Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark's Bono Talks Julie Taymor

Posted: 10 Jun 2011 12:45 PM PDT

bono talks julie taymor

Back in May, Bono spoke about Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and he had less-than-flattering things to say about it.

Now, Bono has opened up about "sort of" director/co-writer Julie Taymor.

Here's what he had to say about her:

"She's so involved with the details of her work and perhaps she got a little tired. She got so close to it perhaps in the last moments she couldn't see it."

Inneresting insights, Bono. Guess we'll see if the musical fares better without her, when the revamped version officially opens on Tuesday.

What do U think about Bono's comments about Julie?

Winne Mandela Is NOT Pleased With Jennifer Hudson's Winnie Biopic

Posted: 10 Jun 2011 12:30 PM PDT

Back in March, we were impressed to hear how committed Jennifer Hudson was to her lead role in Winnie, a biopic about Nelson Mandela's wife.

Now, we're not so sure how we feel about the potential Oscar candidate, after hearing what the real Winnie Mandela had to say about the project (above).

The film does NOT have her blessing, and she claims she wasn't consulted about it.

This definitely puts a poor taste in our mouth about the whole thing.

What do U think? Do Winnie Mandela's comments change your feelings about this film?

Mark Zuckerberg Has Some Interesting Advice For Graduating 8th Graders

Posted: 10 Jun 2011 12:15 PM PDT

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg gave a commencement speech to a bunch of 8th graders at the Belle Haven Community School in Menlo Park, California this week. And, he had some interesting advice for the soon-to-be high schoolers.

He told the graduating class of 2011 to focus on building great relationships, to study hard, do what you love, and um, don't take any shortcuts.

Hmm, seems like some strange advice coming from a guy who famously (allegedly) screwed over his friend to start the multi-billion dollar company.

Guess he was trying to tell the kids to pay attention to his words and not his actions?

Very, very interesting. Oh well…at least these kids can always say that the founder of Facbeook spoke at their 8th grade graduation!

Congratulations, class of 2011! Work hard and be nice to those around you and you can guarantee success! (Right, Mark??)

Looney Toons Hitting The Big Screen Once Again!

Looney Toons 3D

Awesome! Who doesn't love them some Daffy Duck??

According to an announcement from WB, there are going to be three 3D animated toon shorts that'll play before some of their bigger upcoming features (probably also animated)!

Here are the three:

Daffy's Rhapsody: In the first of the new shorts, a persistent Elmer Fudd chases Daffy Duck (Blanc) on stage during a musical performance. The short features Blanc performing the song "Daffy Duck's Rhapsody."

I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat: A classic game of cat and bird transpires in Granny's apartment as Tweety Bird goes to great lengths to avoid the clutches of his arch-nemesis Sylvester the Cat. The short also features the hit song of the same name, which was performed by Blanc, and sold over three million copies worldwide.

Untitled Coyote & Road Runner: Wile E. Coyote's epic quest to capture the Road Runner continues in this all-new short. Will the Coyote finally get his paws on his elusive prize?

We def wouldn't turn down the chance to see Daffy painting fake mustaches in 3D if they decide to make more than the three! LOLz!

The first of the three is going to be shown before Happy Feet 2, so get ready, folks!

Dakota Fanning Is Going To College!

Dakota College

That's fantastic to hear, because education is so important regardless of fame!

According to Elle, Dakota's younger sister, Dakota will be attending college soon — and has even been spotted touring NYU and east coast schools!

Here's a little of what Elle said:

"I'm in middle school, so I'll be going into eighth grade. We go to the same school, and I also wanna go to college and she's going to college."

With the amount of shizz Dakota has been able to accomplish before she even graduated High School, we have no doubt that college won't be much of a chore for her!

Good luck, Dakota! And Elle, keep up all the great work! You have such potential!

Shia Thinks Indiana Jones 5 Is On Its Way!

shia-labeouf-talks-indiana-jones-sequel

Seriously? After the disaster that was Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?!

Shia LaBeouf recently revealed that despite the fourth installment leaving MUCH to be desired, a fifth Indiana Jones is in the works, and Harrison Ford is already getting in shape to reprise the iconic role!

He explains:

"I talked to Harrison. He said he's staying in the gym. He said he's heard no word, but he does know that George [Lucas] is out there looking for a MacGuffin (plot device). He said he's staying in the gym, so it means, you know, it's not so far off."

Inneresting!

Truth be told though, if Lucas doesn't even know what's going to set up the storyline, we won't be holding our breath for an official announcement - at least not for a while!

ESPECIALLY if they want to make it watchable!

What do U think? Would U go see a new Indiana Jones movie?

Morgan Freeman Honored By AFI, Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

morgan freeman honored by afi

He's played the President. He's played God. He deserves some recognition.

Yesterday, Morgan Freeman was honored by the American Film Institute (AFI), who presented him with their Lifetime Achievement Award.

Celebs who attended the event to celebrate Freeman's achievement include Clint Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Tim Robbins, and Forest Whitaker.

Here's what Clint Eastwood had to say about Morgan, whom he referred to as "the greatest actor":

"He is the most effortless person to be around and to act. I don't know if it's proper to love another man, but this is as close as I'm going to get to it."

And here's what Morgan had to say when presented with his award:

"This is easy to take but hard to believe. Where I come from in Mississippi, they call this walking in high cotton. For me, heaven has always been about acting in the movies. I'm proud to be an actor, although for this one night, you've made me feel like a star."

He may not be a role model when it comes to his personal life, but there's no denying the fact that Morgan's a talented actor and was def worthy of receiving AFI's prestigious award.

What do U think? Did Morgan Freeman deserve AFI's Lifetime Achievement award?

Flo Rida Released On Bail From DUI Arrest

Posted: 10 Jun 2011 11:10 AM PDT

Flo Rida hungover

Flo Rida, who was recently arrested on DUI charges after driving his $1.7 million Bugati with double the legal amount of alcohol in his blood, has been released from Miami jail on bail.

Only a few hours after his embarrassing arrest, observed by a crowd of spectators, he paid $2,000 to be released, then shielded his face from photographers with his shirt as he left the jail.

A friend also saved his precious Bugati — which Flo doesn't mind risking by driving completely hammered — from being impounded by paying a $115 towing fee.

The rapper hasn't commented on the DUI arrest, but a series of tweets show he's on his way to Bangkok for a show.

He'll probably have a whole mess of fines to pay, but he's got a second chance prove he can learn from his mistakes. We hope history doesn't repeat itself!

HOLY SHIZ!

This is seriously the most AMAZINGLY FEROSH thing we have seen in a long time! And just in time for Pride!!!

Check out this awesome video from 1991, featuring a nine-year-old Robert Jeffrey SURRIOUSLY WERKING IT in a big way as he dances and lip synchs to Madonna's Vogue with a vintage karaoke machine (above)!

We're not kidding! It is a MUST-WATCH!

He explains:

I performed to MADONNA's "VOGUE" in the Summer of 1991 when my parents took me to Hampton Beach Casino in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. A business in the casino at the time gave tourists the chance to lip-synch to their favorite pop songs in front of a blue screen background, and I was lucky enough to partake that summer.

In honor of the twentieth anniversary of MADONNA's "TRUTH OR DARE" and in celebration of MADONNA's upcoming "W.E.", here is my nine year old self paying tribute to the woman who changed my life and continues to inspire me just as much today as twenty years ago.

We are BEYOND words! Amazing!

FIERCE FIERCE FIERCE FIERCE! Werk!!!!

Here's hoping you are just as faboosh now, boy!!!

Can U still do the routine now??!
