohan Imports His New Chick To SoCal

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 12:39 PM PDT

Earlier this week we saw photos of Michael Lohan gettin’ frisky with his new chick, known only as Bernadette, in Florida but today we learn that the couple have made their way here to SoCal to gross out the folks who live here with their new love affair. Michael and Bernadette made their way to Trousdale last night and feigned embarrassment as they were photographed by the paparazzi (as if they weren’t tickled pick that they were getting attention from the paps). It would seem that these two are planning to flaunt their new “love” as a new way to garner attention.

You can almost hear these two now, No no … no photos please! We hate the attention! Please, don’t pay any attention to us at all!!! To be honest, it’s a smart move on both their parts … Lohan gets attention for being seen with a young lady and the previously unknown lady is getting any attention at all. Ugh. I suspect this won’t be the last we’ll see of these two. I hope y’all are ready for more of this to come.

Watch: ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’ Releases A Teaser Video

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 12:28 PM PDT

Last week we got our first look at the first teaser poster for the upcoming new season of Torchwood titled Miracle Day and today we get to check out the first teaser video for the show. Now, I should warn you … this new teaser clip is very similar to the poster we saw last week … and not much is shown … but Torchwood fans might want to give it a gander just to see what’s up in the coming season.

I’m not really crazy about the Earth Bomb thing but I do like the premise of the season. The clip does tell us what time exactly the last human on Earth dies … and then the fun really beings. Torchwood: Miracle Day will premiere on Starz on July 8. Can’t. Wait!

Say Cheese!

When David and I were in Berlin a few weeks ago I was THRILLED to discover that the city was full of those old-timey photobooth machines all over town and took every opportunity to take photos with David thruout our trip. Like Polaroids, I’ve been a HUGE fan of photobooth photos for years. I dug out my box of photobooth photos to put my new ones away and I was reminded of all the fun strips I’ve collected with friends (and exes) over the years.

I spent part of my night organizing my photos in an album that I pieced together using a 3-ring binder and film negative holders … which totally rekindled my love of the photos. I’m not sure if any of y’all are into photobooth photography but if so, you can check out Photobooth.net to see if there are any old timey- photobooth machines in your area. Luckily, LA has a few options all over town so I’m planning a photobooth session with Darion and his mom who is visiting this weekend from Oregon. I’ve insisted that the most important people in my life pose with me for photobooth photos and I already have a few with Darion but I need a strip or two with his mom. I also managed to stumble upon a book of Andy Warhol‘s photobooth photographs online which I promptly ordered. There is something so special about Polaroid photos (the real one, not so much the digital reproductions) and photobooth photos (again, that are printed on film paper NOT printed out digitally) that I love taking and collecting. Any fans of photobooths out there?

As I mentioned, Darion’s mom is in town this weekend and he is throwing a BIG party for her at The Abbey tonight. I’m so excited to see her … it’s been ages since she’s visited LA. That’s what we’ve got planned tonight. I hope all y’all have a great weekend … mebbe it’d be fun to find yourselves a photobooth to take fun photos? Just a thought. Happy Saturday!!

Watch: New ‘Green Lantern’ Footage Is Screened At WonderCon 2011

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 10:53 AM PDT

Green Lantern, the big screen adaptation of the long-running DC Comics series, won’t open in theaters until June but this weekend at WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco, CA convention attendees got to see a LOT of new footage from the film. Early reports claim that folks who were lucky enough to screen the footage in person at WonderCon literally lost their shizz with excitement. Right now, YOU get to see that footage for yourselves right here … check it out below.

I wasn’t really aware that there was that much backlash from Green Lantern fans about the film but I can see how it might be inferred that the film is all comedy and no action from the first movie trailer we got to see last November. But the footage (basically a really long trailer) that you can watch below shows a lot more than comedy … it shows a pretty freakin’ cool-looking new superhero action film:

Oh yes, this footage looks MUCH better than I was expecting … tho, I’m not sure exactly what I was expecting to see. Because the film will feature LOTS of CGI, I guess I assumed much of it would look cheesy and, well, bad. Based on this new footage, the CGI looks sweet and actually believable. LOVE this footage so much. I am now really, really excited to see the film when it opens on June 17. What do y’all think? Are you impressed?

David Beckham Does ‘LA Confidential’ Magazine

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 10:37 AM PDT

Yesterday we got to see video of David Beckham being incredibly charming on Jimmy Kimmel Live and today we get to read him being just as charming in the pages of the new issue of Los Angeles Confidential magazine. In addition to being featured on the cover and in a stylish photospread, Becks is featured in a new interview that doesn’t really reveal much more than we already know, it does give us yet another nice portrait of the fine family man. Check out photos from his spread and his new interview with LA Confidential magazine below.

Firstly, how are you feeling? How's the Achilles?
DAVID BECKHAM: It's feeling good. I've just come back from Europe, which I wasn't going to do. I wasn't going to go on loan; I wasn't going to go train with another club, because at the end of last season I felt I needed to rest. But then after being off a month, I kind of thought I needed to do something. I spoke to the Galaxy and said, "You know, I think at my age and at this time in my career, I really need to think about looking after myself and working through this." They agreed with me, and they allowed me to join Tottenham [Hotspur]. And I did a little less than two months of good training there. So I feel good. I've only missed about three weeks of training with the Galaxy, and I'm ready for the season.

How was training with Tottenham?
DB: It was really good because—obviously—the Premiership is one of the most competitive leagues in the world. I got the sharpness back into my game. I've come back physically stronger and better than I have been for a few years.

What are you looking forward to this season with the Galaxy?
DB: I always get excited before the season starts because you go all the way through pre-season and don't have too many games, so when the competitive games start, it's great. I think it's been frustrating the past few years because we've come so close and not won anything. This year we've brought in a couple of experienced players and a couple of young players that look exciting. Hopefully, it's going to be our year. We need to work hard, and if we work hard, then we've got a chance.

Of the new Galaxy players, who are you most psyched to be playing with?
DB: Juan Pablo Angel. He has experience playing in Europe, and he's played in the MLS for quite a few years with New York. He's great for my game, because, obviously, my game is assists. I've already put so many balls onto his head in training, and he's scoring, so if we can [bring] that into games, it'll be great for us.

With the Galaxy's new season and a little girl on the way, there's a lot going on in your life right now. How are you processing it all?
DB: I love my career, but my family will always come first. We're happy to be having another baby. Our three boys are so excited; they've been asking for a baby for a while now, so they were happy when we brought the news to them. We're lucky enough to have three beautiful boys, three healthy boys. To have another one on the way, we feel very privileged. It's going to be a big year.

Obviously, it was a disappointment you weren't able to play in the 2010 FIFA World Cup due to your injury. How hard was that on you?
DB: It was disappointing because I'd spent almost two years away from my family when I went on loan to A.C. Milan to try and keep myself involved in playing in the World Cup. To get the injury like I did after being away from my family for so many months, it was difficult. I'm so passionate and patriotic about playing for my country, and that's one of the things I've always tried to get across, because there are certain people, certain fans of the Galaxy who have criticized me for going on loan, going away from the Galaxy, missing certain games in certain parts of the season. The reason I do that is because I'm passionate about playing for my country. But I've always looked at things like that—things that happen in my career and in my life—[with the view that] everything happens for a reason. There's a reason I didn't go to that World Cup; there's a reason I got that injury. You don't always see it straight away, but I think after a couple of years it kind of stands out that there were reasons.

Do you have another World Cup in you?
DB: It would be nice. You know, it's in 2014; I'll be 39 by then. I'm getting on. I would love to play another World Cup—it'd be amazing—but that's not my goal at the moment. My goal is to stay as healthy as I can, to stay as fit as I can, to win things, to be successful—and then, who knows? Over the years, I've taken each game as it comes; it's important for me to do that.

You moved to LA five years ago and were charged with making soccer big in the US. Did that feel like a huge responsibility?
DB: It did. There was a certain responsibility with me moving to MLS and moving to America and having the weight of soccer in this country on my shoulders. But it didn't feel like it was a pressure situation. It felt like a challenge more than anything, and I think we've been very successful in many ways. As a team we've not, because we've not won a championship for a few years, but I think the game as a whole has definitely grown [in terms of] the franchises that are coming into the league and the [size] of the crowds that come to watch the games. I've loved every moment I've spent here. It's been frustrating at times because I love to be successful and I love to win. But I came here with a positive attitude, and I think I've enjoyed that and kept that attitude all the way through. I'm determined to make it happen. But I always said from day one it wasn't going to happen over one, two, three or four years, because the soccer leagues in Europe have been around for a hundred years. For this league—which has existed for [16] years now—there's still time for it to grow.

In addition to playing soccer, you've done advertising campaigns for Emporio Armani, you're launching an underwear line soon, and you've done plenty of photo shoots. How do you manage to do all that and still maintain credibility in the locker room?
DB: It becomes a joke. The Armani ads always get a laugh around the locker room. Soccer is the reason why I'm doing these other things outside the game. Without that, I wouldn't have these things. But it's not to say I don't enjoy them; I enjoy doing certain shoots, but my number-one love is soccer, and when I'm playing that everyone knows that's when I'm at my most comfortable. I'm confident playing the game, and that's never going to change. Everything I do outside of the game will never affect what I do on the field.

There are rumors about you coaching Britain's Olympic soccer team. Would that be something you would be interested in?
DB: Not really. I love soccer—it's something I've done for many years, and hopefully, I will continue to do it for a few more years. But coaching—I love working with kids, I love coaching kids—but coaching a professional team is not really a passion of mine. It would be nice to be involved in the Olympics in some way because it's in the East End of London, where I'm from; I was part of bringing it to our country, to London. So I would love some involvement, but I don't think I'll be coaching a team because it's something that I'm not really passionate about.

Do you have any places in LA you particularly love to go? Any LA family traditions?
DB: There are so many things. That's one thing we love about America, about living in LA: There are so many different things you can do. Before we came here, the boys loved playing soccer, and that was kind of it. But now they're into baseball, basketball, skateboarding and American football.

Is that OK with you?
DB: I'm fine about that! I'm not worried. If they want to go into soccer, then great. If they don't, if they want to be skateboarders, if they want to be American footballers, they can do what they want as long as they've got a passion. As long as they've got the drive in them that makes them want to do something like that, then I don't care. But that's what LA has given us as a family—the experience of so many different things.

The man is just slick, period. And when he talks about his family? Forget it … the man is just too good to be true. I sincerely hope the rumors are NOT true that Becks and his family are planning to move back to England. I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing him here in the beautiful SoCal weather … it’d be a shame to have him go back to the very un-California-like weather in London ;) He does talk about LA with some affinity, don’t he? Perhaps the Beckham bunch will stay in SoCal after all ;)

Miley Cyrus Reportedly Ready To Sue Over The ‘Mylie’ Sex Doll

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 09:16 AM PDT

So … there is a new sex doll on the market named Finally Mylie that bears a striking resemblance to popstar/actress Miley Cyrus and there are reports that she is planning to sue the makers of this, er, product for defamation of character. Pipedream Productions — the ingenious creators of not just the Mylie doll but also “love dolls” that resemble Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga — have not yet commented on the possible lawsuit but, apparently they sure are selling a lot of their … um … products. According to the box packaging for this doll, Finally Mylie comes with “3 Achey Love Holes” … which, apparently, are in high demand.

“She's had years of practice speaking into the mic, and now she's ready for yours. Just add air and this teen-queen pole-dancing princess comes of age right before your own eyes. Daddy's little stoner is ready for you to bone her!"

Yeah, I can totally understand how something like this would be upsetting for Miley but, to be honest, the best way to handle a situation like this is to ignore it. I find it very hard to believe that any lawsuit on her part would be successful (porn parody like this is well protected, to be honest) and would only bring more attention to her plastic doppelgänger. Actually, folks interested in purchasing this doll don’t even have to go to sex shops to get it … Finally Miley is also available on Amazon! That’s right, sex dolls like this are listed on Amazon in the Health, Personal Care section of their site … er, in case you were wondering.

George Clooney Is Running For President . . .

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 08:43 AM PDT

New political campaign posters have gone up in downtown Detroit, MI announcing that actor George Clooney is running for president! No, this wasn’t an April Fool’s joke, the posters are background pieces on the set of Clooney‘s new film The Ides of March which is currently filming in Detroit. As you may recall, back in February we saw photos of Clooney and his co-star Ryan Gosling on the Ides set in Ohio but in March we learned that filming production had moved North to the beautiful State of Michigan … where these new prop political posters are now on display.

I kinda love how the iconic HOPE poster used for President Barack Obama‘s successful campaign is now the standard thematic image for all political campaigns. I’m not sure how I feel about the idea of George Clooney really running for president but if Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor of California then I don’t see why Georgie pie can’t hold a political office of his own. HMMM … something to think about.

James Franco Quits Twitter

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 08:18 AM PDT

Almost as suddenly as he joined Twitter, actor James Franco decided to up and delete his official Twitter account. To be honest, it really isn’t all that surprising that Franco would up and quit Twitter. He only joined the social media site weeks before he was due to host the Academy Awards this year and most of his tweets were in support of the show. Now that he failed as an Oscar host and he has nothing that he must promote, I can see why he would just quit.

Oscars host James Franco has disabled his Twitter account today after just a month-and-a-half on the social network site. It coincides with the transmission of an interview he recorded on Monday with David Letterman, in which he admits he had ‘low energy’ during his lamented helmsmanship of the ABC telecast for the awards. Some fans of Renaissance man Franco, 32 , have also noted that he deleted his account on April Fool’s Day and are hoping that the sudden disappearance is a Franconian prank. However seasoned followers say it lacks his trademark surreal humour. The 127 Hours star himself seemed to lay the matter to rest when he predicted the death of social media at a dinner in Washington, just hours before he pulled the account. Speaking at the creative writing non-profit 826DC’s benefit held at the Monaco Hotel, actor, writer, artist and Ph.D student Franco said: ‘Social media is over. Still up there. Going down. You heard it here first.’ Franco, who was speaking to newsite Politico, added: ‘My thought was ‘this is my Twitter. I can do whatever I want. But certain companies I work with contacted me about what I was saying.’ His tweets throughout that ill-fated hosting gig alongside Anne Hathaway, 28 , created a huge buzz on the social media site. Equally, much hype has surrounded the handsome actor posting pictures of himself sleeping with his pet cats and visceral home-made comics showcasing his acerbic wit. But a feud with seasoned Oscar writer Bruce Villanch after that disastrous night, struck a sour note amongst all the creativity.

It is entirely possible that Franco‘s deletion was an April Fool’s prank but I kinda believe he seriously deleted it. Let’s be honest, except for that funny photo where he tweeted a photo of his finger/penis, most of his tweets were Oscars related. For the most part, I think tweeting was more trouble than it’s worth for good old Jimmy so … yeah … his Twitter account is dunzo. While I followed him, I didn’t really get much from his timeline. I wonder if anyone will even notice he quit? Are any of y’all gonna miss his tweets?
