Lindsay Lohan Hits The Town Moments After She Admits Her Drug Test Failure

Last night, hours after TMZ broke the news that Lindsay Lohan failed two court-ordered drug tests when cocaine showed up in her system, L. Lo posted a series of tweets (that I 1000% do not believe she wrote) on her official Twitter profile where she admits her drug test failure and tries to convey that she is ready to take responsibility for her actions … and then she went out with a group of friends for a night on the town:


Now, because I’m QUITE CONFIDENT that Lindsay did NOT author her mea culpa message herself, it’s quite possible that the message went online while she was running around with her friends last night (as if we really need more reasons to totally disbelieve the sincerity of her scripted message). In an attempt to spin the irrefutable proof that Lindsay was running around last night, new “sources” are trying to make us believe that Lindsay‘s outing last night … was to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. It sucks, I want to believe that she may have gone to an AA meeting but I just don’t buy it. Not at all.

While she was running around last night, Lindsay showed off her profound tattoo that she got inked on her arm. After the jump, find out what existential message Lindsay‘s new tattoo conveys …


The tattoo reads, “I restore myself when I am alone” … tho, interestingly enough, she never ever seems to be alone very much, if at all. OY! The girl seriously needs to get her shit straight, like … seriously. If she gets coddled just because of the credit she gets from posting that scripted message then she won’t learn a damn thing from her mistakes.

Marina, Triumphant

Last night Josh and I made our way to the El Rey Theater in LA to see Marina and the Diamonds live in concert. You may recall that I got to see Marina play her first LA show back in July at The Troubadour but this time she performed with a full band, a fuller sound and much more confidence and enthusiasm:


While I enjoyed Marina‘s last show in July, I felt it was a bit rough and I decided to reserve judgment until I could seen her on a bigger stage with her full band. I am very happy to say that Marina and the Diamonds KILLED it last night … they put on a show that was very worthy of the building hype that she has been receiving. You could absolutely tell that Marina was in her element … last night’s show was the final performance of her tour and she just let the energy overtake her on stage. She mentioned that her obsession with “the mess that is America” has inspired her to stay here in LA to work on her next album … I think she’ll fit in quite nicely. I am very much looking forward to hearing more music from Marina and the Diamonds. The girl is crazy talented … I think this is just the beginning ;)

Tonight we are celebrating David’s birthday a bit early … with a rousing game of Laser Tag! A bunch of us are getting together to zap one another for David’s bday … it should be fun. Happy Saturday.

Here is this week’s batch of photos sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers — Jenny sends in an update on her baby boy Parker along with some Birthday Lurve for her older son Holden who just turned 3 years old! Jenny informs us that Parker is still not 100% but he’s doing well and is happy to celebrate his big brother’s birthday — Geana also sends in a photo of her sister Lisa and Gage (snapped by her friend Jenn) as well as an update on her sweet nephew Gage who recently was able to go outside into the sun for the first time since he was admitted to the hospital 3 weeks ago … Geana wants to express her love for the staff at Kaiser Permanente San Diego and all y’all for continuing to send in your well wishes — Lexy, from Sydney, Australia, sends in a fun photo from a recent costume party she attended as Lindsay Lohan all suited up in her prison jumpsuit and SCRAM bracelet — Kim sends in a cute candid photo of new American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez which she snapped on her recent holiday in South Beach, FL … Kim and J. Lo hung out for a bit, which I think is so damn cool — Shannon and Deana send in a cute photo with my Good Charlotte boys Joel and Benji Madden from their recent in store appearance at the Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey:

Sandra Bullock Takes Louis Bardo For A Doctor Visit

Here is a photo of Sandra Bullock with her baby boy Louis Bardo at a medical center here in SoCal right before they made their way in for a wee check up. Despite the look of concern on Sandra‘s face, it is my understanding that little Louis was doing just fine:


I kinda love how we see photos of Sandra Bullock chillin’ with half-nekkid gays at a bar on one night and then rushing her baby boy to the medical center the next night … it’s all in a day’s work for new mom Sandra ;)

Whitney Houston Surfaces In LA, On Her Way Out Of Town

When last we saw Whitney Houston here on the blog she was performing her ass off in Germany on her Nothing But Love Tour … back in May. Since then, we’ve not really heard a peep from Whitney … which does not bode well for any hope of a US leg of her tour. Whitney Houston did show up in LA this week … I understand she was spotted in Beverly Hills, CA meeting with her manager Pat Houston about possibly starring in the movie adaptation of Terry McMillan‘s novel Getting to Happy (thanks Marcus). But, not long after that meeting took place Whitney was spotted making her way thru LAX Airport on her way out of town:


You will note that none of this mentions music at all. It looks like Whitney is NOT planning on bringing her Nothing But Love Tour here to the US … which totally sucks, IMHO. I know she took a lot of flak early on in her tour but I understand once she warmed up, she was sounding better and better. I’ve never been able to see Whitney Houston in concert … but I’m keeping hope alive that she will tour the US … someday. She looks good, tho, don’t she? It’s nice to see her around these here parts once again.

Mariah Carey Releases A Promo Photo For ‘Merry Christmas II You’

Earlier this month we learned that Mariah Carey had revealed the title of her upcoming Xmas album as Merry Christmas II You … today we learn that she has updated her official website with a new promo image in support of the disc:


Mimi‘s website promises that it will be updated daily with “festive holiday reveals” so this is just the beginning. Blah … as much as I really don’t want to be thinking about Xmas (since it’s STILL technically Summer) I must admit that I am very curious to hear what new Xmas offerings MC has in store for us.

Russell Brand Busted!

Russell Brand, the suzzy-haired British comedian who is moments away from marrying California Gurl Katy Perry, was arrested at LAX Airport yesterday after a scuffle with the paparazzi turned into a full blown assault. According to reports, Russell not only laid his hands on a photog but he managed to shove the guy into the ground … which is a big no-no. For his actions yesterday, Russell got busted, y’all!

Russell Brand has been arrested following an altercation with a photographer. The 35-year-old British actor-comedian was taken into custody Friday at Los Angeles International Airport for a misdemeanor charge of simple battery, according to police. Brand was booked at LAPD’s Pacific Division and initially held on $20,000 bail. He was released later Friday on his own recognizance, Los Angeles Airport Police spokeswoman Belinda Nettles said. The victim, a paparazzo who was not identified, placed Brand under citizen’s arrest, Nettles said.

Okay, not that I think that assault is funny or anything but … LMAO!! I love that the alleged paparazzo victim was the one who placed Russell Brand under citizen’s arrest … brilliant! You may recall that yesterday we saw photos of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert going apeshizz on a photog in Miami, FL … there must’ve been something in the water this week. Now, because Russell was dumb enough to get into a physical altercation with a photographer, there are quite a few photos of this incident — which you can see, after the jump …


Yeah, it looks like Russell got physical with the paps a few times … and clearly, he is shoving that dude to the ground in the last photo. After all the shoving was finished came the actual arresting … here is a photo of Russell getting carted off to the airport jail:


My guess is that Brand will end up paying a fine and that will be the end of it. Geeze, can’t grown-ups act like grown-ups?

Lindsay Lohan Admits Her Drug Test Failure

Yesterday afternoon TMZ reported that Lindsay Lohan failed TWO of her court-mandated drug tests when cocaine was found in her system. Almost immediately after the TMZ report came out, Lindsay went on the record and vehemently denied that the report was true insisting that she was “fine” and that the people responsible for reporting her drug test failure are “nuts”. Then, late last night, Lindsay posted a series of tweet messages on her official Twitter profile admitting that she did, in fact, fail her drug test and is willing to face the consequences (which, according to the terms of her probation, would require another 30 days in jail). Here is the full text of Lindsay‘s official statement on the matter, which begins uncharacteristically with the word “regrettably”, that was posted last night:

Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result. / Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps / forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future. / This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences. / I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, / but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful….Thank you all!!!

It is plainly evident that this message was not written by Lindsay Lohan. There is no way that it is even remotely possible that Lindsay has ever used the word “regrettably” in actual conversation … and there is no way in hell I believe for a second that Lindsay even knows what the word “mishaps” actually means. Altho it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it is widely believed that Svengali manager Larry Rudolph (the man responsible for completely turning around Britney Spears‘s destroyed career) is now working for Lindsay and is very likely the craftsman behind Lindsay‘s statement. As much as I love giving L. Lo the benefit of the doubt, nothing from this statement seems at all genuine and smacks FIRST as an attempt to win the favor and mercy of Judge Elden Fox (after all, it is now up to him to determine Lindsay‘s punishment for breaking the terms of her probation by failing her drug tests). Secondly, this statement seems like a clear message meant to convince everyone else that Lindsay is finally ready to admit her failings and is ready to make a concerted effort to clean up her act … whether or not that is actually true is not the point, this message is meant to convey that she is now taking responsibility for her actions. But, in my experience, words are just words until someone actually puts them into practice and lives a life according to the things they say. Because of this serious probation infraction, not only may Lindsay be sent back to jail (a punishment that, IMHO, should be enforced for her own sake) but it also pretty much ruins any chance she has of saving her career in the short term. Lindsay is relying on the approval and permission of Judge Fox to leave California to film her new movie Inferno and, reportedly, film Saturday Night Live later in the year (and, in all honestly, I can’t help but cynically believe that Lindsay‘s main interest in winning the favor of the judge is so that she can work on these jobs, not that she is serious about her sobriety).

As wonderful as this statement from Lindsay sounds, I’m not really buying it for one second. Trust me, I am absolutely rooting for her to get her shizz straight but it’s going to take a lot more than a carefully worded and perfectly crafted statement on Twitter to make me believe that she is serious about A.) taking responsibility for her actions, B.) working towards cleaning up her act, C.) is serious about doing the right thing by stopping all the partying in order to focus on her sobriety. At this point, it’s all PR to me. I truly hope Larry Rudolph is working to help Lindsay clean up her act (and this statement is the first clear indication to me that he is) because she might actually clean up her act as a side effect of his help. It worked for Britney, it can work for Lindsay. I will say that this statement is a positive first step … but Lindsay has got a very long way to go to prove she means what she says.

Next up, we await news of her punishment (if any) and THEN see how Lindsay carries forward with this seemingly new outlook on life. I can’t help but be extremely skeptical … but if she does end up proving that she is a changed woman then she absolutely has a chance at a whole new, sober and possibly successful life.
