Conrad Hilton, III Carries On The Fine Hilton Family Tradition

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 01:31 PM PST

Conrad Hughes Hilton, III, the youngest child of Richard and Kathy Hilton, seems to be following in his older sister Paris Hilton‘s footsteps … which does NOT bode well for the young 16 year old boy. An anonymous Pink reader sends in a photo of Conrad posing with what looks to be a questionable herbal substance with a cigarette tucked behind his ear and a water pipe bong in front of him … naturally, this photo was posted on Twitter:

The person who sent in this photo maintains that young master Hilton likes to party a lot which is totally believable if you consider the kind of role models he has in his life:

You may be well aware that older sister Paris Hilton has been photographed many times with questionable substances and was just recently arrested and convicted of cocaine possession in Las Vegas, NV. Of course it is impossible to know if his reputation as a partier is actually true or not and it is also impossible to be certain what Conrad is posing with in this photo … tho, I think we all know what is really going on. THIS photo of Conrad soundly asleep at his desk in school is proof the kid ain’t gettin’ enough sleep … I wonder what he’s doing to keep him up all night long?

Kids … they can be a handful, can’t they?

A Disarming Tale

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 01:07 PM PST

Yesterday afternoon, David and I enjoyed a nice brunch together at Mauro Cafe at Fred Segal in West Hollywood, CA … it was the first time we had been out on a “date” in a while. David has been sick all week long and we’ve been pretty much holed up in our apartment for days. It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the beautifully warm SoCal weather:

We were seated by an amazing photograph of Audrey Hepburn which I took an iPhone photo of and manipulated/destroyed with a photo app called Satromizer. I’ve been playing with a few new photo iPhone apps like this one this week including Decim8 and the new Salvador DalĂ photopack for Hipstamatic (plus, I’m newly obsessed with Instagram). It’s amazing how many more fun photos I take with just these few photo apps. I don’t even carry around a camera anymore cuz all I need is my iPhone. But, I’m digressing.

After brunch, David wanted to see the new Danny Boyle film 127 Hours which is based on the true story of Aron Ralston who was forced to cut off his own arm to free himself from being trapped under a rock in the wilderness. The film is mostly fantastic if a wee bit heavy-handed (pardon the pun):

While I LOVED the movie, I do feel that the fantasy scenes that Boyle uses way too much in the film took away from my overall enjoyment of the movie. James Franco is fantastic as Ralston and much of the film looked great (a credit to Boyle) but I honestly feel the movie would be so much better if had less fantasy scenes (which, I’m guessing, is meant to convey the stuff going on in Rolston‘s mind in those 127 hours he was trapped) and focused more on Ralston in the moment. Buried is movie that I loved very much and is similar in the way the story of 127 Hours is told … and I personally feel that that movie did a better job of making the audience feel like they were in the movie more successfully. When the movie focused on Ralston trapped in the canyon, I found it entirely gripping and really compelling. There is a moment of realization where Franco as Ralston determines that the rock pinning his arm spent millions of years waiting for the moment he would be trapped … that he was fated to endure this particular situation. I don’t know … something about that part of the film really struck me as profound. Once the actual arm cutting off takes place, the story gets frantic and intense (as you can well imagine) and really finishes off the movie very well. Again, I really loved the best parts of the movie … but really could’ve done with a lot less over-the-top fantasy scenes thruout.

After the movie, we met up with Josh and Emma for dinner and then made our way to Hamburger Mary’s for a drag show called Stunning:

‘Twas a fun and crazy night. It was really great getting out of the house … we may even do it again today!

Hot Dude Of The Week: Kevin Freed

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 12:14 PM PST

‘Tis time, once again, to gawk and gander at the famed Hot Dude of the Week! Today, we get to meet a nice young chap who was photographed by the amazing Bruce Weber for the new Abercrombie & Fitch catalog. Say hello to Kevin Freed:

Those of you who are familiar with the types of photographs published in the various Abercrombie & Fitch catalogs know that Kevin, here, is wearing an awful lot of clothing in this photo. Photographs in the A&F catalogs tend to capture the models in a more natural state, usually wearing NONE of the clothing that A&F sells. Still, Kevin has that A&F look (and no, I’m not talking about his sleeveless t-shirt with A&F emblazoned on the front) and I think he makes a fine specimen of Hot Dude. Hopefully when next we see Kevin Freed he’ll be wearing a lot less A&F clothing ;) Enjoy!!

First Look: ‘The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made’

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 11:55 AM PST

The Muppets are back, y’all!! After many years out of the spotlight, a new Muppet movie is being made and will hit theaters around this time next year. The working title of this new Muppet movie is The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made … which sounds pretty adventurous, I think. IMHO, 1981′s The Great Muppet Caper is the all-time BEST Muppet movie ever made (and, I’ll have you know, was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater) so this new film has a lot to live up to. Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, here is our first look at actor/co-writer Jason Segal and friends in a promo image from this new Muppet movie:

It’s time to play the music! It’s time to light the lights! It’s time to raise the curtain on… The Muppets! After a decade spent largely out of the pop culture limelight, doing whatever semiretired celebrity puppets do, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, and the rest of the gang are starting production this month on the first big-screen Muppet movie in 11 years. And co-writer Jason Segel, who also stars in the movie (out Christmas 2011), is setting the bar pretty high, hoping to recapture the magic of the late Jim Henson’s vision. ”We’ve worked really hard to stay true to the original spirit of the Muppets,” Segel says. ”We’ve missed the same thing everyone else has been missing.”

To be honest, this sounds great. As opposed to the countless remakes and reboots that Hollywood loves to inundate us with, this new Muppet movie has the potential to be something entirely new while still maintaining some of the classic charm we hold so dear (The Muppet Show, which aired on TV from 1976-1981, is absolutely one of my all-time favorite TV shows ever). I think it will be really fun to put the Muppets in today’s modern setting and see how they interact in this new age. As you can see, one of the Muppet characters is even holding an iPhone in this photo. I love Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie the Bear and the rest of the gang … I am deffo excited about this film. Naturally I’m worried that they might eff it up but … then again, this new film could actually be The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made.

Prince Harry Takes The 2010 Soldier Challenge

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 11:28 AM PST

Prince Harry was on hand Friday at the Imperial War Museum in London to officially kick off The Soldier Challenge event in order to raise funds for British military charity. The Solider Challenge will put young people thru the paces of actual military training exercises in a competitive setting all to raise funds for charity. Here are a few photos of Harry‘s involvement at the kick-off event this weekend:

November 5, the 26-year-old Prince Harry helped launch a fund-raising project in aid of ABF, the Soldiers’ Charity. The event kicked off at the Imperial War Museum in London and will challenge young people to take part in military-style challenges. Both military personnel and civilians were present at the charity-supporting launch. The challenge will “tour” across London, visiting several military and more standard tourist attractions. Overall, 35 physical challenges will be set, including abseiling and crossing an obstacle course at the Tower of London’s moat. Participants will have four hours to complete as many challenges as possible, before returning to the end camp at the Royal Chelsea Hospital gardens by the River Thames. The Soldier Challenge event will take place next March and an “event village” will be set up with information booths, souvenirs and refreshments. The charity provides support to serving and retired soldiers, along with their families.

MMM HMMM … yes … charity … military training … interesting … Bear Grylls was at Friday’s event as well … now let’s get to the real interesting subject at hand — how about them pink undies that Prince Harry let flash at this weekend’s event? HMMMM? Why don’t we take a closer look at Harry‘s colorful undergarments, shall we? Check ‘em out, after the jump …

Hello, Prince Hairy! Not too shabby … not too shabby at all. Don’t you just want to pet that tummy? I think it’s no secret that I love Prince Harry muchly … but the fact that homie is man enough to wear pink boxer shorts? Oh yeah, he’s a keeper! So … if Harry wears the pink undies in the family, I wonder what Prince William likes to wear. Any guesses?

The Upcoming ‘Star Trek’ Sequel Releases A Teaser Poster

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 10:22 AM PST

Back in January we learned that the Star Trek sequel, once again directed by JJ Abrams, had been given a release date of June 29, 2012 … today we get our first look at the first teaser poster released for the film:

Now before anyone jumps to any conclusions about what this Star Trek sequel image/poster/whatever the hell this thing is, I'm quite sure it isn't from Paramount or J.J. Abrams Bad Robot. I have a friend who works in (removed for obvious reasons) and this image/poster came across his desk today. If I were a betting man, I'd say the image is for some sort of merchandising item, or for some group that needs to plan very far ahead. But I really don't know where it originates from. Hell, it could be an image from an upcoming Star Trek calendar. However, with interest in the Star Trek sequel quite high, I thought it would be smart to share the image. Like most of you, I loved J.J. Abrams Star Trek and cannot wait for this sequel.

HMMM … it’s a cool poster, I guess but, yeah, it’s nothing special. It makes sense that this promo poster may have nothing to do with the Star Trek sequel directly but the fact that it reads Summer 2012 is a pretty good indicator that it, at the very least, has something to do with the film due out in June 2012. It’s crazy to think that far in advance but, time really flies … it really won’t be long until the film goes into filming production and then BAM! it’ll be opening weekend. These promo things just keep coming out earlier and earlier, don’t they?

Cruz Beckham Shreds At A SoCal Skate Park

Posted: 07 Nov 2010 09:46 AM PST

Victoria Beckham took two of her sons to a skate park here in SoCal yesterday so that her boys could do a bit of shredding on their skateboards. Youngest Beckham child Cruz David did a pretty decent job on his board and altho he fell down a few times, he managed to show some skill as a skateboarder:

His mother was on hand to watch approvingly … from the backseat of her chauffeured car:

It is safe to say that the skateboard park is not her usual hang out – pencil skirts and Christian Louboutins would look a little out of place on the ramps. So it is perhaps unsurprising that Victoria Beckham chose to stay in her car while two of her sons Brooklyn and Cruz tried out their moves at a local park in Brentwood yesterday. But the mother-of-three kept a watchful eye over the children from the driver’s seat, and nervously bit her nails as little Cruz took a tumble. Luckily, it wasn’t a bad fall and the fearless tot dusted himself off and was tearing up the park again in time. The boys were taking their new wheels for a spin after they were spotted the day before with David picking out new skateboards at a Burton store in LA. Oldest son Brooklyn, 11, also showed off his boarding finesse, trying out some tricks while a male carer looked on. Victoria’ hideout may have been in an effort to keep a low profile, after 35-year-old David was surrounded by fans yesterday. The footballer had popped out to pick up some cold drinks when he was spotted by some female fans who seized upon their opportunity to get a picture with the star. Ever the professional, David obliged, signing autographs, posing for pictures and politely chatting to his group of admirers. Despite the sport still having a relatively low profile in the US compared to favourite American past times like baseball, basketball and American football, Beckham has quickly reached the level of fame over there as he has in Britain.

Awww … so cute. Little Cruz is just adorable. I love that he is so active and seems so willing to try new things. I have a feeling that he is going to grow up to be the most rambunctious one of the 3 Beckham boys. I can’t say that I blame Vicki B. for lookin’ so nervous while her baby skates around on a skateboard but I think she could’ve at least gotten out of the car. Still, I must admit that I have no idea what it must really be like to deal with the level of fame that the Beckhams do so … yeah. Only Romeo James was absent from this skateboarding outing … I’m guessing that this particular sport isn’t really his cup of tea.

Conan O’Brien will premiere his new late night talk show Conan tomorrow night at 11PM on TBS to much anticipation by fans. For the past few weeks, Conan has been polling his fans online in an effort to select the first guest to appear on his new show and today we know who the lucky person will be. The field of 12 original options was whittled down Friday to just 3 people

Actor Jack Nicholson, the current Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah and Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum Curator and all-around nutcracker enthusiast Arlene Wagner. After the jump, check out video of Conan discussing these final 3 candidates and find out — if you wish to be spoiled — which one has been chosen as the first guest to appear on his new late-night talk show Conan

If you watch the video to the end, you’ll learn that Nicholson is pretty much out and it’s pretty clear that the Sultan of Brunei is out as well … and that leaves Nutcracker Lady Arlene Wagner as the lucky first guest:

TMZ is pretty confident that Wagner will be Conan’s first guest, they claim to have a source “connected to production” of the show that confirmed that Arlene Wagner has been chosen as Conan‘s first guest. So … there you have it! Now we know which guest will grace Conan‘s untouched new couch … I can’t wait to see what other goodies he’s got in store for his premiere episode which will air TOMORROW night Monday, November 8 at 11PM ET/PT on TBS.
