George W. Bush Name Checks Kanye West In Memoir + Kanye Aims For Lanvin Deal & Headlines Macy's Parade

Posted: 03 Nov 2010 08:34 AM PDT

Few people get name checked in the memoirs of a former president, but Kanye West can put another feather in his cap.  Find out what George W. Bush says about him inside, plus get the deets on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and what plans Kanye may have with designer Lanvin in the fashion world.

In an interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, former President George W. Bush reveals that hearing statements made by Kanye West during a Hurricane Katrina telethon was one of his worst moments in the White House.

Remember when Kanye West said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people"?

To that, Dubya says:

"That [means], 'He's a racist,' And I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now. ... I resent it, it's not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency."

Matt Lauer had a gotcha moment asking the former president,

"You’re not saying that the worst moment in your presidency was watching the misery in Louisiana. You're saying it was when someone insulted you because of that."

Explaining his words, Dubya responded,

"No -- that -- and I also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply as well. There's a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a disgusting moment, pure and simple."

Hmm....smh.  That interview airs on "Today" show on Wednesday, November 10th.

And back to Kanye, he says he was heartbroken when Marc Jacobs and the folks over at Louis Vuitton ended their contract with him.

"I thank Marc Jacobs so much for giving me the opportunity to design a shoe for Louis Vuitton, but the thing that broke my heart most was when they said, 'You're finished. The shoe's finished."

But Kanye's fashion goals have not diminished.  He made a beeline for Lanvin's artistic director Alber Elbaz at Monday's Accessories Council ACE Awards. Dressed head to toe in Lanvin, Kanye walked in the back door and said, "take me to Alber." They then had a deep conversation about fashion. Recently honored as Stylemaker of the Year, maybe Kanye will have his wishes granted and will be designing for Lanvin.

Also, fans of Mr. West will see him joining Jessica Simpson and Gladys Knight as one of the headliners for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Hopefully he's on his best behavior.  Auntie Gladys don't play that ish...

Kim Zolciak's Ex "Big Poppa" May Be Going Broke

Posted: 03 Nov 2010 07:00 AM PDT

Well, no wonder she broke off the "engagement.  Seems like the married former boyfriend/sugar daddy of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star, Kim Zolciak, is having financial difficulties.  Find out more deets inside...

The tenants of a local mall in Union City, GA have been moving out all week as it seems their landlord is having trouble paying the bills. And their landlord is Kim Zolciak's ex, Lee Najjar.  Officials say Big Poppa hasn't paid the electricity bill in months.

As a result, Georgia Power turned off the electricity Tuesday night. One tenant said, "I'm more shocked than anything because I thought somebody would save us."  SMH.  You would think one of Lee's friends would bail him out. Or that it would be easy for him to get a bank loan.  Sources report that the mall also owes a quarter of a million dollars in property taxes for the past three years.

This shouldn't be a lot of money to an alleged multi-millionaire.  I wonder if he's intentionally not paying the bills because he has a bigger, better scheme in the works.  Something in the milk ain't clean.

More Details On Gucci Mane's Arrest!

Posted: 03 Nov 2010 05:42 AM PDT

Yesterday, we reported Gucci Mane's latest arrest.  But now the details are out about why he was pepper sprayed, hospitalized, and jailed in Atlanta yesterday.

Read on for the deets....

Apparently, Mr. Mane was fighting with someone when police finally got to him.  Gucci had driven extra crazy to this empty parking lot of a business--wrong side of the road, running stop lights, etc.  So in order to break up the fight, the police had to mace him.  According to WSBTV:

The 30-year-old rapper violated several traffic laws before parking at a business along the road, Davenport said. When police arrived at the business, Davis was arguing with someone, Davenport said. He said officers told the two to back away from each other, but Davis assaulted the other person. An officer then pepper sprayed the rapper, Davenport said.

Tragic.  Gucci's reportedly still in lock up at the Fulton County Jail being held on a $2500 bond.

Nicki Minaj's Photoshoot For YRB Magazine - She Says "Pink Friday" Album Is A Classic

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 05:30 PM PDT

Looks like all of Nicki Minaj's alter egos took a photoshoot in the clouds for her YRB Magazine photoshoot.  See more pics inside plus she talks about her fears, haters and triumphs.

Either Nicki Minaj, Roman Zolanski, or Onicka Tanya Maraj sat for an interview with YRB magazine that covered a wide range of feelings and admissions about her career, fears, those femcees who don't like her and why she says Pink Friday is a classic album.  When asked about her animated style and multiple rap personas, Nicki said it all stems from growing up with a dysfunctional family.

"I’m going to talk about my family and a little bit of dysfunction – or I should say, lots of dysfunction. And I’m just going to talk about me and self-searching and why I made the choices [I did]. Onika is not Nicki is not Roman. People will never be able to figure me out. I can tell you my whole life story from beginning to end, and then tomorrow, I’ll be just a different person."

It could be argued that Nicki's presence on the scene opens door for other femcees to break into the rap game; however, Nicki's taken a lot of criticism this year from women in the industry.  Most famously, Lil Kim, whom some fans consider to be the "original" barbie.

"These girls aren’t mad at me. They’re mad at themselves.  [It’s] jealousy, insecurity and being broke. When you haven’t capitalized and you see I’m about to capitalize on this sh*t like it’s never been done before, then you’re mad at yourself."

Ouch. Tell Kim how you really feel Nicki.  And though Nicki can be cocky when it comes to defending herself against haters, she was her own worst enemy when it came to her album.

In a shocking admission, she says she didn't want to record Pink Friday because she didn't believe in the crossover possibilities of her work.  She once said she thought her talents would be best appreciated as a "guest" artist.  "I was so afraid to put out an album for fear of failure. I wanted to put my album out on Valentine’s Day of 2011. And my label was like, are you f*cking crazy?”  It was actually her record company who pushed her into recording an album.

But once she appeared on the track "Monster" with rap heavyweights Jay-Z and Kanye West she said,

"That has to be the breakout Nicki Minaj moment. That was my moment. People paid attention because of who was on it and because I held my own and I stayed true to my crazy animation, and it’s like I didn’t have to take my fun stuff out. I was able to incorporate Nicki Minaj on a record with Jay-Z and Kanye West. And I think people know that’s a difficult task in itself."

Now Nicki is ready to not only drop her album but the cocky rapstress knows she is about to shut the game down saying, "I know that Pink Friday is a classic album. I have never been this proud of anything in my life I just think that it’s such a dynamic body of work. I’m no longer afraid to drop it. Now, I know it’s time."

BREAKING: Gucci Mane ARRESTED, PEPPER SPRAYED, & HOSPITALIZED!

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 03:24 PM PDT

Chiken Talkn 4ya Pictures, Images and Photos

Gucci Mane's foolery continues.  Just months after getting out of jail, and barely 1 month after he was forced into rehab after an intervention from his friends and fam, Gucci Mane was arrested again today.

The deets about the arrest and his current hospitalization when you read on...

Gucci was reportedly arrested today after a long list of foolish activities.  According to the Atlanta Police Department rep, Gucci has been charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, obstruction, no license, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges.

The police had to use pepper spray to subdue Gucci, and then he was sent to Grady Memorial Hospital.  He will be transferred soon back to Fulton County Jail.  WTF??

According to Access Atlanta, records show he has been in the Fulton County Jail at least five times since 2005 on drug, aggravated assault or aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges.

I'm at a loss for words at this point.  We have GOT to do better....

SPORTS FAB: Dwyane Wade Covers UPTOWN Magazine + First Open Transsexual Baller Plays in NCAA Basketball

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 02:44 PM PDT

NBA baller Dwyane Wade is on the cover of Uptown Magazine and talks about his divorce, his new superstar teammates, and more plus the first openly transsexual  basketball player in the NCAA when you read on...

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is the October/November cover of Uptown Magazine. I'm not too sure about this "scarf" though.

In the issue, which hit stands today, Wade opens up about his recent divorce, rebuilding his family life in Chicago, and his new teammates Lebron James and Chris Bosh

I can only image what he has to say about his divorce...

In other sports news, looks like some history is being made in the college sports world.  GWU's Kye Allums became the first openly transsexual basketball player to play Division 1 NCAA basketball. Allums was born a female but decided to identify herself as a male. Although the transition wasn't easy in the beginning, friends, family, and coaches began to accept Allums.

However, Allums is forgoing hormone therapy to continue playing on the women's team. NCAA rules state, "Transgender young people have the same right to participate and benefit from the positive aspects of athletics as other students do."

Allums is a junior guard on the women's team at George Washington University.  Your thoughts?

More Details About The Jacksons On "Oprah"+Mariah Carey's "Oh Santa" Video

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 01:53 PM PDT

Next week, Oprah Winfrey talks to the matriarch of the Jackson family about raising his children and Michael Jacksons' impact.   Find out what Katherine Jackson told Oprah and watch the official video for Mariah Carey's latest single, "Oh Santa" inside.

Airing on November 8, Oprah Winfrey sat down with Katherine Jackson at the family's home in Encino, Calif. In their interview, the soft-spoken mother reflects on the day Michael died and his life as a child star.  Oprah also talked to Michael's father Joe Jackson and his three children will also appear during a family moment taped for the show.

The interview provides a rare glimpse into the lives of  Prince, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8.  The children no longer wear the masks they once wore as little ones, and have enrolled in a "regular" school to meet other children.

The Jackson family is currently involved in a legal dispute with Jackson's estate, who have signed a $250 million deal with Sony to release a CD of new Michael Jackson material at the end of the year.

Katherine Jackson says that five of the songs on the album are by "an imposter," yet the estate is going to release the album anyway.  Michael recorded music in 2007 at the home of his friends the Cascios, who built a studio in their home for him.

A family insider said,

"I think the Cascios added what they wanted to Jackson's partially recorded tracks and took the material to Sony after he died. Michael left a lot of stuff behind and I think they are taking advantage of that."

The situation got messy with Sony hiring forensic audiologists to determine if it the vocals belong to Michael.  I hope Oprah gets to the bottom of this.  The fans don't want a fake Michael Jackson album.  He was our King Of Pop.
