Kim Kardashian’s Cosmo UK shoot: surprisingly pretty, or not so much?

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 08:41 AM PDT

kk1

Kim Kardashian is the cover girl for the May issue of Cosmo UK. Kim is a regular on the international editions of Cosmo, for whatever reason. Maybe her extraordinary Kat-Face is better appreciated internationally. These shots are courtesy of The Mail - I found a lot of photos from Kim's other appearances on other issues of Cosmo, but I think this one is a brand new photo shoot. I'm sorry if I'm wrong and this is an old one. I actually kind of like the shoot - Kim's not a very good model, and her own personal style is pretty trashy and tacky, and her Kat-face is out of control… but in this shoot, there are a few shots where she looks genuinely pretty. I'm a fan of the above photo, where she's wearing the white feathered bustier. Her face still looks jacked, but it's one of Kim's best "posed" photos.

The Mail has some excerpts from Kim's interview too - she's just talking on and on and on about body image and stuff. It's kind of boring, but she talks to such excess about taking pride in her curves that I now think she's got issues with them.

In this celebrity world of size zeros and obsessions with weight, diets and body image, there’s one celebrity that has broken the mold to stand out from the crowd. And Kim Kardashian said that she loves her curvaceous figure, couldn’t care less whether she has cellulite and always finds time to pig out on ice-cream. The reality TV star, 30, said she has never aspired to be a size zero and added that she ‘couldn’t care less’ if she was a size 4 or a size 14.

Speaking to the British Cosmopolitan, she said: ‘I have cellulite. So what! I've never claimed to be perfect. It's crazy anyone should assume that just because you're in the spotlight, you're flawless. Sometimes I pig out and I still feel great, and think, “That was so worth it!” That's how I feel a lot of the time. I think, “See this little dimple of cellulite here? It was so worth it for that cookies 'n' cream ice cream!”'

'If I was stuck on a diet my whole life, I would be really miserable. I love to eat. If you can't enjoy your life then what's the point? You can't torture yourself. I love Rice Krispies Treats, ice cream and frozen yogurt. I never aspired to be a size zero. Although one time I tried on a dress with a size-8 label when I thought I was a size 4. It turned out it was a UK size 8, so actually it was my normal size. But it made me think, “Why do I even care?” I couldn't care less if it said 14. It's just a number. Your best measure is to look in the mirror. I always say you shouldn't weigh yourself. I don't even have a set of scales in my house.’

Kim has often been celebrated - and criticised - for her round, curvy and sexy derriere, which she said she absolutely loves.

She added: ‘I see ridiculous stories about my butt, like how it has been insured. I feel like saying, “Hey, everyone has a butt. It's not that big a deal!” But I suppose it's flattering. Personally, I've always loved the curvy look. Even when I was a little girl and all my friends would be like, “Oh, my god, your butt's so big”. And I'd say, “I love it”.’

She also said she loved that she and her sisters Khloe, 26, and Kourtney, 31, are built completely differently to her and that’s what makes them all beautiful.

Kim said: ‘Khloé is super-tall, with great legs; Kourtney is tiny with a great stomach. We embrace the fact that no one is really alike. Our parents always made us feel like, “This is who we are, we're all beautiful and this is exactly how we're supposed to be”. We never had any pressure to look different and I think that's why we're so confident about it today.’

Although she admitted that Kourtney did make fun of the fact that she started to grow breasts at the age of 10.

She said: ‘Kourtney would always make fun of me for having bigger boobs than she did. When you're young, it's embarrassing. Your body is changing and it's scary. Then when I was 15, I realised it was great. I've never wished for smaller boobs since.’

And despite looking very different from her two sisters, Kim said they are great friends and boost each other all the time with compliments.

She said: ‘Having a bunch of sisters is like built-in best friends. We pump each other up and compliment one another. I don't agree with women judging other women when they don't know them. It's bad for the soul and your self-esteem. Nobody has the right to judge. Especially me! I don't have a perfect body, so why would I be mean about someone else's?’

The full interview appears in the May issue of Cosmopolitan, on sale 7th April.

[From The Daily Mail]

Um, she fit into a size 4?!? No, Kim. I do not believe that. I think you're lying, and because you lie about your size, I therefore think all of your happy-talk about your curves is null and void. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Kim's waist is a "size 4". But there is absolutely no way that her ass or her boobs would ever fit into anything resembling a size 4.

Ashley Judd’s memoir: repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 08:37 AM PDT

ashleyjuddbook
A few of you commented on our Reese Witherspoon People Magazine story that you were interested in hearing about Ashley Judd’s upcoming memoir, “>All That Is Bitter and Sweet, which is included as an inset item on the cover. We heard some advance details in this week’s National Enquirer, and I initially gave it a pass as I hate reporting on sexual abuse. Plus I don’t particularly care for Ashley after some of the things I’ve heard about her. (Read the comments on that linked story.) According to the Enquirer, Ashley writes that she was abused as a child by an older stranger and that no one believed her, that she was raped as a teen, and that she was a victim of sexual abuse from an unnamed relative but didn’t remember it until the memories came up when she was in therapy. It all sounds pretty harrowing.

While her ambitious mother Naomi and sister Wynonna traveled across America trying to make it big as country singers, Ashley says she went to 13 different schools between the ages of 5 and 18, growing up feeling unloved and unwanted.

Her mother and father Mihcael Ciminella, divorced when Ashley was 4, and Ashley admitted that as early as 7 she began suffering from depression.

The first of many sexual assaults that Ashley endured occurred when she was still a little girl living in Kentucky, where Naomi had moved the family following her divorce.

Ashley recalls in graphic detail being pulled into a dark, empty store by an older man who offered her a quarter to play a pinball machine.

She remembers vividly how he grabbed and groped her and stuck his tongue in her mouth. She was able to fight him off - but afterwards when she tried to tell adults what had happened, she was devastated when no one believed her!

Later, when Ashley moved back to Tennessee with her mother, the 42 year-old actress writes that Naomi’s volatile relationships with men were profoundly disturbing to her.

Ashley said that as a child she was exposed to inappropriate sexuality, loud sex in the next room, and witnessed her mother in epic fights with men, including one during which Naomi pulled a gun.

Ashley recalled playing with that weapon at a young age, loading bullets into the chamber, giving it a spin, cocking the trigger and holding it to her temple!…

When she was still in high school, the teen won a modeling competition with the prize of a two month contract in Japan. What appeared to be the break of a lifetime turned into a nightmare.

During the modeling gig, she endured the unwanted advances of one of the bosses and a male model tried to force her to perform oral sex. One day the young model accepted a ride from a Frenchman who raped her in his car…

In the book, Ashley explains that when her older sister Wynonna went into rehab for compulsive overeating in 2006, Ashley realized that she needed counseling as well for her own issues. In an effort to finally get help, she checked into Shades of Hope rehab center in Buffalo Gap, Texas.

During her 42 day stay, Ashley wrote that her treatment revealed suppressed memories of childhood incest she suffered at the hands of a relative. She does not name the family member in the book.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, April 11, 2011]

That’s just awful. I’m not a firm believer in suppressed memories. From what I understand it is a real phenomenon though and there have been repressed memories that have been verified as true from details given by victims. There’s controversy over the topic due to the fact that some memory “retrieval” has been prompted or planted by therapists and has led to false accusations.

Getting back to Ashley Judd, that’s really terrible all those things happened to her and maybe she hopes to help other victims. I question why she’s coming out with a memoir though. The last thing I saw her in was Tooth Fairy and that was the only movie she had out last year. Her career has pretty much stalled in the past few years, and if those diva stories are accurate we may know why.

Miley Cyrus claims she was misquoted about her disrespect of YouTube stars

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 08:16 AM PDT

wenn3278919-1

Last week, Miley Cyrus got on her soapbox and declared that "It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn't just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour." Miley was criticizing the Rebecca Blacks of the world, and although I kind of thought Miley had a point (it really should be harder to be an "artist"), Miley is not the right person to make that point, considering she got her start on The Mullet's coattails. If you want to read Miley's original comments, go here. I think they speak for themselves, but after Miley was criticized soundly for the interview, she quickly took it back. But it's not her fault! She was "misquoted."

Is Miley Cyrus seriously hating on “Friday” singer Rebecca Black? Earlier this week, the Hannah Montana star had some less-than-encouraging words for viral video insta-artists like Black.

Well, we just chatted with Cyrus at the Kids’ Choice Awards in L.A. and she wants everyone to know how she really feels about the YouTube sensation…

“I am a fan of Rebecca Black,” Cyrus assured us earlier today. “I love Rebecca Black. I just got misquoted. I think she’s great.”

The 18-year-old starlet is such a fan we may even be seeing a Miley rendition of Black’s hit song in the near future.

“I actually have this really embarrassing video that my sister has on her phone,” she says, “and I’m just waiting till the day that she puts it on YouTube. It’s me driving, singing Rebecca Black and my hands are not always on the wheel while I’m singing the song. Not so good.”

As for her relationship status (we had to ask), Cyrus played very coy about rumored rekindled flame Liam Hemsworth. When asked if she’s currently single, Cyrus smiled, “Maybe, maybe not. It’s a question mark.”

[From E! News]

So now we know. Miley isn't an oblivious bitch! Or she is oblivious as to how hypocritical she sounded, and she just decided to blame it on someone else.

In other Miley news, there's now an unauthorized Miley sex doll with… ugh… "three achey love holes". Miley is pissed about it and she's making suing noises although the makers of the "Finally Miley" sex doll (which sold out in less than 48 hours) say that they haven't received a cease and desist letter YET.

Lindsay Lohan rumored for Sharon Tate role, part in the new ‘Superman’ too

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 07:36 AM PDT

ll2

Given Lindsay Lohan's history of crack shenanigans, it seems utterly asinine that she would still be allowed to have a career. But over the past few days, it seems like there's been a spate of new rumors revolving around Linnocent auditioning for various roles. First, there was the rumor that she auditioned for the Lois Lane part in the new Superman reboot, which ended up going to Amy Adams. And now Radar is reporting that Linnocent is still up for a part in the film - perhaps as a villain? This is all according to Linnocent's crack friends, though. None of it is coming from legit studio sources, all of whom are probably horrified:

Amy Adams might have edged out Lindsay Lohan to nab the coveted role as Lois Lane in the Superman reboot, but the troubled actress’ hopes haven’t been completely dashed. RadarOnline.com has learned Lohan, 24, will read for a role in the movie in front of producers sometime in the near future.

“Lindsay plans to return from New York on Wednesday and meet with producers and read with an actor who is up for the role of Lex Luther,” a source close to the actress told RadarOnline.com.

The film’s powerbrokers remain interested in casting her in a role as a villain, RadarOnline.com has been told. Lohan had wanted the role of Superman’s love-interest Lois Lane, but is said to be excited with the news that producers are still considering her for another gig in the much anticipated film, despite all her issues.

“Lindsay said she would be ecstatic to be part of the Superman movie… it’s a dream of hers,” close pal Nathan Folks told RadarOnline.com when asked about the potential casting.

He wouldn’t reveal more details. But here’s the sticking point: the cast is set to start shooting in Vancouver in late August and the Mean Girls star could have other commitments, such as jail!

“If Lindsay is found guilty of grand theft, she would inevitably be serving jail time which almost certainly would coincide with the production schedule,” one source close to the film said.

Another role that is close to being filled is that of Lex Luther, the power-mad archenemy of Superman. RadarOnline.com has learned fledgling actor Adam Harris, who bears a striking resemblance to Luther, is in the mix and has auditioned multiple times for producers. Harris is scheduled to join Lohan for the read, suggesting the pair could be teamed together as villians.

Those who’ve already signed of the latest installment, tentatively called Superman: Man of Steel, include 27-year-old Henry Cavill as the lead Clark Kent/Superman and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, who will star as Clark’s Earth parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent. The film is being directed by Zack Snyder.

[From Radar]

Yeah… she's not getting a part in Superman. I can just feel it. But I do wonder why the studio hasn't called Linnocent out on her crack lies yet - perhaps they're just waiting to see if it blows over. Or perhaps legit Hollywood is now pursuing a new strategy with Linnocent: first, let her crack hustle go on uninterrupted, getting more and more press, and then some studio spokesperson will come out and say something nasty about her, thus adding some good press to the story, because everybody hates Linnocent. Of course, there's another option too. One of Linnocent's johns is a producer on the film, and that's how she's auditioning. Ugh.

There's also another casting rumor - apparently photographer Tyler Shields is going to "directing" a film about Charles Manson called Eyes of a Dreamer, and Shields wants Linnocent to play Sharon Tate, the actress who was married to Roman Polanski and murdered (while pregnant) by Manson's people. Shields and Linnocent have worked together before - he photographed her promotional images in costume as Linda Lovelace, and he also did a few other porny photo shoots with her. Like these:

Gwyneth Paltrow is shocked to discover her peasant ancestry

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 06:53 AM PDT

wenn5615788

As we talked about last Friday, Gwyneth Paltrow deigned to appear on Who Do You Think You Are?, that show about celebrities tracing their genealogy. The promos made it sound like Gwyneth's ancestors were all, obviously, better than all of our ancestors. Like, her ancestors were all Kabbalah holy men and scholars. Anyway, the full episode is online now, in case you missed it - go here to watch. Gwyneth's episode was a lot like all of the other episodes (sob!) - Gwyneth found out she had some cool ancestors, and some not-so-cool peasant ancestry. On her mother's side, she's descended from peasanty seamstresses who traveled from Barbados to America because they were being run out of town by the newly freed slaves. On her father's side, Gwyneth has some unfit mothers in the mix. What I kind of loved was that Gwyneth's styling changed with each new revelation - like, she had a costume change every few minutes, she styled her hair in all of these different ways, and the lighting on her was always beautiful. Having just recently seen the Steve Buscemi episode, I can tell you that not every celebrity gets that kind of styling and treatment.

In other Goop news, her cookbook is coming out soon and there are still rumors going around that she's going to be launching some kind of Goop magazine. The latest news comes via Page Six:

Gwyneth Paltrow’s quest to become the next Martha Stewart may be closer in sight. Sources say the culinarily inclined star was shot in London for the June cover of Bon Appetit, posing for a cooking and entertaining feature for the Condé Nast title. The Post’s Keith Kelly reported last week that Paltrow, who runs foodie lifestyle Web site Goop.com, is cooking up a food magazine with publishing powerhouse Hearst. Paltrow has a cookbook out next month, “My Father’s Daughter.” A rep for Bon Appetit would not confirm its June cover.

[From Page Six]

You know what is kind of stunning to me? That Goopy has positioned herself as a "foodie". Now everybody is saying it, and people don't even blink when she's referred to as a "foodie" in casual reporting. The bitch is always on a juice fast! And roasting a chicken does not make you a foodie!

Reese Witherspoon’s wedding photos in People: tacky or romantic?

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 06:52 AM PDT

people_reesesdreamday
Back when we reported the news that Reese’s wedding was about to happen, I said I would love to see some photos. Given how private Reese is, I expected her to release a single posed wedding photo, probably through the Associated Press, and to be done with it. Reese has a whole photo spread coming out in this week’s People, though, and they just put the cover online. This confuses me for several reasons. First of all, it’s Monday and we usually don’t see the magazine covers until Wednesday. (Kaiser reminds me that they did that last week with Elizabeth Taylor’s memorial issue.) Also, it doesn’t seem like Reese at all! This is a move that “stars” like Carrie Underwood and Hilary Duff make. This isn’t something that an A-lister like Reese needs to make public. Did she get a payday for this photo spread and is she going to donate the money to charity? She doesn’t have to or anything, I just don’t get it!

Reese Witherspoon’s country-elegant March 26 wedding to Pennsylvania native Jim Toth, 40, mixed her Southern roots with inspiration from her 1920s ranch estate.

“Timeless California architecture, rustic materials and beautiful gardens,” says a pal, gave the actress the perfect storybook setting for her special day in Ojai, Calif.

Wearing a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier blush-hued gown with a Chantilly lace corset bodice and full tulle A-line skirt, Witherspoon, 35, “wowed,” says a guest. “She took your breath away.” The gown was adorned with a double-face silk satin ribbon with cascading silk flowers, which matched the dress of Witherspoon’s daughter Ava, 11, who served as maid of honor in her own custom Lhuillier.

The bride changed into a second Lhuillier design – a white silk minidress with a party skirt – for the reception.

“There was a real family feel,” a guest tells PEOPLE. “There was so much joy in the room and a lot of laughter,” adds another.

For exclusive photos of Reese’s wedding – and all the details of her emotional, joyful ceremony – pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Monday!

[From People]

There are more details of Reese’s semi-rustic kind of country-themed outdoor wedding in this earlier story. I’ll buy this issue tonight if I can find it in stores. I’m really looking forward to seeing Reese’s wedding photos, and I’m especially interested in the decor and feel of the reception. Still, I’m kind of shocked that she went this route. Maybe Jim convinced her to do it for her career. He does work for Creative Artists Agency after all.

Reese’s dress is pretty and I love her simple hair and makeup, but why can’t we see her new husband at all? Also, why did she wear a blush gown? Is she so traditional that she feels she doesn’t deserve a white gown for her second wedding? I still really like Reese, but this People cover doesn’t seem like her to me, nor does the fact that she’s been hanging out with Chelsea Handler. Congratulations though, and she’s definitely pleasing a lot of fans. Reese is currently promoting Water For Elephants, out April 22, and this ties in nicely with that. Kaiser reminds me that Reese’s last movie bombed (remember How Do You Know? That was all she put out last year) and that could also be motivating her to go public with her wedding photos.

Here’s Reese out shopping on 3/24. This was before she got married. Credit: WENN.com

Carrie Underwood, Brooklyn Decker & more fashion from the ACM Awards

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 06:22 AM PDT

fp_7096653_acm_arrivals_ria_23_106

This is just another fashion post for the Academy of Country Music Awards - I already covered the two biggest "names" at the show, Nicole Kidman and Taylor Swift. I wasn't going to do detailed coverage on some of the "lesser" country acts, just because I'm not a country music person and I don't pay attention to it, but as I was looking through the photos, I was overcome by how badly these women dress. Maybe that's the wrong word though - I've always felt that country music fashion is way more prom-y and "Southern" obviously. Big hair is acceptable and necessary. Glittery, sequined, beaded pastels are in vogue, forever and always. So… by those standards, how did these ladies do? Above, we have Carrie Underwood in a lovely jewel-toned alice + Olivia dress. I like the color on her quite a bit, but all of the glittery stuff at the waist makes the whole thing look cheap. And I would have liked to see her do something different with her hair.

Next: Julianne Hough in this orange monstrosity. I think she was trying to match it to her skin?

fp_7096647_acm_arrivals_ria_17_106

Brooklyn Decker's boobs were there for some reason. I actually like the Victoria Beckham dress - I appreciate minimalism and a sleek sheath on a young woman. That being said, she needed to go up one size and have it tailored to her body, because this is too tight in the bust. I can make out every detail of her bust. Also: I'm disliking the haircut, but it will look cute when it grows out a little.

fp_7096650_acm_arrivals_ria_20_106

fp_7096651_acm_arrivals_ria_21_106

Jennifer Nettles in this sleek black number. I'm including Jennifer because I LOVE her. I think she's adorable and so, so pretty. This is an interesting choice for her, and I like that she wore something rather sleek to a country music show.

fp_7096693_acm_arrivals_ria_63_106

Sara Evans. She looks like she works at a fancy Ho-Jos.

fp_7096714_acm_arrivals_ria_84_106

I like the idea of Miranda Lambert's gown much more than the execution. Her boobs look great, the hair is cute, and white is a nice color for her (although she looks very bridal). I think my problem is with the metallic waist/belt thing - it makes her look "thicker" than she really is.

fp_7096723_acm_arrivals_ria_93_106

Martina McBride had a similar problem with her waist/belt too. I don't like this gown on her at all, though.

Hugh Hefner is marrying 24 year-old Crystal Harris without a prenup

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 05:58 AM PDT

wenn5505610
We heard rumors a couple of weeks ago that Hugh Hefner’s would-be bride, 24 year-old Little Mermaid-loving Crystal Harris, was cheating on her very elderly fiance with one of Dr. Phil’s sons. (Not the one with the television show, another one.) A rep for Playboy denied that Crystal and age-appropriate Jordan McGraw were in a relationship, and claimed that Jordan was producing Crystal’s “album” (of course she’s putting one out, she’s also working on a makeup line).

So it looks like Hugh and Crystal are moving forward with their wedding, which is scheduled to take place on June 18 at the Playboy Mansion. The ceremony will be held in the grotto area in front of the waterfall and the reception will have a “silver and white” theme. Preparations are underway, but they don’t involve a prenup, according to TMZ. You would think that would be a given when the groom is a millionaire 60 years older than the bride.

He’s 84 and worth $43 million … she’s 24 and knows he’s worth $43 million — yet sources close to Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris tell TMZ neither has uttered those dreaded words … “prenuptial agreement.”

Hef’s third wedding is just 10 weeks away, but we’re told he hasn’t raised a prenup convo because he “actually cares” about Crystal and doesn’t want to ask her to sign one.

We’re told Crystal doesn’t think Hef will bring it up before they tie the knot.

What could go wrong?

[From TMZ]

This guy has sons that are 19 and 20. They should sit their dad down and have a little talk with him about protecting his assets. At 84, Hef could conceivably live another 15 years but that’s a best case scenario. He’s about to leave the bulk of his estate to the last golddigger he hooked up with in a very long line of interchangeable surgically enhanced bottle blondes. Crystal was there at the right time and she seized her moment. She’ll win the marriage lottery soon and she knows it. Maybe she thinks she’s earning it. (I would say “on her back” but you know that’s not specifically the case here.)

Nicole Kidman in python & fur L’Wren Scott: gorgeous or dominatrix lite?

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 05:51 AM PDT

wenn3280785

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were also at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night, although I don't think Keith took anything home…? No, he didn't. He was up for two awards but he didn't win. Well, at least he and Nic had an excuse to be there. Nicole wore her biggest high heels (Manolo Blahnik) and this fascinating L'Wren Scott dress. I would have loved to have seen this on Taylor Swift… right? Swifty would have looked really cute in it! But on Nicole… I don't know. The combination of the "python" (I think that's real python too) and fur detailing…it reads like "dominatrix lite" to me.

I will say this, however: I prefer Nicole in this kind of gear than what she wore throughout the awards season, which amounted to a series of ill-fitting, too-frilly gowns. Remember that fug Christian Dior? Yeah. This is much better. But here's a question: what's going on with the fit of L'Wren dresses these days? Penelope Cruz's L'Wren dress seemed to be oddly tailored too.

Oh, and people are still talking about Nicole's frozen face. The Mail has an interesting piece (plus photos!) here. I don't know about her Botox (well, I do), but her lips are seriously out of control. This is what I could find:

Dean McDermott’s ex wife Mary Jo Eustace publishes “Cougar” cookbook

Posted: 04 Apr 2011 05:45 AM PDT

cookingcub1
Here’s a weird story. The last I heard of Dean McDermott’s ex wife, Mary Jo Eustace, she was telling the story of how Dean, her then-husband of over 12 years, had heartlessly dumped her for his “soul mate” Tori Spelling, just three weeks after meeting Tori and right after they’d adopted a baby girl. Things seem to be looking up for Mary at this point, despite the prospect of having to see Dean and his sour-faced wife on television for years to come. Mary, who hosts a cooking show on Canadian television, has penned a cookbook in conjunction with dating website Cougarlife.com* called Cooking for Your Cub.

Eustace instead sought revenge of a different kind, penning multiple books including the controversial "Divorce Sucks." And now her latest culinary venture "Cooking For Your Cub!" is ready for release – a "cougar cookbook" peppered with gourmet recipes, food aphrodisiacs and tips for "being saucy."

"I wanted to do something really fun and an anecdote to the whole divorce saga. This is for women who are in their 30s and 40s and are starting again, making a great living and don't necessarily need men financially," Eustace told FOX411's Pop Tarts column. "The whole idea of the book is to have a woman who is secure, dating a younger man, and cooking for romance and fun."

In keeping with her own Hollywood experience, Eustace has named each of the 24 recipes after famous females who have been through a marriage break down. There's everything from Jennifer Asparagus Soup, Courteney Coconut Lemongrass Soup and Oysters A La Madonna, to Mariah Bananas Brandy, Proscuitto Halle Basil Sandwich, Roasted Leg of Lamb (Demi Glace) and Beef Tenderloin with Sarandon Shallots Over Blue Cheese Mash.

"The concept of being a cougar is becoming a lot more mainstream, we've got people like Demi Moore who is beautifully preserved and at the top of her game choosing to be with a much younger man, and it is becoming really acceptable that you can have that choice," Eustace continued. "Then there is the likes of Kim Cattrall who was on 'Sex and the City' and obviously with a younger man during the series so we are playing on that, and now Susan Sarandon has a young boyfriend. These women look fantastic. I think it just shows that women have more control and more choice and don't have to be obligated to a certain type of man."

Another concept behind the book, which was co-conceived by Claudia Opdenkelder, the CEO CougarLife.com – a niche dating website that caters to professional women seeking younger men – is for older women to help their significant other develop more "mature" tastes.

"I thought it would be funny to introduce them to adult food – introducing them to coffee lobster, maybe a liqueur, you're trying to sophisticate their palate," Eustace said. "I also want it to be fun and sexy but do-able. It's got to be fun and it can't be taxing to do."

Eustace also hopes the marriage-rocked celebrities honored by recipes in "Cooking For Your Cub!" which includes the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Olivia Newton-John, Madonna and Halle Berry, are flattered by the inclusion and intends to send them each a copy.

“It's a compliment – a cookbook with good recipes," she said. "It is a testament to older women who look fantastic and are choosing how they live their life. I think that's a good message for women."

[From Fox News]

Look, I get the urge to date younger guys after a divorce. More of them are single without ex wives, kids and the baggage that comes along with age. They’re probably more willing to please and less set in their ways. Good for Eustace for getting hers and moving on. For the love of God, though, why is she calling the guys she dates “cubs” and talking about introducing them to new flavors and “adult food” as if they’re toddlers? It’s creepy and it sounds like she’s talking about a son, not a boyfriend.

To be fair, the book jacket says that Eustace was approached by the CougarLife ceo about cooking for her cub, so maybe she’s just on board for this idea and it wasn’t something she came up with on her own.

The CougarLife lady probably has to cook for her “cubs” at home because it’s embarrassing to take them out. You have the “he looks like your son” comments, along with the sticky issue of who is going to pay for dinner when your date is scraping by and you’ve got a lucrative career. May as well make some coffee flavored lobster and have sex at your place, that way you won’t have to face the reality that your boyfriend is living with roommates in an apartment that needs fumigation. I remember the guys I dated in college and I remember scrubbing some nasty tubs before I was able to take a shower. Some of those guys were really hot, looking back, but life at that time was much less convenient on so many levels.

I guess it seems inevitable that someone has put out a “Cougar” cookbook, because a lot of those young dudes can’t cook anything other than Ramen and it’s not like they can pick up the check on a night out. Ultimately it’s a marketing gimmick, just like the famous women that Eustace uses to name each recipe.
