Watch: Kylie Minogue, ‘Better Than Today’

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 02:23 PM PST

Kylie Minogue has released a music video for her new single Better Than Today, her 3rd from her new album Aphrodite. Here are a few screencaps from her very colorful, 80′s video game inspired video:

Better Than Today was the first song that we got to hear from Aphrodite many months before the album was released this Summer. Kylie performed the track live for the first time ever on her For You, For Me North American Tour last year (watch video of that performance HERE) and it remains one of my fave tracks on the album. After the jump, check out the fun video in full …

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! And don’t forget, Kylie will be performing LIVE at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, NY next week and my guess is that she will be performing this very track on that very day:

Tune in, y’all! America is about to get a massive does of Aussie hotness when Kylie performs LIVE on Thanksgiving Day :D

See The Place Where Prince William & Kate Middleton Got Engaged

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 02:12 PM PST

We’ve been hearing a lot about how Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton while the couple were on holiday in Kenya, Africa last month but today according to People magazine and The Sun, we are hearing that the couple got engaged on October 20 in a tiny cabin atop Mount Kenya. Here is our first look at the little romantic spot in Africa where Prince Wills asked Katie kins to be his future wife/princess/queen:

Recalling the moment he asked for her hand in marriage, a happy Prince William said he had whisked Kate Middleton “up somewhere nice in Kenya” in order to display his “romantic side.” Now, the exact spot can be pinpointed: a cabin hut some 10,500 feet above sea level on the side of Mount Kenya, Africa. He and Catherine, as she signed herself in the visitor’s book, were there for one night on Oct. 20, reports the U.K. Sun Describing their fishing trip on Lake Rutundu – but providing no hint that they became engaged – Kate wrote in the book that she had a “wonderful 24 hours! Sadly no fish to be found but we had great fun trying. I love the warm fires and candle lights – so romantic!” She signed it, “Catherine Middleton.” Practical Prince William brought along more than his engagement ring . “Such fun to be back,” his note said. “Bought more warm clothes this time. Looked after so well, thank you guys!” They had gone out to Africa to stay at the 55,000-acre Lewa Downs wildlife reserve with another couple. The ranch is owned by William’s friend Ian Craig, whose daughter Jecca is also close to the prince.

OMG, I love this. While I personally do not find rustic locales to be romantic at all, I can appreciate how other couples might … Prince William and Kate have spent a lot of time in Africa over the 8 years they have been dating so I’m sure this particular locale meant a lot to them. While it may be a bit … odd how quickly this information was sniffed out and published, I guess it’s to be expected of arguably the world’s most famous engaged couple. So now we know where the couple got engaged, we know where the couple will likely wed … all we need now is to know when the couple will marry. I suspect we’ll be hearing the official wedding date very soon.

Willow Smith Does ‘W’ Magazine

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 01:57 PM PST

Willow Smith, that precocious little pop star who sings Whip My Hair, is featured in the new issue of W magazine (which, I believe, is her first magazine appearance ever). In her short interview, Willow talks about the musicians that she is a fan of (David Bowie is one of them) and explains who inspired her to get into show business (duh, her parents Jada Pinkett and Will Smith). Here is Willow‘s W magazine photo and some excerpts from her interview:

It's hard to imagine, but Willow Smith has twice the charisma of her superstar parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. At just 10 years old, she has already scored a hit single—"Whip My Hair," which bumps as hard as anything by Beyoncé—and a contract with Jay-Z's powerhouse Roc Nation. "I like the way Billy Idol sings," she says about her musical influences. "Mommy turned me on to him. And I like Lady Gaga's songs." One-on-one, Willow is more articulate than many adults; what's more amazing is that she comes off as a normal kid who's just following her interests. "I can't do whatever I want," she explains. "Mommy has to say it's okay." Although she is "focusing on music right now," it seems a given that Willow will eventually end up on the big screen; her brother Jaden became a celebrity in his own right after taking the lead role in the recent Karate Kid remake. "Mommy and Daddy inspired me to be a performer," Willow says. "I get my flow from Daddy, my singing ability from Mommy, and the camera stuff from both. That's just what happens when you hang out with the Smiths!"

LOL! Well, if she was gonna get her “flow” form anyone, it might as well be from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air … cuz I’ve heard Jada‘s music with her band Wicked Wisdom and, yeah, she’s not very musically inclined. Willow is a star, y’all … this may be her first magazine interview but it certainly won’t be her last.

Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson Throw An Engagement Party

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 01:32 PM PST

Last weekend we learned that Jessica Simpson and her newly divorced boyfriend of 6 months have gotten themselves engaged to be married and today we learn from In Touch Weekly magazine that the couple celebrated their engagement with a small party with family and friends last night. Here are the deets from Jerica‘s engagement party as reported on by In Touch Weekly mag:

Less than a week after In Touch exclusively confirmed her engagement, Jessica Simpson celebrated her upcoming nuptials with friends, family and, of course, her fiancé, Eric Johnson, at her parents’ Encino, Calif., estate on November 18. The bride-to-be’s mother, Tina, threw a casual party with pizza and finger foods from La Loggia Italian Bistro and roses from Mark’s Garden for 50 guests, including Jessica’s sister, Ashlee, her brother-in-law, Pete Wentz, and her best friend, CaCee Cobb. “Jessica and Eric looked so happy,” an insider tells In Touch. Not all was smooth sailing, however — the singer, who along with her former football player beau arrived two hours late for the soiree, seemed anxious for guests’ approval of her unique ruby engagement ring. “At one point, she asked one of the servers what she thought of the ring. When the server said it was beautiful, Jessica snapped, ‘You don’t mean that!’” the insider says. But all in all, the blond beauty enjoyed her celebration. “Jessica is in love,” the insider adds, “and kept talking about her wedding plans and new life with Eric.”

LOL at the bit about the ring. While I have no doubt that In Touch is mostly right about the deets from the party, I’m guessing the ring bit is just a gossipy embellishment tossed in for good measure. In all honesty, this little engagement party sounds like it was a fun, tasteful affair. I mean … they ate pizzz, y’all. You gotta love how they’re keepin’ it real. I suspect that we’ll be hearing wedding plans soon … after all, Jess and Eric seem anxious to get themselves hitched as quickly as possible. Let’s just hope they at least hold off until the new year.

Janet Jackson Announces A New World Tour

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 12:49 PM PST

Great news to pass along today, Janet Jackson fans. Hot on the heels of a very successful and bizzy year, Janet has announced today that she will be embarking on her “largest world tour” ever in 2011 by visiting 35 cities in honor of the 35 number one singles that she has enjoyed in her storied music career:

In a video announcement that was just released by AOL Music, Janet talks about her tour plans to visit 35 cities nominated by her fans and explains that she will dedicate one of her #1 songs to each of the 35 cities. Additionally, she will honor 20 young people in each city she performs in for their work to better their communities. It really does sound like a fantastic world tour! After the jump, check out Janet‘s video announcement and hear the tour deets straight from Ms. Jackson herself …

Fabulous!! I’m not sure how intimate Janet can really get with her fans on such a large tour like this but one thing’s for sure, David and I will be there at least one of her 35 shows to see her perform LIVE on stage. Neither one of us have ever seen Janet on tour (we planned to see her last tour but it got canceled before we got the chance). I really love the idea of a Greatest Hits Concert Tour that will pay homage to her 35 #1 songs. This is great news … Janet‘s tour will DEFFO be one of the must see shows of 2011.

A Night With Billy Dee Williams

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 12:34 PM PST

Last night David and I met up for drinks with our friend Jordan who we haven’t seen in quite a few weeks. That boy is always so bizzy flying around the world that it’s really hard to pin him down to just one location for very long. We hooked up with him at Saint Felix in West Hollywood, CA for some drinks and conversation … and we got to share our time with the fabulous Billy Dee Williams:

Jordan then dragged us to a milkshake place so that we could indulge in horribly fattening yet absolutely delicious candy bar-filled milkshakes together. We kept it casual but fun … ’twas a nice night out on the town.

Tonight, I’ll be swinging by the movie theater to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and then later on tonight, I’ll be making my way to the Viper Room on the Sunset Strip to see American Hi-Fi LIVE in concert! It’s Friday, it’s the Weekend! I hope you have a great one!!

‘Glee’ Brings Xmas To Pasadena, CA

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 11:30 AM PST

Co-stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith were spotted yesterday on the Pasadena, CA set of Glee as they filmed scenes for the upcoming Xmas episode of the show … here are a couple photos from the Glee set:

The Glee Xmas album went on sale this past Tuesday perfectly timed with this week’s filming. It’s unclear if this year’s Xmas ep will be an over-the-top musicfest or if it will bring back that heart and soul of the show that made us all fall in love with Glee in the first place but one thing’s for sure, we won’t have to wait too long to find out. They may still be filming the ep this week but it will be ready to air in just a few weeks time. Xmas is getting here faster than I would like but in all honesty, I really am looking forward to the Glee Xmas episode this year … aren’t you?

Christina Aguilera Celebrates Her Birthday Early On ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 11:09 AM PST

Christina Aguilera will appear on today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and altho her 30th birthday is still a month away, Ellen decided to gift Xtina with an early birthday cake on today’s show. As you can see from the following promo photo, Xtina‘s birthday cake was full of half-nekkid man:

Just what a newly single woman wants for her birthday … a beefcake of her very own. In her interview with Ellen, Xtina talked about the whirlwind day last Tuesday when she got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame AND attended her first Hollywood premiere as well as her divorce from Jordan Bratman. After the jump, check out video of Xtina‘s interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today as well as video of her live performance of Something’s Got A Hold on Me from her new film Burlesque …

Yeah, I’m really not feeling the hair part she’s got going on. I get that Xtina is going for Hollywood glam but the shape her hair is not doing the shape of her head any favors. I’m not even going into the ridiculousness of having 5 Xmas trees in one house … IMHO, it just sounds like a gaudy mess. I am pretty impressed with her performance of Something’s Got A Hold on Me. She manages to give a classic Xtina performance without overdoing it … too much:

This song gets your toes tappin’ and fingers snappin’, don’t it? If today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show hasn’t aired yet you can watch Xtina on the show on yoru TV but these videos really show you all you need to see. Enjoy!

Will Tom Hardy Play Hugo Strange In ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’?

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 10:21 AM PST

Last month we learned the happy/exciting news that Inception actor Tom Hardy had been cast in an unknown role in the upcoming sequel film Batman: The Dark Knight Rises. When news of Hardy‘s casting first hit, it was speculated that he would be playing a villain … but NOT The Riddler (as director Christopher Nolan has revealed outright that The Riddler will NOT be featured in the next Batman film). Today we are hearing a new rumor that Hardy will play a bad guy in The Dark Knight Rises but it ain’t any villain that casual Batman fans might even know about. It is being reported that Tom Hardy will play classic and recurring Batman villain Hugo Strange:

Last month we learned Bronson and Inception star Tom Hardy was starring in The Dark Knight Rises, the third film in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. While most of us Bat fans were ecstatic to hear that Hardy had joined the cast, we were also left wondering (and speculating) about who the actor would play. Now Batman News is reporting a rumor (taken from a source who has proven to be reliable) that Hardy is actually playing the villain known as Hugo Strange. While fanboys know all about Strange, the average moviegoer may be wondering just who this character is … Hugo Strange has had a long and, well, strange history in the Batman comic books. He was one of Batman's first recurring villains (as far back as 1940), preceding more famous bat-foes like Catwoman or The Joker. Strange has appeared, been killed off, and since reappeared many times in the subsequent decades of Batman comics; his backstory has also undergone several revisions … The version of Strange you're most likely to see onscreen is the one where the character is a prominent (or celebrity) psychologist with mob ties. In the famous Batman storyline "Prey", Hugo Strange is tapped by the Gotham P.D. to work up a profile on the Batman, in order to help the police catch the vigilante. Strange is said to have been raised in "Hell's Crucible," a tough Gotham neighborhood not far from "Crime Alley," that infamous site where Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. While brilliant, Strange is also violent and unstable – in one version of his origin he was suspended from his tenure at Gotham State University for conducting bizarre experiments that transformed people into mindless, destructive (and deformed) brutes. Strange becomes increasingly obsessed with discovering who Batman is, and eventually with actually becoming Batman himself (which he eventually does, doing some terrible things in Batman's name). The twisted villain eventually deduces through his psyche examinations that Bruce Wayne is likely Batman, and uses that knowledge to turn the police against the vigilante and lure Batman to his doom … Hugo Strange is a time-tested Batman villain, and his various story archs have the added bonus of tying up a lot of the story that has been put forth by both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight – a goal we already know Nolan has firmly planted in mind. We … know that Chris and Jonathan Nolan, along with screenwriter David Goyer, have already established a trend of borrowing elements of famous Batman stories for their movies. I personally expect that trend to continue with The Dark Knight Rises, and as you can read above, a lot of the most fitting story archs for this third Batman film fall squarely under the Hugo Strange banner.

Without question, Batman‘s Gallery of Rogues is full of many bad guys that most people have never even heard of before. Much like Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins, Hugo Strange is one of those villains that has a long history with Batman but isn’t as well-known as other villains (like The Joker, Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, etc.). For me, this casting rumor makes a lot of sense … it’s clear that Nolan loves working with classic Batman villains that cater to comic book fans rather than pop culture acquaintances. Pairing Hugo Strange with Scarecrow makes perfect sense … as does casting Tom Hardy as Hugo Strange:

I’m not gonna lie … my heart really belongs to the iconic Batman villains better known amongst pop culture watchers … BUT, I fully trust Christopher Nolan‘s vision and I fully support his decision to showcase villains that might not be as well known among casual fans. I’m just really excited that Tom Hardy will be featured in such a high profile film. For me, he was one of the best things about Inception … I can’t wait to see what he will bring to the Batman film franchise mythos.

Any Hugo Strange fans out there? What do y’all think of this casting rumor news?

Britney Spears Reportedly Films A Music Video

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 09:49 AM PST

Now … take this bit of info with a huge grain of salt BUT … Britney Spears was reportedly spotted making her way to a music video shoot here in SoCal on Wednesday afternoon. We don’t know what the music video is for nor do we know *for sure* that it was a music video shoot at all … but the studio she rolled up on is one that is used to film music videos so … there you have it:

It is quite possible that Britney wasn’t filming a music video at all and was simply working on another video project (a commercial, an awards show video, etc.) but, then again, I suppose it’s also possible that she is secretly working on a music video for the first single off her new album which she *might* drop on us as a complete surprise in the coming weeks!!! Yes, it is highly unlikely that we’ll be hearing new music or seeing a video before the year is over but, then again, Xmas miracles do happen. Irregardless of whether or not she was filming a music video per se, it’s quite clear that our dear Britney is working hard on something. I cannot wait to find out what it is ;D

Cher Leaves Her Mark On Hollywood Blvd.

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 08:58 AM PST

On Tuesday we saw photos of Christina Aguilera getting her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but because the iconic Cher (who co-stars with Xtina in their new film Burlesque) already has a star on the Walk of Fame they had to go above and beyond to honor the legend. Cher was on hand yesterday to leave her hand and foot prints in the cement in front of the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theater … here are a few photos:

Cher made her mark in Hollywood history on Thursday by placing her hand and footprints in cement outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, as her new film “Burlesque” hits theaters next week. The music icon is returning to the big screen in a big way after a seven-year absense. She said she never intended to take such a long break from the movies. “There aren’t a lot of scripts that were right for me, there was one I wanted to do, ‘Mamma Mia,’ but I was working, so I couldn’t. This one just kind of worked its way into it,” said Cher. Cher shares a lot of her scenes with actor Stanley Tucci. They were the veteran cast members in a movie filled with newcomers like Christina Aguilera. “We were there just to do a good job, have a good time, but also to be supportive of someone like Christina who had never done a film before,” said Tucci. In one scene in the movie, Cher puts makeup on Christina. Cher said she wrote that part of the script. It’s a true story about her mom. Both Tucci and Cher said they’re similar to their on-screen characters in that they’re both nurturers in real life. “I have three children that I take care of since my wife passed away. That’s most of how I spend my time,” said Tucci. “I’m also, like the character in the movie. I’m used to having so many people around, much younger,” Cher said. “They look to you to give them the feeling of security, and I think that was the relationship I had with the girls in this film.” Cher will be one of among nearly 200 celebrities who have left their prints at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Cher now joins Hollywood legends like John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen, Darth Vader and more as the celebrities immortalized forever in cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. While it’s fairly easy for a celeb to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it’s a bit more of an exclusive matter to be asked to leave your hand/foot prints in the cement in front of Grauman’s. Cher is the perfect celebrity to be so honored. I’m still on the fence about seeing Burlesque, I gotta say. I’m not impressed by what I’ve seen thus far nor am I ever that impressed when Xtina over-excitedly wails her songs … but if anything is going to get me to pony up and pay to see this film, it’ll be Cher. Let’s send our love and congrats to Cher on this latest accomplishment … IMHO, it’s long overdue.

Lindsay Lohan Is Lookin’ To Move Into A New Home

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 08:25 AM PST

Lindsay Lohan may be enjoying her temporary new home at the Sober Living facility she is currently residing in in Rancho Mirage, CA but once L. Lo gets sprung from rehab, she is reportedly hoping to move back home … into an entirely new place. TMZ is reporting that Lindsay is getting a pass to leave rehab this weekend to go apartment/home shopping. Here are a couple new photos of Lindsay out on the town last night (lookin’ good, I must admit) and the deets about her reported house-shopping plans this weekend:

Lindsay Lohan is finally ready to make a change … when it comes to her living arrangements in Los Angeles. Sources tell TMZ Lindsay believes her current apartment in West Hollywood is too accessible to fans, friends and paparazzi — and she feels she needs a place that will afford her more privacy. In fact, we’re told Lindsay will be taking a short field trip from the Betty Ford clinic in Rancho Mirage this weekend and heading to L.A. — so she can shop around for the next Casa de Lohan. Our sources say Lindsay hasn’t decided yet if she wants an apartment or a house — but either way … change is good.

While I’m still not cool with all these day trips and night passes away from rehab, I do think it’s a very good and positive move forward that Lindsay is lookin’ to change her living situation. I imagine that her current West Hollywood, CA home is not only well-known to the bad influence people in her life but is also the site of a lot of bad behavior. A new home with a clean slate might really help her clean up her act. Tho, if she really isn’t learning her lessons in rehab and is only going thru the motions, no new home is going to save her life. Time and her actions will tell if she is truly making any progress. Let’s just hope that at the very least she is making some small positive changes in her life.

Tony Parker Opens Up About His Divorce From Eva Longoria

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 07:48 AM PST

On Wednesday, the very day that she filed for divorce from her husband Tony Parker, Eva Longoria spoke out in a short interview for the first time about her pending divorce. Today, we get to hear from Tony in an official statement of his own concerning his split from wifey Eva. According to Tony, he knew that the divorce was coming … and he denies that it was he who started divorce proceedings first:

“Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately. I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles. I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California. We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private.”

Short, terse and to the point. It makes sense that Tony would want to get an official statement of his own on the public record, just so he can chime in an have his say. It’s also very smart for him not to address the emotional cheating allegations at all … but his silence does make it seem like he is guilty. It is very clear that Eva is in the driver’s seat where this divorce is concerned and it sounds like Tony will just be going along for the ride. Now that he’s had his say, I think his best bet is to stay quiet, keep his head down and just ride out the storm to splitsville. I fully expect that we will be seeing Eva on magazine covers and hearing from her again about this divorce in coverstory interviews to come. My guess is that she will maximize the attention as best she can.
