Brangelina Take The Kids To A Water Park In Malta

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Brad Pitt, who is currently in Malta filming a new movie called World War Z, took some time away from his bizzy production schedule to sneak off to a water park to spend the day with his children and babymama Angelina Jolie. Ange got all decked out in a form-fitting wet suit while Brad opted out and decided to go bare chested. Sounds like a day of family fun for the Brangelina Bunch.

Even tho only Knox Léon is photographed here, I understand that the other Brangelina kids were at the water park as well. It’s crazy to me how Brad and Angelina can work so hard on their careers and still have the time (and energy) to do fun stuff like this with the kiddies. Even in Malta, Brangelina makes sure their kids come first. LOVE!

Prince Rocks The 2011 Montreal Jazz Festival

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 04:30 PM PDT

In May, Prince played a string of concerts here in LA during his 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency as part of his Welcome 2 America Tour. This weekend, Prince made his way North to Montreal Canada to play the first of two shows at the Montreal Jazz Festival. As expected, Prince did not disappoint … taking the stage promptly at 11:30 PM and playing for 4 solid hours!

“I don’t know what you heard!” Prince called to the late-night crowd, deep into the funk groove of the opening song in the first of two sold-out shows at Metropolis on Friday. “I don’t know what you heard! But we’re here to get funky!” That’s an understatement. The band had started at 11: 30 p.m. on the nose, as advertised. They didn’t stop (six or seven encores excepted) for the next four hours. Prince’s last performance at the Jazz Festival was a nudge-wink practical joke in which he spent the first half in jazz-fusion mode and the second half raising the roof with an arsenal of hits. This one – which kicked off the fest’s 32nd edition in grand style – was all about the boogie. From beginning to end, through an era-spanning array of covers and originals, he brought the party in no uncertain terms (and left fans screaming for more). For an artist who has sworn off the record industry and railed against the Internet, that’s called putting your money where your mouth is. It’s also called giving people their money’s worth – all $150 of it.

Dang. I miss these kinds of Prince concerts. Yes, I know I sound like a spoiled brat, considering that I got to attend 14 of the 21 shows Prince did here in LA … but that’s what Prince does … he spoils you! It really does sound like he put on one hell of a show for the folks in Montreal. From there, he will be making his way to Europe to play other festivals this Summer so … take my advice … if Prince is playing a show near you, you better go. His shows are absolutely amazing!

Tom Hardy Promotes ‘Warrior’ In Paris, France

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 02:30 PM PDT

A couple of weeks ago we got our first look at the official promo poster for the new Tom Hardy film Warrior. Today we get to see photos of a very beefy and bald Hardy promoting the film at a photocall event in Paris, France earlier today. Apparently, Tom took some time away from his bizzy filming schedule for Batman: The Dark Knight Rises to do this promo work for Warrior … but while he was promoting Warrior he was lookin’ a lot like his Batman villain character Bane.

Wow … he is a big boy, ain’t he? It’s clear that he has beefed up considerably for the role of Bane. I gotta say, tho, that I’m not crazy about the shaved head. I get that he’s supposed to look like a villainous thug but I don’t really love the look on him in real life. I am really looking forward to seeing him in the role of Bane in the new Batman film tho … but, before that, seeing him in Warrior.

Watch: Pixar Releases A First Trailer For Their Next Animated Film ‘Brave’

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 01:30 PM PDT

In March we got our first tease of Pixar Animation‘s first female protagonist Princess Merida, the star of their next animated film Brave. In May we got our first good look at her when Disney/Pixar released the first official promo photos. Today we get to see Merida in action in the first trailer released for Brave, which is due out in theaters next Summer. Click below to watch the trailer in full.

LOVE this trailer!! Short, sweet and to the point. It’s about damn time that Pixar featured a female character as the lead of one of their films … and I am so happy that they chose to go with such a strong character. Princess Merida will kickass in Brave, I just know it. I can’t wait to see her take the reigns as Pixar‘s first female lead character. She’s awesome, ain’t she?

Couch Commando

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 12:29 PM PDT

So … Sunday … yeah. The day started out beautifully enough … the sun was shining, the temps were warm but not insanely hot … it seemed like the perfect day to get out and enjoy the sunshine. In actuality, my Sunday turned out to be a great day to lounge on the couch … all … day … long. Did you know there are places out there that will deliver food, drink and pretty much anything else your heart desires right to your doorstep? ‘Tis true.

David and I are used to having food delivered but we planned on getting out of the house, at least, to grab dessert. As the day faded into night and the new season of True Blood came on our TV, our plans to leave fell apart. We placed an order with Pink Dot to have ice cream and other delicious desserts delivered to our home. As far as lazy days go … yesterday was among the laziest. And it was glorious ;)

Today, David and I have a lot of chores to take care of around the house … tonight, we’re hoping to hang with some friends. I have to say … this is my fave time of the year. Early Summer is the best ever :D

The Cast Of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ Return To The Jersey Shore

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 11:10 AM PDT

The cast of MTV‘s Jersey Shore, who have been making fools of themselves for the past month or so in the Italian city of Florence for the upcoming 4th season of the show, have made their way back to the actual Jersey Shore to begin filming the 5th season of their show. As you may recall, a report came out last week that claimed that MTV is lookin’ to replace the entire cast of the show with new guidos/guidettes after the completion of season 5 … but according to Paul Pauly D Delvecchio, the “irreplaceable” cast ain’t goin’ nowhere.

The kings and queens of fist pumping aren’t going anywhere yet. Amid rumors that MTV is planning on replacing the cast of Jersey Shore with a newer, cheaper cast, one of the founding fathers of the “Gym. Tan. Laundry” clan isn’t worried. “I think we’re irreplaceable,” Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio told PEOPLE Friday in Las Vegas. “I don’t think they could replace us. They’d just be people trying to be like us, anyway.” On Friday, MTV denied the Internet reports, with a spokesman saying the network has “no plans to recast the show,” which recently finished filming season 4 in Italy and will begin filming season 5 on Sunday in New Jersey. Delvecchio, 30, says the Italian season, which premieres Aug. 4, is full of the drama viewers have come to love. “It’s more of the guys getting into the drama,” he said at the kickoff of his deejaying residency at Palms Casino Resort. “We’re used to it with the girls, but this season it’s a lot of the guys … I think it was as much drama as there was in Miami. Yeah, we got ourselves into some crap. Somehow we always end up OK. There was some serious stuff going on there.” It may be drama that you can find only with the current cast. And Delvecchio is happy to ride the train until it runs out of track. “I’ll do as many Jersey Shore’s as we can,” he said, “but I know everything doesn’t last forever.”

At the end of the day, it’ll all come down to money. If MTV can still make a massive profit with this cast (while still being able to pay their growing salaries) then we will continue to see this cast of characters on Jersey Shore. Once the cost outweighs production, they will scrap the whole bunch of them and find a new batch of characters … it’s as simple as that. My guess is that MTV is gonna hold off and wait to see what the audience reaction will be to the 4th season of Jersey Shore, which was filmed in Italy, before they make any rash decisions. As for the JS crew? Dude, they are LIVING THE DREAM! They have another month or so of partying to get paid for. As annoying as they may be, they really do have life by the family jewels … and if they are smart, they are socking away all the money they are making from this show. Ain’t life grand?

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Marches In The 2011 Gay Pride Parade

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 10:30 AM PDT

On Friday, Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law the legalization of same-sex marriage for the State of New York and on Sunday, he marched in the 2011 NYC Pride Parade … as a hero! Governor Cuomo managed to get the New York legislature to pass the bill legalizing same-sex marriage as promised and happily celebrated the achievement with the throngs of New Yorkers who came out for the Pride parade yesterday. Click below to see some photos of jubilation at this year’s Pride Parade in NYC.

Governor Andrew Cuomo was the the most popular man at Saturday’s 42nd annual gay pride parade, among a sea of men. Cuomo, the Democrat who made same-sex marriage part of his campaign and vehemently led the fight for its approval in the Republican-led Senate, marched alongside Mayor Michael Bloomberg (who, adorably, waved a rainbow flag) and New York City Council speaker Christine Quinn, who is gay. The New York Times said Cuomo, “the parade's rock star,” was eliciting grateful, joyful screams from the crowd throughout his march: The roar became almost deafening as the parade turned onto Christopher Street in the West Village. People leaned over police barriers to get a glimpse of the governor. "Finally we got someone who does what he believes in," said Chuck Sawyer, 49, a fund-raiser for the American Lung Association, who added that he and his partner would probably get married in late summer. "He's been doing what he said he'd do. A lot of past governors and even the president haven't come through. He did.” For his part, the governor said humbly, “New York is the progressive capital of the nation. It's that once again, and it's a pleasure to be part of it today."

It’s rare that a politician is heralded like a hero in this way but Governor Cuomo truly is a hero for our times. He vowed to make same-sex marriage legal in the State of New York and with the help of his fellow Democrats and a few brave Republicans, he was able to make good on that promise. If anyone deserved the center of attention at this year’s Pride Parade, it was Governor Cuomo. Cuomo will likely go down in History as one of the brave trailblazing politicians who helped shepherd the United States of America into a new era of equality for all. There is still a long way to go for the US to offer marriage equality to all of its citizens … but thanks to the hard work of men like Andrew Cuomo, we are well on our way to that happy day when the US does finally does the right thing. For now, I think that is much cause for celebration … and pride parades :D

Britney Spears Meets With The ‘Hold It Against Me’ Marines

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 09:16 AM PDT

Back in April we got to see an amazingly fun video of a group of US Military marines stationed in Afghanistan performing their version of Britney Spears‘s single Hold It Against Me. In May we learned that Britney made plans to meet with these marines here at home in the US to personally thank them for making their fun video. This weekend, in Las Vegas, LV, Britney made good on her promise and met with the HIAM marines backstage before she performed her concert there Saturday night … and she shared the group photo on her official Twitter profile.

So honored to meet the marines of HMLA-169 “Vipers” who made that amazing HIAM video. -Britney

Awww … what a great photo … and what a nice way to bring the whole Marines Love Britney thing full circle. After this group of marines decided to send Britney love with their performance video, she returns the favor by personally thanking them in person at one of her shows. I love this so much! It’s so great to see these brave marines home, safe and sound. Something tells me that our dear Britney can count on calling these marines life long fans ;)

Madonna & Brahim Zaibat Rekindle Their Romance In Paris, France

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 08:58 AM PDT

Early last month we learned the sad news that Madonna had broken off her romance with her 20-something year old toy boy Brahim Zaibat (reportedly over religious differences) but today we learn that that break-up is off! Maddy surfaced in Paris, France this weekend in the close company of Brahim and the couple looked VERY much together everywhere they went. Paris may be known as the City of Light but for Madge and Brahim, it has become the City of Rekindled Lurve.

First she was spotted accompanying him to a Parisian nightclub where he was DJ-ing this weekend and yesterday Madonna was out with Brahim Zaibat once again. The 52-year-old singer has reportedly rekindled her romance with the 24-year-old French hip-hop dancer, after they split in May. The couple, who previously dated for nine months, were pictured leaving the Ritz Hotel together in Paris to catch the Eurostar to London. Madonna couldn't stop smiling as she strolled alongside her toy boy, 28-years her junior, in a black leather jacket as she held onto her matching hat. And as the Like a Virgin singer was dressed head-to-toe in black, Zaibat looked ever so chic in baby blue as his sunglasses hung on around his neck. The pair were first spotted partying in the trendy VIP Room in the French capital on Saturday night, where they were seen kissing in the back of the club. They then left together arm-in-arm and returned to their hotel. Their reunion comes after calling it quits on the romance last month after his family said they did not want him going to Kabbalah meetings with her, but stick to his Muslim beliefs instead. After the split, a source close to Zaibat said: 'Things started to go sour and they were hardly seeing each other.'

HMMM … to be honest, I never really bought the whole “they broke up for religious differences” explanation of the couple’s split. I had assumed that they just stopped hanging out and the press came up with a reason for the “break up”. It now seems pretty clear that Madonna and Brahim very likely never broke up in the first place. Curiously, tho, in the entire time that they have been together, they went to great legnths to avoid being photographed together. In one fell swoop, this weekend, they gave the photogs more than enough chances to photograph the couple together. It is still unclear if these two are seriously serious … or if they are just foolin’ around … but one thing’s for sure, they seem to want us to know they’re together. HMMMM.

Beyoncé Headlines The Glastonbury Festival 2011

Posted: 27 Jun 2011 08:17 AM PDT

For the first time in its 20 year history, a female performer headlined The Glastonbury Festival this year … and that woman was Beyoncé. Closing out the final night of the 3 day music festival, Beyoncé performed a set of her hit songs, a few select cover songs and a couple of her new songs in front of tens of thousands of people on the main Pyramid Stage. Without question … Beyoncé KILLED her performance! She was a woman in charge … she was the Queen of Glastonbury. Click below to see some photos, read some deets and watch some video of Beyoncé‘s headlining performance at Glastonbury 2011.

The hoped-for duet with Jay-Z might not have happened – but Beyoncé blew most of the doubters out of the water last night with her Bootylicious performance to close the Glastonbury Festival. The star was watched by her rapper husband and friend Gwyneth Paltrow as well as 170,000 people on Worthy Farm in Somerset as she tore through an impressive hour-and-a-half set. Wearing just black hotpants and a gold belted jacket with her hair blowing curly and free in the evening breeze, she appeared at times overcome with emotion at the reception she was given. And even though she’s more used to playing to fans in slick arena shows rather than to thousands of festival goers stuck in the mud, she appeared to totally win over the crowd. Playing a greatest hits set of mostly her own and Destiny’s Child tunes, she also covered tracks including Etta James’s At Last, Kings Of Leon’s Sex On Fire and Alanis Morrisette’s You Oughta Know … she also duetted with Tricky for song Baby Boy … she kept fans happy, kicked off with a firework-punctuated Crazy In Love. She seemed thrilled to be there, declaring: 'You are witnessing my dream! Thank you for having me and my band tonight, I always wanted to be a rock star and tonight we are all rock stars.’ She also included tracks including Single Ladies – which of course she did the dance to, in her sparkly black high heeled ankle boots – If I Were A Boy, Independent Women, Bootylicious and Survivor as well as new single Who Run The World (Girls) before closing with an anthemic Halo. At the end of her ground-breaking set, she declared: ‘Can I just say “I love you” to Coldplay and U2, and thanks again for this beautiful night, I will never forget it. I love you all!’ She then disappeared into a glowing pyramid at the back of the set – literally built because it was on the Pyramid Stage. The star – the first female to headline the festival in more than 20 years – was playing with an all-female band including a horn section with some male backing dancers to even things up a bit.

Bey gave nothing short of an epic performance, truly. She worked that stage like the pro that she is, proving that she absolutely deserved her headline spot on the Glasto bill. I am really happy that her husband Jay-Z did not jump on stage to perform with her … it was HER night, she needed absolutely no one to validate her performance. Here are some video clips of Beyoncé‘s Glasonbury performance last night. Watch them while you can, the Glastonbury clips have been disappearing from You Tube in the past few hours.

Crazy In Love:

Independent Woman (Part 1), Bootylicious, Bug A Boo and Telephone Medley:

Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It):

I was fortunate to see Beyoncé perform close up at the Staples Center here in LA and I can tell you, the woman is the hardest working performer in pop music today. Talent like hers deserves to be on a big stage like this. Glastonbury was lucky to have her. They may not allow female acts to headline very often but when they do, they pick the right ones. Well done, Beyoncé!
