Watch: HBO Previews ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 2

Last night HBO aired the Season 1 finale ep of the new series Game Of Thrones and immediately after the episode finished, a very short teaser video was shown announcing the return of Game of Thrones for Season 2 next year. Click below to check out the brief teaser in full … but be warned, I will be discussing the key scene that ended the episode so do not read if you’ve yet to see last night’s finale ep.


“Game of Thrones” has just wrapped the first season, but HBO does not waste time to promote its second season. A teaser for the next chapter is aired after the season 1 finale on Sunday, July 19 to remind viewers that the show will return sometime in spring 2012. There is no new footage in the clip but it has been known that the season 2 will be based on “A Clash of Kings”, which is the second book in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. When its renewal was announced in April, it had not been determined when the production will be kicked off. More scoops from the upcoming season can be expected at San Diego Comic Con 2011. The critically lauded newbie will be brought to the convention along with another HBO show “True Blood”. A panel for “Thrones” will take place on Thursday, July 21 with the stars like Emilia Clarke, Jason Momoa and Peter Dinklage scheduled to appear.

OK, yes, this teaser shows us NOTHING but … HELLO, how about that final scene last night? I am pretty sure that those baby dragons will be very important when “play resumes” in the second season of Game of Thrones next Spring. Game of Thrones turned out to be a very cool series, I’m glad I started watching when I did. I am really looking forward to another season of the show … but it’s a shame we have to wait until Spring 2012 to see it. Did any of y’all watch the Season 1 finale ep last night? J.K. Rowling’s New Pottermore Site Is Almost Here

Last week we learned that Harry Potter author JK Rowling was readying the release of something called Pottermore and ever since that announcement was made, everyone has been speculating at to what Pottermore might be. Since the announcement was made, the Pottermore website has been updated with a link to a You Tube page that is counting down to the announcement day this Wednesday … a page full of owls. The owls are animated but don’t really give any clues … well, not that I can decipher. THIS website, tho, has a couple of speculatative theories on what Pottermore might be … and I think they’re on to something. Click below to read more.

J.K. Rowling has got every Harry Potter fan wondering just what the big announcement and secret of Pottermore is. The countdown on the site started with an owl perched on a tree. Since the countdown started, more and more owls have joined the wait along with the teaser "The owls are gathering…Find out why soon." As of right now, 20 owls are waiting on the countdown video. If you hover your mouse over them the shake their head and tails. In 2 days … we will finally get to know the official secret to Pottermore. Until then theories are in high gear. First thoughts pegged the announcement to relate to e-books. Now, the idea that is growing the most moment is that Pottermore will actually be PotterM.O.R.E which will stand for Potter Multimedia Online Resource Encyclopedia. The theory is that the site will be a fully interactive world for Harry Potter fans. It is thought to include forums, games, online chat rooms, stories, multiplayer role playing games… basically an interactive social network in a Hogwarts setting.
Sounds plausible, but nothing is official yet!

It hadn’t occurred to me that the announcement might have something to do with the e-book release of the entire Harry Potter book series … that make’s total sense. BUT, the fact that POTTERMORE could be an acronym for Potter Multimedia Online Resource Encyclopedia seems like the more likely option. Rowling has been talking about a Harry Potter encyclopedia for years now … Pottermore could be that idea come to life. We will know very soon what Pottermore is and will mean for fans. I can’t wait to find out.

Bristol Palin Shares (Sad) Details About Losing Her Virginity To Levi Johnston

Last month we got our first taste of Levi Johnston‘s memoir titled Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs and today we get a sample from his babymama Bristol Palin‘s memoir Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far. In her book, ghostwritten by Nancy French, Bristol opens up about the romantic way she lost her virginity to Johnston. Apparently there were wine coolers involved. Bristol Palin is opening up about her ex-fiance Levi Johnston, losing her virginity and her mother Sarah Palin's vice presidential run in her new memoir “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far.” Among the most personal details Palin reveals is the story of losing her virginity: The 20-year-old writes that she was on a camping trip with Johnston and drank too many wine coolers. She later woke up in the tent alone and could hear Johnston talking with friends outside. She had no memory of what happened. They both vowed to wait until marriage to have sex again, but that didn’t hold. When she got pregnant with their son Tripp, it took eight at-home pregnancy tests to convince her it was really happening, she said. She had been on birth control for cramps and never expected to conceive. According to Palin, Johnston was less than supportive, saying, “Better be a fucking boy.” Much of her history with her ex-boyfriend, who posed for Playgirl after their split, overlaps with her mother’s run for vice president in 2008. In the book, she relives the family's trip to Dayton, Ohio, where then-Gov. Sarah Palin announced she would be running alongside Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), and to the GOP convention, where the media found out Bristol was expecting. Johnston was along for the ride, and Bristol explains that in her mind, having him there “somehow legitimized us as a couple." However, soon after Tripp was born things fell apart. Not only was Johnston cheating, but she and her family found out he was blabbermouth too. The way she sees it, he is “the gnat named Levi Johnston constantly spreading false accusations against our family" and the guy “who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates.” Despite their ups and downs, the two did try to reconcile briefly. He proposed and the couple sold their engagement story to Us Weekly, but they quickly split. It turned out, she writes, that Johnston told her he was having another baby with someone else. This time they stayed apart. “I’d just made a complete fool of myself and given my family the middle finger,” she says.

It’s unclear if Bristol talks about the face-altering surgery she had done just in time for her new reality TV show but my guess is that her book is chock full of these sorts of stories. It’s plainly obvious that Bristol is serious about finding fame and fortune in the world of celebrity. It would seem that she is very actively following in her mother’s footsteps as they both seem to revel in the spotlight. As for this new memoir … it doesn’t sound like something I’d, personally, be intersted in reading but if you are interested, you can preorder the book from Amazon HERE. First Levi Johnston becomes a published “author” and now Bristol Palin? I’m thinking the folks who hand out the Nobel Prize for Literature are going to have a devil of a time picking a winner this year.

A Little Bit Of Detroit Comes To The Sunset Strip In LA

Because I was in Detroit this past half week for such a short time, I was unable to indulge in one of my favorite meals of all time — the Detroit Coney Island hot dog. In fact, I had planned to stopping in for a coney dog on Thursday night after the Lenka concert in Pontiac, MI but it was too late to do so. Thankfully, over the weekend, a Detroit-style, Detroit-owned coney island eatery opened on the Sunset Strip here in LA over the weekend! At last, SoCal can now enjoy a little taste of Detroit right in its own backyard now that Coney Dog is open on Sunset Blvd.

It was just before noon [Sunday], and a line of characters, many of them dressed in U-M, MSU, Red Wings and Lions and other Detroit-themed garb, were wrapped around the corner on Sunset Boulevard, waiting for a little Motor City flavor in the heart of movie-making country. The reason for the excitement was opening day for the 100-seat Coney Dog, a new Detroit-themed restaurant that has set up shop on one of Hollywood's most well-known drags, next to Whisky a Go Go rock club and just down the street from the Chateau Marmont, a longstanding celebrity haunt. Detroit-styled coneys, loose burgers, Sanders, Stroh's and Faygo are all on the menu, and before it even opened the restaurant became a social-media rallying point among former Michiganders now living in the Los Angeles area. Admitting to first-day jitters was Birmingham-born Mike Binder, the actor-writer-director who owns the restaurant with several other Michigan-connected big shots, including comic-actor Tim Allen, director Sam Raimi and Detroit Red Wing Kris Draper. "It feels like the night before I shoot a movie. I hope nothing goes wrong," said Binder, who greeted restaurant patrons and made sure they were enjoying their dogs. "It’s like making a movie because of all of the attention to detail. I had bun steamers flown in from Michigan, I toured the hot dog factories … even got the right silverware. We wanted to do it right." The inside will look familiar to ex-pats. The 100 seats are a mixture of booths, bar seats and long communal tables, a layout not unlike Lafayette Coney Island in Detroit. There are photos of famous Michigan coney locations. Four large flat screens hang on the walls — many in the opening-day crowd said they’d be back later this week to watch the Detroit Tigers, who will be in town for a series against the Dodgers … Dave Kensler, 33, of White Lake Township was first in line with his wife Tiffani Kensler, 30, of Detroit. The two have lived in Studio City for almost 8 years, and usually make a coney stop when they visit Michigan. They got in line almost two hours before the restaurant opened — Dave wore a Tigers cap and a MSU hockey T-shirt; Tiffani wore a U-M tee. They are alums of the rival universities and met and married in Michigan. "I love it. I miss coneys; I miss Detroit in general. It’s almost like a little oasis of Detroit here in West Hollywood," Dave Kensler said. "It’s not only the coneys, but it’s the Vernors and the Stroh's and the Faygos and people who are calling it pop." And as for how they taste? "It feels like home," Kensler said, piercing the air with his fist and talking around a bite of his coney dog.

I can’t even tell you what this Coney Dog eatery means to me and other metro Detroiters who live here in SoCal. To have a place to frequent that offers genuine Detroit-style eats is a DREAM come true. As happy as I am that I have access this delicioiusness whenever I like, I am really excited for the Los Angelinos who are unfamiliar with Detroit Coney Island hot dogs … because they are going to fall DESPERATELY in love. This is really the best news ever … I cannot WAIT to sink my teeth into my first “imported from Detroit” coney island hot dog :D

Sean Kingston Tweets His First Photo Since Suffering His Jet Ski Accident

Late last month, 21-year old singer Sean Kingston was involved in a very serious jet ski accident that nearly resulted in devastating injury. Thankfully, Kingston has been recuperating from his injuries for the past few weeks and appears to be getting better with each passing day. Today we get to see the first photo of Kingston since his accident with was shared by Sean himself on his official Twitter profile. Wow … this is great news! I knew we’ve been hearing about Sean‘s recuperation for the past few weeks but this personal photo, shared by Sean himself, really drives the fact home that he really does seem to be doing much better. Here’s hoping that Sean continues to get better and hopefully soon, he’ll be able to go home to finish recuperating at home. He looks great, don’t he?

A Very Happy Father’s Day

Yesterday was David’s and my last full day in Detroit and we got to spend it with my parents. In celebration of Father’s Day, Sarah, Mark and David joined me and my parent’s for a nice afternoon brunch at the Woodward Avenue Brewery in Ferndale, MI. Because the W.A.B. is the only place left in the Metro Detroit area with a working old skool photobooth, I wanted to make sure that I took the opportunity to get some photobooth photo of my parents. Everyone too their turn in the photobooth but my parents’ photostrip really turned out the cutest ;)


My mother hates taking photos but with help from my dad, we managed to cajole her into being a good sport. It was nice sharing the afternoon with Sarah, Mark and David, too! We had a great day together. The rest of yesterday was very leisurely and then last night, David and I flew home. The flight was a bit delayed but we managed to get home safe and sound.

Tonight is a big day … David and I will be making our way to the Staples Center in downtown LA to see Britney Spears LIVE in concert at her Femme Fatale Tour! I am really looking forward to seeing the final show with my own eyes. Tonight is going to be a fantastic night … I can already feel it! Woot!!

Watch: Amy Winehouse Is A Sad, Drunken Mess On Stage In Serbia

Amy Winehouse, who checked herself out of rehab just a few days after she checked in this month, was the absolute picture of tragic trainwreckness this weekend as she tried to perform a concert in Serbia. Amy, who IMHO looked absolutely blitzed out of her mind, stumbled around on stage for a bit before she attempted to sing … and failed. Unsurprisingly, the rest of Amy‘s tour has been canceled as a result of her disastrous performance this weekend. The whole sad thing was captured on video that is just too sad to even be funny. The simple fact is that Amy Whinehouse is a complete mess ;(


How was your weekend? No matter what you did, it probably went better than Amy Winehouse's. The troubled singer, who just wrapped up a stint in rehab, cancelled two upcoming dates on a brief tour after a disastrous performance in Belgrade. After taking the stage an hour late at a festival in the Serbian capital, Winehouse stumbled around, fought with her microphone, only occasionally sang her own songs and talked a lot about how much she likes some of her band members more than others. While the crowd at the show seemed to go along with her for a while, they eventually turned on her, sending boos and heckles in her direction. "Amy Winehouse has canceled appearances in Istanbul and Athens for the coming week," her publicist told EW in a statement. "Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do." Like most on-stage meltdowns, Winehouse's starts off vaguely scandalous but ends up just sort of sad at the end … It's strange to think that she was well enough to even book a tour (though it's quite possible that because of her lack of recent musical output and her legal and rehab bills, she might need the paycheck). And a bummer to realize that at only 27, she has reached a point in her career where she is mostly famous for being a mess. We wish her the best for her personal recovery; though there are still remnants of that voice that seduced the world buried beneath the trouble, Winehouse needs to focus on her health first and worry about the stage later.

Seriously, how long can this kind of behavior continue until something truly tragic happens? I’m just amazed that the people who work for her — book her tours, take her on the road, prep her for the stage — are able to just push this drunk mess of a woman on stage and hope she gets thru the performance. But, in the end, the only person who can save Amy Winehouse‘s life is Amy Winehouse. This sort of thing has been going on for years. Until she wants to clean up and save her own life, she will continue to live like this … until she dies. Sad but true. Very sad but true :(

Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez Reunite At The 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards

When last we saw photos of young lovebirds Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez hanging out together, the couple were vacationing in Justin‘s Canadian hometown together at the start of this month. Shortly thereafter, Justin and Selena parted ways and Selena fell strangely ill for a few days. Justin tweeted his well-wishes to Selena during her ailment but the couple were not reunited until last night on stage at the Canadian 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards (which she co-hosted). Justin Bieber looked totally smitten with Selena Gomez on stage at the MuchMusic Video Awards last night. The 17-year-old singer wrapped an arm around his stunning girlfriend as she hosted the awards ceremony. The event was Selena’s first public appearance since her hospitalisation for malnutrition last week. Bieber took to the stage to accept an award, which he shared with hip hop star Drake, after they were named joint winners of best international Canadian video. While 18-year-old Gomez slipped into an array of revealing outfits during the course of the evening, Justin stuck to his guns, donning a retro T-shirt with a printed picture of Saved By The Bell Nineties pin-up Tiffani Thiessen. You’d have thought the 17-year-old would have been too young to be a fan of the American teen sitcom – but that didn’t stop him wearing the top, which showed Thiessen in character as high school student Kelly Kapowski. Justin also scooped the honour for favourite artist by ordinary Canadians, adding yet more awards to his growing trophy collection … Gomez proved a successful host for the night, having bounced back to health following her recent hospital dash, which she later revealed was down to malnutrition. The MuchMusic Video Awards is the biggest music awards ceremony in Canada and have been running since 1990. Irish heartthrob actor Colin Farrell joined Selena on stage to help with hosting duties, as did 90210 star Trevor Donovan … On accepting her prestigious role as the event’s co-host, Selena recently told the Toronto Herald: ‘It’s exciting and scary at the same time because (Wizards) was my safety net. ‘That’s all I really know so it’ll be interesting to detach from that and be on my own.’

Awww … Justena, together again. As for the MMVAs, I can’t think of a more odd collection of awards show hosts than Selena Gomez, Colin Farrell and Trevor Donovan but, well, there you have it. Gotta love them Canucks, eh?

Cheryl Cole Speaks Publicly For The First Time Since Being Fired From ‘The X Factor’

Early this month we learned officially that singer Cheryl Cole was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger as judge on the US version of The X Factor (due to premiere on Fox this Fall) reportedly due to the fact that producers feared that the US audience would have difficulty understanding Cole‘s Geordie accent. Just one day after news of Cole‘s axing was announced, Simon Cowell spoke out publicly about the decision to fire Cheryl from X Factor. Since that time, Cheryl Cole has been silent … but yesterday, she posted a message to her fans on her official blog to finally speak out and give a personal update in the wake of the X Factor debacle. It’s me! I wanted to talk to you all direct, and first and foremost thank you all for your continued love, unbelievable LOYALTY and support and remind you that I love you all to bits.

Where do i start? I have had the weirdest past few weeks (nothing unusual there though.) I wouldn’t even know how to begin to tell you all about it. What I do know for certain is that I have the BEST, most unbelievable people out there, who I feel so lucky to call my support system. You never fail to amaze me. I have been reading your letters and opening my prezzies ( I feel very spoilt ) and hearing all of your kind, special and inspiring things you want to say to me.

It also breaks my heart a little when i hear that some of you worry about me and need to know that I am ok, so I want to PROMISE you that I am absolutely fine and more than ok!

I have had the time that I have not had in so long to just chill with my loved ones and do the normal things that I like to do. See my friends and family and be with my doggys :D. It feels long overdue and sooooo good, even my feet are happy to not have to wear a pair of high heels hehe..

And there you have it … Cheryl doesn’t really tell us much, tho she does make it clear first, that she loves and appreciates her fans and second, that she is doing just fine. While I believe that both things are true, I suspect she is very likely still smarting from the public embarassment of being fired from The X Factor before the show was even close to its premiere date. That said, Cheryl Cole will be just fine. In no time at all, a new opportunity will come along and this X Factor mess will be forgotten. Let’s not forget that Paula Abdul herself, who is one of the new judges on The X Factor, suffered a public embarassement like this when she was axed from American Idol … and look how things turned out for her. It’s nice to hear from Cheryl … glad to know she’s doing OK.

TMZ Reports That ‘Jackass’ Star Ryan Dunn Has Died [UPDATE]

Tragic news to pass along today. According to a new report from TMZ, one of the castmembers of the MTV and feature film series Jackass died in a car accident early this morning. Ryan Dunn, who was an original Jackass castmember, appearing in the TV series and films from the very beginning, was killed in a car crash that also took the life of another as-yet unidentifed person. TMZ has confirmed this news from April Margera (the mother of fellow Jackass castmember Bam Margera). Read on for all the known deets about this tragic accident.

“Jackass” star Ryan Dunn died in a car crash in Pennsylvania early this morning … TMZ has confirmed with Bam Margera’s mother. Dunn and an unidentified person both died in the crash which happened around 3 a.m. at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. Story developing …

Wow … this is very sad news. Ryan just celebrated his 34th birthday on June 11 … far too young to be taken in an accident like this. I’m sure more details will be released concerning this car accident but let’s send our love and deepest condolences to Ryan‘s family today.

UPDATE: TMZ has updated their site with more information … and it’s not a pleasant read :(

We’re told the car caught fire in the crash — and hours later, a tow truck was called to the scene to remove the charred wreckage. Just hours before his death, Dunn posted a photo on Twitter showing himself drinking with friends … “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn was the driver in this morning’s fatal crash … this according to cops who also say Dunn’s car was “fully engulfed in flames” when officials arrived to the scene. The West Goshen Township Police Department says officers found Dunn’s 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 “off the road and in the woods.” Both Dunn and his passenger “died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.” Cops will release more information on the passenger once officials can positively identify the body. Cops say “speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.” An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Tragic. Just … tragic :(

Watch: Britney Spears Releases A 30-Second Clip Of Her ‘I Wanna Go’ Music Video

Over the weekend it was announced that Britney Spears will world premiere her new music video for her single I Wanna Go this coming Wednesday June 22. Last night, a 30-second teaser clip of the video was unleashed upon the world … and it looks really freakin’ good! Along with the teaser clip, a fun “movie” poster for the video and a still photo from the video have also been released to promote this week’s premiere of I Wanna Go.
