‘Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation’ Releases A New Promo Image

Back in February we got our first look at the animated short film Toy Story: Hawaiian Vacation, which will show exclusively ahead of Cars 2 (opening in theaters today). Today we get to check out another promo image for the short along with a synopsis of what Hawaiian Vacation will be all about. Set in new owner Bonnie's bedroom, "Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation" features Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) and Buzz (voice of Tim Allen) and the rest of the favorite "Toy Story 3" toys as they create the ultimate Hawaiian vacation for Ken (voice of Michael Keaton) and Barbie (voice of Jodi Benson). It seems Ken badly miscalculated their travel arrangements, so the gang has to create a dream getaway in Bonnie's Midwestern bedroom—in the middle of winter. "Hawaiian Vacation" also features the voices of Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Blake Clark, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton, Kristen Schaal, Jeff Garlin and John Ratzenberger. "Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation" appears exclusively with CARS 2 in theaters everywhere on June 24th.

I’m not gonna lie … I have ZERO interest in seeing Cars 2, to be honest. With all of the bad reviews going around, my guess is that I am not alone in my disinterest in the film. That said, I really want to see Woody and the gang in this new Toy Story short film. I really LOVED the new toys that live in Bonnie‘s room from Toy Story 3 so, yeah, I’m itching to see this short. I’m hoping someone will tell me Cars 2 is worth seeing … otherwise … I may have to sneak in a theater ;)

Watch: ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Releases A New Poster & Trailer

Earlier this month we got to meet the villainous Red Skull in the latest trailer for the Summer superhero film Captain America: The First Avenger. Today we not only get to check out a newer trailer but we also get to see the latest promo poster for the film. This trailer shows us a bit more of Steve Rogers before he becomes Captain America … back when he was a Hobbit, apparently.


As I understand it, the movie studio is planning to play down the Americanness of Captain America: The First Avenger as much as they can to as not to turn off foreign audiences outside the US (going so far as to change the title abroad to merely The First Avenger, cutting Captain America out of the title altogether) but this trailer seems to be highllighting the Americanness … especially with the tagline, Heroes are Made in America. Watch the trailer below and see for yourselves:


This is a great trailer, maybe my fave of the ones released thus far. While I’m still concerned that the movie may not live up to my expectations, I am very much looking forward to seeing it when it is released on July 22. I’d love to see Chris Evans succeed with this film. What do y’all think of this trailer? Does it make you want to see this film?

On Sunday we saw AMAZINGLY hot photos of True Blood star Joe Manganiello on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine. On Tuesday we saw photos of Manganiello lookin’ all hot and half nekkid inside the pages of GQ magazine. Today we get to see video of Joey Man in action for Details magazine. Click below to watch Joe do the “werewolf workout” that helps him get into such fine physical shape.


Lord have MERCY on my soul. This man is just too hot for words. I think I could watch him workout all day long … in fact, I think I’ll just rewatch this video over and over and over and over again ;)

First Look: The First Official Photos From ‘The Hobbit’ Are Released

Back in February we got our first unofficial look at the set of The Hobbit, the prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy that is currently in production in Miramar, NZ. In March we got to see the first official photos from the set, of director Peter Jackson chillin’ in Bilbo Baggins‘s home. Today, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly magazine, we get to check out 3 new photos from The Hobbit that feature two of the story’s most important characters … Bilbo Baggins, The Hobbit himself and his wizard friend Gandalf the Grey.

We’ll all have to wait until Dec. 14, 2012, for the full fruits of director Peter Jackson’s labors on his two-part adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Hobbit. But, to tide us over, Jackson has shared the first images from his Lord of the Rings prequels with EW — and talked to us about how the fantasy epic is shaping up so far.

MARTIN FREEMAN (BILBO BAGGINS)
”He fits the ears, and he’s got some very nice feet,” Jackson says of his Bilbo. ”I think he’s got the biggest hobbit feet we’ve had so far. They’re a little bit hard to walk in, but he’s managed to figure out the perfect hobbit gait.”

IAN MCKELLEN (GANDALF)
”He’s in fantastic form,” Peter Jackson says of McKellen. ”In a way, his role in The Hobbit has more technical difficulties than Lord of the Rings did, because he has scenes with 14 smaller characters — obviously the dwarves and the hobbit are shorter… I remember saying to him [laughs], ”Look, this isn’t Waiting for Godot or King Lear. This is The Hobbit. This is the real thing.”

”There’s no way you can pace yourself for shoots like these,” Jackson says. ”When we were going through the schedule for The Hobbit, I felt a terrible drop in my stomach when I saw that we’d be shooting for 254 days. We’re only 12 days short of The Lord of the Rings even though we’re only doing two movies. When I saw that, I had to sort of pick myself up off the floor and carry on.”

Damn … I honestly never really realized how much I’ve missed the Lord of the Rings films. Seeing these photos and reading about The Hobbit production has got me all excited for a return to Middle Earth. I’m also really glad to know that The Hobbit will be turned into 2 films … it feels like that is the new trend in Hollywood these days. The 3D fad has lost its luster so now the new thing to do is to turn books into 2 movies. Altho it feels like kind of a cheap way to make more money from a project, it does afford the director the chance to stay more true to the original source material. 2 movies means more of the source material will make it to screen. This is a great first look at The Hobbit. I can’t wait to see more ;)

Prince William & Kate Middleton Release An Official Photo For Their Upcoming Canadian Visit

Last month we learned that newlyweds Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and his new wife Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, are planning a visit to North America this month and today we get to check out the official portrait of the couple released ahead of their arrival in Canada next week. Because the royals’ visit to Canada will be an official one, I suppose there was need for an official portrait to coincide with their visit.

With their itinerary set and just a week to go, Prince William and Duchess Catherine look ready to kick off their North American tour. In a new official portrait of the couple taken earlier this month in the gardens of Clarence House for their Canadian tour, Kate and William, both 29, are all smiles in matching navy blue attire (she previously sported this look at the couple’s final pre-wedding public appearance in Lancashire, England). So what’s in store for the royal pair when they touch down in Canada June 30? The couple will dive right into their royal duties, and they’ll take part in a wreath laying and book-signing event at the Ottawa National War Memorial at 2:35 p.m. In the spirit of Canada Day, July 1, the newlyweds will celebrate with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his family at Ottawa’s Parliament Hill. They’ll also stop by Montreal, Quebec City, Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I., Yellowknife and Calgary throughout their trip. Perhaps the highlight of their trip will be July 4, when William and his wife will face off in a dragonboat race on Prince Edward island. William and the duchess are set to arrive in California on July 8 for the American leg of their voyage.

I don’t expect that an official portrait of the couple will be released for the US leg of their visit but I think this photo is nice enough for the entire trip. It’ll be very exciting for the Canadians, I’m sure, to have the newlywedded royals visiting their country. I know there are a great many Americans who are excited for their arrival next month. They make such a damn fine-looking couple, don’t they? I love this portrait. Do you?

Nikka Costa Rocks The Roxy Like ‘Whoa’

Last night I met up with my friend Tony at The Roxy on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA to see Nikka Costa in concert. After seeing her perform recently with Prince during his 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency, I was really anxious to see her perform her own concert. This week, she released a new EP titled Pro*Whoa and to celebrate, she performed an amazing concert at The Roxy last night.



Nikka is an electric performer … her voice is fire, her moves are sex and her love for her fans is plainly obvious. I first saw Nikka Costa in concert back in 2001 when I was still living in Detroit. She was a fantastic performer back then but she is an amazing performer today. The woman can bring the funk like nobody’s business … Tony and I had a great time:


Tonight, I head South to Anaheim, CA to see our dear Britney Spears LIVE in concert again. Seeing her last Monday just wasn’t enough, so I’m going down to the Honda Center to see the show again! Woot!! Happy Friday, y’all!!

Jennifer Aniston Brings Justin Theroux To Her Taping Of ‘Inside The Actors Studio’

Earlier this week we saw photos of rumored lovebirds Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux all snuggled up in a seeming attempt to show the world that they are SO in LURVE. Today we learn that that seeming show of affection was just a precursor to a more public display of affection. Jennifer taped an episode of Inside the Actors Studio and she brought along Justin with her to the taping … sitting him front row center. I suppose it’s possible that he was just there to lend moral support as a friend but … I don’t think so. I think Justifer are doing everything they can to admit that they are together without actually admitting that they are, indeed, together.

Things are heating up: First it was double dates. Then public displays of affection. Now, Jennifer Aniston is mixing business with pleasure by bringing new beau Justin Theroux to her interview with James Lipton for Inside the Actors Studio. Theroux, 39, “was sitting in the front row, and she made eye contact with him,” second-year Actors Studio MFA student Christina Schudel told PEOPLE at Thursday’s New York taping with Aniston, 42. The interview will air next month on Bravo. “Whenever there would be a lull, she would just look at him and give him a wink and go back to what she was doing,” says Schudel. Aniston was also clearly a hit with the crowd – which roared with laughter after Lipton asked what drew the actress to the 2006 movie The Break-Up. Replied Aniston: “Well, you know it’s something I have a lot of experience with.” “She was just so relaxed and so open,” observed Schudel. “So lovable from beginning to end. Such a sweetheart.”

Jennifer‘s episode of Actors Studio won’t air on Bravo until July but here are a few preview questions and answers that will be featured on the show:

What turns you on? “Generally or currently?” she said with a laugh as she placed her face in her hands and shook her head. “A great pair of shoes” – prompting Theroux to laugh and applaud.

What turns you off? “Flats.”

What’s your favorite word? “Norman,” said a slightly teary Aniston, referring to her 15-year-old Welsh corgi-terrier mix, who died in May.

What’s your least favorite? “Stupid.”

What sound or noise do you love? “A baby hysterically laughing.”

What sound do you hate? “Car alarms.”

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? “Attempt is a good word … interior design.”

What profession would you not like to have? “Be the President.”

If heaven existed, what would you like to hear God say to you at the Pearly Gates? “Never thought I’d see you here.”

This sounds like a cute interview … I can’t wait to check it out in full. As for Jen bringing Justin to the taping, I mean … yeah, they are so together. Jen hasn’t been this public with a guy since she confirmed she was dating John Mayer a couple of years ago. I really like Justin for Jen, they make a cute couple I think. I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of these two out and about in public together. I can’t wait to see Justin sitting in the front row when Jen‘s ep of Inside the Actors Studio airs next month ;)

Is MTV Planning To Replace The Entire Cast Of ‘Jersey Shore’?

A new report out today claims that MTV is planning to hire an entirely new cast of people to star in their hit reality TV series Jersey Shore once the upcoming 5th season of the show finishes taping. On the contrary, another report claims that MTV is planning to do so such thing. In just a few short weeks, the 4th season of Jersey Shore — which was filmed entirely in Florence, Italy — will air on MTV and the 5th season of the series will begin filming in New Jersey next week … so new cast or not, there is still a lot of Snooki, JWoww and The Situation to come.

Say goodbye to Seaside, Snooki! Jersey Shore producers plan to recast the MTV hit, an insider tells the new issue of Us Weekly (out now). “After this group comes back from Italy and shoots season 5 this summer, that will be the end for them.” The new stars will be “a lot cheaper” (the housemates each reportedly make $100,000 per episode), plus the current gang can feel free to pursue other endeavors. Says the source, “They will leave on a high note!” After all, three of the show’s original cast members — Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “J-Woww” Farley and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio — have already signed up for spinoffs.

Not so fast, says The Hollywood Reporter … according to them, MTV is not planning to recast the show:

MTV is denying multiple online reports that they will re-cast Jersey Shore. “We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show,” a net spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter. Both UsMagazine.com and TMZ.com have sources saying that Snooki, The Situation and crew cost MTV too much — at a reported $100,000 an episode — and will get the boot after season 5 wraps in Italy. They are already due to begin filming the next season in New Jersey right after Italy … Chris Linn, MTV’s executive vice president of programming and head of production, told THR earlier this year that he doesn’t think the [spinoff] shows will dilute the popular franchise. “I have to say, again, they feel very different from Jersey Shore and each of these cast members has so much more depth and different sides and layers to them than you see on Jersey Shore,” he said. “I think it allows us to expand out from the base of Jersey Shore without taking away from what Jersey Shore is. They would continue to be involved in any potential future cycles of Jersey Shore. That's really a different experience because they're on vacation and it's a group dynamic.

The curious wording of the MTV statement seems suspicious to me … they “currently have no plans” to recast the show … but that doesn’t meant that they won’t have plans to recast the show once the upcoming 5th season is filmed. I honestly thought that MTV was going to cycle out this cast last year but they seem really attached to this group of characters. IMHO, a fresh new cast sounds very appealing … but it could go either way. What do y’all think? Do you want MTV to stick with the original JS cast or are you ready for a new batch of guidos and guidettes to take center stage?

Watch: A Short Clip From The Failed ‘Wonder Woman’ Pilot Hits The Internets

Late last month we got to see some screencaps from the failed NBC pilot of the new Wonder Woman TV series, written by David E. Kelley and starring Adrienne Palicki, and today we get to watch some video footage from the pilot. Unfortch, the clip that has made its way to the Internets is only about 30 seconds long … but it does show us Wonder Woman in action in her classic tiny hot pants (as opposed to the terrible blue leggings). “Wonder Woman” may never see the light of the day, yet another sneak peek from the canceled pilot has come out. In the 30-second snippet, superhero fans can catch a glimpse of the titular character in short shorts while she is ready to fight some bad guys. The hot pants were previously reported as part of three costumes which were going to be used on the reboot project. Back in April before NBC axed the project, the network’s president Robert Greenblatt revealed the shorts “are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale.” Set to portray the superheroine was Adrianne Palicki, with Elizabeth Hurley being cast as villainous Cale. NBC, however, decided not to pick up the show after the pilot reportedly earned mixed reviews at test screenings.

While the clip doesn’t really show us much of Wonder Woman, we do get to see how fantastic she looks in the classic WW costume rather than the horrid new one they came up with for the show. As I said before, I think I’m actually relieved that this new WW series isn’t going to air on TV but I am SO curious to see how the pilot turned out. It must be really, really bad if NBC decided not to air it … but even still, I’m dying to see how Kelley‘s new vision of Wonder Woman turned out. It’s hard to judge the pilot based on this short clip but … my guess is that the full WW pilot is cheesetastic.

The Cast Of ‘True Blood’ Goes ‘American Gothic’ For ‘Entertainment Weekly’ Magazine

We are just 2 days away from the season 4 premiere of True Blood on HBO and to celebrate, Entertainment Weekly magazine has the principal cast of the show on the cover of this week’s issue. The cast aren’t featured on just one cover, there are 3 collectible True Blood covers for this week’s issue of EW magazine. The covers are themed on the famous American Gothic painting by Grant Wood. Playing the smoking hot vampire Eric Northman is humbling, to say the least, for Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard. So to say that he's used to the adoration from female fans of True Blood, the subject of this week's Entertainment Weekly cover story, would be a bit of an understatement … "I'll never get used to that," Skarsgard said of his googly-eyed fanbase. "It's just very, very humbling and flattering. The character Eric means so much to me and I'm having so much fun playing him. Of course it means a lot when you meet fans and you can actually tell there are people out there who really do care about the character. It means something to you, then. That's kind of why you do this whole thing." Eric fans could have plenty to salivate over this season, which begins June 26 on HBO. This year, True Blood is inspired by book four of the Stackhouse series, Dead to the World, which features a steamy shower scene between Sookie and the tall, light and handsome vamp. Unfortunately, Skargard isn't in the mood to kiss and tell. He will say, however, that sex this year is, um, a little more down to earth. "I did some crazy stuff last year. I almost had sex with a Greek man and I was covered in his goo. Everything from here on is pretty childish. Everything's quite innocent."

Firstly, these EW covers are brilliant. I love the idea of posing the cast in the famed American Gothic pose for the covers … very cool. I love that all 3 of the leading men are featured on their own covers. I think they could’ve done something a bit different with Anna Paquin but all in all, this is a fun way to promote the show’s return. As for the season 4 premiere this weekend, I’m very much looking forward to going back to the drama in Bon Temps, LA. I’m curious to see how the new witchy characters will interact with the already established cast of supernatural creatures. True Blood always bring the cheeky entertainment … I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the coming season.

‘Jilted Groom’ Hugh Hefner Has A New ‘Best Girl’

Early last week we learned that the planned wedding of 85-year old Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner and 24-year old Playboy Playmate Crystal Harris was called off after Harris decided she didn’t want to marry into Hef‘s Playboy lifestyle. Since the wedding was called off and Crystal moved out of the Playboy Mansion, Hefner called for reinforcements and had a pair of twin ex-girlfriends come home to the mansion to help him get over his broken heart. But, apparently, those young twins just aren’t enough to satisfy Hefner. Hugh announced on Twitter that he has a new “best girl” in his life, a young blonde woman named Anna Sophia Berglund … who not only happens to be one of Crystal Harris‘s BFFs but has been approved by Crystal herself to take her place in Hef‘s life. With all this partner juggling, it’s no wonder these people can’t get it together enough to get thru a single wedding.

Well, that was fast. A week after Crystal Harris became his fiancée-turned-runaway bride, Hugh Hefner seems to be wasting no time mending his broken heart. Meet Anna Sophia Berglund: the Playboy founder’s latest lady. “With Crystal gone, Anna is my best girl,” Hefner, 85, Tweeted. “Anna is really one in a million.”

Crystal Harris seems totally fine that Anna Sophia is Hef‘s new “best girl” because she tweeted her approval that the pair have coupled up. It seems silly that anyone would feel sadness or empathy for either Hefner or Harris in the wake of their split … it’s clear that neither one of them were serious about getting married. IMHO, they should both stay single and just carry on as usual. With the revolving turnstile at the Playboy Mansion, why would Hefner ever need to “settle down” with just one Playmate?
