Posted: 04 Nov 2010 05:46 AM PDT The only thing more unbelievable than the fact that this has happened twice in one week is the amazing amount of luck that this little boy had. A 18-month-old baby boy fell seven stories in Paris before bouncing off a cafe awning and into the arms of a quick-thinking passerby, police said. The Parisian toddler was playing with his 4-year-old sister while their parents went for a stroll Monday, a French holiday, when he somehow she fell out of the seventh-floor apartment window. A young man saw the baby tumble out the window and alerted his father, who ran, with arms outstretched, to catch the boy after he bounced off the awning of Le Vincennes. “My son saw a little boy on a balcony. He had gone right outside the railing … I said to myself I mustn’t miss him,” local doctor Philippe Bensignor, told reporters. The boy appeared to have no injuries and was brought to a nearby hospital Monday for further observation. “The little boy was fine. He cried a little bit but calmed down straightaway,” Bensignor added. The owner of the cafe said that he left the awning open that afternoon by chance, and that he usually rolled it up. Lucky or not, there will be consequences to these kids’ parents’ recklessness. French police detained the parents of the boy for questioning. “The parents were absent, and it’s a bit difficult questioning (the children) given their age,” a police spokesman said. Did We Say Thursday?’ Rikers Island Reneges On Letting Jailbird Wayne Fly Posted: 04 Nov 2010 04:38 AM PDT Maybe all those Lil’ Wayne supporters tweeting #FreeWeezy last night were on to something. ‘Cause he’s definitely still sitting in a cell hours after he was due to be released early this morning. “His time was miscalculated. He owed, he owes one day of ‘good time,’ so it’s gonna be another night,” Officer Caraballo said Thursday as MTV News awaited the New Orleans lyricist’s release outside the rapper’s jail. Caraballo added that “good time” is reduced when an inmate runs into trouble behind bars. “If you get an infraction in jail, they’ll take away ‘good time’ — time that you accumulated for good behavior.” Although the officer did not confirm what may have caused the delay of Weezy’s release, it is possible that a May incident in which the MC was caught with headphones and an MP3 player, which is a violation of prison rules, may have come into play. However, a spokesperson for the New York City Department of Correction told MTV News on October 5 that the MP3 player flap would not land Weezy additional jail time. Caraballo said Wayne would be released “probably tomorrow” (Friday, November 5). A spokesperson for Rikers Island Correctional Facility, Officer Daniels, confirmed to MTV News that Weezy remains in prison but was unable to comment on when the rapper may be released or whether his time was extended due to an infraction. An extra day? That is so lame, lol. In the grand scheme of things though, that is only 1/120th of the additional time he would have served had he not gotten out on good behavior. Talking to this week’s Reveal magazine, he confessed: ‘My most recent overhaul was about a month ago. I had a minor facelift and my eyes slanted. ‘I also have regular peels and Botox. I’t something I’ll always do. People redecorate their homes every few years and I see this as no different. Changing my face is like buying a new sofa.’ Come again??? GTFOH with that bullshat! If you buy a new sofa and that isht doesn’t match your drapes you can send it back to the store — if you buy a new nose and it doesn’t match your face, guess what? YOU ARE F*CKED! You’d think this dude would’ve learned his lesson since he won £450,000 in damages last year from a cosmetic surgeon Dr Maurizio Viel, who the singer claims left him ‘suicidal’ after his lip implant operations went wrong. The Liverpudlian said he had his first surgery – a nose job – in the 1980s after the money started rolling in from hits like You Spin Me Round with his band Dead Or Alive. But he said even that went wrong and his nose was so crooked he could no longer wear sunglasses. However, he said it didn’t put him off and he went on to have an implant in his top lip, then filler injections. But in 2004 an infection set in, which saw his lips swell to 18 inches. The star – who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 – continues: ‘My doctor punctured it and the yellow dishcarge that came out filled two mugs. I was put on antibiotics but my whole face began to swell. ‘I was housebound for nine months and couldn’t move my head – discharge would pour out.’ He finally found a corrective surgeon who said he could help. Apparently when surgery isn’t an available option, he’ll settle for deforming himself in other ways: In September at London Fashion Week, Pete also debuted myriad facial piercings along his eyebrows, forehead and cheekbones. However, he’s now removed most of them. He explained: ‘I had piercings all over my face, which did look dreadful, but I got them done while waiting for my hisband Michael to get a tattoo. I was bored.’ Somebody get this dude a hobby. STAT! It sounds like he’s ready to spend all his settlement money on more surgery. Despite his repeated unsavory experiences Burn says he’ll continue to go under the knife and insists: ‘I don’t feel like I’m addicted to surgery. ‘I could leave it alone for long periods of time if I wanted…I’ll wait another couple of years before my next overhaul…my face might fall off!’ Might? We all know this nation is in a state of shock right now but the most recent elections have some folks shook. The Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine released a statement after the elections. He stated, "In November 2008, the American people voted for change – for a President that would stand up for the needs of middle-class families and a government that would work together to address America's biggest challenges. In the two years since then, Democrats have worked hard to rebuild America's economy and renew the American Dream. But tonight, voters sent a message that change has not happened fast enough. The American people are rightly frustrated by the economy, and Democrats are ready to redouble our efforts to create jobs and accelerate growth. With the two houses of Congress now divided between Democrats and Republicans, it is incumbent upon both parties to take responsibility for governing so we can move the nation forward. "In the face of stiff historical and economic headwinds, many of our candidates – with the help of committed volunteers and supporters across the country – outperformed expectations tonight. Democrats will maintain control of the Senate and we are fighting hard in key governors' races across the country.
