Watch: Neil Patrick Harris Shows Off His Twin Babies On ‘The View’

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Neil Patrick Harris paid a visit to The View today to talk about his upcoming gig hosting the 2011 Tony Awards and he brought along with him a cute new photo of his twin babies Harper Grace and Gideon Scott to share with the audience. I’m not sure if y’all can handle the full force of the adorableness of these little babies but if you think you can handle it, you might wanna check out the photos below.

NPH, his hubby David Burtka and the twins have been in NYC for the past few weeks prepping for the Tony Awards and it was only natural for the proud papa to share this cute new photo on The View. I can’t even with those cheeks! Aren’t these babies just the most precious little darlings you’ve ever seen? OY!! Neil did talk a bit about the Tonys, which you can see in the short clip below:

To be honest, it’s hard to focus on anything other than those adorable chubby baby cheeks so … yeah. Neil and David have themselves the cutest little twins in all of Hollywood, it’s no wonder they are proud to show them off every chance they get :) Love these babies.

First Look: The Judges Of ‘The X Factor’ Get To Work

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Just days after it was officially announced that Nicole Scherzinger has replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge on the US version of The X Factor, we get to see new photos and video of the newly assembled X Factor judging panel hard at work on the show. The X Factor made its way to New Jersey this week for auditions and provided Nicole her first opportunity to sit in the judges chair next to Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Antonio L.A. Reid. Click below to check out the photos and video from Nicole‘s first day playing with the “big kids”.

Nicole Scherzinger was once merely an understudy for Cheryl Cole, filling in for her on the British version of the show when the Geordie star was struck with malaria.
But as these pictures show, Nicole has now really got her teeth sunk into Chezza’s job, seen here sitting pretty on the U.S. panel at the New Jersey auditions. However, while the confident former Pussycat Doll may no longer be playing second fiddle to Cole, she still has Paula Abdul to reckon with. Nicole was sat in the third seat as auditions kicked off yesterday, one down from 48-year-old Abdul who was in prime position next to Simon.
As she arrived for day two of auditions today Nicole was, predictably, all sweetness and light. Despite reports of bad feelings between her and her predecessor – after Cole reportedly branded Scherzinger average in an interview several years ago – Nicole seemingly took the moral high ground. Asked by MailOnline if she felt sorry for Cheryl, Nicole carefully responded: ‘I just hope Cheryl’s made the right decisions for her.’
She went on: ‘I haven’t spoken to Cheryl, she’s a lovely, talented, sweet girl. I don’t know how it went down or what happened. I was finding out as everyone else was. I just turned up for work and I’m just happy to be here.’ Yesterday Scherzinger tweeted a picture of her and Paula cuddling up backstage at the show’s auditions with the caption: ‘A dream come true! I was & always will B her biggest fan! I cnt believe I get 2 work w/Paula. X Factor day 1!’ … Nicole later tweeted a picture of her and Paula with another of their fellow judges, LA Reid, telling fans: ‘After finishing my vry 1st day on the new job, every1 has bn amazing! Thanku NJ 4 welcoming me. I’m truly grateful & excited 2 B judging.’

And there you have it … the final cast of The X Factor. It is a major bummer that things didn’t work out better for Cheryl Cole but all of this will be forgotten very quickly by folks here in the US. There are still many months to go before The X Factor debuts this Fall and, let’s be honest, 99.9% of the US population has never even heard of Cheryl Cole. I guess we’ll have to see if this judging panel has the fortitude to make for good TV. As we learned from the last season of American Idol, the judging panel can make or break a show like this. I like Nicole Scherzinger … I wish her nothing but the best. Here’s hoping she is able to take full advantage of the opportunity afforded her by The X Factor.

MTV Cancels ‘Skins’

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 02:30 PM PDT

The news concerning the US version of Skins that pretty much everyone was expecting has finally been announced … MTV has decided to cancel the series. As you may know, MTV commissioned a US version of the hit UK series Skins to be created for the US audience and right from the get-go, the show failed to find an audience. Despite sagging ratings, MTV stuck to its guns and aired all 10 episodes of the season … but as soon as the first season ended, MTV barely acknowledged that the show even existd in the first place. It was pretty much assumed by everyone that the show would be canceled and today we learn, officially, that Skins has been axed for good.

MTV will not be going with a second season of its racy teen drama Skins. The news is not particularly surprising as it’s been almost 3 months since the series ended its freshman run. “Skins is a global television phenomenon that, unfortunately, didn't connect with a US audience as much as we had hoped,” MTV said in a statement. “We admire the work that the series' creator Bryan Elsley did in adapting the show for MTV, and appreciate the core audience that embraced it.” Skins, an adaptation of the praised British series, became one of MTV’s most talked about shows ever when TV watchdog the Parents Television Council characterized it as possibly “the most dangerous television show for children that we have ever seen." It called on the Feds to open an investigation for possible child pornography and exploitation on the show, which, in keeping with the British original, employed (often underage) teen actors to play the characters of the same age. That led to a number of advertisers pulling from the show but MTV stuck with it and aired the entire first season with small editing of more explicit content.

At the end of the day, the show was just bad. Not only was it a poor carbon copy of the original but the actors cast in the US version were just really terrible. I do commend MTV for trying to import an amazingly cutting edge show like Skins to the US but our TV culture is just not as advanced as the TV culture in Europe. MTV knew that it could not just air the original series here so they tried to replicate it as best they could with a new cast … and sadly, it just didn’t work. I am really glad that the US version of Skins has been axed. It was painful to watch and it really did a disservice to the original series. I still suggest that those of you interested in the series seek out the original UK version of Skins and watch that instead. It’s an excellent show, one of my favorites actually. But this US version was just sad … I think it’s best for all concerned that it just go away and never be heard from again.

Movie Review: ‘Super 8′

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 01:52 PM PDT

Last night David and I attended the Hollywood premiere of Super 8 here in SoCal and were finally able to see the movie that everyone has been buzzing about for the better part of a year now. Leading up to last night’s premiere, I had heard a lot of great things about the film … some calling it the best Summer movie of the year — in many years. While I enjoyed the film very much, I wouldn’t go so far as to call it the best Summer film just yet. The movie is absolutely enterataining to watch and I know a great many people will love it but there were a few things that I just didn’t love. While I liked the movie, I can’t say that I absolutely loved the movie.

The best part of this film is the acting performances by the young ensemble cast, particularly Joel Courtney (who plays Joe Lamb) and Elle Fanning (who plays Alice Dainard). These young actors are just a joy to watch on screen. They each possess acting abilities far greater than their young ages suggest. I was really blown away by both performances … especially Joel Courtney‘s because he has never acted in anything before. Super 8 hearkens back to those films of the early 80′s (many of which were created by Super 8 producer Steven Spielberg) and really drives home that old skool feeling while infusing new, cutting edge technology and special FX. My complaint about the film is that while enjoyable, it’s not entirely creative. Super 8 feels like a mixture of Cloverfield, E.T. and Lost. There were elements along the way that reminded me so much of things I had seen before … things that came from previous JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg films. I don’t really want to say too much about the Cloverfield connection because I don’t want to spoil the film but … once you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about. As for the E.T. thing, well, it’s hard not to draw that comparison as the film nears the end. Like Lost, the film starts out with a lot of intrigue and mysteriousness … and then the payoff is not quite as satisfying as I would’ve liked. Still, it is a dream to have a movie that comes from the mind of 2 movie-making geniuses like Abrams and Spielberg. I will say that Super 8 definitely delivers a huge dose of entertianment value and it will likely be showered with heaps of praise. I absolutely liked it … it’s a film that I am very glad I got to see and would suggest that others see. Not every film has to be “the best film ever”. Super 8 is great … just not perfect.

A ‘Super’ Night Of Movie Fun

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 12:29 PM PDT

Last night David and I were invited to the Hollywood premiere of Super 8 which was held at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood, CA and we had an absolute blast! My full review of the film is forthcoming but I will let you know that David and I enjoyed the film. It had been a long time since David and I attended a red carpet event together so we really made sure to make the most of it.

We did attend the afterparty but only for a short while. I, unfortunately, gorged myself on popcorn during the movie and ended up not feeling very well by the end. We had to leave the shindig earlier than we would’ve liked because I really wasn’t good company for anyone. Still, I’m glad that David and I were able to use the Super 8 premiere as a fun date night :)

We don’t have any plans for tonight so … we’ll have to see what’s up. David and I have been trying to work out a hang session with our friends Emma and Josh so hopefully we can pull something together. I hope your Thursday is going well … can you believe it’s almost the weekend again?

P!nk & Carey Hart Take Newborn Willow Sage To The Beach

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 11:22 AM PDT

Last Friday P!nk and hubby Carey Hart welcomed the birth of their first born child Willow Sage and last Monday the proud new parents brought their bouncing baby girl home from the hospital. Mere moments after Willow Sage came home for the first time, P!nk and Carey bundled up their precious baby girl and took her out for her first visit to the beach! Click below for family photos of P!nk, Carey and Willow out in public together for the first time.

Pop rocker Pink didn’t waste time resting at home after giving birth to a baby girl. On Tuesday, June 7, just five days after welcoming Willow Sage Hart, the “So What” hitmaker went on a beach hike with the newborn and her husband Carey Hart, and first photos of them as a family have come out via X17Online. The pictures display the 31-year-old singer wearing workout gear and carrying a camera, while motocross husband toted around Willow in a brown baby sling. Of the outing, X17′s photographer said, “Pink looked so happy to be out of the house and to be on the beach. She loves nature and loves the ocean air and it seemed like an emotional time for them to introduce their baby to the world.”

LOVE this family. I have no doubt that not only will P!nk and Carey be great parents to Willow but they will also be very normal parents as well. I would bet good money that Willow Sage will be brought up in a home of love and acceptance and that she will be taught that she can be whatever she wants to be in life. Some new moms choose to keep their newborn babies inside, away from any potentional harm but it’s clear that P!nk will take a different stance on motherhood. I’m certain this beach outing is just the first of many outings to come. I wonder where the happy, newly expanded family will pop up next.

Adele Tells ‘Glamour’ Magazine That She Wants Prince Harry

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 11:03 AM PDT

Chanteuse Adele is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British Glamour magazine and in her coverstory interview, she reveals a celebrity crush … and not just any celebrity crush … a royal celebrity crush. Adele famously made it clear that she would “never date a ginger” (which is British slang for a red headed person) but in this new inteview, she amends that statement by clarifying that she would happily go after Prince Harry. Click below to read about Adele’s fondness for Harry and check out some photos from her Glamour photospread.

Adele has admitted to having a crush on Prince Harry, in the July issue of GLAMOUR. The cover girl, who has opened up about her private life, has revealed that she would like to marry the royal, saying: “I’m after Prince Harry. I know I said I wouldn’t go out with a ginger, but it’s Prince Harry! I’d be a real duchess then. I’d love a night out with him, he seems like a right laugh.” However, despite admitting to her famous crush, the Rolling In The Deep singer went on to explain how dating fellow celebrities can have its draw backs. She remarked: “I’ve been on a few dates with celebrities but I don’t like it. You go out and everyone looks at you both. I’m not going to say who. We go to really established places that know how to keep their fucking mouths shut. But then, everyone wants to fuck a celebrity so I wouldn’t trust them.” Nevertheless, the 23-year-old singer, who was recently named The Most Powerful Person In Music, insisted that she isn’t picky when it comes to choosing a man. Though, the Essex-born singing sensation did say that dating a toyboy was out the question: “I don’t have a type. Never have. Older, but not as in 50…Not younger than me. I’m pretty young so it would be like fucking Justin Bieber! Any colour. Any shape. But they’ve got to be funny.”

Ah … Adele … how I love thee. I can’t say I blame her at all for lusting after Prince Harry … the young prince is way hot. But, unlike Adele, I don’t see anything wrong with gingers at all. Red heads are hot, y’all. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. In any event, now we know what kind of man Adele usually goes for … homegirl likes an older man :)

Incidentally, tonight was the night that I was supposed to FINALLY see Adele in concert here in LA but due to issues with her voice (which I believe aren’t helped by the girl’s fondness for smoking cigarettes), she was forced to cancel the rest of her US tourdates. I understand that plans are in the works to reschedule her cancelled dates but … tonight, no Adele for me :( Ah well … here’s hoping she gets better soon and will be back to perform in the US sometime this Summer.

Blake Lively & Leonardo DiCaprio Continue Their Romantic Dalliance

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 10:40 AM PDT

Late last month we saw a couple of cheeky photos of actors Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio trying to make a sneaky walk of shame out of the same hotel in France after, apparently, spending the night together. Today we get to see new photos of the couple out and about in public lookin’ less shameful and a lot cuter. Blake and Leo were spotted holding hands in Monte Carlo a few weeks ago and more recently were spotted enjoying a lovely sight-seeing date together on the streets of Verona, Italy. I wouldn’t say that the couple have actually come out publicly with this new romance but they do seem to be more comfortable being seen in one another’s company.

[Blake Lively] excitedly took pictures around the historic town [of Verona], when the pair visited the ancient Roman ampitheatre. Lively laughed as she took pictures of her new beau in full thespian mode. And the new couple made sure to visit ‘Juliet’s House,’ the Dell Capello home which features the famous balcony and is thought to have been the home of the real family who inspired the story of the Capulets. Over the past few weeks, the pair have been seen in Cannes, Monaco and Portofino – enjoying a whirlwind of story-book dates. They were first spotted dining at Saint Paul de Vence in the south of France, before taking a Mercedes back to a yacht docked in Cannes. A week ago, they could be clearly seen hanging out with retail tycoon Sir Philip Green on his £32million Benetti superyacht Lionheart on the French Riviera. Lively and DiCaprio’s apparent romance comes after it emerged he had split from Israeli model Bar Rafaeli.

You know, if there is one thing to get your mind off the fact that the whole world is buzzing about nude photos REPORTEDLY of you, it would be a whirlwind new romance. Whether the couple are sneaking around trying not to be photographed or they are holding hands willy-nilly without a care in the world who sees them, it seems increasingly clear to me that something is developing between these two. Could Leo have finally found the one woman for him? It’s hard to tell … especially since he is newly split from his last girlfriend Bar Rafaeli. But if this kind of behavior continues … the couple might actually forge a real and lasting romantic relationship :D

‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ Releases A NSFW Poster

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 09:46 AM PDT

Earlier this month we got our first look at the International poster for the David Fincher-directed film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Today we get our first look at the domestic poster for the film and it is pretty NSFW. This poster is very similar to the poster we saw previously except for one difference … this newly released domestic poster features the bare breast of Lisbeth Salander (played by Rooney Mara). Check out the NSFW poster below.

Click the image above to see the larger, uncensored image. It’s clear that Sony Pictures are moving forward with a very aggressive advertising campaign for this film. It says a lot when a studio decides to allow nudity in advertising … particularly because being so bold with the American public is likely to draw criticism from extremists. I can already imagine what conservative critics will say when news of this poster gets out. Still, I am very happy to know that the movie studio is letting David Fincher make, promote and release the film HE wants to make. His recent stunning success with The Social Network has given him a bit of power and it looks like he is going to use that power to get away with as much as he can. The aggressiveness with which The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is being marketed bodes well, IMHO, for the film itself. I am dying to see Fincher‘s vision of Steig Larsson‘s story. If the poster for the film can be so bold, I can only imagine how bold the final film will be.

Watch: Shania Twain & Taylor Swift Do Their Best ‘Thelma & Louise’

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 08:57 AM PDT

Last night, to open the 2011 CMT Music Awards, Country music stars Shania Twain and Taylor Swift starred in a parody video that payed homage to the classic girl power film Thelma & Louise. Since Thelma & Louise is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year, the time seems perfect for a tribute like this. The clip also features appearances by Glee‘s Chord Overstreet, Kid Rock, Kenny Rogers and more! It’s a pretty cute clip, to be honest … check it out in full below.

Hahahaha … very cute. As you may recall, we learned yesterday that Shania Twain will be performing a 2-year concert residency in Las Vegas, NV at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino starting this December … that news, coupled with her reemergence with a new book and reality TV show means that she is serious about getting back into show business. This Thelma & Louise homage was a perfect way to kick off the CMT Music Awards last night. I am really looking forward to more offerings from Shania Twain, hopefully soon. Is this clip not the cutest thing ever?

Disney Announces A Release Date For ‘Lone Ranger’

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 08:16 AM PDT

Last month we learned that The Social Network star Armie Hammer would be starring as The Lone Ranger alongside Johnny Depp as Tonto in a new Disney remake of the classic film. Today we learn when that film is scheduled to be released in theaters. Disney has announced that Lone Ranger, directed by Gore Verbinski, will be released in December of 2012.

Disney will release Lone Ranger on December 21, 2012, giving the studio a big holiday entry in a crowding field. The film, directed by Gore Verbinski and starring Armie Hammer as the title character and Johnny Depp as Tonto, takes place in 1869. A Texas Ranger, left for dead, is saved by the Comanche Tonto, who gives his new partner the masked identity of Lone Ranger. Justin Haythe, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio wrote the script and Jerry Bruckheimer is producing. The film begins production later this year.

Deadline also reports that Lone Ranger will face some stiff competition at the box office in December 2012 as Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Ang Li‘s Life of Pi are also due for release in the same month. Altho I’ve never been a big fan of The Lone Ranger (or any cowboy shows/movies), I am really curious about this new production. As I understand it, this new version of the tale will put a new spin on the characters. I’m also really intrigued by the idea of Johnny Depp as the sidekick Tonto. I know that December 2012 sounds like a lifetime away but you just wait and see … we will be talking about the filming, promotion and release of Lone Ranger sooner than you think.

Watch: Britney Spears Talks To ‘Entertainment Tonight’ – Part 1

Posted: 09 Jun 2011 07:39 AM PDT

Yesterday we got a sneak peek at Britney Spears‘s new interview with Entertainment Tonight that was conducted on the top secret set of Britney‘s tour rehearsals for her upcoming Summer tour The Femme Fatale Tour. Today we get to check out part 1 of her ET interview in full and get a few more glimpses of what Brit‘s concert will look like. Check out below the full ET feature which aired last night.

The interview portion of this video is the same as the preview video we saw yesterday but this clip does add about a minute of extra tour rehearsal footage. With just a week to go until The Femme Fatale Tour kicks off in Sacramento, CA, this is the first footage of the show that we are getting. As much as I’d LOVE to see more, I’m going to do my best to keep away from any big tour spoilers (like setlists, tour surprises, etc.). As expected, ET will air another portion of their interview with Britney on tonight’s episode … this time, the focus will be on Britney and her sons on the road:

ET may show more tour rehearsal footage but my guess is that tonight’s segment will focus mainly on Britney talking about her boys. It should deffo be worth watching. The Femme Fatale Tour is coming your way, y’all … are you ready?
