Watch: Captain America & Red Skull Meet Face To Face In A New ‘First Avenger’ Trailer

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Earlier today we learned from Chris Evans himself that he is losing his hair … but, thankfully, he will be mostly hairy in this Summer’s superhero film Captain America: The First Avenger (due out in theaters on July 22). Today we get to see a new clip from The First Avenger that shows a scene where Cappy is brought face to face with his arch-nemesis Red Skull. Check out the trailer below before poor Chris Evans loses all of his hair.

This trailer features a lot of scenes that we’ve already seen … but I do love that Captain America is brought face to face with Red Skull. I’m excited for this film because I love Captain America so much … I just hope the film does the hero justice. I understand the feel of the film, set in the WWII era, will have have an Indiana Jones feel to it. That sounds great to me … we’ll just have to see if that formula works for The First Avenger.

The good guys, the bad guys … they’re all here! These posters are great, yes, but they are no distraction from the fact that Harry Potter will be TOTALLY over in just about a month’s time :( Love the posters … hate that they signal the end of such an amazingly fantastic film franchise :(

Shania Twain Announces A 2-Year Concert Residency In Las Vegas

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Earlier this week, Shania Twain announced that she was planning to hold a press conference today to make a HUGE announcement … and now we know what that announcement is. Shania will be headlining her own show in Las Vegas, NV for 2 years! Taking a page from the Céline Dion playbook, Shania will have her own show at Caesar’s Palace called Still the One. Read below for all the exciting deets about Shania‘s new concert venture.

Canadian superstar Shania Twain will have a two-year performance run at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas starting on Dec. 1, 2012. The Windsor-born country pop singer announced her new headline show, called Still the One, using a video montage streamed live on her website Wednesday afternoon. Following in the footsteps of music icons Céline Dion and Elton John, Twain will perform 60 shows per year. "I'm beyond excited. I feel like I'm on the top of the world," said Twain at a news conference in Nashville after the announcement. "I feel like I've climbed a very giant mountain and I'm standing right on top." Twain is in Nashville to be a presenter at the CMT Music Awards. "I feel I am about to step into a world of endless creative possibilities," she said. "This is a dream for any performing artist." Twain was in Toronto last month signing copies of her new memoir, From This Moment On. In the new book, she explained how her ex-husband's infidelity left her devastated and temporarily unable to sing in front of an audience. "I've gotten to the bottom of it and I'm addressing it," said Twain, about her singing problems. "Sharing it with the public has been a very big part of addressing it. I'm singing more … I know I can do it." American Express presale tickets will be available tonight as Twain takes the stage at the CMT Music Awards. Tickets will go on sale June 19.

OMG … I LOVE THIS! I saw Shania Twain in concert back in Detroit and it was such a fun show … I’ve been dying to see her perform live again ever since. If Shania is planning a 2 year concert residency, it stands to reason that she might have a new album of songs to perform. Whatever the case may be, this is great news. Click HERE to get your tickets to see Shania Twain in concert in Las Vegas. Are any of y’all planning to go?

Watch: Darth Vader Pays A Visit To Disneyland

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 02:30 PM PDT

On Monday David and I went to Disneyland to celebrate our dear friend Ollie’s birthday but it looks like we weren’t the only ones to enjoy a fun day at Disney this week. Darth Vader, with a pair of storm troopers by his side, paid a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth to check out the new Star Wars Star Tours ride … but before he rode Star Tours, he did a few other fun things at the park. Check out the video below to see how Darth Vader‘s day at Disneyland went down.

This has to be THE cutest video ever. See, I knew that Darth Vader wasn’t a total bad guy … no one evil can look like they are having that much fun on the Dumbo ride :) Unfortch for us, we didn’t get a chance to ride the Star Tours ride … but Darth gets what Darth wants. Is this video not amazing? Love it!!

Chris Evans Reveals That He Is Losing His Hair

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 01:30 PM PDT

Hottie actor Chris Evans, who can be seen this Summer in the Marvel Comics superhero film Captain America: The First Avenger, has admitted in a new interview that he is losing his hair. That’s right … Evans unashamedly revealed to E! News that he fears for the future of the Captain America film franchise because the hero can’t be bald … and Evans is, apparently, losing his hair! Say it ain’t so! Read on to hear what Chris has to say about his balding problem.

Chris Evans has made a shocking confession when attending this year’s MTV Movie Awards last Sunday, June 5. The actor, who buffed up his body for “Captain America: The First Avenger”, confessed in an interview with E! News that he is going bald. “I have no problem saying this, but I’m losing my hair,” he said. Having signed up for three “Captain America” films and three “The Avengers” movies, the 29-year-old admitted he worries about his future as the superhero. “The fear is this [role] can span 10 years so I can be doing this character until I’m 40,” he shared. “I’m supposed to be like this superior human. He can’t be balding…How horrible would it be if this superior man has male pattern baldness?” While fretting about his thinning hairline, the “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” actor is confident about maintaining his bulky physique through daily exercise. “That I can control,” he said with a smile on his face. “It’s a lot more than I’d like it to be, but you know, if I miss three or four days, I feel like shit.” He went on to reveal that he scrapped running from his workout, explaining “I’ll get too thin. I lose weight so quickly.”

Aww … poor Chrissy. You know, I will say this for the man … if anyone can make balding look hot, it’ll be Chris Evans. Besides, Chris may be losing hair on top but if all of those shirtless photos are any indication, he will still have plenty of hair on the rest of his body to keep his hotness level high. To be honest, I never noticed before but now that Chris has brought it up … I guess I can see how his hairline has been receding for the past few years. Still, bald or not, I think he’ll be just fine. That being said, I guess the Captain America in future films will be forced to wear a toupee?

Death Cab For Cutie Rocks The El Rey Theatre

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 12:56 PM PDT

Last night I made my way out to the El Rey Theatre here in LA, CA to see Death Cab for Cutie live in concert. My ex-bf Erik is a huge emo/hipster and it was his influence that got me into Death Cab/Postal Service/etc. We never got to see the band in concert when we were together so last night was my first DCFC show. I am happy to report that the show was really fantastic.

The show was a solid 2 hours long and the setlist was packed with classic songs paired with new offerings from their new album Codes and Keys. As I understand it, this leg of the Death Cab tour is strictly for fans … tickets were sold via Will Call only so that scalpers could not get their hands on the tix. I really enjoyed the show from start to finish. The band played all of my fave songs and made the new songs sound fresh and exciting. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you see DCFC on this tour. Trust me, they put on a great show.

Tonight, David and I will be attending the Hollywood premiere of Super 8. We are both very excited and are very much looking forward to seeing the film in full. Wee!

Watch: A 6-Minute Clip From ‘Super 8′ Hits The Internets

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 11:39 AM PDT

The new JJ Abrams film Super 8 won’t open in theaters until Friday (or, if you’re lucky tomorrow) but today we get to check out an extended 6-minute clip from the film. It looks like this clip is from early on in the film … right before the incident takes place. If you don’t know what “the incident” is, that is good … that means the movie hasn’t been spoiled for you. If you’re curious and you want an early look at Super 8, check out the video below.

I love this clip because it’s not very spoilery and it does give the viewer a great taste of the look and feel of the movie. David and I have been invited to the Hollywood premiere of Super 8 which is taking place tonight so I’m REALLY excited to see this film. If you are too, make sure you find out HERE how YOU may get to see Super 8 in theaters tomorrow … or, make sure you check out the film this weekend. I’m really curious to see how this movie turns out … there’s been so much buzz for so long. But at last, the time for waiting is over!

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Is Up For A Role In ‘G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes’

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 11:18 AM PDT

Plans are coming together for the sequel film to 2009′s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as today we learn that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is up for a role in the sequel. According to reports, Johnson will likely play the Roadblock character in the upcoming sequel film titled G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. While I am THRILLED that a new live-action G.I. Joe film is in the works, I can’t say that I’m the biggest fan of The Rock. Read on for all the known casting deets below.

Dwayne Johnson is reportedly in talks to appear in “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes,” the franchise’s sequel in which the former pro wrestler known as the Rock would play a machine gun-toting “big guy.” Johnson could take on the role of Roadblock, Variety reported, a brawny and imidating soldier who actually aspires to be a chef and is, as described by the G.I. Joe wiki, one of “most amiable members of the Joe Team and a great source of camaraderie.” The franchise may undergo an overhaul, however, in the wake of a $175-million budget that seriously outweighed the box office success of its 2009 predecessor, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” which starred Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid. Tatum, however, should be coming back in the Paramount sequel, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will probably be directed by John Chu, who also helmed “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.”

I am one of the folks that really enjoyed the first G.I. Joe film. Altho it wasn’t Academy Award-winning fare, I found it highly entertaining and thought they did a great job of bringing those classic cartoon characters to life. Even tho I’m not a big fan of The Rock, I am excited for a new movie … and yes, I think he can do a fine job playing Roadblock. Any G.I. Joe fans in the hiz? This is great news about a sequel, ain’t it?

Watch: ‘The Voice’ Judges Perform Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 10:26 AM PDT

Last night, the judges on NBC‘s singing competition show The Voice, performed a cover of the Queen classic song We Are The Champions to show the contestants how it’s done. Adam Levine was joined by Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and finally Christina Aguilera for the performance which was, IMHO, fun if not spectacular. There were deffo highlights of the performance and some performers sang better than others but overall, it was a great treat to watch. Check out video of The Voice version of We Are The Champions below.

Click HERE to watch the performance on You Tube if the embed above doesn’t work for you. By far, the best singer of the bunch is Xtina Aguilera. Despite the fact that she unbelievably thought it would be a good idea to wear those horribly unflattering shorts on national TV, the girl can sing and sing well. Adam Levine does a great falsetto so I think he is my second fave performer of this bunch. Cee Lo was just alright … Blake, notsomuch. But this is just my opinion … what do y’all think? Are you impressed by this performance? Did these Voice judges do this Queen classic justice?

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 09:59 AM PDT

Dr. Funkenberry, the go-to blog for all official Prince information, has been updated with a special thank you message from Prince and the New Power Generation to all of the people who came out in support of his legendary 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency. I am still trying to acclimate myself to the fact that Prince‘s 21 Nite Stand concert residency is over … I had gotten so used to spending my weekends rocking out at Prince shows that I’m deffo feeling the pangs of loss now that the run is over. As lovely as it is that Prince wants to thank us for coming out to see him, I want to thank him — again — for blessing SoCal with this string of amazing concerts. Make sure you read Dr. Funkenberry‘s blog HERE and/or follow him on Twitter HERE to keep up to date with all the must-know Prince info. Watch: David Tennant Finally Shows Up In A New ‘Fright Night’ Video Trailer

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 09:14 AM PDT

Last month we got to see the first video trailer for the upcoming remake of the horror/comedy 80′s classic film Fright Night, which stars Colin Farrell, David Tennant and Anton Yelchin. The only problem is that that trailer didn’t feature David Tennant at all. Today we get to check out the second trailer released for the film and, thankfully, we’ve got Tennant. Check out the clip below.

OK … now this trailer, I like. I’m still a bit on the fence about this remake but it does look like it has the potential to be fun. I’m worried about Colin Farrell as the vampire but I’m thinking David Tennant is going to elevate this film to greatness (or, at the very least, he will elevate the film to unsuckness). I’m encouraged and hopeful … Fright Night might actually turn out to be a sleeper hit.

Dakota Fanning Graduates!

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 08:38 AM PDT

Dakota Fanning, the young actress who has already starred in about a million movies, has finally achieved a new benchmark in her young life. Last night, Dakota graduated from high school! That’s right, in between her years as a movie star, Dakota has been working hard to get her high school diploma and this week reached the culmination of all of her hard work. Check out some photos below from Dakota‘s Class of 2011 graduation ceremony at the Walt Disney Concert Hall here in LA, CA below.

She’s starred in dozens of movies, including the hit Twilight saga. But when not walking the red carpet at premières Dakota Fanning has been kept busy with a rather less glamorous task – completing her education. Last night she swapped the showbiz world of Hollywood for the altogether more down-to-earth location of her high school graduation. Dakota, 17, looked as proud as any Oscar winner as she joined her peers at the ceremony, held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Dressed in her blue gown and mortar hat, the smiling blonde posed alongside her classmates. Her 13-year-old sister Elle, star of the upcoming Super 8, was there to watch as Dakota received her diploma. The pair were joined by their parents Steve, an electronics salesman, and Joy, along various other relatives.

Aww … how cute is this? You may recall that last November we learned that Dakota was voted Homecoming Queen so I guess we’ve been following her Senior year of high school kinda closely. Let’s send Miss Fanning all of our love and congrats on her latest accomplishment. I suspect that Dakota will follow in other young celeb trailblazers (like Natalie Portman, for example) and will next make her way to college. It’s crazy to think that Dakota is only now graduation high school. I guess she’s been in the biz for so long, starting out at a very young age, that it just seems like she is older than she really is. Congrats, Dakota! Well done!!

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 08:07 AM PDT

Yesterday we learned that Entertainment Tonight is planning to air tonight an interview feature on Britney Spears filmed during super top secret tour rehearsals for her upcoming Femme Fatale Tour. Right now, we get to check out a portion of her interview with ET wherein she talks about getting ready to hit the road and she reveals some of things she will be bringing on the road with her. Check out the clip below.

I’m guessing that ET will be airing portions from this interview over a few nights starting tonight so there should be a lot more to come from this new interview with Britney. You will note that this video shows that she is rehearsing Up N’ Down and Drop Dead (Beautiful) so I think it’s safe to assume we can look forward to those numbers being performed on tour. This is a cute clip. I can’t wait to see more! Tune in to Entertainment Tonight to see more footage from their exclusive visit with Britney during her Femme Fatale Tour rehearsals :D
