Chris Evans Does GQ Magazine

Captain America: The First Avenger star Chris Evans is featured on the cover of the new issue of GQ magazine. In his coverstory interview, he reveals that he initially did not want to play Captain America. In fact, he turned down the role a “bunch” of times. Eventually, he agreed and, well, next month we’ll see if it was the right decision. Click below to check out Chris‘s GQ coverphoto and read some excerpts from his GQ interview .

On getting over his initial reluctance to take on the role of Captain America: "I said no a bunch, and every time I said no, I woke up the next morning so happy and content. I kept saying no; they kept coming back. And eventually I was like, 'You know what? This is your biggest fear—this is exactly what you have to do.' "

On his character in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: "The character's supposed to be this horrible actor and a douchebag, and I get the job and so many people were like, 'You're perfect, you're gonna crush it!' " he continued with feigned anger. "I was like, So I got this role as an asshole actor, and you guys think I nailed it? That I'm a natural and that nobody in town can do it better?"

On how seeing sunsets are the "happiest" times in his life: "The point is that when I see a sunset or a waterfall or something, for a split second it's so great, because for a little bit I'm out of my brain, and it's got nothing to do with me. I'm not trying to figure it out, you know what I mean? And I wonder if I can somehow find a way to maintain that mind stillness."

This GQ interview is … interesting … because the interviewer, Edith Zimmerman, ended up having a romantic but drunken fraternization with Chris as she was interviewing him for this piece. Lindsay Lohan Poses For The NoH8 Campaign

Yesterday we saw photos from Lindsay Lohan‘s House Arrest House Party that took place at her beachfront home over the weekend but today we learn that she is being more fruitful with her House Arrest time. Lindsay invited the folks from the NoH8 Campaign into her home so she could pose for a NoH8 photo. L. Lo posted a short video from the shoot on her official Twitter profile, which you can watch in full below.


I must confess, I am pleased to see that Lindsay is — at the very least — doing some good with her time:


Instead of posing for cheesy paparazzi photos (for sale), staged endorsement photos for electronic cigarettes or hosting lavish parties, she is actually doing something positive for the GLBT community. At the very least, I can give her props for this endeavor … cuz we know she is doing it out of the goodness of her heart … right?

Madonna Will Begin Recording Her New Album Next Month

Back in February, Madonna‘s manager Guy Oseary (who is, essentially, her official mouthpiece on Twitter) announced that Maddy was getting ready to get back into the recording studio to begin work on her next album. At that time, tho, Oseary made it clear that she was still selecting songs to record and that she wasn’t quite ready to begin recording. Today, Guy posted a new tweet that announced that Madonna WILL begin recording her new album next month.


Woot!! This is fantastic news. Now, if they work really quickly, it’s feasible that Madonna‘s next album could be released by the end of this year … but I find that highly unlikely. Any new music prolly won’t come out until next year … but, then again, maybe we’ll get a first single at the tail end of 2011? Honestly, it doesn’t matter … I can wait. At least we know now that Madonna will officially begin work on her new album next month … that is the best news I’ve heard all day long!

Selena Gomez Returns To The Performance Stage

Last week we learned that popstarlet Selena Gomez was hospitalized after she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno due to symptoms of strong headaches and nausea. Today we get to see photos of the recuperated Gomez back on the performance stage in Santa Monica, CA. At her schedled concert perfomrance at the Santa Monica Place Mall, Gomez revealed that it was malnourishment and fatigue that led to her hospitalization. Homegirl looked GREAT on stage tho … check out the photos below.

Selena Gomez appears to be on the mend, taking the stage Monday for a Santa Monica Place show that had to be rescheduled from Friday due to her hospitalization. “I want to thank you so much for coming,” Gomez, 18, told more than 500 young fans at the outdoor mall. “If you guys came on Friday, I’m so sorry that I couldn’t be here. … I love you guys very much.” Asked by reporters for the cause of her hospitalization, she said, “I was just very malnourished, so I was low on iron and exhausted.” Showing no signs of those health problems, an energetic Gomez performed “Who Says” and “A Year Without Rain” and bantered with the crowd, telling the fans, “I do feel better!”

Awww … she’s a doll. Well, at least now we know what caused her recent illness … hopefully the little miss will eat better and rest more to keep from having to go to the hospital again. Gomez has a LOT of work ahead of her to coincide with the release of her new album When the Sun Goes Down. Here’s hoping she takes better care of herself in the days and weeks to come.

Spotted! Leighton Meester Performing At The Troubadour

Last night Darion, his friends Courtney, Chris, Christina and I met up at The Troubadour to see Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester LIVE in concert. After collaborating with Cobra Starship on the single Good Girls Gone Bad and after her starring role in Country Strong (where she played a singer), it sounds like Leighton is ready to emabark on a music career. As I understand it, Leighton has been working with the band Check in the Dark on new music and last night she performed her first concert here in LA. I have to be completely honest here … the show wasn’t as strong as it could’ve been. Leighton seemed a bit nervous on stage, as she should be considering it was her first concert performance, but she really gave it her all. I commend her for following her dreams and doing the music thing. Not only has seen been writing new music with her band but she’s also, apparently, learning to play guitar as well:


While the music was a bit too Country for my tastes, I did enjoy seeing Leighton in action. If she is serious about her music, it can only get better. Here is video of her performance of the song Dreaming from last night’s show:


As far as I could tell, the sold out house was very happy with her performance. Leighton got a bit of support from her Gossip Girl co-star Michelle Trachtenberg (who plays Georgina Sparks on GG) who came out for the show last night. All in all … it was a fun night out.

Tonight, David and I will be making our way to the Gibson Amphitheater to see Janelle Monáe and Bruno Mars in concert. We’re really only going for Janelle but we may stick around for Bruno, too ;) Happy Tuesday!!

85 year old Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner was supposed to get married to his 24 year old fiancée Crystal Harris this weekend but according to a new report from TMZ, the couple have decided to call off their wedding just 5 days before they were to say their I Dos! According to the site, Hugh and Crystal got into a nasty argument over the phone … and Crystal decided to call off the wedding! Read below for all the known deets.

Hugh Hefner’s fiancee Crystal Harris is a real-life runaway bride — 5 days before walking down the aisle … she bailed out of the Playboy Mansion and multiple sources say the wedding is off! Our sources — who are all at the mansion — say Crystal and Hef had a nasty argument this weekend on the phone. When the dust settled Crystal decided to 86 the nuptials and quickly moved her stuff out. The wedding was supposed to go down Saturday. This would have been Hef’s, umm … third marriage.

Wow!! It must’ve been some argument for Crystal Harris to call off her wedding to Hugh Hefner! Damn … I wonder what on Earth could’ve caused her make such a drastic decision? She not only called off the wedding … she moved the eff out of the Playboy Mansion? Yeah, it does not sound like the couples nuptials will be postponed or anything … this sounds pretty serious. You may recall that Hugh and Crystal got engaged last Xmas and just this past May we got to see what their wedding invitation looks like. I guess those invitations are now collectors’ items … cuz the wedding of Hugh and Crystal sounds pretty damn dunzo. Yikes!

UPDATE: Hugh Hefner has confirmed the news on Twitter that his wedding to Crystal Harris this weekend has been canceled:

Mildred Baena, the housekeeper who had an illegitimate child with former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger while he was still married to wife Maria Shriver, is breaking her silence for the first time since news of her affair with Arnold came to light last month. Baena sat down with Hello! magazine to tell her side of the story … and, inexpicably, she posed for the magazine with her son with Schwarzenegger! When it was revealed that Arnold Schwarzenegger had a 13-year-old child with a trusted member of the family's domestic staff, the world let out a collective gasp. The mother, housekeeper Mildred Baena, has since been in hiding. But with fictitious stories circulating in the media, she has decided to set the record straight, and is giving what will be her first and only interview exclusively to HELLO! magazine. She is joined by the other protagonist in this distressing drama, son Joseph, who has dealt with the events of the past few weeks with a maturity way beyond his years. When his grandmother sat him down one year ago to explain that Arnold Schwarzenegger was his father, he exclaimed: "Cool!". And his mother said the young boy is looking forward to building a relationship with the former Hollywood star. Guatelaman-born Mildred revealed that she realised the truth once her son started to resemble the former Governor of California. "It was as Joseph grew and I started to see the resemblance that I wondered – but It became more apparent as time went on," she said. "I knew Arnold was the father, and maybe as Joseph got older and began to look like him, he [Arnold] wondered. But he never said anything to me." She also revealed that Marie Shriver, Arnold's now ex-wife, had started to put two and two together when she heard whispers in the household about the pair’s similarity. "She would say things like, "I'm here if you need to talk." I sensed something was up. I have so much love and respect for Maria. "Finally, she asked point blank." But it was Maria's actions that shocked Mildred. "She was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn't Arnie's fault, that it takes two." Finally, she expressed her sympathy for Arnold and what he must be going through: "He's a good man and I know he's suffering too. He loves Maria. I hope with time they work things out."

Wow. Well, I can’t say that I’m at all surprised that Baena decided to sell her story … it is deffo worth a small fortune. But I am absolutely disgusted that she decided to pose WITH her son for the magazine. I will not feature that poor boy’s photo because I feel it is very exploitative. My guess is that the fee that Baena was paid went up exponentially if she agreed to let her son be photographed with her. It’s kinda gross to hear her talk about how she cried with Maria Shriver over the news that she bore Arnold‘s lovechild … the whole sordid affair is just gross. But, at least we now get to hear the other woman’s side of the story. Are you impressed with her candor?

‘The Avengers’ Releases A Cartoony New Promo Poster

Earlier this month we got to check out a teaser logo poster for the 2012 film The Avengers which was spotted at the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, NV. Today we get to check out another Avengers poster, also unveiled at the Expo, but this poster shows the actual Avengers characters in action. But, as you can see below, the characters look more cartoony than live action. Check it out.

It features all the heroes together … Directed by Joss Whedon, the anticipated Marvel Studios film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård. The movie hits theaters on May 4, 2012.

Now, we’ve already seen Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in their superhero costumes but this poster gives us our first look at Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) in costume. I much prefer this poster to the teaser poster we saw previously. It’s kinda cool to see all of the heroes assembled for action. What do y’all think? Do you like this poster?

First Look: Christina Aguilera Covers The New Issue Of ‘W’ Magazine

Yesterday we saw photos of Beyoncé in the pages of the new issue of W magazine and today we get to see fellow popstar Christina Aguilera ON the cover of the magazine. Subscribers have been recieving early copies of the mag and a photo of Xtina on the cover has made its way to the Internets. The official magazine website has yet to be updated with this new issue but you can click below to get your first look at Xtina on the cover of W.


Can I just tell you how much I LOVE it when Xtina does NOT wear her beloved garish red lipstick? She looks so much better when her make-up is soft and less severe. I can’t say I’m crazy about the frizzy hair but it’s a fun magazine look, I think. Xtina is no stranger to baring her body on and in magazines so I’m not surprised by the tone of this coverphoto … in fact, I kinda like it. You will note that Xtina has a bouquet of flowers covering her crotch region … which, apparently, is where women have to put flowers when they pose with them. I’m intrigued by this first look at Xtina in W magazine … I can’t wait to see more. What do y’all think?

First Look: ‘The Three Stooges’ Movie Films In Atlanta, GA

Filming production has begun in Atlanta, GA on the film adaptation of the classic comedy trio The Three Stooges and today we get our FIRST LOOK at the first photo from the set. The big screen version of The Three Stooges has been talked about for decades and, at long last, the film is finally in production. Click below to see a photo of Will & Grace star Sean Hayes as Larry and MadTV star Will Sasso as Curly on the Atlanta set of the Stooges film.

“The Three Stooges” were never what you’d call highbrow. But who the heck cares? The characters remain enduring symbols of slapstick comedy. Now, after many delays, the Farrelly brothers are making a “Stooges” film with three relative unknowns in the title roles. On-set pictures of the actors lit up the Web as folks got their first glimpse of Curly in costume. Played by Will Sasso, perhaps best known for his work on “MADtv,” Curly has always been a popular stooge (we mean that as a compliment). His phrase “nyuk-nyuk-nyuk” and his tendency to slap his own head have been imitated by countless comedians. So how does Sasso look? Longtime fans of the character will be relieved to see that Sasso is the spitting image of the original Curly, played by the late, great Jerry Horwitz. Only time will tell if Sasso “acts” like Curly, but there can be no doubt that he looks the part. A post from Screen Rant agrees, after seeing the snapshots: “From some of the close-ups, it looks like the Farrelly brothers and their team have done a nice job.” A commenter on the Entertainment Weekly’s Inside Movies blog had some reservations of style winning over substance: “Hmmm he's got the look down but that is just window dressing, what really counts is if he can actually act like Curly.” Others gave the casting choice a thumb’s up: “Will Sasso was hilarious over many seasons on MAD TV – he is funny and fearless.” Another added, “This is pitch-perfect casting.” A third added, and we quote, “Will Sasso to us MadTV fans is the shiznizle!. Can’t wait to see him knock it out of the park!”

HMMMM … naturally, I have my reservations about this Three Stooges movie. The Three Stooges is about as classic as it gets when it comes to comedy. They are as sacred in Hollywood, IMHO, as Charlie Chaplin and should be treated as such. I do trust that the Farrelly brothers know what they are doing and if anyone can do the Stooges justice, it’s the Farrallys. I am a bit concerned about the casting but, then again, who alive today could truly do the Stooges characters justice? I guess we’ll have to have faith that the Farrellys chose well when they cast these characters. IMDB reports tha 24 actor Chris Diamantopoulos will play the third (and leader) stooge Moe but I’ve yet to see photos of him on set. What do y’all think of this Three Stooges movie? Is this something that you’d like to see? Do you think there is room for classic slap-stick comedy in today’s world of Entertainment?
