People really have the wrong idea about life these days:
A woman and her boyfriend have been charged with trying to sell her eight-week-old grandson for $30,000. Patty Bigbee, 45, and Lawrence Works, 42, were arrested in Daytona Beach, Florida, after they met with an agent posing as a buyer. Bigbee was arrested after police mounted a sting operation as she and her Lawrence Works met with the buyer yesterday. It is claimed Bigbee initially tried to sell the child for $75,000 but eventually struck a deal for $30,000.
According to Central Florida News, she was unaware the ‘buyer’ had tipped off cops who were lying in wait in an unmarked car nearby. Police say Bigbee and Works had driven with the newborn child to meet the undercover buyer and handed him over after accepting $30,000 cash. Detectives moved in once the baby was put safely in the back seat of the buyer’s car.
‘This transaction today was absolutely “take this baby, give us our money and go”,’ said Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agent Wayne Ivey. ‘Not only were they attempting to go this route with the transaction, but who else would’ve been willing to buy that child? ‘So, we’re just really fortunate that the confidential source in this matter came to law enforcement and said, ‘We need to take action on this’.’
Both Bigbee and Works were booked into Volusia County Jail. Bigbee was booked on charges of illegal sale or surrender of a child and communication fraud, while her boyfriend is accused of being a principal to the illegal sale or surrender of a child. The baby boy, whose mother is currently in jail for unrelated matters, is in the care of social services.
After finding out their fearless leader had been suspended indefinitely on Friday over some bullsh*t, Keith Olbermann’s fans and followers were in an uproar! So they b*tched, moaned and cried injustice ’til he got his job back.
Olbermann fans got good news late on Sunday night: Griffin announced the embattled MSNBC host will return to the airwaves on Tuesday night.
“I have determind that suspending Keith through and including Monday night’s program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy,” Griffin wrote in a statement.
On Sunday, Politico reported that Olbermann could have avoided the suspension if he had agreed to apologize on air for donating to three Democratic candidates.
Olbermann reportedly refused and argued to his bosses that he didn’t know making campaign contributions was against company policy.
After Friday’s news, Olbermann fell silent – but his supporters were vocal. As of Sunday night, more than 275,000 people had signed an online petition on the website saveolbermann.com to reinstate the talk show host.
One fan even created a Twitter account with the name ‘Team Keith Olbermann’ and numerous users tweeted MSNBC president Phil Griffin’s phone number, encouraging followers to call and complain about Olbermann’s suspension.
“MSNBC President Phil Griffin’s office number has been changed due to constant phone calls regarding @keitholbermann,” Twitter user @TeamKeithOlbermann tweeted proudly on Sunday.
A second unarmed man in two weeks lost a face off with one-time in Dallas yesterday. And neither shootings even made national news.
The first shooting happened two days before Halloween, and also involved the shooting of an 11-year-old boy.
On Oct. 29, a sergeant and four officers on foot patrol in the Cedar Garden apartments in east Oak Cliff came upon Tobias Arthur Mackey, 25.
They said Mackey concealed his hands and ignored officers’ instructions to show them, then made sudden movements. One of the officers fired at Mackey several times, killing him and wounding an 11-year-old boy who happened on the scene.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown last week promised a full investigation into Mackey’s shooting. Some have alleged that race was a factor in the killing. Mackey was black and the officer who shot him is white.
Yesterday’s incident is even more tragic because dude called the cops who killed him.
An unarmed man was shot and killed by Dallas police early Sunday morning after he asked people in the 3100 block of West Davis Street in west Oak Cliff to call the police for him.
The 911 call came at 5:58 a.m. and indicated that the man had a firearm, police said.
The man, identified as 32-year-old Tony Menchaca, acted erratically when approached by officers. The street was closed to traffic, and a SWAT team was called during a one-hour standoff.
As the team was assembling, Menchaca made “gestures that the officers deemed threatening, and five officers fired on him” at about 7:20 a.m., said Lt. C.L. Williams, a police spokesman. Menchaca was struck several times and died.
An investigation showed that Menchaca was not armed.
Williams said the department has launched criminal and administrative investigations of the incident.
Without national scrutiny or protest, do you really think the officers in either of these cases will actually be brought to justice?

Guess which celebrity BFF decided to give Halloween another shot at the MTV Europe Awards today?
We think Rihanna put her up to that sh*t. Because technically, Rih Rih’s gown was almost masquerade ball ready too. And she didn’t stand next to Katy once all night, LOL.
More photos from the MTV Europe Music Awards red carpet below.
We don’t even understand how this could possibly happen.
A ten-day-old baby girl died after being placed in a washing machine as it went through an entire spin cycle.
The newborn’s mother Lyndsey Fiddler put her daughter into the washing machine along with a pile of laundry.
The tiny baby was inside the top loading washing machine for up to 40 minutes before being discovered.
A relative who called in to see Fiddler found her passed out and the baby, called Maggie May, missing.
She also heard a strange sound from the washing machine and when she opened the door found the crumpled body of Maggie mixed in with the clothes.
In a frantic call to emergency dispatchers 26-year-old Fiddler is heard saying :’My baby is dead.’
She can then be heard arguing with her aunt Rhonda Coshatt who is heard on the call saying: ‘No I did not kill your baby, you did.’
Police have charged Fiddler with second degree manslaughter after initially arresting her on drug charges.
Family members had been concerned about Fiddler because of her past drug use.
Earlier this year they had tried to get her parental rights revoked before the birth of her third child.
The young mother had been arrested in April for taking drugs when she was four months pregnant.
She is suspected of being hooked on crystal meth and taking the drug the night her daughter died.
‘The mother was asleep and she had trouble waking her and heard the washer out of balance, clanging, so went to lift the lid so it would stop and in the washing machine, saw the baby,’ Holland said.
Fiddler’s two other boys, aged four and three, were taken into care by social workers.
The infant’s father, Benjamin Trammel, said he can’t believe his girlfriend deliberately killed their daughter.
‘Inside my heart, I can’t believe Lyndsey would have hurt our little girl. I don’t believe it in my heart to be honest with you,’ Trammel said.
Paramedics had desperately tried to revive the newborn baby after she was pulled out of the washing machine, but she was already dead on arrival at hospital.
Paramedic John Houser, who worked on the baby, said: ‘Terrible. I don’t even know how to describe it.’
Fiddler has a long criminal history with arrests for assault, driving without a licence and not having her two older children in car seats.
SMH. We say child services is just as responsible in this case.
