Boris Kodjoe Owes IRS Over $200K + Miss Jones And Ex-Husband Plead Guilty To Disorderly Conduct

Posted: 12 Oct 2010 08:43 AM PDT

Boris Kodjoe, the star of NBC's "Undercovers," has been uncovered as a tax evader.  Find out how much Boris owes the IRS, plus how Miss Jones used her Mercedes as a weapon on her ex-husband when you go inside...

<!--break-->

Boris Kodjoe, the Austrian born sex symbol turned actor, has had a few issues when it comes to cutting the IRS a full check on April 15th.  Seems as though he's missed that cutoff about three times.

According to the Detroit News, the IRS filed a $37,497 lien against Boris on July 28, 2010 with the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds. This comes on the heels of an $82,745 lien filed against him on Jan. 28, 2009 in Los Angeles, and a $110,202 lien on March 3, 2008, also in Los Angeles.

Seems like the IRS is putting the lien on everything except Boris' Santa Monica house.  Interestingly, Tthe address listed on his tax forms is to a post office box in Santa Monica, Calif.  I guess that $2.4 million McMansion in Atlanta is in Nicole Kodjoe's (former) name.

Philly radio personality (Power 99) Miss Jones aka "Jonsey" and her now ex-husband, Kolon Patrick, both entered guilty pleas to a disorderly conduct charge from June.  She always involved in some kind of drama with a celeb or a celeb's mama (remember her run-in with Tina Knowles?)  Also known for the songs "Where I Wanna Be Boy" and "Sugar Hill" with AZ, Jonsey's altercation with Kolon involved her punching him and trying to run him down with her Mercedes.  Both were arrested and hit with fines for the incident.

"This was more of a misunderstanding and a disagreement over something minor," Kevin Hexstall, Miss Jones' attorney, told The Philadelphia Daily News. Jonsey and Kolon finalized their divorce last April.  But clearly they had a few issues left to discuss in the parking lot....

Sheree Whitfield's Doctor Date Is A FRAUD!

Posted: 12 Oct 2010 06:14 AM PDT

As expected, the drama of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" is starting up already.  And we've only seen two episodes.  The "doctor" Sheree Whitfield went out on a date with on last night's episode is a fake doctor.  And he's been fired from jobs and outed as a fraud as far back as 2005.

The drama when you read on...

<!--break-->

So on last night's episode of "Real Housewives of Atlanta", Sheree's friends set her up on a date with a "psychiatrist" named Dr. Tiy-E.  Dude showed up to meet Sheree at some jook joint style place with random bald spots in his head and some "grocery store flowers" (Sheree's words, not ours).  All this after Sheree bragged to her "stylist" Lawrence about this blind date of hers being a fabulous psychiatrist.

Dr. Tiy-E revealed he's a divorced man.  But what he conveniently forgot to reveal is that he's a fraud.  And has been outed as such.  We've learned that this is the same dude who used to be the guest doctor on "The Ricki Lake Show" and a contestant on "The Real Gilligan's Island" as the professor.  He was outed as a fraud in an Atlanta Journal Constitution article back in 2005.

Tiy-E Muhammad claimed to be a psychiatrist and claimed to have a doctoral degree.  Clark Atlanta University fired him from his real-life professor gig after his resume didn't check out and the school he claimed to earn a degree from claimed otherwise.  He ended up removing certain claims from his own website about who he is because reporters started to out him.  Here's the AJC article in full.  And after all this, this dude is still claiming to be a psychiatrist:

The former Clark Atlanta University associate professor turned castaway on TBS' "The Real Gilligan's Island" has called himself a psychologist on his Web site and book jacket covers, yet he is not licensed to practice psychology in Georgia or anywhere else.

Kara Sinkule, a spokeswoman for the Georgia secretary of state's office, said Muhammad, known as "The Love Doctor" on a local radio station, could face misdemeanor criminal charges.

Claiming you are a psychologist without a license is illegal, she said.

Muhammad, 35, says he's a doctor, but he didn't earn a Ph.D. in psychology at the school from which he has said he graduated, school records show. In fact, he attended Southern Illinois University for just one semester as an unspecified graduate student, said SIU spokesman Tom Woolf.

Muhammad said he left Clark Atlanta, where he was an associate professor in the psychology department for four years, because he wasn't paid enough and he "no longer felt that spark" from teaching. School officials said he left after they discovered his credentials were bogus.

A nonprofit that wasn't

Muhammad said that in 1999 he founded a nonprofit organization called "Man II Man Inc.," which his Web site states is "dedicated to uplifting, motivating and educating inner city youth." Actually, the organization is a for-profit company, said Cara Hodgson of the secretary of state's office.

Muhammad said he had not "filed the paperwork" to make the corporation nonprofit. "I'm still forming the board of directors," he said. On Tuesday, the Web site was changed to describe the organization as "community-based," rather than nonprofit.

Muhammad has said he was a psychologist in Illinois, where he was originally from, but a search on the state's Financial and Professional Regulation Department Web site and a check with the department's spokesperson revealed no evidence to support that claim.

On Saturday, a nattily dressed Muhammad was signing two of his self-published books, "The Secrets Men Keep," and "My Mind, My Body, My Spirit," at a Barnes & Noble in East Point and dishing dirt on his stint on "The Real Gilligan's Island."

Advice about love

The "Survivor"-style show, which airs Wednesdays on TBS, pits two teams of castaways against each other for a top prize of $250,000. Muhammad fills one of the two "professor" roles. The heavily promoted show debuted June 8 and will run through June 29. It was taped in 2004 and has an average weekly viewership of 1.7 million people, studio officials said.

Wearing crisp white pants, an embroidered denim blue shirt and black leather Gucci sandals, Muhammad signed two of his books on relationships — published under his own Man II Man Inc. imprint — and autographed black-and-white headshots of himself labeled "Dr. Tiy-E Psychologist/Author" in large letters.

"If you go to bed at night not feeling comfortable with who you are, I feel sorry for you," he told the group of about 20 women, flashing a dimpled smile. "Everyone should love themselves."

In an interview with a reporter Saturday, Muhammad said he decided to leave Clark Atlanta in the summer of 2004 to pursue a career in modeling and acting.

"The job became a chore. It was a stale routine. It wasn't a challenge anymore," he said.

Asked Monday if he left the university because officials there questioned his credentials, he hesitated, then said, "I don't have a problem with that."

When pressed about the discrepancies, he said, "That is not anybody's business."

'Ricki Lake' regular

Charismatic and handsome, Muhammad first attracted national attention as a regular on the syndicated "Ricki Lake Show" as a "resident relationship expert" in 2002. He made numerous appearances on the talk show over the next two years while teaching at Clark Atlanta. School administrators would not comment on how Muhammad got his job with a faked résumé or why he was allowed to teach for so long.

Both Jet and Ebony magazines quoted Muhammad as a psychologist and relationship expert in articles dating back to 2001. In 2003, Ebony named him one of 26 "Best Bachelors of the Year." Ebony officials declined to comment this week, saying they had not had an opportunity to check into the matter.

Turner Broadcasting officials released a brief statement: "Tiy-E Muhammad met the professor criteria for the production company to cast him as a contestant on 'The Real Gilligan's Island.' They felt he was a good reality character."

Laura Mandel, a spokeswoman for Telepictures Productions, the show's producer, said, "We do not discuss the casting process."

Deception is unethical

Marietta psychologist Mark Roland, a board member of the Georgia Psychological Association's independent practice division, called Muhammad's use of the term psychologist "the worst kind of betrayal of the public's trust."

"This is the first time I've heard of someone taking it to this level," Roland said. "It raises legal and ethical issues."

Muhammad, who received a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Eastern Illinois University, said Monday he was unaware that claiming to be a psychologist without a license was illegal.

"I checked it out when I moved here. It's not against the law," he said.

But when a reporter read Muhammad the Georgia Law Code that relates to psychologists (Sec. 43-39-7), he said, "I'm a life coach, I say I'm a life coach. It makes things simpler."

On Tuesday, he changed his Web site, dropping the description of himself as a psychologist. He later acknowledged he had not graduated from Southern Illinois but said he had a doctorate from an unaccredited online university. He did not provide immediate documentation.

His own radio show

In the last five years, Muhammad has spoken on dozens of college campuses around the country, from Georgia Tech to Notre Dame. He said he gets 50 to 75 e-mails a day through his Web site, www.onelovepoet.com, asking for relationship advice.

He's turned "Secrets Men Keep" into a play that is scheduled for Sept. 6-11 at the Bois-feuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center, backed by local theater promoter Preston Elliott. Muhammad ran his own casting call in May and will play the lead. A promotional flier says the play is a "Man II Man Development" production.

Muhammad co-hosts with Ramona Debreaux on HOT 107.9 a Wednesday morning radio show on relationships.

General Manager Wayne Brown said the station does not refer to Muhammad as a psychologist or Ph.D. They call him "The Love Doctor."

"I don't think you need to be a doctor to have a male opinion," Brown said.

Former Clark Atlanta University student Ivory Jones, who graduated with a minor in psychology in 2000, said students often questioned Muhammad's teaching methods.

"It seemed more like he wanted to come across as a ladies' man and not as a legit professor," Jones said. "He's really attractive and well-spoken. I guess that's why he was able to carry it off for so long."

Delusion is VERY real in the ATL.

Article On Morehouse's Cross-Dressing Gay Community Stirs Controversy, Response From University President

Posted: 11 Oct 2010 01:45 PM PDT

The latest print issue of VIBE magazine contains a provocative article called "The Mean Girls Of Morehouse" which looks into the lives of four current and former Morehouse students who dress as "women" and represent a small segment of the openly gay community at Morehouse.  And it raised hell on the internet streets.

We have highlights from the article, plus the college President's response for you inside....

<!--break-->

The article, written by Aliya S. King, profiles four students (two current, two former) who choose to dress as women, meaning they "...rock makeup, Marc Jacobs tote bags, sky-high heels and Beyonce - style hair weaves."

The story itself developed from the controversial dress code policy issued by Morehouse recently stating that students were not allowed to wear caps, do-rags, sunglasses or sagging pants on the Morehouse campus or at college-sponsored events. But what had folks up in arms at the male-only school was the line that students couldn't wear women’s clothing: dresses, tops, tunics, purses or pumps.  So, who wears high heels at Morehouse you ask?

The first student profiled goes by the name of Diamond:

“Morehouse wasn’t ready for me,” says Diamond.  “I’m about freedom of expression. I’m about being whomever you truly are inside. I came to Morehouse because of all the historical leaders that attended and impacted the world so heavily. You know, I really wanted to follow in their footsteps. I don’t think Morehouse believes that someone like me—someone who wears heels and dresses—can uphold that reputation. But they’re wrong.”

Diamond is a part of a crew, "The Plastics," made up of seven or eight former and current Morehouse students, some of whom share a townhouse in Atlanta. He tells VIBE that he and his crew took their name from the 2004 Lindsay Lohan flick, Mean Girls, a nod to the A-list crowd. The Plastics all assume that the recent dress code policy was aimed directly at their personal freedom of expression, which sometimes includes foundation, cross-dressing, and even taking female hormones.

But Kevin Rome, the former vice president for Student Services for the College, says that people like Diamond are a small minority of the students at the College, and shouldn’t make up such a large percentage of the press the school has received about the appropriate attire policy.  He says, “There are nearly 3,000 students at Morehouse, and maybe three that [the ban on women’s attire] applies to. We’re giving such a large influence on a minute population. It’s not representative of the school.”

And it's also not representative of the school's gay community.  One of the most interesting pieces of the article talks about homophobia within the gay community itself.  The Plastic's say their relationship with the gay community can be downright hostile. "It’s because we have a certain aura,” says Michael, one of the Plastics.  We don’t care what people think about us when it comes to how we dress and carry ourselves. Some people are uncomfortable with it.”

Kevin Webb, who runs Safe Space, an organization that supports the gay community at Morehouse puts it this way:  “In some ways, it’s like it’s okay to be gay. But not that gay. Or it’s okay to be queer. But not that queer,” he says. “There is homophobia even within the gay community—which is something we have to deal with if Morehouse is going to progress.”

And if you're wondering about the stance the administration takes on the issue, here's the response from the college's President that was sent out to Morehouse alum:

Dear Morehouse Community:

Next week, Vibe magazine, a hip-hop music and culture monthly, will publish in their October/November issue an article on Morehouse. I strongly disagree with the likely substance of this article and wanted to write to you directly to share my views.

The article, entitled, “The Mean Girls at Morehouse,” purports to examine the lives of some of our gay brothers as it relates to the enforcement of our appropriate attire policy we enacted a year and a half ago. It seems clear from the headline alone that the Vibe editorial team’s intent is to sensationalize and distort reality for the purpose of driving readership. The title of the article speaks volumes about a perspective that is very narrow and one that is, in all likelihood, offensive to our students whether gay or straight.

As president of this institution, as a Morehouse graduate and as a father, I am insulted by what is to be published. Addressing our young men as “girls” is deeply disturbing to me, no matter what the remainder of the article may say. Morehouse has for 140 years developed men—men who are equipped to live and contribute to an increasingly diverse, global and complex world.

Let me be clear. I believe in the freedom of the press and its critical role in examining all facets of our society to foster reasoned discourse and to promote understanding of topics both popular and unpopular. We will not always agree with what is written. I disagree, however, in journalism that attempts to malign and distort, rather than inform and enlighten.

I need not tell you that the black male is already faced with challenges in nearly every aspect of his life. Injustices abound. Families are broken. And our young black boys are failing to reachtheir potential in grade school and middle school at pandemic rates. And while the world grapples with complicated issues related to economic disparity, racism, sustainability, and diversity and tolerance, Morehouse stands in the breach, seeking answers to the pressing issues facing our young men, encouraging dialogue and expecting excellence.

The world is complex, and it is diverse. Morehouse reflects that same complexity and that same diversity. It is unfortunate that the Vibe article will heighten misunderstandings and advance or inform little.

In the end, no media outlet can shape who we are or in any way diminish our mission. But together we can encourage media outlets like Vibe to provide fair, well-researched and balanced journalism.

Finally, Morehouse will stand by its values. We will continue to set high standards and focus on the development of our young men. Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Robert M. Franklin

President

Morehouse College

Hmmm.  You can read Dr. Franklin's entire response here.  Your thoughts?

Gabby looks FAB.

Nicki Minaj and Will.I.Am performed live at Regis & Kelly with their single 'Check It Out.'

Nicki rocked a shoulder length bleached blonde wig during the performance.  The dress she rocked was pretty interesting.  Looked like a mixture of leather and net.
