‘Paranormal Activity 2’ Releases A New Viral Video

Back in June we got our first look at the first trailer for the upcoming sequel film Paranormal Activity 2 … today we learn that folks in the promo department for PA2 have unleashed a new viral video for the film in a very clever way. Here are a few screencaps from this new vid and an explanation from Bloody Disgusting that explains how the video was delivered:

There’s nothing more unsettling than coming home to see a strange package sitting at your door. No postage, just a return address. Opening with caution, inside I discovered a USB flash drive. What would happen when I plugged it into my computer? Was it a virus? Was it a blackmail letter accompanied by a bunch of photos of me gorging myself on peanut butter and Oreos? Nope, it was a viral video that’s clearly from Paramount Pictures’ Paranormal Activity 2 featuring a baby, a girl and a uber-creepy demon/ghost in one single frame. Scanning the video it became obvious to me that there are clues hiding within; so go forth, watch the video, and then post your discoveries below. It’s also worth noting that the return address was 40 University Dr, Rindge, NH 03461 — Franklin Pierce University. Any ideas? The file name was “FMLY4_01-21-58.mov” and the craziness occurs at 01:22:01AM. Maybe that’s a clue?

The clip is very short but it does give us a glimpse at what we can expect when Paranormal Activity 2 hits theaters in just a few weeks. After the jump, check out the vid and see for yourselves …


It appears that while the first film, Paranormal Activity, relied on building suspense this sequel will offer much more scariness in order to keep us interested. I’ve always been freaked out by kids in horror films … I’m thinkin’ this convention is going to be used here in Paranormal 2. I loved the first film, I really hope I will love the follow-up. I know this clip is very short but does it pique your interest? Are you skerred?

The Return Of The Super Friends

OMG … last night was the Best.Night.Ever. After a group of friends and I had a blast at Six Flags Magic Mountain for their annual GLBT private party Out on the Mountain, we managed to cull together a bigger group of folks to come out and play on the roller coasters for this year’s event … and we had an absolute blast!


Our group of friends managed to grow larger as the night progressed but, honestly, it was really the more the merrier. We managed to ride all of the best roller coasters last night and had the best time ever. We also took a lot more photos this year — which you can check out out, after the jump …


David and I had so much fun playing with our friends, like we normally do, but we really enjoyed seeing how much fun everyone else in the park was having. Because Six Flags closes down for only the GLBT community and their friends, there were so many young gay couples who were free to hold hands, hug and kiss openly and without fear of reprisal from anyone. It’s a rare situation where gays are in a completely safe environment to play and be affectionate in public without having to worry about heckling or even violence from others … it just makes for a very special night. My hat is off to the folks at Six Flags for continuing to offer this special night of the year … I am very happy to support their endeavors … and I cannot WAIT for next year’s event :D

I’m not sure what the plan is for today … there are a couple options on the table but, to be honest, I might just spend the evening reading. Ah, weekend … how shall I enjoy you?

Our Dear Britney Spears Is A Paragon Among Hollywood ‘It’ Girls

Amid all the insane craziness from Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, her Hollywood “It” Girl compatriots, I would just like to call all y’alls attention to the fact that our dear Britney Spears spent her week completely out of trouble … lookin’ good all the while:


In fact, while Paris was bizzy getting expunged from Japan and Lindsay was bizzy getting arrested, booked, jailed and bailed out again, Britney was bizzy prepping for the release of her next project and we’ve been bizzy prepping for the famed Britney Spears Episode on Glee next Tuesday. It wasn’t that long ago that the tables were turned (well, honestly, Paris and Lindsay have always been trainwrecks) so BELIEVE ME, it thrills me to no end to be able to say nothing but positive things about our dear Britney Spears :D

Mariah Carey Makes Her Way To Singapore

Mariah Carey, who has begun promoting the release of her new Xmas album titled Merry Christmas II You in recent days, has made her way to Singapore ahead of her performance there for the LG Live at 2010 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix tomorrow. Curiously, Mimi traveled from the US to Singapore in a long, brown, flowy dress that I seem to recall she wore previously:


When the latest pregnancy rumors about Mimi heated up last month, she was spotted wearing a dress that looked an awful lot like a very popular brand of maternity wear. It looks to me that she is wearing that same dress in these new photos taken earlier today in Singapore. Now, as a long time MC watcher, I don’t recall very many occasions where Mariah Carey was spotted out in public wearing the same dress twice … so it seems oddly suspicious that she would wear this fairly plain maternity wear-like dress in public for a second time. Perhaps she chose the dress because it is more comfortable for flying … but perhaps, just maybe, she wore it for another reason. HMMMM.

In any event, Mimi will be performing at the Grand Prix tomorrow so I’m sure we’ll be seeing more photos of MC in Singapore … hopefully, she’ll be wearing something else.

Who Wants A Deréon Tattoo Designed By Beyoncé?

Beyoncé Knowles has music for sale, clothing for sale, fragrances for sale and gives away her fierceness for free … but today we learn that she has another product available for sale for interested consumers. So what, pray tell, does a woman have to offer that she doesn’t already make available in her vast product empire? Why, temporary tattoos, of course:

After effortlessly pulling off a stylish motorcycle maven in her fall/winter 2010 Deréon ad campaign, Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles have decided to add temporary tattoos to the sportswear collection. "We decided to invite Temptu to help us create custom body art for her to model with our fashions," Tina Knowles, Deréon's founder, designer and creative director, told WWD. "The resulting images were so strong that we realized consumers might want to re-create the tattoos themselves." On Nov. 1, Deréon and airbrush makeup firm Temptu will release a limited edition collection of both basic and deluxe temporary tattoos to adorn and toughen up your look. The waterproof tattoos will be offered in Deréon's signature fleur icon and in chains, spider designs, rocker bolts and jewel baubles-giving you a two to five-day edge. The $16-basic kit has eight tattoos and all the pieces needed to affix the designs on your skin, while the online-only deluxe kit will retail for $34 and includes a signed photo of Beyoncé as well as a chance to win a trip to New York.

I have to admit, after seeing THESE promo photos for the new Deréon collection, I was sure we’d be seeing those temporary tattoos again. My assumption was that Beyoncé herself would be wearing them at every turn … it didn’t really occur to me that she would slap a price tag on them and sell them to her fans. It’s brilliant really … even if the tattoos aren’t big sellers, they can call the offering “limited edition” and sell as much or as little as they like … it’s all extra money anyways. I can’t honestly believe that women of any style and substance would purposely choose to wear these tacky tattoos … but I expect the gays will be rockin’ them in force once they become available at dereon.com. So … I have to ask … would any of y’all wear these temporary tattoos?

Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad Announces Her Return To Reality TV

Lauren LC Conrad, the girl who found fame and fortune on the MTV reality TV series shows Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills, has announced that she will be making her return to reality TV on the network that made her a star. As you may recall, LC bowed out of appearing on the final season of The Hills to focus on other projects but after a couple years off she is now ready to step back into the reality TV limelight:

Former “Hills” star Lauren Conrad is set to return to the network that made her famous for a new reality project, The Hollywood Reporter confirms exclusively. Conrad, 24, will be the focus of a documentary-style reality series for MTV following the budding fashion designer as she creates a line of evening wear and builds a fashion house — from the ground up. “I’m so excited to take on this new project that really focuses on my true passion,” Conrad tells THR. “I’m happy to be partnering with MTV because I have had such an amazing relationship with them and love being a part of the network.” Berman Braun will be producing the new reality series. “We are thrilled to be in business with a terrific young entrepreneur like Lauren,” Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun of Berman Braun say in a statement to THR. “It will be a lot of fun to be exploring her new work adventure with her.” “We are so excited to be working with Lauren again,” Tony DiSanto, president of programming at MTV, tells THR. “She is family we are very proud of her. When we shot the test tape for Laguna Beach she was 17 now she’s a mogul.” With the third installment of her teen novel series due out next month, the N.Y. Times best-selling author has already established herself in the fashion world with the Lauren Conrad collection that debuted at L.A. Fashion Week in March 2008 and launched line of casual wear with Kohl’s department stores in 2009.

It makes perfect sense that LC would return to MTV with a new reality series, after all, they are the network that really helped her form her career. I’m certain MTV was very interested in working with LC again, after all, she is the young girl whose squeaky clean image allowed them to make a whole lotta money. My guess is that this new deal is a very lucrative one for LC. She prolly had offers from many networks so MTV must’ve paid a very pretty penny to lure her back to their network. I’m not sure how interested I would be in watching this new show but I can see how young girls everywhere might find value in seeing a show about how a positive lifestyle can lead to success. In a world where Lindsay Lohan‘s criminal behavior dominates the airwaves, I can see how a show focused on LC‘s success — earned in a very positive manner — might be a breath of fresh air. Lindsay Lohan Freed On Appeal, Bail Granted

Despite the best efforts of Judge Elden Fox to try and exert his judicial powers by attempting to force Lindsay Lohan to endure a 30 day jail sentence by remanding her to jail without bail on a misdemeanor charge, Appeals Judge Patricia Schnegg has overturned Judge Fox‘s ruling and ordered that Lindsay MUST be allowed to post bail for her misdemeanor infraction. As a result, just hours after L. Lo was processed, booked and mug shot at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA yesterday morning, Lindsay Lohan was freed on bail late last night:


Judge Schnegg ruled that, “as a matter of right”, Lindsay must be afforded the same opportunity to post bail on a misdemeanor charge and (10% of) $300,000. later she is, once again a free woman:


Lindsay‘s horribly enabling mother Dina Lohan was on hand to collect her daughter from jail late last night and decided to treat L. Lo to a late night dinner as soon as she got sprung. Check out those photos, after the jump …


Now that Lindsay is free, again, she must once again wear a court-ordered alcohol-monitoring SCRAM bracelet and will be required — again — to refrain from drinking and must — again — submit to random drug testing. Tho, if yesterday’s shenanigans are any indication, there is no real inhibitor to keep Lindsay from drinking or taking whatever the Hell she wants … as long as she can pay her way out of jail, she’s pretty much got free reign. On the plus side, tho, yesterday’s jail stint was her second longest because as you may recall, she was only jailed for about 84 minutes the first time she was incarcerated back in 2007. Lindsay will still have to return to court on October 22 to face Judge Fox again … and very well could be arrested and thrown back in jail — again. But if I were the Teflon Girl like Lindsay Lohan, I wouldn’t sweat it for one second. The girl seems unincarcerateable. Let’s hope this uncanny ability to avoid punishment won’t lead to her early demise.
