Conan‘s new show Conan is going to rule … I just know it. I hope we won’t have to wait very long to see at least some of the 1,200 photos that were snapped at this photoshoot. Which poses are your faves? I have to say … I’m kinda a sucker for men and pipes.
MICHAEL C. HALL plays a character who has, by his own count, murdered more than 60 people. He has also done battle, in a kind of Ultimate Serial Killing Championship, with a succession of bloodthirsty adversaries, one of whom turned out to be his own brother. So when Mr. Hall announced in January that he was undergoing chemotherapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma — shortly before accepting trophies in January at the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild award ceremonies wearing a knit cap on his bald head — it was hard not to feel a shiver at the coincidence: the star of the Showtime series "Dexter," the most death-obsessed show on television, contracting a potentially fatal disease at 38. For Mr. Hall, though, any resonance between television and real life was trivial. There was another parallel that struck much closer to home: his father's death from prostate cancer at 39. "I think I've been preoccupied since I was 11, and my father died, with the idea of the age 39: Would I live that long? What would that be like?" Mr. Hall said last month, over breakfast at a restaurant off Los Feliz Boulevard. "To discover that I had the Hodgkin's was alarming, but at the same time I felt kind of bemused, like: Wow. Huh. How interesting." Mr. Hall received his diagnosis while Season 4 of "Dexter" was still being shot, and his calm, studied approach included keeping his condition a secret on the set until production had wrapped. He began treatment the next day, and the cancer is now in remission. (He turned 39 in February.) Production on Season 5 was in full swing when we spoke; his illness had caused no changes in the "Dexter" schedule, and he had even managed to shoot a movie, "East Fifth Bliss," in the East Village during the show's hiatus. His hair had grown back, and the only possible sign of concern for health was his breakfast order: a lonely cup of chamomile tea. If anything, he said, he felt an extra energy after the effects of the chemotherapy wore off. That could come in handy in the new season, which begins next Sunday night. Dexter Morgan, police forensics expert by day and avenging-angel serial killer by night, will be going through some big changes.

"Obviously the fourth season recalibrated everything," Mr. Hall said. "Everything we'd seen him build up is now gone. It was sad to see Julie Benz go and leave the 'Dexter' family, but from an acting standpoint, creatively, it's really been invigorating to have him so completely decimated." … "I think as far as the emergence of the adversary, the big bad if you will, that form may have been perfected last season," Mr. Hall said, "I think there was a desire to move beyond, to break that mold." The biggest name joining the cast this season is the actress Julia Stiles, and while not much has been revealed about her character, it appears that she won't be a thoroughgoing killer in the mold of Mr. Lithgow's Trinity or Christian Camargo's Rudy, Dexter's seriously disturbed older brother. "There will certainly be adversaries, but it's more plural and as far as Julia's role, it's not an adversarial relationship," Mr. Hall said. "You know, Dexter's yet to get involved in any significant way with someone he hasn't ended up killing, so we'll see if he can manage" … With five seasons as the bottled-up funeral director David Fisher on the HBO series "Six Feet Under" and now another five as the secret killer Dexter Morgan, Mr. Hall is aware that he has spent a decade, and built a career, playing men with an almost comical degree of repression. "Yes, I think simulating that kind of repression day in day out for a decade probably has its effect," he said. "At the same time the fact that I've been called upon to play these characters is probably not a complete coincidence, so I have my own repressed people in my life that I've drawn on, and had my own tendency toward repression. "Maybe it has to do with not knowing quite what to do with the storm of feelings that accompanied my father's death. Maybe it's a learned behavior." He smiled. "Now I'm taking it to the bank."
Because we have 6 days to wait until the new season of Dexter begins, I think this profile on the show is a great snake to nibble on while we wait. The footballer was seen leaving a Thai massage parlour last week while his wife Victoria was away on business. His visit took place late at night in the Los Angeles suburb of Venice Beach, 14 miles from his home in Hollywood Hills. The upmarket Lamai Thai parlour where he was spotted markets itself as a reputable clinic that treats a variety of injuries. It is also a favourite of Mrs Beckham and the couple pay regular visits together. Masseuse Al Manomai treated Beckham last Monday. 'David has visited the shop a few times,' she said. ‘He wanted his leg and back worked on but told me to be careful of his ankle as he has an injury. I was standing on his back and we did a lot of stretches. He came in quite late though and didn't have time for a cup of tea afterwards.' Ready for some pretty amazing news 90′s movie fans? According to Keanu Reeves himself, there is talk of making a sequel to the early 90′s films Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey! It looks like very soon we’ll be treated with another outing from Bill & Ted on the big screen:
Keanu Reeves has said that he is working with the original Bill & Ted team in the hope of making another film in the time-travelling comedy series. Reeves’s Bill & Ted co-star Alex Winter recently revealed that discussions were under way for a third movie, after Reeves himself had admitted that he was “trying” to bring the duo back to the big screen. Now, the 46-year-old has told MTV News that Winter and himself are in dialogue with writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon over the possible project. Reeves said: “We’re trying. Alex and I are still friends and we’re talking, and we’re talking to Chris and Ed. They’re going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I’d love to play the role. I’d love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again. We’ll see what they do. I’m meeting people now – they’ve shown the film to their kids. We just seek to entertain.” The Matrix actor added that they would only work on the picture “if it’s a film that can stand up on its own”, before joking that he wanted German art house director Werner Herzog to take charge of the movie. Impersonating Herzog, Reeves said: “I was just pushed by the idea of this innocence being confronted by the nihilism of the world. And I thought that these two clowns could push our perspective of reality and truth to the forefront of meaning and knowledge.” The Bill & Ted movies tell the story of two Californian teenagers who travel through time in a phone booth after finding out that their rock band Wyld Stallyns is the key to the future happiness of the world.
OMG … I would seriously DIE if a new Bill & Ted movie gets made. I remember seeing the first two Bill & Ted movies when they came out originally (they were among the first films that I got to see with friends when we first started to drive) and I would absolutely love to see a new film. Will this new film show that Bill & Ted finally grew up? Or will Bill & Ted still be trying to find fame and fortune with their band Wyld Stallions? I, for one, am really anxious to see where Bill & Ted‘s time-traveling phone booth adventures will take them next … hopefully, away from having to travel by obsolete phone booth. This has to be the best news ever … I really hope that a new film will be made. Any Bill & Ted fans out there … this is great news, ain’t it?
Lindsay Lohan’s probation has been revoked and a bench warrant issued for her arrest … TMZ has learned. Although the bench warrant was issued, it’s being held — i.e., on hold — until Friday at 8:30 AM, when Lindsay is ordered to appear in court. The move by Judge Elden Fox comes after TMZ’s story … that Lindsay failed two drug tests recently … one showed the presence of cocaine and another showed amphetamines. The probation report — outlining the failed tests — was just filed with the court.
Lindsay Lohan’s second failed drug test involved amphetamines … TMZ has learned. We broke the story … Lindsay failed two drug tests — One for cocaine, and now we know the second was for amphetamines. Our sources would not divulge the nature of the amphetamines, but Adderall — the drug Lindsay was prescribed and hooked on — is an amphetamine. We do not know which test came first — the cocaine or the amphetamine. But we’re told both tests were taken close together. Lindsay failed her cocaine test the week before last.
And there you have it … Lindsay is now a wanted woman, again. She won’t be arrested unless she fails to show up in court on Friday morning. It is likely that Judge Fox, who has already revoked L. Lo‘s probation, will exact some sort of punishment as a result of Lindsay‘s 2 failed drug tests … but will he send her back to jail for 30 days as the terms of her probation insist? To be honest, it could go either way … he could hold her to the terms of her probation and send her off to jail on Friday morning OR he could show leniency and send her back to rehab. What do y’all think will happen? Better yet, what do you think SHOULD happen when Lindsay goes to court to answer for her crimes this Friday?
Yesterday afternoon David and I met up with our good friend Josh at Dodger Stadium to take in an afternoon baseball game together … we couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather or a better vantage point. For the first time, we decided to watch the game from the bleacher seats and we had the best time ever!
I am happy to report that after trailing for the ENTIRE game, the Dodgers came back late in the game to tie up the score with the Colorado Rockies to add extra innings to the game … then the Dodgers ended up pulling out a win in the 11th inning by a score of 7-6. It was a really fantastic day.
But today is an even MORE fantastic day because it is David’s 27th birthday today!!

Lindsay Lohan looked calm and in control last night as she arrived at an AA meeting in Hollywood. But friends are claiming that underneath the calm exterior, the actress is panicking about what is going to happen to her after she failed two mandatory drug tests. Wearing a stripey short playsuit with a black hat and black boots, Lindsay even managed a smile at one point. But according to TMZ, the Mean Girls star is ‘beating herself up’ over the tests, one of which tested positive for cocaine. Her friends also say Lindsay ‘feels like she just ruined all these really great opportunities that were coming her way.’ And it looks like the actress should be worried about the effect this will have on her career. Her role as Linda Lovelace in upcoming biopic Inferno will be in serious jeopardy if Judge Fox refuses Lindsay permission to travel. As Inferno is due to shoot in Louisiana, this would throw the movie into serious financial turmoil … Unsurprisingly, producers of the film are said to be at the end of their tether where Lindsay’s problems are concerned and are ‘beyond irritated by the recent developments’,stating ‘concern of her commitment to the work.’ The actress admitted on Twitter that she is still taking drugs – which will put her back behind bars for 30 days. The 24-year-old admitted to failing a court-ordered drug test for cocaine and said: 'I am taking responsibility for my actions.'
On a positive note, I will say that I do applaud Lindsay for making the effort to attend these AA meetings. Irregardless of whether or not she is going for the right reasons (and I suspect, at least on some level that she is going for the right reasons), I believe she will greatly benefit in a positive way from just showing up. I still find it very hard to believe that L Lo is truly ready to “take responsibility” for her actions because for that to happen her life would have to change radically and she would have to actually PAY for her criminal mistakes. I’m still curious to see what the ruling judge overseeing her ongoing probation will do now that she has admitted to failing two drug tests. Will he actually follow thru and throw her back in jail, essentially forcing her to “take responsibility” for her actions? We may find out very soon. For her sake, I hope she is forced to truly take responsibility … otherwise, as we have seen, I firmly believe that if Lindsay Lohan is left to her own devices she will surely continue to destroy her life.
Late last week Zac Efron and his beard showed up in London, England after they showed up in Spain after he officially debuted the look in France and today we learn that Zac & beard have taken their world tour down under to Australia. Actor Jude Law bagged a front row seat as he turned out to support his fiancée Sienna Miller at London Fashion Week. The actress was showing the fourth collection from her label with sister Savannah, Twenty8Twelve on Saturday. The on-again-off-again couple sent the press into a frenzy as they were seen running around and joking with one another backstage before Jude took up his place in the audience. The latest collection for Twenty8Twelve, Jericho, was inspired by Joni Mitchell’s album Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter and the Wim Wenders’ film Paris, Texas. “That’s always such a great part of the design process where we all watch movies, listen to loads of music, we go through archives and loads of photography and it’s really exciting for us,” said Sienna. The 28-year-old added: “I was traveling in Asia earlier this year and the hill tribes of northern Thailand are really inspirational in terms of colour and print and textile. And yeah, I’m really proud of what we achieved this season.”
For the record, while there has been speculation that Jude and Sienna have gotten themselves engaged, the couple have NOT announced any official engagement … so while this report refers to Jude as Sienna‘s fiancée there has been no announcement of any engagement. That being said, JuSie have been really hot and heavy for many months now so it’s really no surprise at all that he would want to be at Sienna‘s fashion show to lend his support. To be honest, considering how fashion conscious Jude is anyways, it should come as no surprise at all to see him at any fashion show at all. He looks like he is being a very good boyfriend … well, this time around. Here’s hoping he remains a good boy.
Mike The Situation Sorrentino, one of the stars of MTV‘s Jersey Shore who is set to make his Dancing with the Stars debut on ABC tonight, showed off in Long Island, NY this weekend the “new” 2008 Bentley that he purchased and then had pimped out to his precise specifications. Mike The Situation Sorrentino was at GLO night club on Long Island Saturday night, showing off his tricked out, custom-built Bentley … The Situation, known world-wide for his abs and his personality on Jersey Shore, had Unique Autosports pimp out his ride. As RadarOnline.com reported, he paid about $100,000 for the 2008 Bentley a few weeks ago and then had Unique do its thing. Dancing with the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff was with The Situation to celebrate his new ride. His mom and brother were there too. The Situation makes his debut on DWTS Monday night.
It’s amazing what fist-pumping, fraternizing, over-tanning and general debauchery will get you here in the good ol’ US of A. I’m not certain that I would ever shell out $100,000.00 for a used car but, then again, I don’t know that I’ll ever have $100k to just throw around like this. Next up for The Situation, homie is ready to take on the competition on DWTS starting tonight … could he actually win the whole competition and walk away with the trophy? Normally, I’d say no … but considering how charmed a life this joker is living right now … I guess I cannot be so sure. What a world, what a world we live in …
Angelina Jolie and her eldest daughters Zahara Marley & Shiloh Nouvel were spotted making their way thru an airport in Budapest lookin’ about as adorable as ever … especially Shiloh Nouvel who was carrying a questionably suitable-for-airline-travel wooden toy sword. I just love this adorable little girl:
She’s clearly determined to explore her tomboy side to its full potential. So when Angelina Jolie told daughter Shiloh she could pick a toy at Budapest airport before boarding a flight to Los Angeles, the four-year-old opted for a long wooden sword. And while her five-year-old adopted sister Zahara was happy to let her choice of toys be taken on the aeroplane as luggage, Shiloh insisted on carrying her new prop on the aircraft with her. Shiloh, who has been described by her parents as having ‘montenegro style’, wore her favourite chunky biker boots, grey shorts, a grey T-shirt and navy blue hoodie. She also teamed her tomboy look with her favourite green striped Yo Gabba Gabba backpack – featuring the character of Brobee from the Nickeledeon cartoon of the same name … Angelina has been in Hungary with Shiloh and Zahara scouting locations for her new film set during the Bosnian war between 1992 and 1995.
Shiloh is just the cutest ever … I absolutely love her style, I love her adventurous spirit and I love that she is able to express herself to be who she wants to be. I was quite fond of my glow-in-the-dark He-man Power Sword when I was little … but I also had a short fascination with a twirling baton. Kids are kids and toys are toys. Shiloh Nouvel is my hero!
Paris Hilton just agreed to a plea deal in her cocaine arrest case that will keep from doing any jail time … if she stays out of trouble. Paris pled guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer (both misdemeanors) and got a year of probation and also must complete an “intensive” substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and serve 200 hours of community service. If she is arrested for anything other than a minor traffic violation, it would be considered a violation of her probation. The judge warned Hilton she must changed her behavior and if she violates the terms of her probation, she will serve the one year at Clark County Detention Center. The judge told Hilton, “The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria.” Hilton was busted back on August 27 after cops found her in possession of less than a gram of cocaine.
Paris Hilton is telling close friends she’s “over being a party girl” … and wants to “trade in the club scene for a life at home” …. seriously. Paris — who’s scheduled to appear in a Las Vegas courtroom this morning to cop a plea in her drug possession case — is telling friends, “I’m taking this whole ordeal as a wake up call.” Hilton has also said that she’s using this experience to “finally grow up and become a responsible adult” … and wants to spend time volunteering at animal shelters and focusing on her business empire.
And there you have it … Paris Hilton, socialite supreme, has managed to avoid serving jailtime for possession of cocaine … a feat that is not usually accomplished by other, less famous people. Will she be able to stay completely out of trouble for the next 12 months in order to stay out of jail? In all honesty, I can’t wait to find out. Okay … firstly … the album art looks pretty janky to me. I don’t understand why they decided to just paste a photo of Mariah on top of a very boring background and decide, Meh, that’s good enough for an album cover. With as much planning that has gone into putting together this album, I don’t get why they would skimp on the album art. Secondly, it seems like this press release is putting a lot of emphasis on Mariah‘s first, amazing Xmas album … as they should but not to the point where expectations for this second album are set too high. In the end, tho, it’s always all about the music … if the songs on the disc are awesome, it won’t matter what the album art looks like or what previous success MC‘s first Xmas album enjoyed. At this point, all we have to look forward to is the music cuz they really ain’t giving us much right now with this album cover. What do y’all think … does this album art work for you?
