Need a True Blood refresher? Check out the video below.

To be honest, I had forgotten a few key things about True Blood so this video was actually helpful. I enjoyed it, did you?

Joe Manganiello Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 04:30 PM PDT

On Sunday we got to see a few HOT photos of True Blood star Joe Manganiello on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine. Today we get to see hot NEW photos of Joey Man in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine (which also features Chris Evans). As you might’ve guessed, Manganiello is mostly nekkid in these new photos, giving us few new reasons to be thankful for all the hard work he does in the gym. Check out Joe‘s GQ photos below.

There’s no denying it: Joe Manganiello looks good without a shirt. This fact has not gone unnoticed by HBO, for whom he frequently flexes as an oft-nude werewolf on “True Blood.” Ask him about his physique, though, and he’ll insist he’s just following the script: “If Alcide was described as weighing 300 pounds with a comb-over and missing his front teeth, that’s what I would look like.” Luckily for Manganiello’s career, he’s not playing a guy with a gap-toothed smile. It’s his He-Man physique that helped turn a six-episode stint into a regular gig, raising his profile high enough to audition for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot. “He and his wife are huge fans of ‘True Blood,’” Manganiello explains. While Snyder ultimately went another way, Manganiello, 34, isn’t complaining. A few short years ago, he was paying his bills working as a roadie and as a delivery man for a masonry company. As for the new season of “True Blood,” spoilers are as hard to come by as clothing on-set. So, any inhibitions left at all? “Once they yell action,” he says, “you’re a werewolf and you’re not thinking about it. But before, there’s a boom guy crouched behind you at ass level.” Who says werewolves don’t blush?

I say it should be illegal for Joe Manganiello to wear shirts. I mean, he can wear them so long as they are totally unbuttoned but anything more concealing than that should be TOTALLY against the law. His abs are SICK! If there is one thing I am very much looking forward to when True Blood returns next Sunday, it’s seeing Manganiello in action as Alcide. Werewolves tend to get nekkid … and I am counting on a LOT of werewolf action this season.

Watch: Beyoncé Doesn’t Know The Words To Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Everyone knows that if a pop star decides to cover another artist’s song LIVE in concert, they better know the lyrics to that song but sometimes, well, that doesn’t happen. For example, this weekend Beyoncé performed a Queen cover in France and managed to fumble the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody in front of a live audience … and their video cameras. Meh, it happens. Unfortch for B, what happens in France DOESN’T stay in France. Check out the video below.

Aww … well, despite the fact that Beyoncé doesn’t know the lyrics to THE most famous Queen song of all time, I still love her. In the grand scheme of things, this eff up really ain’t no thang … but it is a nice reminder that even Pop Divas like Beyoncé are all too human … and forgetful ;)

Photos From Chis Evans’s ‘GQ’ Photospread Hit The Internets

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 02:30 PM PDT

Last week we got our first look at Captain America: The First Avenger star Chris Evans on the cover of the new issue of GQ magazine. This week, we get to see some photos from his GQ photospread. In this issue, Evans models some of the hot looks that men will be rockin’ this Fall season. While some of the photos are a bit silly, Chris Evans does tend to make everything look hot … especially unbuttoned shirts ;) Click below to see some of his GQ photos.

Oh yeah, these photos DEFFO have a Zoolander feel to them … all that is missing is the turtleneck over the mouth photo. As much as the sight of Chris Evans with his legs spread is appealing, posing him with the big white dog (to match his pants) is a bit silly. That said … the man is hot. HOT HOT HOT. I think we can forgive him some silliness from time to time, don’tcha think? Do you like these photos … or are they just a world of no?

Watch: Tracy Morgan Apologizes Publicly For His Homophobic Rant

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 01:52 PM PDT

On June 3rd, comedian Tracy Morgan unloaded an outrageously offensive homophobic rant on stage as he performed a stand-up comedy routine in Nashville, TN and since that day — and the public backlash that ensued — Morgan has been apologizing left and right. Recently, Morgan met with GLBT youth in an effort to learn first hand how his heinous comments have affected others and today he returned to Nashville to offer a very public apology. Click below to watch video of Tracy Morgan‘s apology.

A stone-faced Tracy Morgan delivered a personal apology Tuesday to audience members in Tennessee who were offended by his anti-gay remarks during a stand-up routine earlier this month. The comedian and actor returned to Nashville to meet with gay rights advocates and attendees of the show, including the man whose Facebook post to 1,500 friends first brought attention to the comedian’s comments. After the meeting, Morgan held a news conference at the Nashville Convention Center. “I don’t have a hateful bone in my body,” Morgan told reporters. “I don’t believe that people should be bullied or just made to feel bad about who they are. I totally feel that in my heart.” After about 5 minutes of prepared remarks, Morgan hugged the Facebook commenter, Kevin Rogers, before leaving the room. The “30 Rock” star didn’t take questions. It was Morgan’s second public apology since his June 3 show at The Ryman Auditorium. He met with homeless lesbian and gay youth Friday in New York City, and agreed to the Nashville meeting at the request of Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation President Jarrett Barrios. Rogers said he got the feeling Morgan was sincere in his apology. “Our discussion was a lot of just his genuineness at being sorry for what he said,” said Rogers, a 36-year-old photographer. “He never meant to hurt anybody. He never realized as a comedian that he had such reach as he did to people. He just thought he was just some guy up there speaking and he never meant to hurt anyone.” The 42-year-old comic said during his set that if his son were gay, he would “pull out a knife and stab” him, among other anti-gay statements. “A large majority of the audience did laugh and kind of cheer,” Rogers said. “I’m not sure how much of that was nervous laughter and how much was in genuine support of the words. I know at the time, to me and my partner, we felt that there was genuine support of those words.” Before the news conference, Morgan told gay advocates and some people who had attended the show that he’d even had members of his own family rebuke him for his comments, said Herndon Graddick, senior director of programs for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Morgan told them that he often improvises his stand-up routine and was following a riff he thought would be funny, eventually crossing over a line and going too far. He said he has an opportunity to change his message on stage and relayed a story about how Richard Pryor stopped his liberal use of a racial epithet after a trip to Africa. “So now at this point in my life is an opportunity to make a difference,” said Morgan, who wore a purple striped shirt, droopy designer jeans and a silver medallion on a necklace. “I don’t really see gay or straight. I see human beings now.”

As wholly disgusted as I was by Morgan‘s homophobic comments, I do applaud him now for making good. It’s important that people see that what Tracy Morgan did was wrong and that he is sorry for his actions. Not only has he apologized but he has taken the time to meet with young GLBT teens to see first hand what kind of damage language like his can cause others. I do, honestly, believe that Tracy Morgan is sorry for what he did. If he can take this opportunity to not only learn himself but to teach others that homophobia is wrong, then something good can come from his poor judgment.

Britney Spears Thrills LA With Her ‘Femme Fatale’ Tour

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 01:11 PM PDT

Last night, David and I attended The Femme Fatale Tour starring Queen of Pop Britney Spears at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA and to say that we had anything less than an ABSOFU*KINGLUTELY AMAZING TIME would be a gross understatement. Altho I was very fortunate to attend an early rehearsal performance of this tour a couple of weeks ago, I was extremely anxious to see the final production. I mean … wow … I knew the show was fantastic … but last night’s performance just BLEW my mind! The whole night was a treat from start to finish … check out some of my photos below.

Our night started with the pre-show VIP backstage tour that came with our VIP seats and let me tell you … we had a fantastic time. Not only did we get to hang out backstage for a while before the show started but our tour was led by none other than Britney’s longtime friend and former assistant Felicia Culotta!

Fe was an ABSOLUTE DOLL! She made the tour so fun … no lie, hanging with her made the pre-show VIP experience more than worthwhile. She was so sweet to take a photo with me … I just loved her to DEATH :) I should point out that while we were backstage, we ran into papa Jamie Spears and Britney‘s older brother Bryan and his wife. Not too shabby :)

Here are some photos from Nicki Minaj‘s opening set:

Nicki was so cute and she looked amazing in her costumes (including the white, fluffy Christian Siriano dress above) but I wasn’t too crazy about her set. The sound was not good so we had a hard time hearing her and her stage performance was … odd. She was battling Nemesis or something. I could see what she was trying to do but it just didn’t really work for me. She is a fabulous performer tho … I would LOVE to see her do her own show, without any constraints. I know she puts on one Hell of a show.

Then it was time for Britney:

I mean … how much more can I gush? The show is amazing … Britney was on FIRE last night. You could tell she was having a blast. We were really close to the stage so we could see the smile on her face and the sparkle in her eye. It was so fantastic to see the sold out Staples Center screaming their heads off for her all night long. She killed it, hands down … no question. Dead.

For the finale performance of Till the World Ends, Nicki joined Britney on stage:

… and then fireworks went off, sparks flew all over the place, confetti rained down from all over and Britney took flight with her angel wings … it was like a religious experience. The Femme Fatale Tour is NOT TO BE MISSED!! See this show, I swear … it’s simply amazing! David, who is not easily impressed, had the time of his life last night … we both did:

I kid you not, he is still singing Britney songs in the other room right now. Even after the show last night, as people poured out of the Staples Center, everyone was cheering, singing and dancing in the streets. Britney did the damn thing last night … she is the Queen. Hands down :)

David and I will be seeing the show again on Friday night in Anaheim … and then, I just learned, later in the Summer on the East Coast … where I will be meeting and greeting with Britney herself :) Woooooooooooooooot!!!

Tonight, David and I will be heading into the Valley to hang with our dear friend Gillian. We need to check in with her growing baby bump so … it shall be a blast :)

First Listen: Maroon 5 (Featuring Christina Aguilera), ‘Moves Like Jagger’

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 11:05 AM PDT

Maroon 5 frontman and judge/coach on The Voice teamed up with his Voice castmate Christina Aguilera for a new Maroon 5 single titled Moves Like Jagger and right now we get our first listen of the track. The song is a departure from the usual kind of music we get from Maroon 5 … specifically, Adam Levine‘s voice gets auto-tuned for the chorus. But, despite the differnet feel of the song, I do like it. Give it a listen below and see what you think.

The whistling reminds me immediately of Britney Spears‘s new single I Wanna Go … but with it’s own spin. I love Xtina‘s vocals … she adds a nice touch to the song and I really appreciate she keeps the OHHHHHHH WHOOOOOOAs to a minimum. What do y’all think? Is this song a hit? Do you love it?

Marvel Comics Kills Off Peter Parker In ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 10:31 AM PDT

Superman did it. Batman did it. Earlier this year, The Human Torch did it. And now … Spider-Man is being killed off in issue No. 160 of Ultimate Spider-Man. Last Fall, Marvel Comics announced that there were plans in the works for the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series to go out with a bang and this week, that bang has come. The final issue of Ultimate Spider-Man will be released tomorrow … and in it, Peter Parker will be killed off. Click below to check out the cover artwork of Ultimate Spider-Man Issue No. 160 along with some pages from inside the issue as well as some deets about how Parker will meet his end.

The lights are going out for Peter Parker, the high school student bitten by a radioactive spider whose wall-crawling and web-slinging antics have made him a touchstone of Marvel Comics’ universe of heroes and villains.

The publisher said Tuesday that Parker’s alter ego, Spider-Man, will finally succumb to one of his most pernicious foes in the final issue of “Ultimate Comics Spider-Man” due out Wednesday.

Fans of Spider-Man need not worry much, though, because the Ultimates imprint is separate from Marvel’s bigger universe. Whatever fate may befall Ultimate Spider-Man won’t count in the pages of the other series, including Amazing Spider-Man. The death, while dramatic, is not entirely unexpected. In November, Marvel said that the Ultimate Spider-Man was going to face an uncertain fate in the latest storyline by writer Brian Michael Bendis fittingly titled “The Death of Spider-Man,” an eight-issue arc that saw the return of original series artist Mark Bagley. Bendis and Bagley had worked together on the series for 111 issues. Bendis told The Associated Press that in issue No. 160 Parker fights valiantly but will pass on, heroically, in a pitched fight. To whom? “He will pass heroically, but he will die at the hands of the Green Goblin,” Bendis said, recalling his nearly 11 years writing the title, which debuted in October 2000. The death is real and in Marvel’s Ultimate Comics imprint, death is not something taken lightly. Characters in that universe are dead and gone, never to return. The roll of the deceased already includes Magneto, Wasp and Wolverine, among others. “Ten years ago, Brian Bendis and Mark Millar changed the way people saw super heroes with the birth of the Ultimate Universe. With ‘Death of Spider-Man’ the two have done it again, creating a story just as big, and something that would really resonate with fans,” said Mark Paniccia, Marvel senior editor. “But Peter’s death doesn’t signal the end of their larger plan — it’s the start of one of the most ambitious stories you’ve ever read in comics.” Bendis said that Parker’s death won’t be in vain and hinted that the Ultimate Spider-Man may not be gone forever. But what exactly is to come, that’s something he’s not willing to share, at least not yet … Axel Alonso, Marvel’s editor-in-chief, said there’s never been a Marvel Universe without a Spider-Man, so killing the character is a big step. “We’ve never seen a world without Spider-Man, a world without Peter Parker, so his death is a significant event for the Ultimate Comics universe and we’re going to see how quickly it changes everything,” he said, adding that the fallout from Parker’s death will play out in the upcoming “Ultimate Comics Fallout” as the company retools its Ultimate universe.

I kinda love the way the Ultimate universe works … because normally, when superheros are killed off in comic books (much like dramatic characters are sometimes killed off on soap operas), they always tend to come back to life somehow. Altho I feel that killing off major comic book characters like this can feel gimmicky (ie. as a way to get fans to buy up copies of the comic to keep as collector’s items), I do think telling the story of the Death of Spider-Man can be a compelling one. To be honest, I thought the death of Spider-Man would come at the hands of Julie Taymor and her dreadful Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark … but, I guess, Marvel Comics wanted to reserve the honor all for themselves. Peace out, Peter Parker! We’ll miss you!

Jake Gyllenhaal & Bear Grylls Vs. Wild

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 09:18 AM PDT

Actor and all around hottie Jake Gyllenhaal will appear on the upcoming season premiere of the Discovery Channel series Man Vs. Wild starring wildman Bear Grylls and today we get to check out a few promo photos from the season premiere. Bear takes Jake to the magical environs of Iceland … and it looks like the guys have a great time exploring together. Check out the photos below.

Bear Grylls has survived in some of the most dangerous places on Earth. From jungles to deserts and from Everest to Antarctica, he travels to places where you couldn’t last a day without the right survival skills. To kick off a run of all-new episodes of MAN VS WILD on Monday, July 11 from 9-10PM ET/PT, Bear brings along a companion – actor Jake Gyllenhaal. MAN VS WILD will test how Gyllenhaal measures up to unpredictable and unforgiving Mother Nature. For two days, Bear and Jake embark on a survival experience neither will forget, to an Icelandic landscape dominated by mountains, huge glaciers and some of Europe’s most active volcanoes. Jake will have to go where Bear goes, eat whatever Bear eats, and on occasion even take the lead, if he’s going to cope with some of the worst conditions known to man. “For me, it’s all about discovery,” said Gyllenhaal. Said Bear about the experience, “The wild is always very revealing – not only physically but mentally. You’ve got to smile when it’s driving horizontal hail and be able to face your fears and just get on and do it — and on both of those accounts, Jake came up strong.”

Woot!! This sounds like an awesome ep! I must admit, despite my love for Bear Grylls (and his oft shirtlessness), I don’t watch too much Man Vs. Wild. Now that I know that Jakey poo will appear in the season premiere next month, I’ll be tuning in for sure ;) They should rename the ep, Hot Men in Iceland. Again, I say, Woot!!

Lindsay Lohan Films A Commercial While On House Arrest

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 08:16 AM PDT

Last month we learned that Lindsay Lohan, who is currently under house arrest for a theft conviction and probation violation, worked out a deal to promote the sale of electronic cigarettes by posing for an ad photo. Today we learn that the always entrepreneurial Lohan has worked out another endorsement deal to promote the use of an online sales website called Beezid.com. According to TMZ, Lindsay was paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000. for filming an 11 second video … all while she is being “punished” for her crimes. Brilliant.

Lindsay Lohan’s house arrest is paying off BIG TIME — because last weekend the actress shot a brand new commercial from inside the confines of her apartment … TMZ has learned. Lohan got in front of the camera for an Internet penny auction site called Beezid.com. A rep for the company tells us Lohan was originally offered $25k for the job … which the actress turned down … but the two eventually came to terms for an undisclosed amount. We’re also told Lindsay was also given a $10,000 credit to spend on the website.

Um … you realize that this means that Lindsay actually made MORE than $25,000 … which, coupled with the $10,000. credit, means she got paid around $35,000. for less than 5 minutes of work. HMMMM. As grossly disgusting as this feels to me, I can’t say I blame her at all … I mean, why not get paid exorbitant sums of money while on house arrest if the legal system allows the practice? I guess this means that Lindsay could possibly be taking time away from her bizzy party schedule and non-paid photo shoot schedule to film more commercials … while she’s supposedly being punished! OY! I can’t even deal …

Bam Margera Takes Offense To Roger Ebert’s ‘Jackass’ Comment About Ryan Dunn’s Death

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 07:42 AM PDT

Yesterday morning we learned the sad news that Jackass star Ryan Dunn and a passenger were killed in an early morning car accident in Pennsylvania. The last photos of Dunn, posted himself online, showed him partying with friends at a bar while drinking alcohol just hours before the accident. As a result, film critic Roger Ebert tweeted the message “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive”. An enraged Bam Margera, who is a close friend of Dunn‘s, blasted Ebert for his comment … resulting in a public feud which, IMHO, just adds insult to the already terribly injury of Ryan‘s death. Additionally, the passenger who was also killed in the accident has been identified as one of the friends that Ryan was partying with at the bar before the accident took place.

Hours after Jackass star Ryan Dunn and another passenger were killed in an early morning car accident in eastern Pennsylvania yesterday, film critic and habitual tweeter Roger Ebert posted the news of his passing, with a link to the local NBC News report. Moments later, he followed with, "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive." Though the West Goshen Police Department's accident report made no mention of alcohol as a cause of the accident, Dunn had posted a photo on his own Twitter account just hours before the crash that showed him and two friends drinking at a local bar. Though the manager of the bar told CNN, "He didn't seem to be intoxicated at the time he left," there's no denying that Dunn was drinking and driving. Still, Ebert's tweet, which used Dunn's show's title as a pejorative, rubbed many the wrong way. A few hours later, Dunn's Jackass collaborator Bam Margera, tweeted "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of shit roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents… About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, fuck you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat fucking mouth!"

Ugh. On the one hand, I can absolutely understand Bam‘s reaction to Ebert‘s comments. The raw emotion he must be feeling at his friend’s death is prolly still overwhelming … but, I too can understand Ebert’s comment. Drunk driving is among the most heinous crimes because they can effect completely innocent people who just happen to be on the road at the same time as drunk drivers. Altho police have not yet released the cause of the accident, it seems very likely that alcohol was a factor in the accident. New photos of Dunn drinking with friends at a bar shortly before the accident took place have come to light:

If we accept for the moment that drunk driving (coupled with excessive driving speed) was the cause of the accident, then we must accept that the core of what Roger Ebert was saying is true. Dunn‘s friend Zachary Hartwell wasn’t driving and, yet, he is also dead because of this accident. Hartwell‘s identity has been confirmed as the passenger of Ryan Dunn‘s fatal car crash:

Officials have identified the passenger who was killed in “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn’s fatal crash as 30-year-old Zachary Hartwell … a friend who had been hanging with Dunn at a Philly-area bar earlier in the night. Cops say both Dunn and Hartwell (pictured above right) both died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash around 2:38 AM Monday morning. Sources who were at the bar with the two men tell us Dunn had intended to drop Hartwell off at his home … and then Dunn planned to hang out with another friend after that. Hartwell is credited as a production assistant on the “Jackass 2″ movie and recently had a small role in the Bam Margera-directed 2009 movie “Minghags.”

For Margera and the rest of Ryan Dunn‘s family and friends, yes … Roger Ebert‘s comments are way too soon. BUT as a cautionary tale for others, I think they are valid and important. This is what comes of drunk driving. It happens every day, all over the world. Family members and friends are killed in drunk driving accidents every single day. If anything good can come from tragedy like this, my hope is that others will learn that drunk driving is not worth the risk to one’s life and the life of others.
