Jennifer Lawrence Shows Off Her Underwear In ‘GQ’ Magazine Posted: 14 Apr 2011 04:30 PM PDT Jennifer Lawrence, who received an Academy Award-nomination for her work in Winter’s Bone, will be seen in the prequel film X-Men: First Class this Summer and just nabbed the lead role in The Hunger Games trilogy, is featured in the new issue of GQ magazine. For her spread, Jennifer is inexplicably wearing nothing but underwear. I guess because GQ is a men’s magazine, women who are featured in their pages must be as scantily-clad as possible. HMMM.

Britney Spears Takes The Fam To The Grand Canyon Posted: 14 Apr 2011 02:26 PM PDT Britney Spears has been working hard behind the scenes lately to get ready for her upcoming Summer tour but did you know that our dear Britney managed to squeeze in a family visit to the Grand Canyon recently without our knowing it? ‘Tis true … while Britney was in Las Vegas, NV promoting the release of her new album a few weeks ago, she took the kiddies and loverman Jason Trawick for a quick trip to the Grand Canyon. This week, tho, it’s been bizznazz as usual … yesterday, she spent some time working at a recording studio here in LA. HMMM, I wonder what she’s got planned for us.
But, work she must … here is a photo of Britney making her way out of the recording studio yesterday:

ABC Cancels ‘All My Children’ & ‘One Life To Live’ Posted: 14 Apr 2011 01:30 PM PDT Sad news soap opera fans … ABC has just announced the cancellation of 2 of their long running daytime drama series. Fan faves All My Children AND One Life to Live will be dunzo very soon. You may recall that CBS canceled their soap As the World Turns in 2009 … and now this. Once these shows are gone, there will only 4 soap operas left on the air — The Young and the Restless & The Bold and the Beautiful (on CBS), General Hospital (on ABC) and Days of our Lives (on NBC).
Dang … that is a bummer. It’s very sad that all of these soap operas are dying because they have been a longstanding institution here in the US and once they are all gone (and believe you me, eventually, they will ALL be gone) the face of daytime TV will be changed forever. The only soaps I ever really watched were The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful (which have, consistently, been the most watched soaps on the air) but the storylines on both of those shows have gotten so insultingly bad that I can’t even stomach them anymore. If AMC and OLTL have similarly bad storylines, then maybe it’s for the best that the shows be canceled. I was impressed that One Life to Live featured a gay storyline pretty prominently last year … but the backlash that ABC received for doing so was very disappointing. I guess it’s just the sign of the times. Soap Operas are a dying breed. I wonder which show will be next. [Source] |

Listen: Beyoncé, ‘Girl (Who Runs The World)’ (20 Second Snippet) Posted: 14 Apr 2011 11:30 AM PDT Earlier this week we saw photos of Beyoncé on the set of her new music video HERE and HERE and today we not only get to see more photos from the video set but we get our FIRST LISTEN of Beyoncé‘s new song Girl (Who Runs the World). Only a short snippet of music has leaked its way online but it does give us a taste of what’s to come from B‘s new album (reportedly due out in June). Check out the new photos and HEAR a clip from her new song below.
I need to hear more to make a full assessment of the song … but I like what I hear thus far. I hope it won’t be long until the song gets released in full … especially since the video is nearing completion. What do y’all think of Beyoncé‘s new club banger Girl (Who Runs the World)? Do you like? [Photo credit: INFdaily; Source] |
First Look: Taylor Lautner’s New Film ‘Abduction’ Releases A First Movie Trailer Posted: 14 Apr 2011 11:09 AM PDT Back in January we got our first look at Twilight star Taylor Lautner in his first starring role in the new film Abduction. Today we get our first look at the young hunk in action in the just-released first movie trailer for the film. As you may recall, Lautner and his Abduction co-star Lily Collins were spotted on a dinner date together in Canada last week … and now we get to see them in action, in this new trailer. It looks action-packed, don’t it? I love how one moment Lautner‘s character has no idea that anything is wrong with his family and the next, he not only finds himself in the midst of spies and guns but he’s also a martial arts expert capable of fending off those spies with guns. LOL!! That being said, Abduction does look a lot better than I thought it would … I might have to actually see it. What do y’all think? Does this movie look good? Do you think Taylor Lautner has got what it takes to lead an action film? [Source] |
Mark Ruffalo Says His Hulk In ‘The Avengers’ Will Be Hairy Posted: 14 Apr 2011 10:37 AM PDT Last Summer we learned that actor Mark Ruffalo won the role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the upcoming Joss Whedon-directed film The Avengers. In a new interview with The Advocate magazine, Ruffalo reveals that his version of The Hulk will have body hair … primarily because he is such a hairy man and they are modeling the Hulk on his body. HMMM … sounds like a hot Hulk to me ;)
Thank you JEBUS! For the most part, superheros in film tend to be too primped and polished. It never made sense to me that a superhuman character called The Hulk would be completely hairless. I am very pleased by the idea of a hairy Hulk … because it actually sounds believable. I think Mark Ruffalo will make a fantastic Hulk … chest hair and all. What do y’all think … do you like your Hulk hairy or smooth? |
First Look: ‘Glee’s Prom Episode Posted: 14 Apr 2011 10:01 AM PDT It’s prom season here in the US and that means that TV’s beloved high school series Glee is getting ready to air their prom-themed episode. But, before they can do that they have to film the ep … which is what they are doing this week. New photos from the set of Glee have made their way to the Internets that show what the McKinley High School gymnasium looks like all dolled up for prom … check ‘em out below.

First Look: ‘Fright Night’ Releases A First Movie Poster Posted: 14 Apr 2011 09:28 AM PDT Last week we got our first look at actors Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin in the upcoming remake of the 80′s horror film Fright Night. Today we get our first look at lead actor David Tennant boldly featured in the UK poster artwork for the film. Tennant plays the magician Peter Vincent who fights the forces of evil and tries to help Charlie (Yechin‘s character) fend off the vampires. Check out the poster artwork below.
Many of you may know David Tennant from his work on the UK series Dr. Who … but I don’t think the good doctor ever looked this kickass. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the goatee but … I kinda love the idea of David Tennant in this role. While I’m still not crazy about the idea of this remake, I am intrigued by the casting. Colin Farrell as the vampire seems weird to me but I am LOVING the casting of both David Tennant and Anton Yelchin. This is a fun first poster. Fright Night will hit theaters on August 19. [Source] |
Watch: ‘Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Releases A First Trailer Posted: 14 Apr 2011 08:38 AM PDT In February we got our first look at the upcoming prequel film Rise of the Planet of the Apes and learned that the film was scheduled for a November release. In March, we learned that the film has been moved up to a late Summer release in August. Today we get our first look at the first trailer for the film and, I gotta say, I’m impressed y’all. Rise of the Planet of the Apes, based on this first trailer, looks pretty darn good. Check out the trailer below.
And here is the full-length trailer: Doesn’t it look good? But … I do have one problem with this film … while I have no difficulty at all believing that these super apes can evolve to the point where they enslave all of mankind, I am having a bit of trouble believing James Franco as any kind of scientist. But, I suppose, this film is fiction so … we must suspend belief for a minute ;) I was initially a bit worried by the notion of a prequel to the 1968 film The Planet of the Apes … but after seeing this trailer, my worries have been put to rest. Now I’m really anxious to see the film in full. Rise of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on August 5. What do y’all think of this first trailer, are you impressed? [Source, Source] |
Watch: Prince Talks & Performs 3 Songs On ‘Lopez Tonight’ Posted: 14 Apr 2011 08:04 AM PDT Last week we learned that the legendary Prince would make an appearance on Lopez Tonight last night to formally announce a 21-night residency here in LA and today we get to watch LOTS of video from Prince‘s appearance on the show. Prince chatted with George Lopez for a good while before he launched into a 3 song performance set. Prince performed his classic song The Beautiful Ones before doing a new song titled Laydown. He closed out his set with his version of the James D Train Williams song You’re the One for Me (a song that Prince actually wrote). Watch all of this amazingness below.
Here is video of Prince performing The Beautiful Ones, a song from his iconic album Purple Rain: Here is video of Prince performing a newish song titled Laydown. It is featured on the album 20Ten, which Prince released for FREE in Europe last Summer but has not yet released here in the US: Here is video of Prince performing You’re the One for Me: OMFG … these are AMAZING performances!!! I am SOOOOO bummed that I can’t see Prince perform the first of his 21 shows here in LA tonight. David and I have a previous engagement with the Alvin Ailey dance troupe tonight so … yeah. Because we will be in NY/CT all next week for Passover/Easter, I’ll have to wait until I get back to LA before I can see any of these Prince shows. Thankfully, these performances on Lopez Tonight are amazing enough to tide me over. If you are here in LA, you MUST MUST MUST see Prince at one of his shows … you must. And with most tickets priced at $25 each, there is no excuse NOT to check him out. He is just the most exciting live performer you will ever see, I promise. These are great clips! I can’t WAIIIIIIIT to see him live in concert again for myself :) [Source] |
Kobe Bryant Fined $100k For Homophobic Remark Posted: 14 Apr 2011 07:13 AM PDT During Tuesday night’s LA Lakers basketball game, televised nationally on TBS, Kobe Bryant called the referee who slapped him with a technical foul a “fucking faggot”. As a result of Kobe‘s inexcusable behavior, many called for his punishment for the offense. In an effort to preempt any punishment he might receive, Kobe issued a public “apology” insisting that he did “NOT meant to offend anyone” … but what did he mean to do by calling the ref a “faggot”? Unimpressed by Kobe‘s apology, NBA Commissioner David Stern fined Bryant $100,000. for the remark making it clear to everyone in the NBA that behavior and language like this will not be tolerated. Despite his apology for the remark, Bryant is now appealing the fine. I guess he’s not so sorry after all.

I, personally, understand that things can get heated in games like this, especially with the championship finals coming up … but the NBA Commissioner was absolutely right to bring the hammer down hard on Kobe Bryant. It is completely inexcusable for language like this to be used in any capacity, let alone on national television for anyone to see. I can’t say I’m at all impressed by Kobe‘s “apology” … saying that he didn’t mean to offend anyone doesn’t explain why he even used the word “faggot” in the first place. If he didn’t mean to offend, what did he mean to do? While it may be “standard protocol” to appeal a fine of this magnitude, if Bryant were really sorry he would just pay the fine and offer a genuine apology for his actions. It is my hope that the money Bryant is forced to pay out for this offensive infraction does get donated to a GLBT charity. I am so happy to see that Commissioner David Stern is taking this offense so seriously. This should make everyone in the NBA (and hopefully other professional sports as well) that this kind of homophobia will NOT be tolerated. Period. |
