David Beckham Plays With His Family, Then With The LA Galaxy

David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham have finally been reunited now that Vicki B. is back in SoCal from her extended stay in NYC for New York Fashion Week. First thing on the Les Beckhams agenda was to spend a lovely but casual afternoon with the kids:

Yeah, I want the job of the guy who gets to rub David Beckham‘s thighs … how do I apply for that profession? Unfortch for Becks and the Galaxy, the team lost to DC United by a score of 2 – 1. But, any game where Becks gets to suit up so that he can strip down at game’s end is a winner in my book. Wee!

Gone ‘Fish’in’

Originally the plan for yesterday afternoon was to get a bunch of folks together for a fun game of Laser Tag in early celebration of David’s birthday (which is tomorrow) … unfortch, David wasn’t feeling too well and we decided to push off the Laser Tag until next Saturday. Fortunately, tho, David was feeling up for seeing a movie last night so we met up with Emma and Josh and went to the ArcLight in Hollywood to see “the other Facebook“ movie titled Catfish:


Before seeing the movie last night, I had only seen the trailer for the film once … and it creeped me out entirely. I have to say, I think the film works best if you go in seeing it without knowing too much about the plot. Here is the trailer for Catfish so you can judge for yourselves:


I liked the film, mostly, but there were parts of the film that are still bugging me the morning after. If you’ve seen the film or don’t mind having the plotline kinda spoiled, you can read my review after the jump …

As you can see, the trailer makes you THINK that something shocking and possibly scary is going to occur … when, in fact, neither is the case. I’m not willing to say what exactly happens but I will say that I found the movie trailer wholly misleading. I went in expecting one movie and ended up getting another. With that said, I enjoyed the movie that was presented … but I really couldn’t shake the idea of the movie that I really wanted to see. This is one of those movies that is meant to look real but is not really … a convention used in films like The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, Paranormal Activity and others. In this instance, the “truth” presented in the film is meant to be disturbing because of its plausibility (tho, I must confess, that I do NOT believe that this film is 100% genuine in its contention that it is a documentary). David really loved the film, I merely liked it. It’s deffo a movie I’d recommend seeing — especially for the excellent commentary on how people can get totally wrapped up in virtual friendships online — but I’m telling you, it’s not exactly the movie you’d expect to see judging from the movie trailer.

After the film, Emma and Josh presented David with a box of gourmet chocolates which he loved entirely:


Then we decided to swing by FUBAR for a casual drink … little did we know that it was Hardcore Gay Porn on every Video Screen Night so we went to O Bar instead for a more quiet, less porny night.

This afternoon, the four of us are heading to Dodger Stadium to see the Dodgers take on the Colorado Rockies … it’s a beautifully sunny day so it should be a blast!

While Bernardo actually shows his love for a few different sports in THIS particular photoshoot, I chose this photo in honor of the LA Dodgers baseball game that David and I are attending this afternoon. While it would’ve been nice of Bernardo to show off his baseball bat, I guess I don’t mind that he’s showing off his baseball glove instead. After all, the guys got to keep his baseballs covered somehow ;) Enjoy!!

Prince William Successfully Becomes A Search & Rescue Pilot

Congratulations are in order for Prince William of Wales because this week the young prince successfully graduated from his military training course to become a certified Search & Rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force. Here are a few photos of Prince Wills piloting his Search & Rescue helicopter and posing with his fellow course graduates on Friday:

Prince William will on Friday become a fully-fledged RAF search-and-rescue pilot after passing a 19-month training course. The prince, known in the force as Flight Lieutenant William Wales, will be based for the next three years at RAF Valley on Anglessey, where his course was conducted. The newly qualified pilot will carry out rescue missions potentially all over the country in a Seaking helicopter after completing 70 hours of live flying and 50 hours of simulator training. “The course has been challenging, but I have enjoyed it immensely,” the prince said. “I am really delighted to have completed the training course with my fellow students. “I absolutely love flying, so it will be an honour to serve operationally with the search and rescue force, helping to provide such a vital emergency service,” he added. As part of his training the prince participated in mock rescue operations over the Irish Sea and in the mountains of Snowdonia. The RAF [awarded] certificates and squadron badges to the prince and his fellow graduates at the informal 10:00 am ceremony. The RAF has warned anyone tempted to make a bogus emergency call — in the hope of seeing the prince — that they will be presented with a considerable bill to cover the call out costs.

LMAO!!!! I LOVE that the British Air Force has to issue a stern warning cautioning folks that they will be punished for making bogus emergency calls in the hopes of being rescued by Prince William. I know it sounds totally insane but I bet there are a few crazies out there who would actually do such a thing in an attempt to get up close and personal with the prince. But I digress … let’s send our heartiest congrats to Prince Wills on his latest accomplishment. Homeboy is putting quite a few feathers in his cap on his way to becoming the King of the United Kingdom.

Bradley Cooper Enjoys A Date With Renée Zellweger . . . And Her Parents

Back in January of this year we learned that actress Renée Zellweger got herself into a bit of a car accident and her beau and fellow actor Bradley Cooper rusher to her aid … like a good boyfriend should. Today we get to see new photos of Bradlée that show that Bradley continues to play the dutiful boyfriend even now … as the couple were spotted out on the town together with Renée‘s parents Emil and Kjellfried here in SoCal:


Dude, he’s hanging out with her parents? Oh yeah, things appear to have gotten really serious in the past few months. Could these two actually be headed for the altar? I mean, like, for real? In all honesty, I just cannot understand how Bradley and Renée have stayed together for so long. We never see them out in public together … then again, maybe that’s the secret of their success? Well, whether they get hitched or not … hanging out with the parents is a pretty big deal I think. Do you think these two are in it for the long haul?

White Hot Britney Spears Enjoys An Ice Cream Cone

On Friday we saw a few kinda cute photos of Britney Spears with her sons enjoying a shopping day at the mall … the only thing that wasn’t cute in those photos was our dear Britney‘s mismatched outfit. Today we get to see new photos of Britney, out and about sans children, rockin’ a much cuter outfit which she wore to grab some ice cream:


Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about … Britney looks much better in these photos. Honestly tho, bad outfit or not, I’m just so thrilled to see Britney looking so well … and for such a long time now. With Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton reverting to their trainwrecky, wild and criminal ways it’s nice to see that Britney Spears is the normalized, successful one. I just love this woman :D

Paris Hilton Plea Bargains Her Way Out Of Jail

Last month we learned that Paris Hilton got herself arrested and charged with cocaine possession while she was partying with her boyfriend Cy Waits in Las Vegas, NV. Since that time, Paris has been spotted vacationing her blues away in Hawaii while she awaited the outcome of the criminal case against her. Well, it turns out that there will no longer be a criminal case against her because her lawyers managed to plea bargain her crime down to a misdemeanor … meaning she will get off with only a slap on the wrists:

Celebrity socialite Paris Hilton has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanors in her pending drug possession case, netting her a year of probation but no jail time. Hilton is scheduled to formally plead guilty Monday to misdemeanor drug possession and misdemeanor obstructing an officer before Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure. The 29-year-old was arrested late on Aug. 27 on one felony count of cocaine possession after she opened a Chanel flap bag to get some lip balm and a small plastic bag of cocaine fell out, landing in the palm of a Las Vegas police lieutenant. The original felony charge would not have resulted in any jail time. By statute a conviction for felony cocaine possession requires mandatory probation. According to the plea agreement obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, two consecutive six-month sentences in the Clark County Detention Center will be suspended and Hilton will be placed on year long probation. If Hilton is arrested during her probation, she will have to serve a full year in jail, according to the plea deal. “Defendant shall stay out of trouble. Defendant agrees that an arrest for any charge, excluding minor traffic violations for which a citation is issued, shall result in the immediate termination of her probation and the execution of the suspended sentences,” the plea deal states. A minor traffic violation is anything other than a reckless driving or driving under the influence charge. Hilton must also successfully complete a substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service, according to the plea deal. The nature and location of the community service will be determined later. Clark County District Attorney David Roger said, “We fashioned a resolution which would give us complete control over her future. If she does not toe the line and stay out of trouble she will do one year in the Clark County Detention Center.” Most other defendants would not have a year of jail hanging over their heads for being arrested, Roger said. Normally a conviction would be necessary. “There are very strict limits on her future conduct. We will not have to litigate whether she was convicted of the charge or whether the charge was a major or minor offense,” Roger said. Roger said prison time was not an option because of the limitations on the charge by statute, and that Hilton won’t get special treatment. She will have to walk through the front doors of the courthouse “just like any other criminal defendant,” he said. David Chesnoff, the attorney representing the hotel heiress, could not be reached for comment Friday.

HMMM … I suppose that while Paris is getting off with a slap on the wrists now, she will really be punished if she gets arrested in the coming year. I cannot think of a more successful deterrent than the promise of jailtime for just one arrest. Will Paris learn how to behave and manage to keep herself out of trubs long enough to avoid serving another jail sentence … I guess we shall see.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s New Film ‘Love And Other Drugs’ Releases A Sexy New Poster

Some of you may recall that in December of 2009, Jake Gyllenhaal paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live so that he could do some promo for his film Brothers. During that interview, Jake revealed that he would be "baring almost all" in the film he was working on at the time titled Love and Other Drugs. Today, we get to check out the just released movie poster for the film Love and Other Drugs which pairs Jake with his Brokeback Mountain co-star Anne Hathaway:


To be honest, the sight of Jake wearing nothing but a pillow is enough to put a smile on my face any day of the week. Love and Other Drugs tells the tale of a pharmaceutical salesman, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who is a horrible ladies man cad who manages to fall desperately in love with Anne Hathaway‘s character … blah blah blah. As much as I love me some Jake, the movie trailer for this film didn’t really grab me very much … so I’m counting on Jake‘s acting prowess to really do the trick for me. This has to be one of the sexiest movie posters to feature Jake Gyllenhaal I have ever seen … I CAN’T WAIT to see how much more we’ll get to see in the actual film … on the big screen … in motion. After all, Jake himself does promise that he “bears almost all” in the flick. Thank you sweet baby Jebus for this, thy bounty.
